• How to enable a two-finger drag on a mac in Silverlight?

Is there any way to enable a "two-finger drag" on the Mac as you can enable mouse wheel scrolling?

• Multiplying two matrices from two text files with unknown dimensions

  This is my first post here. I've been working on this c++ question for a while now and have gotten nowhere. Maybe you guys can give me some hints to get me started. My program has to read two .txt files each containing one matrix. Then it has to multiply them and output it to another .txt file. My confusion here though is how the .txt files are setup and how to get the dimensions. Here is an example of matrix 1.txt. #ivalue #jvalue value 1 1 1.0 2 2 1 The dimension of the matrix is 2x2. 1.0 0 0 1 Before I can start multiplying these matrices I need to get the i and j value from the text file. The only way I have found out to do this is int main() { ifstream file("a.txt"); int numcol; float col; for(int x=0; x<3;x++) { file>>col; cout<<col; if(x==1) //grabs the number of columns numcol=col; } cout<<numcol; } The problem is I don't know how to get to the second line to read the number of rows. But now I am running into another problem. In matrix B it is setup like: #ivalue #jvalue Value 1 1 0.1 1 2 0.2 2 1 0.3 2 2 0.4 I need to let the program know that it needs to go down 4 lines, maybe even more (The matrices dimensions are unknown. My matrix B example is a 2x2, but it could be a 20x20). I have a while(!file.eof()) loop my program to let it loop until the end of file.   Hello, I'm working on PowerPoint Add-In and I was faced with trouble I couldn't solve myself. The point is I need to change the slide Layout programmaticaly with C# (the Add-In Express 2009 for Office and .NET is used). If the new layout is a predefined one everything is fine but I need to set a custom layout as a new one (without slide recreating). Unfortunately, I didn't find any information on how to do it, PowerPoint object model reference documentation didn't answer me as well. There is just the ability to create a new slide that uses custom layout. I've done an experiment seria and have ensured that the Slide object stayed being the same while I have been changing layout both predefined and custom ones. I don't want to create a new slide when I need just switch the layout. Is it possible at all? Please help me to find a way of doing it. Thanks in advance.

• CSS: Is it possible to have a 3-column layout with BOTH the left column and center column flexibly filling the space?

  It is possible to use position:absolute and left and right on the middle column to set where it ends in relation to the parent div. However I'd like to be able to have the left side of the center div to start right where the left column ends, and for the left column to be adjustable (based on its content). This seems like a really basic thing but from what I understand there is no way to do this without flexboxes. Is this true? Is there nothing I could do with clever nesting of semantically superfluous elements and certain styles set to auto?

• Lookup site column not saving/storing metadata for Office 2007 documents?

  I'm having this issue on several server environments. We have a list at the site collection root. There is a site column created as a multi-value lookup on that list's Title field. This site column is used in document libraries in subsites as a required field. When we upload anything but an Office 2007 document, the user is presented with the document metadata fill-in screen (EditForm.aspx?Mode=Upload), the user fills in the appropriate data (including picking a value(s) for this lookup), and clicks "check in" - the document is checked in as expected, with the lookup field's value filled in. With an Office 2007 document, this fails. The user selected values for the lookup field do not ever make it to the server - no errors are thrown, but the field is not saved with the document. We have an event listener on these document libraries, and if we inspect the incoming SPListItem on the event listener method before a single line of our code has run, we see that the value for the lookup field is null. It smells like a SharePoint bug to me - but before I go calling Microsoft, has anyone seen this & worked around it? Edit: the only entry I see in the SP trace logs relating to the problem: CMS/Publishing/8ztg/Medium/Got List Item Version, but item was null

