  • Intranet Site Authentication Issues on SBS 2008

    Hello, Simply, the Sharepoint intranet site that is automatically installed with SBS 2008 is bound to port 5555 in IIS so to get to it you can browse to server-name:5555 and then authenticate using domain credentials. I have added another binding on port 80 using a host header so intranet.localdomain.local (and added the required record in the DNS). This works fine from any computer on the domain, you can go to the nicer address and authenticate no problem. However, when you browse to the port 80 binding on the local server it reaches it but fails to authenticate. I cannot figure out why and it is really annoying. Not essential to fix but it would be nice. Any ideas? Michael

When I upload it to my production server (under shared hosting) I get Compiler Error Message: CS1061: 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' does not contain a definition for 'TextBoxFor' and no extension method 'TextBoxFor' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) for this code: <%= this.Html.TextBoxFor(person => person.LastName) %> This is one of the new standard extension methods in MVC 2.   • Drawing a WPF UserControl with DataBinding to an Image

    Hey Everyone, So I'm trying to use a WPF User Control to generate a ton of images from a dataset where each item in the dataset would produce an image... I'm hoping I can set it up in such a way that I can use WPF databinding, and for each item in the dataset, create an instance of my user control, set the dependency property that corresponds to my data item, and then draw the user control to an image, but I'm having problems getting it all working (not sure whether databinding or drawing to the image is my problem) Sorry for the massive code dump, but I've been trying to get this working for a couple of hours now, and WPF just doesn't like me (have to learn at some point though...) EDIT 2: Did something I should have done a long time ago, set a background on my canvas, but that didn't change the output image at all, so my problem is most definitely somehow to do with my drawing code (although there may be something wrong with my databinding too)

    How can I change the spellchecking language of a WPF textbox to french using XAML? I tried this but it doesn't work. <TextBox AcceptsReturn="true" SpellCheck.IsEnabled="true" FontSize="12" BorderBrush="Blue" Height="100" Language="fr-fr" /> French is supposed to be one of the 4 supported languages for spellchecking in WPF so I don't understand why it doesn't work. I also tried fr-CA but it still won't work.

  • Prevent ListBox from focusing but leave ListBoxItem(s) focusable (wpf)

    Here is what happens: I have a listbox with items. Listbox has focus. Some item (say, 5th) is selected (has a blue background), but has no 'border'. When I press 'Down' key, the focus moves from ListBox to the first ListBoxItem. (What I want is to make 6th item selected, regardless of the 'border') When I navigate using 'Tab', the Listbox never receives the focus again. But when the collection is emptied and filled again, ListBox itself gets focus, pressing 'Down' moves the focus to the item. How to prevent ListBox from gaining focus? P.S. listBox1.SelectedItem is my own class, I don't know how to make ListBoxItem out of it to .Focus() it.   • How to configure a WCF service to only accept a single client identified by a x509 certificate

    I have a WCF client/service app that relies on secure communication between two machines and I want to use use x509 certificates installed in the certificate store to identify the server and client to each other. I do this by configuring the binding as <security authenticationMode="MutualCertificate"/>. There is only client machine. The server has a certificate issued to server.mydomain.com installed in the Local Computer/Personal store and the client has a certificate issued to client.mydomain.com installed in the same place. In addition to this the server has the client's public certificate in Local Computer/Trusted People and the client has the server's public certificate in Local Computer/Trusted People. Finally the client has been configured to check the server's certificate. I did this using the system.servicemodel/behaviors/endpointBehaviors/clientCredentials/serviceCertificate/defaultCertificate element in the config file. So far so good, this all works. My problem is that I want to specify in the server's config file that only clients that identify themselves with the client.mydomain.com certificate from the Trusted People certificate store are allowed to connect. The correct information is available on the server using the ServiceSecurityContext, but I am looking for a way to specify in app.config that WCF should do this check instead of my having to check the security context from code. Is that possible? Any hints would be appreciated.   • CSS Rollover button bug

    Hi Everyone, I'm trying to create a drop down button and its almost working except one little bug. I have several big buttons that change background color when the user hovers over them and one of them, the language button, displays several suboptions inside itself when the user hovers over it. That all works fine except the language button doesn't change its background color when the user hovers over it. It does change its color if the cursor is just inside the button but not if it touches the 3 sub options. What i need is a technique or a rule that states that the button will change background color if user hovers over it or if the user hovers over one of its children elements. How do I achieve this?     I just ran into an issue where a request made to localhost:8080 from curl was hitting a different server than the same request made from inside Node. lsof -i :8080 revealed that two processes were both binding onto the same port: COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME node 51961 mball 14u IPv4 0xd980e0df7f175e13 0t0 TCP *:http-alt (LISTEN) java 62704 mball 320u IPv6 0xd980e0df7fe08643 0t0 TCP *:http-alt (LISTEN) How is this possible? Were they binding onto different interfaces? Or was it the IPv4 vs 6? If you're curious, node was hitting the other node process, curl was hitting the java process. The java process was started after the node process.

    In both Haskell and OCaml, it's possible to call into the language from C programs. How feasible would it be to create Native applications for either Windows, Mac, or Linux which made extensive use of this technique? (I know that there are GUI libraries like wxHaskell, but suppose one wanted to just have a portion of your application logic in the foreign language.) Or is this a terrible idea?
