• A good resource to get the most out of Google Analytics

  I was wondering if any one could offer me some advice as to the best resources out there (ideally books) on google analytics. I have a basic understanding but have a lot of room for improvement. The following book "Advanced Web Metrics with Google Analytics" by Brian Clifton, appears to be a good starting but but is already quite dated, even though published in march 2010. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  In this post, Martin (the language's head honcho) writes: [XML literals] Seemed a great idea at the time, now it sticks out like a sore thumb. I believe with the new string interpolation scheme we will be able to put all of XML processing in the libraries, which should be a big win. Being interested in language design myself, I'm wondering: Why does he write that it was a mistake to incorporate XML literals into the language? What is the controversy regarding this feature?

• Getting user generated content with no titles to rank

  We are creating a site that allows users to generate content. The user is provided with a text field only (no title), similar to Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. Each piece of content created by the users will have a dedicated page/URL. Since the page has no title, I was wondering how search engines will index and display our pages. If the content was shared on other social networks, what will those results look like if there is no title for the open graph or Twitter tags?

  I'm wondering if it is possible to specify, that all connections (even future, like when using wifi at some other place (=different SSID)) will be using pre-defined DNS server When I have some (concrete) connections, I could go to IPv4 settings, and specify DNS server there (however, in case of new connection I would have to do it (and not forget it)) This may be particularly useful for some safe/filtering dns (such as opendns's 208.67.222.123 & 208.67.220.123)

• XNA Shader Texture Memory

  I was wondering about texture optimization in XNA 4.0. Will the the contentmanager send the texturedata to the GPU directly when the texture gets loaded or do I send the texture data to the GPU when I declare a texture in my shader. If that's the case, what happens if I have 5 shaders all using the same texture, does that mean that I send 5 instances of that texture data to the gpu or am I simply telling the GPU what preloaded texture to use? Or does XNA do the heavy lifting in the background?

  I was reading up on Algorithms and came across the Karatsuba multiplication algorithm and a little wiki-ing led to the Schonhage-Strassen and Furer algorithms for multiplication. I was wondering what algorithms are used on the * operator in C#? While multiplying a pair of integers or doubles, does it use a combination of algorithms with some kind of strategy based on the size of the numbers?   I am making an open world 3d platformer in Ogre3D, and I have no idea on what kind of 3d map file format I should use for it. I want to make low-polygon blocky-style objects. Probably rectangles and other geometrical figures that don't have circular edges. Some of those blocks will have properties, like climbable or they might move. This library should be able to handle the collision detection and the movement of the sprites. Back in the 90's there was a Pascal library called Sprite Animation Toolkit by Ingemar Ragnemalm that handled a lot of the heft to create animations and the such. Hello, I have an online shop, now I got some products that I want to delete, however I am aware that some of them are indexed and/or marked as bookmarks for some people. • best way to cleanly display 15-20 youtube videos in a webpage?

• How to change root password for mysql and phpmyadmin

  I've set up mysql and phpmyadmin and chose not to set a password when installing hoping that once set up i could login with root and no password but i get the following error from phpmyadmin Login without a password is forbidden by configuration (see AllowNoPassword) I have previously moved the phpmyadmin folder to /var/www/ I have tried changing the following line $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = false; to $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = true; but still had no success, so i am wondering is there a way i can change the root passwords for both so i can access phpmyadmin and create databases. Thanks

• Should one comment differently in functional languages

  I'm just getting started with functional programming and I'm wondering the correct way to comment my code. It seems a little redundant to comment a short function as the names and signature already should tell you everything you need to know. Commenting larger functions also seems a little redundant since they are generally comprised of smaller self-descriptive functions. What is the correct way to comment a functional program? Should I use the same approach as in iterative programming?

• Are there any jobs for software developers with a BA and no previous employment? [closed]

  Are there any careers available for developers who have never been employed before in the industry, and who have a BA, rather than a BS in computer science? I'm currently pursuing a BS in computer science but realized that the math is too difficult for me. Someone suggested switching to a BA instead but I have not been able to find any jobs in my state (Minnesota) which take a BA. I was wondering if a BA is worth pursuing if I cannot get a BS.