I'll be using some third-party libraries: ThirdParty.Foo.dll ThirdParty.Bar.dll ThirdParty.Baz.dll And some in-house libraries: Company.A Company.B Company.C Company.D (References third party libraries) Company.E (References Company.A) The project itself will have the following components: Project.Core Project.DataModel (references in-house/third-party libraries) Project.GUI (references Core, DataModel, and in-house/third-party libraries) Project.PluginOne (references Core, DataModel, and in-house/third-party libraries) Project.PluginTwo (references Core, DataModel, and in-house/third-party libraries) * can be an arbitrary number of plugins * I'm quite new to Mercurial, so I don't really know the best way to structure my repositories for a project like this, with a lot of interconnected components. The in-house libraries are fairly distinct, so I would say that each one of them should have its own repository. However, some of them use functionality provided by others. How should these dependencies be managed? The project plug-ins should be distinct from eachother, so I'd imagine that each would have its own repository. How should the dependencies on the in-house/third-party libraries and the rest of the project (Project.DataModel and Project.Core) be managed, with regards to the solution layout and the repository layout? So basically, for a project like this, what are the best way of structuring: (a) my visual studio solutions (b) my source control repository/repositories

• Is there a good digraph layout library callable from C++?

  The digraphs represent finite automata. Up until now my test program has been writing out dot files for testing. This is pretty good both for regression testing (keep the verified output files in subversion, ask it if there has been a change) and for visualisation. However, there are some problems... Basically, I want something callable from C++ and which plans a layout for my states and transitions but leaves the drawing to me - something that will allow me to draw things however I want and draw on GUI (wxWidgets) windows. I also want a license which will allow commercial use - I don't need that at present, and I may very well release as open source, but I don't want to limit my options ATM. The problems with GraphViz are (1) the warnings about building from source on Windows, (2) all the unnecessary dependencies for rendering and parsing, and (3) the (presumed) lack of a documented API specifically and purely for layout. Basically, I want to be able to specify my states (with bounding rectangle sizes) and transitions, and read out positions for the states and waypoints for each transition, then draw based on those co-ordinates myself. I haven't really figured out how annotations on transitions should be handled, but there should be some kind of provision for specifying bounding-box-sizes for those, associating them with transitions, and reading out positions. Does anyone know of a library that can handle those requirements? I'm not necessarily against implementing something for myself, but in this case I'd rather avoid it if possible.

• Can I add a portrait layout on top of a landscape Camera SurfaceView?

  My application should hold a camera preview surface. Now I need to have an overlay that holds a bunch of buttons. Due to usability, the user interface should be set to portrait view (or even better orientation aware). Is there a way to have a transparent layout (for buttons and other GUI elements) in portrait orientation? I tried to write a special rotated layout by extending a RelativeLayout, but the onDraw method isn't called at anytime. public class RotatedOverlay extends RelativeLayout { private static final String TAG = "RotatedOverlay"; public RotatedOverlay(Context context, AttributeSet attrs ) { super(context, attrs); } @Override protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { canvas.rotate(90); super.onDraw(canvas); } I am quite new to the Android plattform programming. • Liquid Layout: 100% max-width img not applied - why?

  I'm totally new to this liquid layout stuff. I've notice, as most of us, that while most of my layout components "liquify", images, unfortunately, don't. So I'm trying to use the max-width: 100% on images as suggested on several places. However, and despite the definition of max-width and min-height of the img container, the img don't scale. Any clue about what could the issue be, why does that image not scale? Test case: Browsers: Firefox 15.0 / Chrome 21.0 IOS: MAC OS X Lion - 10.7.3 Resolution: 1920x1200 What I get: I get an image that doesn't scale until the end of it's container. The img width won't fit the article element that contains it. What I do expect: I expect the image to enlarge, until it reaches the end it's container. Visually, I'm expecting the image to be as wide as the paragraph immediately below, in a way that, the right side of the image stays vertically aligned with the right side of the paragraph below.

