  Hi I am making a simple 2D game in c++ and for the map I am doing texture mapping by using tiles and assigning textures to those tiles. However, when I run the programme the textures become black and white when I want them to be the colour they are in the .png image. • Visual Studio 2008 marks solution files as version 10.00

  Hi After trying out VS2010b2 also my VS2008 installation changes the versions of solution and project files to "Version 10.00". The MSBuild.exe on our CI Server does not support them. Is there a way to make VS2008 generate sln files with version number 9.00 again? I know, i can fix that manually. But each time I open a solution, the version gets changed back, which is annoying. • Weblogic 10.0: SAMLSignedObject.verify() failed to validate signature value

  I've been having this problem for a while and it's driving me nuts. I'm trying to create a client (in C# .NET 2.0) that will use SAML 1.1 to sign on to a WebLogic 10.0 server (i.e., a Single Sign-On scenario, using browser/post profile). The client is on a WinXP machine and the WebLogic server is on a RHEL 5 box. I based my client largely on code in the example here: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/aspnet/DotNetSamlPost.aspx (the source has a section for SAML 1.1). I set up WebLogic based on instructions for SAML Destination Site from here:http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/dev2arch/2006/12/sso-with-saml4.html I created a certificate using makecert that came with VS 2005. makecert -r -pe -n "CN=whatever" -b 01/01/2010 -e 01/01/2011 -sky exchange whatever.cer -sv whatever.pvk pvk2pfx.exe -pvk whatever.pvk -spc whatever.cer -pfx whatever.pfx Then I installed the .pfx to my personal certificate directory, and installed the .cer into the WebLogic SAML Identity Asserter V2. I read on another site that formatting the response to be readable (ie, adding whitespace) to the response after signing would cause this problem, so I tried various combinations of turning on/off .Indent XMLWriterSettings and turning on/off .PreserveWhiteSpace when loading the XML document, and none of it made any difference. I've printed the SignatureValue both before the message is is encoded/sent and after it arrives/gets decoded, and they are the same. So, to be clear: the Response appears to be formed, encoded, sent, and decoded fine (I see the full Response in the WebLogic logs). WebLogic finds the certificate I want it to use, verifies that a key was supplied, gets the signed info, and then fails to validate the signature. But all the instances I could find were memory errors on the part of the programmer. Overruns, etc. And I can't find any docs on when it IS safe to allocate memory. Now, the path that expands there is nowhere near 400 characters. it's this (it it completes): /Users/flake/ak-plugins/ and this: /Users/flake/ ...if it doesn't. the strcpy... copies 2nd param to first. Theirs to mine. And it works! under 10.5. :/ So is wordexp broke? Is 10.6 broke? Am I cRaZy?   i have taken over a database that stores fitness information and we were having a debate about a certain table and whether it should stay as one table or get broken up into three tables. Today, there is one table called: workouts that has the following fields id, exercise_id, reps, weight, date, person_id So if i did 2 sets of 3 different exercises on one day, i would have 6 records in that table for that day. for example: id, exercise_id, reps, weight, date, person_id 1, 1, 10, 100, 1/1/2010, 10 2, 1, 10, 100, 1/1/2010, 10 3, 1, 10, 100, 1/1/2010, 10 4, 2, 10, 100, 1/1/2010, 10 5, 2, 10, 100, 1/1/2010, 10 6, 2, 10, 100, 1/1/2010, 10 So the question is, given that there is some redundant data (date, personid, exercise_id) in multiple records, should this be normalized to three tables WorkoutSummary: - id - date - person_id WorkoutExercise: - id - workout_id (foreign key into WorkoutSummary) - exercise_id WorkoutSets: - id - workout_exercise_id (foreign key into WorkoutExercise) - reps - weight I would guess the downside is that the queries would be slower after this refactoring as now we would need to join 3 tables to do the same query that had no joins before. The benefit of the refactoring allows up in the future to add new fields at the workout summary level or the exercise level with out adding in more duplication. any feedback on this debate?

For example, for project_id 10 & thread_id 30 you see: 10 - 30 - yada yada yada yada yada 10 - 30 - xxxxx 10 - 30 - yada yada yada yada yada What I would like to learn how to do in ruby, is some how create an array and aggreate descriptions under a project_id and thread_id, so instead the output is: 10 - 30 - yada yada yada yada yada - xxxxx - yada yada yada yada yada Any advice on where to get started? This requirement is new for me so I would appreciate your thoughts on what you're thinking the best way to solve this is.Hopefully this can be done in ruby and not sql, as the activity feed is likely going to grow in event types and complexity.   I've successfully installed the latest version of PyDev in my Eclipse (3.5.1) under OS X 10.6.3, with python 2.6.1 I have troubles in making the libraries I have installed work. For example, I'm trying to use the cx_Oracle library, which is perfectly working if called from the python interpeter of from simple scripts made with some text editor. • Large OSX 10.6 to Windows 7 smb transfers fail?

