  I have 'div' element (recaptchaDiv) in knockout template which is not bound to any observable field: <div id="recaptchaDiv"></div> On the other hand, I update this 'div' by 3rd party library. In particular, this is google recaptcha. This is my code: Recaptcha.create("[my private key]", "recaptchaDiv", { theme: "clean", callback: Recaptcha.ToTest }); And it doesn't work (I see nothing). What I know: trying on FF console: $("#recaptchaDiv").html() - it shows the expected html code, I just can't see it in the browser What I tried: to move recaptchaDiv outside of the template and it works: I can see the captcha in the browser to bind recaptchaDiv on html property: in the template: <div id="recaptchaDiv" data-bind="html: recaptcha"></div> in the model: Recaptcha.create("[my private key]", "recaptchaDiv", { theme: "clean", callback: Recaptcha.ToTest }); recaptcha($("#recaptchaDiv").html()); and it doesn't work (replacing jquery on document.getElementById doesn't help) Any help will be very much appreciated!!! • Share Link - Perform action in background

  I have an application that will accept URLs from the built in web browser via the "Share page" menu item. I'm using the send intent and it works just fine. However, I'd like to accept a URL and process it in the background without bringing my application to the front. I don't want the user to have to actually leave the web browser. It will notify the user it has finished processing the URL with a Toast message. I'm just not sure what type of activity should be used for this. A good example of this behavior is the "Read Later" instapaper application in the android market. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello, This question mixes client-side scripting with server-side parsing. In some cases, I'm writing a cookie to the user's browser using the document.cookie property. In other cases, I'm writing the same cookie to the user's browser through the ASP.NET Response object. When I'm writing the HttpCookie on the server-side, I am using the Values collection (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/system.web.httpcookie.values%28v=VS.80%29.aspx) to store key/value pairs in the cookie. I would also like to be able to write key-value pairs to the cookie through JavaScript. How do I create cookies with Key/Value pairs via JavaScript that ASP.NET can parse? Thank you!

• Ruby string encoding problem

  I've looked at the other ruby/encoding related posts but haven't been able to figure out why the following is not working. Likely just because I'm dense, but here's the situation. Using Ruby 1.9 on windows. I have a set of CSV files that need some data appended to the end of each line. Whenever I run my script, the appended characters are gibberish. The input text appears to be IBM437 encoding, whereas my string I'm appending starts as US-ASCII. Nothing I've tried with respect to forcing encoding on the input strings or the append string seems to change the resultant output. I'm stumped. • Detecting a message box opened in another application

  I am developing a windows service, in vb .et, that launches a legacy application that performs some work. The service acts as a wrapper around the legacy app allowing users to automate an otherwise manual operation. Everything is working great, except occasionally the legacy app displays a messagebox. When it does this the process halts until the message box is closed. As the service will be running on a server there will be no user to close the message box. The service launches the legacy application in a System.Diagnostics.Process. My question is, is there way to detect that a message box has been displayed by a process that I have started using System.Diagnostics.Process and is there a way to through code to close the messagebox. I've tried to be brief so if you need more information please let me know. Thanks in advance Richie

• On activate does not fire with my Modal/Pop-Up form to Requery

  I have a modal/pop-up form frmEditContact open on this form there is a combo box full of addressescmbAddressList, populated by a query. when the user wants to add an address that doesn't exist there is a button that opens the frmAddress where they may add an address. frmAddress allows them to enter an address to the list and gives the option to save, or cancel (both actions close the form after). with this form closed, the focus is now again on frmEditContact I would like to repopulate the combo box using docmd.Requery cmbAddressList after they close the other form I'm not sure where to handle this, I've tried On Avtivate, On Load, On Update, On Open, On Focus...but none of them fire as I keep the frmEditContact open when they are using the other form is there a way to keep frmEditContact open the whole time, but still an action Event that will fire so that I can Requery? And does On Activate not work with modal forms?

• dijit hovering MenuItem issue

  I have a dijit.layout.TabContainer on my form. I resize the browser window in such a way that all tabs won't fit in a single screen. In this case dijit automatically adds a drop-down button at the right end of the TabContainer (I get this for free). If I click on the drop-down button then I get the full List of Tab Names. Hovering over the List of Tab Names (which is in fact a collection of menu items) it blanks out the menu item name which I'm currently over. e.g. Full List: Tab1 Tab2 Tab3 Hovering over Tab2 I get: Tab1 Tab3 I get the same issue with any other dijit.Menu, dijit.MenuItem AND I get the same issue on IE, Firefox, Chrome. I haven't tested on any other browser. Thanks.