• Eclipse ADT: Layout Properties Editor doesn't work correctly

  I have a new, clean installation of Eclipse Kepler (4.3.1) SR1 (x64) in Linux Mint 15 Olivia x64 (based on Ubuntu 13.04 “Raring Ringtail”). ADT version is 22.3.0, and Java is Oracle's 1.7.0_45. The problem is, I cannot edit the properties in layout editor; nothing happens when I click "..." button, nor I can edit the properties directly by clicking the empty space. The boolean properties don't even contain the checkbox. This doesn't happen in Windows XP 32bit, with the same versions of Eclipse and ADT: Anyone know any workarounds/reasons for this? Looks like Mac OS X Mountain Lion had a similar issue in the past, but I heard that was fixed, and I'm talking about Linux version here. I had no such problems in Eclipse Indigo and an old version of ADT, but I can't remember the exact versions of them. EDIT: Lubuntu 13.04 (32bit) in VMware Player doesn't have this problem.

So, consider the picture below: if i drag the red node to the right, i'm forcing his position to my mouse position the other nodes will "follow" him, but how ? For Verlet, to compute the newPosition, i need the acceleration for every node and the currentPosition. That is what i don't understand. How to i compute the acceleration and the currentPosition ? There is always some question which everyone likes to read and remember. Here is one of the questions which I received in email. I believe the same question will be there any many developers who are beginning with SQL Server. I decided to blog about it so everyone can read it and participate. “I am beginner in SQL Server. I have a very interesting situation and need your help. I am beginner to SQL Server and that is why I do not have access to the production server and I work entirely on the development server. The project I am working on is also in the infant stage as well. In product I had to create a multiple tables and every table had few columns. Later on I have written Stored Procedures using those tables. During a code review my manager has requested to change one of the column which I have used in the table. As per him the naming convention was not accurate. Now changing the columname in the table is not a big issue. I figured out that I can do it very quickly either using T-SQL script or SQL Server Management Studio. The real problem is that I have used this column in nearly 50+ stored procedure. This looks like a very mechanical task. I believe I can go and change it in nearly 50+ stored procedure but is there a better solution I can use. Someone suggested that I should just go ahead and find the text in system table and update it there. Is that safe solution? If not, what is your solution. In simple words, How to replace a column name in multiple stored procedure efficiently and quickly? Please help me here with keeping my experience and non-production server in mind.” Well, I found this question very interesting. Honestly I would have preferred if this question was asked on my social media handles (Facebook and Twitter) as I am very active there and quite often before I reach there other experts have already answered this question. Anyway I am now answering the same question on the blog so all of us can participate here and come up with an appropriate answer. Here is my answer - “My Friend, I do not advice to touch system table. Please do not go that route. It can be dangerous and not appropriate. The issue which you faced today is what I used to face in early career as well I still face it often. There are two sets of argument I have observed – there are people who see no value in the name of the object and name objects like obj1, obj2 etc. There are sets of people who carefully chose the name of the object where object name is self-explanatory and almost tells a story. I am not here to take any side in this blog post – so let me go to a quick solution for your problem. Note: Following should not be directly practiced on Production Server. It should be properly tested on development server and once it is validated they should be pushed to your production server with your existing deployment practice. The answer is here assuming you have regular stored procedures and you are working on the Development NON Production Server. Go to Server Note >> Databases >> DatabaseName >> Programmability >> Stored Procedure Now make sure that Object Explorer Details are open (if not open it by clicking F7). You will see the list of all the stored procedures there. Now you will see a list of all the stored procedures on the right side list. Select either all of them or the one which you believe are relevant to your query. Now… Right click on the stored procedures >> SELECT DROP and CREATE to >> Now select New Query Editor Window or Clipboard. Paste the complete script to a new window if you have selected Clipboard option. Now press Control+H which will bring up the Find and Replace Screen. In this screen insert the column to be replaced in the “Find What”box and new column name into “Replace With” box. Now execute the whole script. As we have selected DROP and CREATE to, it will created drop the old procedure and create the new one. Another method would do all the same procedure but instead of DROP and CREATE manually replace the CREATE word with ALTER world. There is a small advantage in doing this is that if due to any reason the error comes up which prevents the new stored procedure to be created you will have your old stored procedure in the system as it is. “ Well, this was my answer to the question which I have received.   More often than not, the reason that Eclipse has more plugins than NetBeans IDE is because Eclipse has far less features out of the box. For example, thanks to its out of the box support, NetBeans IDE doesn't need a Maven plugin and it doesn't need a Java EE plugin, which are two of the most popular plugins for Eclipse. However, what would be great for NetBeans IDE to have is support for Android. It's existed for a while, thanks to the community-driven NBAndroid project, but without much desired GUI functionality. • The layout page "~/Views/Shared/_Layout.cshtml" could not be found

