• How to move/drag multiple images with CALayer???

  I have more than 10 images in screen and i want to move each image using CALayer concept. While am trying to move first image,its working. Even when i drag my second image also, its working. But after that when i get back to first image and when i try to move , am struck up. its not working. I dono where it went wrong. • Calling ASP.NET Web API using JQuery ajax - cross site scripting issue

  I have a Web API which I am calling using the JQuery ajax function. When I test the service directly (using the Chrome RESTEasy extension) it works fine, however when I call it using the JQuery ajax function I get an error. I'm calling it on port 81: $.ajax({ url: "http://127.0.0.1:81/api/people", data: JSON.stringify(personToCreate), type: "POST", contentType: "application/json;charset=utf-8", statusCode: { 201: function (newPerson) { callback(newPerson); } }, success: function (newPerson) { alert("New person created with an Id of " + newPerson.Id); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert('Error. '+errorThrown); } }); ...but when I trace it using FireBug Lite the response comes from port 82: {"Message":"No HTTP resource was found that matches the request URI 'http://127.0.0.1:82/api/people'.","MessageDetail":"No action was found on the controller 'People' that matches the request."} I think the error is, effectively, due to cross-site scripting being blocked, but I'm not actually cross-site scripting, if you see what I mean. Has anyone else come across this and been able to fix it? Edit: Routing config (global.asax.vb) is: RouteTable.Routes.MapHttpRoute(name:="DefaultApi", routeTemplate:="api/{controller}/{id}", defaults:=New With {Key .id = System.Web.Http.RouteParameter.Optional}) Controller: Public Function PostValue(ByVal departmentid As Integer, ByVal emailaddress As String, ByVal firstname As String, ByVal lastname As String) As Guid Dim context As New WSMModelDataContext Dim bllPeople As New PeopleBLL(context) Return bllPeople.Create(firstname, lastname, emailaddress, departmentid) End Function When I debug it, it doesn't get as far as running the controller, although when calling it through RESTEasy it routes correctly and the controller executes successfully. The only difference seemes to be that wen called through RESTEasy it is (correctly) using http://127.0.0.1:81 but for some reason when called via JQuery/ajax it seems to be using http://127.0.0.1:82.

• Modifying records in my migration throws an authlogic error

  I'm adding some columns to one of my database tables, and then populating those columns: def self.up add_column :contacts, :business_id, :integer add_column :contacts, :business_type, :string Contact.reset_column_information Contact.all.each do |contact| contact.update_attributes(:business_id => contact.client_id, :business_type => 'Client') end remove_column :contacts, :client_id end The line contact.update_attributes is causing the following Authlogic error: You must activate the Authlogic::Session::Base.controller with a controller object before creating objects I have no idea what is going on here - I'm not using a controller method to modify each row in the table. Nor am I creating new objects. The error doesn't occur if the contacts table is empty. I've had a google and it seems like this error can occur when you run your controller tests, and is fixed by adding before_filter :activate_authlogic to them, but this doesn't seem relevant in my case. Any ideas? I'm stumped.

• SQL2008 merge replication fails to update depdendent items when table is added

  Setup: an existing SQL2008 merge replication scenario. A large server database, including views and stored procs, being replicated to client machines. What I'm doing: * adding a new table to the database * mark the new table for replication (using SP_AddMergeArticle) * alter a view (which is already part of the replicated content) is updated to include fields from this new table (which is joined to the tables in the existing view). A stored procedure is similarly updated. The problem: the table gets replicated to client machines, but the view is not updated. The stored procedure is also not updated. Non-useful workaround: if I run the snapshot agent after calling SP_AddMergeArticle and before updating the view/SP, both the view and the stored procedure changes correctly replicate to the client. The bigger problem: I'm running a list of database scripts in a transaction, as part of a larger process. The snapshot agent can't be run during a transaction, and if I interrupt the transaction (e.g. by running the scripts in multiple transactions), I lose the ability to roll back the changes should something fail. Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems like I must be missing something obvious, because I don't see why the changes to the view/sproc wouldn't be replicating anyway, regardless of what's going on with the new table.

  Hi, I'm changing the back button item title in the viewDidAppear of a controller in the following way: self.navigationController.navigationBar.backItem.title = @"Previous"; It changes the tittle properly, but the I'm having a strange behaviour. When I select the "previous" button, it changes the tittle of the controller that is up in the stack (i.e the parent controller now has the title "Previous". Do you now why this happened ??? I think I could use a delegate/event solution, but I'm not sure how to apply it here.   I'm using Kohana 3 to create a website that has two applications, an admin application and the actual site frontend. I have separated my folders to have the two applications separated, so the hierarchy looks as follows: /applications /admin /classes /controller /... /site /classes /controller /.... My question is, how I need to go about creating a shared /model folder. Essentially, both the admin and site itself operates on the same data, so the database layer and business logic remains more or less the same. So to me, it makes sense to have a single model folder, sitting outside of the two application folders. Is it possible to achieve the following hierarchy: /applications /model --> Where model sits in a neatly generic location, accessible to all applications /admin /classes /controller /... /site /classes /controller /....   I am new to Rails routing and I currently have a problem and hope someone can explain it to me. I am using Rails 2.3.5 Firstly, let me describe my working-fine code: I have a text example, which has a controller (cars_controller) with an update action (along with some other actions). The update action needs the :id parameter. The edit.html.erb has a form: <% form_for :car, :url = {:controller = 'cars', :action = 'update' } % ... # rest of the form content. In the configuration/routes.rb, I have a self-defined routing rule for update: map.connect 'car/update/:id', :controller = 'cars', :action = 'update' This works fine. Secondly, I change the code. All I change is the self-defined routing rule to map.connect 'car/:action/:id, :controller = 'cars' To me, this rule covers the self-written routing rule. Of course, this rule is also used by other actions such as edit. But the edit.html.erb doesn't work. It complains that update action misses the :id parameter. I have to change the form_for helper to: <% form_for :car, :url = {:controller = 'cars', :action = 'update', :id = @car }% ... # @car is the instance passed to edit view. I know that if missing the :id parameter, update action will complain. What I don't understand is why my first code works (with my self-defined routing rule) but my second code fails. It seems to me that I didn't provide :id parameter in my self-defined routing rule. Anyone has an idea?