  Hi, Is there a way in flex 3 chart component to display both the date and time using horizontal DateTimeAxis? Currently the DateTimeAxis element has an attribute dataunits which allows to set the value to any of "milliseconds|seconds|minutes|hours|days|weeks|months|years" but I want to display the label as "2009/09/15 06:00:00" which includes the day and the time too.   Hi Kernel Gurus, I'm currently writing a simple "multicaster" module. Only one process can open a proc filesystem file for writing, and the rest can open it for reading. To do so i use the inode_operation .permission callback, I check the operation and when i detect someone open a file for writing I set a flag ON. i need a way to detect if a process that opened a file for writing has decided to close the file so i can set the flag OFF, so someone else can open for writing. Currently in case someone is open for writing i save the current-pid of that process and when the .close callback is called I check if that process is the one I saved earlier. Is there a better way to do that? Without saving the pid, perhaps checking the files that the current process has opened and it's permission... Thanks!

• How to force delete cookies even if one window is still open?

  Apparently in IE8, there is this option 'Preserve Favorites website data', even if I uncheck it the browser will still keep the cookies until the last window is closed. Problem scenario. say I logged in to somesite.com, then without out logging out, I closed the window, but there was still another IE8 window open. In this case IE8 will keep the cookies of this site. So If I opened the site again (same window or another) the site won't ask for login info. The client wants the web application to be logged off as soon as the user closes the browser. Can I force delete the cookies IE8 is saving? or maybe I can stop the user from closing the window until I simulate a click on logout button?

  I created a method "UPLPAD2" to upload file to server. Splitting my file to packets(10MB). It's OK (100%). But when i call getInputStream, i get FileNotFoundException. • MS Word to Stylesheet

  Is there an easy way to automatically convert a bunch of MS Word documents to xslt stylesheets that can be displayed in the browser? What I have is a large collection of forms in Word format that have to be displayed in the browser, or sent to the user, with known fields populated from a data source, edited by a user and, finally, printed (including the original headers and footers). The data entered by the user will not need to be saved. I'm not sure if converting the documents to stylesheets is even feasible. Maybe someone has a better idea of how to achieve this? Installing Office on the server is not an option in my case.

  Let's face it: You don't need to be a designer to see that default Javadoc looks ugly. There are some resources on the web which offer re-styled Javadoc. But the default behaviour represents the product and should be as reasonably good-looking. Another problem is the fact that the usability of Javadoc is not up-to-date compared to other similar resources. Especially huge projects are hard to navigate using Firefox's quick search. Practical question: Are there any standalone (desktop) applications which are able to browse existing Javadoc in a more usable way than a browser would? I'm thinking about something like Mono's documentation browser. Theoretical question: Does anyone know, if there some plans to evolve Javadoc, in a somehow-standardized way? • What's the proper way to use sqlite at xCode?

  Hi, Experts: Can you please give some suggestions on sqlite using at xcode? Within my application, I use a sqlite DB to store all local data. Two methods can be used to retrieve those data during running time. 1, Load all the data into memory at initialization stage. (More memory used, less DB open/close operation needed) 2, Read corresponding records when necessary, free the occupied memory after using. (Good habit for memory using, but much DB open/close operations needs). I prefer to use method 2, but not sure whether too many DB opening/closing operations could affect app's efficiency. Or do you think I can 'upgrade' method 2 by opening DB when app launches and closing DB when app quits? Thanks for your suggestions very much!

  Hi, i'm using fancy box for some content editing in my backoffice. I recently added an image manager wich i create with javascript. It's kind of like a fancybox, but i had to do it from scractch for it to be able to overlay the first one. My problem is this: I want to have the user being able to press the escape key to close my manager, but if i use $(window).keypress when i press the esc key, both the boxes close. I have tried $(window).unbind('keypress') when i start loading my box, and i have tried to look through the fancybox js file, but it is minimized. Does anyone know how i can disable and afterwards enable the escape key (during runtime) on the fancybox? Thanx

• HTML table with fixed cells size

  I have an HTML table which has equally divided rows and columns. I would like each cell to be of a fixed size, say 40px width and 30px height. When I change the size of the browser window, the cells size changes also. How can I prevent it ? I would expect to see the scroll bars if browser's window become too small. Is that right to set the height and the width of the cell in pixels ? Thanks !

• Execute a dll function in ASP.Net Bin not working, II7.

  I am developing a remote control application where a client (aspx page in a browser) can request a server to "launch a notepad" (for testing purpose, for real life, turning off a light bulb, etc). So I created a dll with a simple function for launching the notepad (on the server side) and dropped this dll in the root bin folder. It worked fine when the aspx page is running under ASP.NET development server (launched from Visual Studio). But when I tested the same aspx page under a FireFox browser, it did not work (launch the notepad) even though it did call for the same function (I stepped through in debugger). Is this a permission issue? How do I set this up in IIS manager, or even better in web.config? Please help.
