• Drupal 6: creating location list manually or dynamically via cms...

  Hi friends, I'm starting my first Drupal project, pretty excited :) I have a question; the project is a hotel directory site. at sidebar I have locations list (London, Manchester, Liverpool, etc..) and filter the hotels related on location click. So, how should I create these cities? Should I put them manually and give links manually depending on location id? or is there any better way to create this location list and linking filtering dynamically (via cms, or custom module, etc...) Appreciate advices!!!!

  I have a GWT + AppEngine application that lets users create online polls. I want to let the poll creator choose from a variety of themes for his poll. We will save the theme a poll creator chose on the server and whenever a poll respondent access the poll he will get the questions with the chosen theme. A theme for us means a set of 4-5 colors which we will use to style the poll page. Our client side application is a GWT application with styles set inline in UiBinder templates elements, for example: <ui:style> .header { background: color1; padding: 6px 6px; } .anothercssclass { background: color2; padding: 6px 6px; } </ui:style> Please suggest how we can set the color1 and color2 from the theme saved on server. • unittest in python: ignore an import from the code I want to test

  I have a python program that imports pythoncom (and uses pythoncom.CoCreateInstance from it). I want to create a unittest for the program logic without it importing pythoncom (so I can run the test on Linux as well). What options are there? Can I do it without modifying the system under test? What I found so far: sys.modules["pythoncom"] = "test" import module_that_imports_pythoncom My problem with it is if I have: from pythoncom.something import something I'll get: ImportError: No module named something.something And sys.modules["something.something"] or sys.modules["pythoncom.something.something"] doesn't work. Any ideas?

• Python sqlite3 and concurrency

  I have a Python program that uses the "threading" module. Once every second, my program starts a new thread that fetches some data from the web, and stores this data to my hard drive. I would like to use sqlite3 to store these results, but I can't get it to work. The issue seems to be about the following line: conn = sqlite3.connect("mydatabase.db") If I put this line of code inside each thread, I get an OperationalError telling me that the database file is locked. I guess this means that another thread has mydatabase.db open through a sqlite3 connection and has locked it. If I put this line of code in the main program and pass the connection object (conn) to each thread, I get a ProgrammingError, saying that SQLite objects created in a thread can only be used in that same thread. Previously I was storing all my results in CSV files, and did not have any of these file-locking issues. Hopefully this will be possible with sqlite. Any ideas?

  I am writing a C/C++ extension module for other languages and I am using SWIG to generate the bindings. I have two questions Can I include more than 1 header file in the declaration part of the interface file e.g.: /* Declarations exposed to wrapper: */ > %{ > #define SWIG_FILE_WITH_INIT > #include "a.h" > #include "b.h" > #include "c.h" %} In all of the examples I have seen so far, after the header include declaration (as shown above), the functions declared in the header are then declared again in the interface file. Is this really necessary, as it means there are two copies of the function declarations that need to be maintained. Note: I can appreciate that some functions/methods declaration may need to be 'decorated' with the 'newobject' declaration so these obviously need to be in the interface file, to avoid memory leaks - however, I would have though that it would be sufficient to include the headers and then ONLY the declarations of the functions/methods that need to be declared with 'newobject' - is this recommended way of doing things?

  hi, I've installed Taxonomy SuperSelect module in my Drupal. Now my customer can not only type the tag for some content types pages but also select multiple tags using checkboxes. I've also ordered the chekboxes alphabetically. However few days ago, I noticed that he can't anymore manually type the tags.. see picture: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/72686/multiSelect.png Can you help me how to solve this issue ? For outputing MS and Open format, there is no problem, all work properly. But what I want to know is, if I can output something (like XML or HTML) which I can use after to build a PDF document? If I can't, are there any libraries which provide merge document like : DOCX (or ODT) + database record => PDF And I don't want use phplivedocx.

  I want to use Python to make a configuration file generator. My roughly idea is feeding input with template files and some XML files with the real settings. Then use the program to generate the real configuration files. I got several questions: Is there any open source configuration generator program? (what could be the keyword), I wonder if there's anything can be added/modified in the design. Does Python have good XML parser module? Is it good idea to use XML file to save the original settings? I've been thinking to use Excel since it's more intuitive to maintain, but harder for program to parse. Not sure how people deal with this. Hope the community can give me some suggestions.   I have a python script which reads email addresses from a database for a particular date, example today, and sends out an email message to them one by one. It reads data from MySQL using the MySQLdb module and stores all results in a dictionary and sends out emails using : rows = cursor.fetchall () #All email addresses returned that are supposed to go out on todays date. for row is rows: #send email However, my hosting service only lets me send out 500 emails per hour. How can I limit my script from making sure only 500 emails are sent in an hour and then to check the database if more emails are left for today or not and then to send them in the next hour. The script is activated using a cron job.