  I got this error and I can't figure out what is going on. I am positive the _layout.cshtml resides in the shared folder and for the sake of trying things out, I moved to the Home folder and it then told that the Views/Home/_Layout.cshtml couldn't be found there either. So now I'm thinking the problem is in the call for this file for some reason. I'm not going to pretend I know ASP.NET MVC4, so please when you answer, explain it as you would to someone who is not familiar with the system at all. Believe it or not, this error came from tutorial #1 ha ha Here's the code to show that I did code it right: @{ ViewBag.Title = "Home Page"; Layout = "~/Views/Shared/_Layout.cshtml"; } And here is a picture of the location p.s. • Algorithm for perfect non-binary graph layout

  I have a complex non-binary graph model. Each tree node can have multiple children&parents (a node can also have a connection to it's "brother"). A node is represented as square on screen with lines to the connected nodes. For that I want to use Draw2D and GEF libraries. The problem I am facing is the graph layout.   I am seeking some ideas for how to build and install software with some parameters. These including target OS, target platform CPU details, debugging variant, etc. Some parts of the install are shared, such as documentation and many platform independent files, others are not, such as 64 and 32 bit libraries when these are separated and not together in a multi-arch library. On big networked platforms one often has multiple computers sharing some large server space, so there is actually cause to have even Windows and Unix binaries on the same disk. My product has already fixed an install philosophy of $INSTALL_ROOT/genericname/version/ so that multiple versions can coexist. The question is: how to manage the layout of all the other stuff?

• Changing the rendering resolution while maintaining the design layout

  I would like to increase the FPS of my project. Currently I would like to try reducing the resolution at which the scenes are rendered. Let's say I never want to draw more than 1280*720. What ever the real resolution is. How should I proceed? I tried pEGLView->setFrameSize(1280, 720); but only reduces the displayed size of the frame on screen (boxing). • confusion understanding the fluid 2 column navigation layout

  I'm trying to understand the following cross-browser layout: http://matthewjamestaylor.com/blog/perfect-2-column-left-menu.htm but I'm having some confusion with some of its parts and there isn't enough information on the page or in the css comments to help me. What is the purpose of the .colleft div? Why can't the 2 columns be directly under the .colmask container? Why does the .colleft div have a right 75%? I don't understand its purpose/benefit. Why don't the widths of .col1 and .col2 add up to 100%? How was left:102% calculated for .col1 and left:6% for .col2? The comments for this are not very clear to me. How is it any different from not even specifiying a left/right css property?

First is DataTable NameAdressPhones = new DataTable(); with Three columns Name,Adress and PhoneNo.But I want only two columns Name and Adress data so I am copy those columns (with data) to the new datatable DataTable NameAdress = new DataTable(); For that I do foreach (DataRow sourcerow in NameAdressPhones.Rows) { DataRow destRow = NameAdress.NewRow(); foreach (string colname in columns) { destRow[colname] = sourcerow[colname]; } NameAdress.Rows.Add(destRow); } Now I clear every time the NameAdressPhones(first) datatable when there are new records in the table.And every time there will be same no of columns but column name will be different like Nm instead of Name,Add instead of Address.Now problem is second datatable have already column names Name and Address and now I want to copy the columns data of Nm and Add to the second datatabel but the column names are different to the second datatable.So even If there is different column names I want to copy Nm column data of first datatable to the column Name of second datatable and column Add data of first datatable to column Address of second datatable.
