    Hi, How can I make a MS-SQL stored function availabe in LINQ expressions if using the Entity framework? The SQL function was created with CREATE FUNCTION MyFunction(@name) ...). I was hoping to access it similarly to this: var data = from c in entities.Users where MyFunction(c.name) = 3; Unfortunately I have only .NET 3.5 available.

  • XmlDocument filter nodes by datetime string

    Trying to apply filter / attribute comparison in the Xmldocument. Obviously , the following code snippet wouldn't work because the expression can't be converted using number() function. (according to the answer of my other question). I'm wondering if there is a way to do the DateTime string comparison in XmlDoc. XmlNodeList test = x2PathDoc.SelectNodes("//Config /Entity [@TargetDateTime> '2010-12-19T03:25:00-08:00']");

  • Rewrite SQL Fulltext Function to return Table only

    I have a MS SQL Fulltext Function like this: (...) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM fishes INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(fishes, *, @keywords, @limit) AS KEY_TBL ON fishes.id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] When I use this function in LINQ, it generates a special return type which includes all fields of my "fishes" table, plus Key and Rank. How could I rewrite above query, or change something in LINQ, to omit Key and Rank and just return my "fishes" results (and to have the fulltext search result objects be of type Fish, which is what I really care about, so I don't have to cast)?

  • Unable to install gem "pg" on Ubuntu 12.10 (AMD64)

    I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to install the "pg" gem on my ruby 1.9.3-p286 but nothing seems to work. I've already installed postgresql (9.1), libpq-dev and a few others like postgresql-server-dev-9.1. I've tried to pass the "with-pg-config" flag to the gem install but simply nothing seems to work. Every time I try to install the gem it outputs something like this: Building native extensions. This could take a while...     I have following problem: I want to check (C#) if thread has finished execution, i.e. if the thread method returned. What I do now is call Thread.Join(1), but this gives 1 ms delay. Is there any way to simply check if thread finished. Inspecting Thread.ThreadState just seems too cumbersome.

Once Normal View is selected all works fine. Is there any way to force Word to open with Normal View instead of Web View?
