  • Macbook Pro 2010 Ethernet Jumbo Frame(9k MTU) Support?

    Has anyone been able to use jumbo frame support on their 2010 Macbook Pros? This is kind of negative news here, but I am seeing many reports that this is not available anymore due to Apple's choice of network card in the new machines. I cannot set my MTU speed over 1500 on my new 2010 MBP i7, but my old early 2008 MBP (Core2) has the 9000 MTU setting for use. Everything I have is setup to use jumbo frames and I thought apple kept that feature in their "pro" lineup. It sounds like the Mac Pro still has it. Did they decide to use a chipset that doesn't support it? I am trying to pinpoint some solid chipset numbers and the feature support. Maybe they just need to update the drivers? Is there some more official information about this feature? This might seem minor, but this is really frustrating if apple removed this feature from their pro laptop line.     I've configured a 3G IP Gateway of mine to connect using IKE Phase 1 Aggressive Mode with PSK to my openswan installation running on Ubuntu server 12.04. I think left's response is indeed getting through to my gateway, because in another question, I was trying to set up a similar scenario with Main Mode IKE, and in that case it looks as though at least one of the three 2-way main mode exchanges succeeded. What other explanation for the failure is there? (The 3G Gateway I'm using on the right is a Moxa G3150, by the way.)

  • Setting up Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server as a mail exchange server

    I am a Unix/Linux/Windows Server noob. So, keep that in mind before you throw your stones at my glass house. :P I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine that's acting as domain controller, Server A. It's also running a DNS server. I have a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.3, Server B that is intended for mail server. In order for the mail delivery to happen, I understand that I have to set an MX record on Server A and point it to Server B. Well, I did. I manually added a host name on Server A and pointed to Server B's IP address. Then I added an MX record and pointed it to the host name. That didn't do the trick. After taking the above steps, I used the "dig" command on Server B to lookup the MX record coming back from Server A and it wasn't what I was expecting. What am I doing wrong here? I have noticed that... my Windows machines that are joined to the domain (Server A) are listed under the host names. The machines that are not joined to the domain are not list. This is fine, I am not worried about this. What does concern me, do I have to join the Server B to domain in order for Server A to recognize as a valid host and forward the MX properly? If so, some simple steps on how to join Server B to the domain would also help.

    Hello everyone, Lately I had to reinstall my development site on my ubuntu machine since my system crashed after an os update. 4 days later my site is still not running as it should. Whenever i do an action which has in it an action on a database, it stops working.   • Deploying Office 2010 with MDT 2012 - Multiple Customisaton Files?

    I'm in the process of setting up a deployment share for Windows 7 and Office 2010 Pro Plus, using MDT 2012. My question involves the customisation of the Office 2010 install. I've imported Office into MDT and I've successfully created a custom MSP file to tailor the settings to our business. However, I need to have a number of different customisations for different groups of users. For instance, our laptop users need Outlook Anywhere configured whereas desktop users do not. Basically - what's the best way of doing this? Do I have to import Office into MDT more than once, each instance using a different MSP, then have the task sequence select the appropriate instance? It's just that this method seems extremely wasteful so I'm thinking that there's a more intelligent way to do it? Or am I coming at this from the wrong direction? Should I be looking at Group Policy to tweak the Outlook settings in this instance? I'm just aware that there are certain things that OCT can do that group policy cannot, so I would have thought that there must be something I can do in MDT. I'm new to MDT so any pointers will be apprectiated. Thanks in advance.

  • Windows Server 2003 (w/Exchange) move to new machine

    I have an ageing domain controller (the only one on a 10-pc network) which needs rebooting often. I have a Dell Poweredge 2850 server doing nothing, so I'd like to move the DC to that, but here's the catch - I don't have Win2k Server Std install media any more as it's been lost. I purchased "Easus Todo Backup Advanced Server" which claims to be able to recover to dissimilar metal, but it's not quite working (although I don't think it's the product's fault) I know the server and PERC RAID card are good because I installed Ubuntu on the logical drive (4 x 72GB disks RAID 5) no problems. I've booted frmo the Easus Todo backup CD (which is WinPE based) and recovered to the logical disk on the RAID (after installing driver inside the WinPE environment from a NAS drive) The problem is when I boot the server, I can get the OS selection menu, but any option results in a blank screen, with no errors. I figure this is probably because the driver wasn't installed on the old machine (which is IDE-based (i know, i know!) and doesn;t have a RAID controller) I've booted from the CD and copied the mraid35x.sys file to the c:\windows\system32\drivers folder on the recovered system, but it makes no difference. I made a boot.ini with rdisks 0-10 defined, and booting from each of these resulted in a file error (i.e. 'this isn't a real disk') - the only disk that gets any response (the blank screen) is multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) which just gives me the blank black screen and no disk activity. Is there any way I can force the drvier to be installed on the source system (so i can do a full backup again), i've tried right-clicking the oemsetup.inf and clicking install, but it didn't actually do anything. I attempted to force it with the 'Add new hardware' wizard and forcing with the 'have disk' option but it still gave me no hardware to select. Also I've got an identical machine running WinXP which uses the PERC driver successfully (which was obviously done at install time) and the boot.ini settings are the same : multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) Any ideas would be appreciated.

So I started looking into it and the closest I got was this page: http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/158/p/20912/98083.aspx I created a Group Role with a Write Scope according to that post. I also assigned the Reset Password, Recipiants Creation, Mail Recipients and Distribution Groups rolls. But unfortunately that just doesnt work. The user in question is still unable to manage anything. Any suggestions?

This works great when I run the same code from home network, my friends home network anywhere around, but when I run it from my client's location in Columbia it fails. I have a valid user name and password on that Exchange Server. Is there any configuration that I can set to achieve this? BTW this code below works when I run it within office network and any network within any home network. I have tried it at least with five friends network in Plano, Texas. I want this code to work running from any network in another country. My client in Columbia can connect to the web service using a browser using the same user name and password, but when I run the code above it is not able to connect to our web service.

  • Scheduled task username changed

    Hi, I created a user on our exchange server, but later changed the username. Now, when I create a scheduled task for that user, and change it's settings (run only when logged on), the username is automatically changed back to the old username. What's causing this and how do I make sure the correct, new username is used for the task (otherwise it won't run), security settings are okay. I did already log in with a different user to delete the profile on the computer and tried again with this user to no avail. The OS is windows xp, the exchange server is on windows server 2003.     I currently use madExcept.MailAsSmtpClient to send my bug reports. However a couple of large clients have upgraded to Exchange Server 2007 and we can't get the SMTP support for our app configured (the app runs on individual workstations so the messages aren't all coming from one IP. We can configure an authenticated account in exchange and access it via SMTP from other clients but it rejects madExcept for some reason). So I have two questions 1) has anyone successfully configured that combo ? or 2) is there an example somewhere of how to use the madExcept.UploadViaHTTP option?

  • PowerShell Script To Find Where SharePoint 2007 Features Are Activated
