  The code I'm currently working on requires adding an NSNumber object to an array. All of the NSNumbers with value 0-12 are added fine, but 13 onward causes a EXC_BAD_ACCESS. • Javascript: how to tell if a node object has been inserted into a document/another element yet

  I'd like to be able to identify whether a given DOM node has been appended/inserted into another node yet, or whether it is fresh out of document.createElement() or similar and has not been placed anywhere. In most browsers just checking the parentNode works. if (!node.parentNode) { // this node is not part of a larger document } However, in Internet Explorer it appears that new elements, even right after they've been created with document.createElement() already have a parentNode object (of type DispHTMLDocument??). Any other nice cross-browser and reliable way? Edit: looks like Internet Explorer is implicitly creating a DocumentFragment (with nodeType of 11) and setting that as the node's parentNode property.

  Frankly, I'm flummoxed. • Windows - VBScript - Determine IP address of computer on network

  I have written some VBScripts to automate tasks that I perform on computers over the network. These work great for most tasks however within our network we have problems with the IP address in DNS being correct all the time. This mainly occurs with laptops where we have different IP ranges for machines on the wireless and wired network. For example a machine may boot up wired in the morning and get an IP address: 10.10.10.1 When it switches to wireless it will obtain an address in a different subnet: 10.11.10.1 When you try to connect to that machine it still returns the old IP address (10.10.10.1) even though the computer now has a new one. I have found that I can still connect to that computer's C$ share via \computer name\c$ even though the machine does not ping. Obviously there is some other kind of address resolution going on, my question is how do I harness this to allow my VBScripts connect to WMI? Thanks!

The tool i am using uses EzCrypto gem for encrypting and decrypting passwords before they are stored/retrieved.   This should be simple but I can't figure it out <?php $testid = 240; $curid = 251; $cal = $curid - $testid; echo $cal; ?> I want to determine the numbers in between two other numbers so for this example it detects there are 11 numbers in between the $testid and $curid, but i dont need it to do that. I need it to literally figure the numbers in between $curid - $testid which in this example would be 241, 242, 243... all the way to 251 then i need to create a loop with those numbers and do a query below with each one $cal = $curid - $testid; mysql_query("SELECT * FROM wall WHERE id='".$cal."'") // and for each number mysql should out put each data field with those numbers.   hi, I'm using a Gregorian Calendar to set a specific date and time to an application using the set function of the Gregorian Calendar. When i use the getTime() method, it gives me the right output however when i try to access the Hour_Of_Day and Minute it gives a wrong number.   I am trying to break a large string of text into several smaller strings of text and define each smaller text strings max length to be different. for example: "The quick brown fox jumped over the red fence. The blue dog dug under the fence." I would like to have code that can split this into smaller lines and have the first line have a max of 5 characters, the second line have a max of 11, and rest have a max of 20, resulting in this: Line 1: The Line 2: quick brown Line 3: fox jumped over the Line 4: red fence. • SELinux, Fedora, and Trusted Applet crashing?

  For some reason, if I run Firefox 3.5.x under Fedora 11 with SELinux enabled, my browser crashes when I attempt to embed the applet dynamically. Under Windows, Ubuntu, and Mac, the user is prompted to trust the signer and then trust the executing java applet, but under Fedora, I never see this prompt. If I disable SELinux, I get NO prompting, and the applet embeds without any notice whatsoever! Remembering that trusted applets can execute user programs and manipulate user data, this becomes quite a nightmare. Has anyone else had to deal with SELinux and Fedora/SuSE/Linux and trusted applets before? If so, how did you overcome this broken behavior?

  As part of a larger regex I would like to match the following restrictions: The string has 11 digits All digits are numbers Within the first 10 digits one number [0-9] (and one only!) must be listed twice This means the following should match: 12345678914 12235879600 Whereas these should not: 12345678903 -> none of the numbers at digits 1 to 10 appears twice 14427823482 -> one number appears more than twice 72349121762 -> two numbers appear twice I have tried to use a lookahead, but all I'm managing is that the regex counts a certain digit, i.e.: (?!.*0\1{2}) That does not do what I need. Is my query even possible with regex?

