  Hi all, Is there a document describing how to name enumerations? My preference is that an enum is a type. So, for instance, you have an enum Fruit{Apple,Orange,Banana,Pear, ... } NetworkConnectionType{LAN,Data_3g,Data_4g, ... } I am opposed to naming it: FruitEnum NetworkConnectionTypeEnum I understand it is easy to pick off which files are enums, but then you would also have: NetworkConnectionClass FruitClass Also, is there a good document describing the same for constants, where to declare them, etc.?   I have a problem modernizing a Java WebStart application under Java 6 u 13 (the latest at this moment) We desire to use the new mechanism to have several master configuration files each with their own configuration , which then "include" another jnlp file which is autogenerated to ensure that the jar list is accurate. After quite a bit of poking I have made it work, except for the fact that the properties defined in the master file is not available to the program when Main is invoked. " Why to use: document.body.foo = 52; can result a memory leak -or in what conditions- so that I should use jQuery.data(document.body, 'foo', 52); Should I ALWAYS prefer .data() instead of using expandos in any case? Would it be possible to configure a proxy solution to store this information, either in a file or pipe it straight into an application?   I'm querying a bunch of information from cisco switches using SNMP. For instance, I'm pulling information on neighbors detected using CDP by doing an snmpwalk on .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.23 Can I use this OID across different cisco models? What pitfalls should I be aware of? To me, I'm a little uneasy about using numeric OIDs - it seems like I should be using a MIB database or something and using the named OIDs, in order to gain cross-device compatibility, but perhaps I'm just imagining the need for that.

• Rails: How do I unserialize from database?

  Hello, I am currently trying to save information for an invoice/bill. On the invoice I want to show what the total price is made up of. The procedures & items, their price and the qty. So in the end I hope to get it to look like this: Consult [date] [total_price] Procedure_name [price] [qty] Procedure_name [price] [qty] Consult [date] [total_price] Procedure_name [price] [qty] etc... All this information is available through the database but i want to save the information as a separate copy. That way if the user changes the price of some procedures the invoice information is still correct. I thought i'd do this by serializing and save the data to a column (consult_data) in the Invoice table. I tried defining a variable to the consult_data attribute and then doing "variable.consult_problem" or "variable[:consult_problem]" (also tried looping) but it only throws no-method-errors back at me. • Want to set 'src' of script to my IP-Won't load in Safari or Chrome. Relative link asp.netmvc

  I have a script that links to the server I am hosting (IP can change) usually I would just use for links: var url ='http://' + window.location.hostname + 'end of url'; But in this case it isnt appearing to be so easy. I have tried: (1) $('#scriptid').attr('src', url); as well as: (2) var script = document.createElement( 'script' ); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = url; $("#insert").append( script ); Now case (2) works loads the script runs the script. But when at the end of my script it hits the 'write data' it decides to replace the entire page with just the data. Any idea on how I can do this? Note: I am using plain html not ASP. With ASP backend that is just the way it has to be. Ok it now is <script src="myscript.js"></script> C# router.AddAsyncRoute("myscript.js"...... It workes in IE & FF. But I get blank pages in Chrome & Safari. I am using document.write to write a script onto my page. Any ideas why Chrome & Safari don't like this? I am so far assuming that in Crhome & Safari it takes longer to run the script therefore launching the document.write after the DOM has loaded therefore replacing the page with a blank one. edit the script im trying to run is a modification of: d = new dTree('d'); d.add(0,-1,'My example tree'); d.add(1,0,'Node 1','default.html'); d.add(2,0,'Node 2','default.html'); d.add(3,1,'Node 1.1','default.html'); d.add(4,0,'Node 3','default.html'); d.add(5,3,'Node 1.1.1','default.html') document.write(d); Any ideas how I can get around this? • Included php file calling Javascript function

  Hi there! Here's the deal. I've got index.php which links to an internal JS file in it's header. index.php then includes another .php file, which outputs this: + add file. addFile() is a Javascript function defined in the external JS file. By doing this nothing happens, the included php does not "see" the JS function. Encapsulating the JS in the included PHP makes it all work. But I don't want to do it that way. Any ideas? • Fast find near users using PostGIS

  I have 5 tables: - users - information about user with current location_id (fk to geo_location_data) - geo_location_data - information about location, with PostGIS geography(POINT, 4326) column - user_friends - relationships between users. I want to find near friends for current user, but it takes a lot of time of executing select query to know if user is a friend and after that execute select using ST_DWithin.. May be something wrong in domain model or in queries?

• Viewing an EXE File

  I was attempting to install an exe that requires a serial number before the install, which the vendor has not provided to us yet. This got my wheels turning about whether there is any information that can be gained from viewing an exe using a hex editor/VI/etc? Using VI to view an exe, I can see some sections of plain text, but it is difficult to determine what it refers to without any context around it. Is it possible to determine any information by reading an exe? Thanks