  I'm having a little problem with constant scope in mixin modules. Let's say I have something like this module Auth USER_KEY = "user" unless defined? USER_KEY def authorize user_id = session[USER_KEY] def end The USER_KEY constant should default to "user" unless it's already defined. Now I might mix this into a couple of places, but in one of those places the USER_KEY needs to be different, so we might have something like this class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base USER_KEY = "my_user" include Auth def test_auth authorize end end I would expect that USER_KEY would be "my_user" when used in authorize, since it's already defined, but it's still "user", taken from the modules definition of USER_KEY. Anyone have any idea how to get authorize to use the classes version of USER_KEY?

• Drupal Views: Render Null Result for Relationship as 0

  I have a View configured in Drupal to return nodes, sorting them by their average vote in descending order. For the purpose of the View, the value of the average votes is a Relationship. I noticed that nodes with no votes are displayed after nodes with a negative average. Nodes with no votes should have an average of 0, but I believe the MySQL JOIN is causing NULL values to be returned (as there are no matching rows in the joined table, since a row is created after the first vote is cast for that item). I discovered that with MySQL it is possible to output all values that are NULL in a column as another value with IFNULL(column_name,'other value'). I feel like I would need to modify the Views module in order to obtain this functionality, but I'm hoping that there is some sort of option that returns NULL values in a relation (a relation doesn't exist for the item) as 0 instead of NULL, so that I can properly sort the nodes. The modules I am using include Views, Voting API, Vote Up/Down, and CTools. Thanks.

  I'm producing HTML from twitter search results. Happily using the Net::Twitter module :-) One of the rules in Twitter is that all-numeric hashtags are not links. This allows to unambiguously tweet things like "ur not my #1 anymore", as in here: http://twitter.com/natarias2007/status/11246320622 The solution I came up with looks like: $tweet =~ s{#([0-9]*[A-Za-z_]+[0-9]*)}{<a href="http://twitter.com/search?q=%23$1">#$1</a>}g; It seems to work (let's hope), but I'm still curious... how would you do it?

  Hi, I need to find all invocations of some logging macros in the code. The macro invocation is of the form: DEBUG[1-5] ( "methodName: the logged message", arguments) But the new versions of the macros are prepending the name of the method automatically, so my task is to write a Python script that will remove the duplicate function names specified already by the programmer. I'm using the sub function from the re module. I plan to substitute the part indicated by || signs below : ||DEBUG[1-5] ("methodName: || the logged message", arguments) with simply DEBUG[1-5](" The problem is following: To find the expressions I want to substitute, I use the following regular expression: ((DEBUG | INFO | all other macros names )[1-5]*)\s*\(\"\w+: But it doesn't match the whole expression ( from DEBUG right to the colon ), but only the macro name, that is for example DEBUG5. Is my expression wrong or there is some quirk in the Python regex processing? ( maybe the fact that I use the DEBUG[1-5] as a subgroup has something to do with this? ) Help from anyone more knowledgable than me appreciated :).

• Some confusion with a class variable, but with a twist...

  I have a class called MyPackage.WebServer and it has a property called DBEngine. I am also dynamically loading a module and class using load_module. Inside this class, it attempts to reference MyPackage.WebServer. When it does though, DBEngine is not set to the value given when WebServer is instantiated. It's the default (None). Would the fact that I'm using load_module cause a different object graph to be created and thus isolate my dynamically loaded class from the rest of my python app?

• NHibernate will insert but not update after move to host with shared server running mysql.

  Hi, I have a site running MVC and Nhibernate (not fluent) using standard session per request in an http module, runs fine locally (also with mysql) but after a move to a hosting provider no update statements are being issued. I can insert but not update, no exceptions are raised, I have the 'show_sql' option switched on which locally shows the update statements being issued but on the server no update statements are logged. I don't think NHProf is an option for me as I can only run asp.net apps on my shared server, are there any other methods of diagnosing NH issues like this ? Anyone had a similar issue ? Cheers, A

• Apache crashes after installing mysqli

  System: Apache 2.2 running on Windows 2008 Server with PHP 5.2.17 VC6 Thread-Safe as a Module and MySQL 5.5.17 - all working fine. After installing mysqli using the php package, Apache won't start anymore. There is no error message in the log. What I have tried: Make sure Windows PATH points to libmysql.dll: Yes, done. Make sure extension_dir points to the right point: Yes. Other extensions load fine. Try without mysqli: Yes, Apache loads fine then. Try without mysql: Yes, does not help. Test mysql itself: Restarts server! Overwrite libmysql: Yes, does not help. It seems to me that there is some general problem with MySql, but the DB server seems to be running fine. I'm really out of ideas of things I could try, so I'm desperate for any hints or tricks.

  Is there anyway to use the built-in DNN Menu module to display a menu based at a different root node other than the current tab node? Given the following structure: Page1 -child1_1 -child1_2 Page3 Page2(hidden) -child2_1 -child2_2 In this scenario I will be having 2 menus on this skin. One will be normal navigation based off of the current node and the other will be a set of 'static' links to pages located outside the current node. When on Page1 the normal navigation will show Page1, Page3 and the children of Page1 nested under Page1. The 'static' links will use 'Page2' as their root and will show child2_1 and child2_2.