  I'm connecting to a windows 7 box from a OSX 10.6 box via smb: smb://ftp1 Connection works fine, I can transfer individual files one at a time, but as soon as I try and move an entier folder I get the following error: The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “test” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36) This error happens on all our OSX boxes when trying to push the entier folder to the Win7 box. The folder TEST in the above error message has -R 777 permissions. I can move every image file to the windows box one by one with no errors. But if I try an move the entier folder. bam error out. This error seems to kill the smb client on the Windows box as well. There's an FTP server on the windows box and I can FTP in from the OSX box and move everything just fine. Not sure what is going on here?

  I've been having problems with a MySQL Server installation that got messed up after a power outage. Configuration Intel i5 Mac running OS X 10.6.5 Ruby 1.9.2 installed Rails 3.0.1 installed MySQL Server (finally) installed and running I completely reinstalled MySQL, which deleted the local development/test/production databases. So, I have run create database development; in MySQL to get the dev database ready for a migration. Current Goal Run rake db:migrate to get my databases back again. (I cannot currently access my databases or Mysql at all from Rails.) • Ruby Rails Mongrel Sever failing to serve OXS1.6

  Hi there I'm fairly new to Rails and the Mac, and doing my first deploy... I'm trying to set up my rails app on a brand new Apple mini-server running OXS1.6 (Snow Leopard). It is currently running fine on my new iMac i7 (same OS). I start mongrel with this command: mongrel_rails start -e production -p 3000 -d -a 127.0.0.1 --debug And it starts giving this output in the log/mongrel.log ** Daemonized, any open files are closed. Look at log/mongrel.pid and log/mongrel.log for info. ** Starting Mongrel listening at 127.0.0.1:3000 ** Installing debugging prefixed filters. I'm pretty good at figuring things out if I have some log file messages to direct me, but mongrel.log has no error message (the output remains the same as above), and the log/production.log is empty (which makes me think rails has not started?). My gems are all the same versions between machines and so is the app code; and there are no clues I can see in any of the mongrel_debug logs, except that rails.log on the mac mini-server and the iMac are different.   I used the sample program from the arduino website in order to send and receive data via serial to my Arduino one. However, for some reason, even when I try to send only one byte, the Arduino crashes after a while. It doesn't happen if I send the chars manually via the IDE's own serial monitor. • Create USB installer from the command line?

  I'm trying to create a bootable USB image to install Ubuntu on a new computer. I have done this before following the "create USB drive" instructions for Ubuntu desktop, but I don't have an Ubuntu desktop available. How can I do the same using only the command line? Things I've tried: Create bootable USB on Mac OS X following the ubuntu.com "create USB drive" instructions for Mac: Doesn't boot. usb-creator: According to apt-cache search usb-creator and Wikipedia usb-creator only exists as a graphical tool. "Create manually" instructions at help.ubuntu.com: None of the files and directories described (e.g. casper, filesystem.manifest, menu.lst) exist in the ISO image, and I don't know what has replaced them. unetbootin scripting: Requires X server (graphics support) to run, even when fully scripted. (The command sudo unetbootin lang=en method=diskimage isofile=~/ubuntu-10.10-server-amd64.iso installtype=USB targetdrive=/dev/sdg1 autoinstall=yes gives an error message unetbootin: cannot connect to X server.) Update Also tried GRUB fiddling: Merging information from pendrivelinux.com a related question on the Linux Stackexchange and a grub configuration example I was able to get halfway there - it booted from USB, displayed the grub menu and started the installation, but installation did not complete. (Naturally, as the box I'm installing on doesn't have an optical drive.) I resolved this particular issue by giving up and doing the "create USB drive" routine using the Ubuntu Live desktop CD (on a computer that does have an optical drive), then the USB install works. But I expect that there is some way to do this from the command line of an Ubuntu system without X server and without an optical drive, so the question still stands. Does anyone know how?

  We are rolling out a large deployment of SQL Server Reporting Services Reports and our platform is SQL Server 2005 so our Report Server is version 2005 running in Native mode. Our web application uses server reports rendered in the Report Viewer 9.0 control. We want to be able to use local reports based on the 2008 RDL spec to create some dashboard applications. We also would like to use the new report viewer 10.0 to viewer these reports. Is there a way to run these both Side-By-Side in the same project? If so how would we go about that? Create a custom server control?

  I am trying to use escape charaters in my text output, as i would like too surround the output in emailData tags. • Weblogic server 10.0 - Managed Server shutting down

  We have a weblogic server 10.0 instance which has a cluster with one managed server. Every Monday at 5am (or few seconds after), it shuts down on its own. The logs do not show any errors except the following message: JVM called WLS shutdown hook. The server will force shutdown now. JVM has a -Xnohup option and using JRockit. There is no cron job on the server. I am not sure how to debug this one. Admin Server keeps running with no issues and I am able to start the managed server back up with no problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
