How to have Excel data validation display different data in drop down than is actually validated

How can I provide a user with a drop-down menu in a cell that displays the contents from one column but actually writes the value from a different column to the cell and validates against the values from that second column? Which TCP ports to use?

Is there a TCP port range which I can be sure will not be used by anything else for traffic between two machines? If I am reading RFC6335 correctly, I can be sure that no other applications will use specific ports in the Dynamic/Private/Ephemeral range of 49152-65535. However, if I understand correctly, it also states (section 8.1.2) that an application shouldn't assume that any given port in that range is available at any given time, which would mean I can't be 100% sure that it will be unused all the time. Specifically, I want to assign specific SSH traffic to a different port for the security benefit and so I can classify it differently for QoS purposes, and not have to worry about changing the port in the future.

This behavior disappears, if I comment out the form tags ...unfortunately the form tags are required for an AJAX-submit. Are there any ways to avoid this problem? Excel Subtotal if adjacent column is not blank

I'm trying to create a subtotal for a range that excludes rows that don't have a wholesale price. I have a range of products, prices and units that have subtotals by brand, although the brand subtotal is a sum and not a subtotal because the total needs to be displayed regardless of what the user chooses to filter. These subtotal rows do not have wholesale prices. Here is the sumif formula I'm using to calculate totals in the summary area above the range: =SUMIF(B5:B12, "", D5:D12) I need to have a subtotal formula that works the same way. Is there an equivalent to the sumif formula for subtotals? Or maybe a worksheet function I can use? I need to be able to do this without using VBA.

Anyone have a good algorithm how to parse a String to TreeNode in Java? Let's say we have a string s which says how to build a TreeNode. A(B,C) means that A is the name (String) of TreeNode, B is child of A (Treenode), C is sibling of A (TreeNode). So if I call function with string A(B(D,E(F,G)),C) (just a example), then I get a TreeNode equals to: level A (String: name), B - Child (TreeNode), C - Sibling (TreeNode) level B (String: name), D - Child of B (TreeNode), E - Sibling of B (TreeNode) level E (String: name), F - Child of E (TreeNode), G - Sibling of E (TreeNode) The name may not be 1 letter, it could be like real name (many letters).

It is bound to a tableadapter which is linked to my "RelationshipTypes" table. dbo.RelationshipTypes: ID, Name, OriginConfigTypeID, DestinationConfigTypeID I wish to use a label that will pull the name from the ConfigTypes table, using the "OriginConfigTypeID" and "DestinationTypeID" as the link. dbo.ConfigTypes: ID, Name My problem is, I can't automatically generate Edit and Delete buttons using an Inner Join in my dataset. Or can I? If user name already exists, do not insert into the database and notify user to create a different name. if the username is unique and password is not null, return the username to the user. As of now it always returns "Please enter a different user name." I believe the issue has to do with the database query but I am not sure. Dates that intersect

Hi everyone, I've been researching this problem for awhile now and I can't seem to come to a solution, hopefully someone here can help. Currently I'm working with Microsoft SQL server management, I've been trying to do the following: Previously, the old query would just return the results that fit between two dates Heres the previous query: SELECT e.Name, o.StartDate, o.EndDate FROM dbo.Name e, dbo.Date o WHERE where e.Name = o.Name and o.StartDate <= '2010-09-28 23:59:59' and o.EndDate >= '2010-9-28 00:00:00' and e.Name like 'A' Example table that is produced after the query runs (The real table has a lot more rows obviously :P) : Name Start End A 2010-09-28 07:00:00 2010-09-28 17:00:00 A 2010-09-28 13:45:00 2010-09-28 18:00:00 A 2010-09-28 08:00:00 2010-09-28 16:00:00 A 2010-09-28 07:00:00 2010-09-28 15:30:00 However we need to change this, so that the query does the following: find the dates that intersect for a day x find the dates that don't intersect for a day x I've found a real useful site regarding this http://bloggingabout.net/blogs/egiardina/archive/2008/01/30/check-intersection-of-two-date-ranges-in-sql.aspx However the date to compare against is inputted, mine on the other hand has to all dates that intersect/don't intersect.