  Running into a problem. I have a table defined to hold the values of the daily treasury yield curve. It's a pretty simple table used for historical lookup of values. There are notibly some gaps in the table on year 4, 6, 8, 9, 11-19 and 21-29. The formula is pretty simple in that to calculate year 4 it's 0.5*Year3Value + 0.5*Year5Value. The problem is how can I write a VIEW that can return the missing years? I could probably do it in a stored procedure but the end result needs to be a view.

• Generate fixed length hash in python for url parameter

  I am working in python on appengine. I am trying to create what is equivalent to the "v" value in the youtube url's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhMN0wlITLk) for retrieving specific entities. The datastore auto generates a key but it is way too long (34 digits). I have experimented with hashlib to build my own, but again I get a long string. I would like to keep it to under 11 digits (I am not dealing with a huge number of entities) and letters and numbers are acceptable. It seems like there should be a pretty standard solution. I am probably just missing it.

I have next task: must select posts with tags ids for example 4, 10 and 11. Not exactly, post could have any other tags at the same time. So, how I could do it more optimized? Creating temporary table in each query? Or may be some kind of stored procedure? In the future, user could ask script to select posts with any count of tags (it could be 1 tag only or 10 at the same time) and I must be sure that method that I will choose would be the best method for my problem.   I wasn't sure of how to form the question so I apologize if the title is misleading. Additionally, you may want to get some coffee and take a seat for this one ... It's long. Basically, I'm trying to reverse engineer the protocol used by the Windows Mobile Live Search application to get location based on cellID. Before I go on, I am aware of other open source services (such as OpenCellID) but this is more for the sake of education and a bit for redundancy. According to the packets I captured, a POST request is made to ... mobile.search.live.com/positionlookupservice_1/service.aspx ... with a few specific headers (agent, content-length, etc) and no body. Once this goes through, the server sends back a 100-Continue response. At first I thought they were some sort of base level element terminators but I'm not certain. I'm not sure the 7-byte header is, in fact, a seven byte header. I wonder if it's maybe 4 bytes and that the three remaining 0x00s are of some other significance. The trailing 0x00s. Why is it that there is only one on the request but two on the response? The type 8 cast mentioned above ... I can't seem to figure out how those values are being encoded. I added comments to those lines with what the values should correspond to. Any advice on these four points will be greatly appreciated. And yes, these packets were captured in Watertown, MA. :)

• Plot smooth line with PyPlot

  I've got the following simple script that plots a graph: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt import numpy as np T = np.array([6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12]) power = np.array([1.53E+03, 5.92E+02, 2.04E+02, 7.24E+01, 2.72E+01, 1.10E+01, 4.70E+00]) plt.plot(T,power) plt.show() As it is now, the line goes straight from point to point which looks ok, but could be better in my opinion. What I want is to smooth the line between the points. In Gnuplot I would have plotted with smooth cplines. Is there an easy way to do this in PyPlot? I've found some tutorials, but they all seem rather complex.

• linux display drivers

  I've run into a major display problem on newly installed fedora 11, on my 6 years old pc which runs a pentium4 2.4 GHz processor, 1 gb ddr ram, intel 845 motherboard with integrated graphics card. When i open an image or play a video, my complete screen turns garbled. I simply cannot make out whats on my screen. With difficulty i have to close the image/video window and move around the folder window to clean the screen image. Is it because of my display drivers? How can i fix it? I also ran into mp3 plugins and flash issues which i was able to resovle. I'm new to linux, the sole purpose of isntalling it on my old pc was to learn linux but this display problem is frustrating me. Thanks, Salman

I'm particularly unsure about the branch instruction but I can't find anything wrong with it so : /