• SWT TabFolder: Weird Drawing Behaviour

  Hello StackOverflow Experts Description I have an SWT Page with a TabFolder with a number of dynamically created TabItems. On each TabItem i crate a Composite and set the TabItem.setControl() to the Composite. I then use this Composite as the page on which i draw my items. I draw a set of Controls, including Textbox's and Labels. For the First, Default Tab, this works fine. No problems. Problem On tabs that is not the first tab i have the following problems: I am unable to visually alter then Edited/Enabled state of my Controls. I am unable to visually set the Text content of my elements My Controls look disabled and have a Greyed out look. But i am able to Select the content with my mouse and use CTRL+C to copy it out. So the text contet is there and they are Editable. Visually it is just not updated. Any comments are appeciated, Any requests for code, examples will be supplied and help Welcommed. Updates I tried added the suggest debug loop to the code, where i attempt to enable my Controls. • Bad disks in ancient server

  I have a 1998-era Netware 3.12 server that runs everything on our campus: general ledger, purchasing, payroll, student information, grades, you name it. The server has an Adaptec RAID controller with two volumes: RAID 1, 2 17GB scsi disks, Seagate ST318417W RAID 5, 3 4GB scsi disks, 2 Seagate ST34573W and 1 ST34572W. We are currently in the early stages of a project to replace this system, but you don't just jump into a new system like that and so I need to keep this server running until at least November 2011. This week we had not one but two hard drives fail. Thankfully they are from different volumes and we're able to keep running for the moment, but given the close nature of these failures I have serious doubts that I'll be able to avoid catastrophic failure from this server through the November target as is without restoring the RAID redundancy — it'll only take one more drive failure anywhere and I'm completely hosed. We are fortunate enough to have exact match "spares" lying around for both drives, but the spares are in unknown condition. I tried swapping just them in, but the RAID controller isn't smart enough to handle this and it renders the system unbootable. As for the RAID controller itself, there is utility I can get into during POST via a Ctrl-A shortcut, but I can't do much useful from there. To actually manage volumes I must first boot in to Netware, at which point I can use CI/O Array Management Software Version 2.0 to actually look at volume information. I suspect that the normal way to manage things is to boot from a special floppy with the controller software on it, but that floppy is long gone. Going through the options in the RAID software, I think the only supported way to replace a disk in an existing RAID volume is to physically add the disk, boot up and configure it as a "spare" for a volume, force the volume to use the spare to replace an existing down disk (and at this point I'm only guessing) so that the down disk becomes the spare, repair the volume, remove the spare from the volume, and then shut down and remove the disk. Then start all over for the other failed disk. All this amounts to a lot of downtime, assuming I can even make it work and that my spares are any good. As for finding reliable spares, I have no clue where to even begin looking to find a new 4GB scsi drive, or even which exact scsi system I'm looking for, as it's gone through a few different iterations over time. Another option is to migrate this to a virtual machine (hyper-v), but all previous attempts we've made in this area have failed to get very far. When this machine was installed I was just graduating from high school, and so it requires lower level knowledge of netware and dos than I ever developed, or if I did have since forgotten (I'm not exactly a dos neophyte, either). Part of my problem is this is a high-use server, and taking it down for a few days to figure things out isn't gonna fly very well. As for the question, I'm looking for anything that might be helpful in this situation: a recommendation on a place to find good spares from this era, personal experience repairing RAID volumes using a similar controller or building a hyper-v vm from an old netware server, a line on a floppy with better software for the RAID controller, recommendation on a good Novell consultant in Nebraska that would be able to put things right, a whole other option I haven't considered yet, etc. Update: For backups, we have good (recently verified via restore) backups of the data only -- nothing for the software that actually runs things. Update 2: Just a progress report that I currently have a working Netware 3.12 install in VMWare Virtual Server 2.0, thanks largely to the guide I found here: http://cerbulescubogdan.blogspot.com/2010/11/novell-netware-312-on-vmware.html The next steps are preparing empty netware volumes to match the additional volumes on my existing server, taking a dump of everything on the C:\ drive and netware volumes on my existing server, and figuring out from that information what modules need added to netware, installing my licenses (we do still have that disk, if it's any good), and moving data over. I have approval to bring the server down for a week after the first of the year (sadly not before), so, aside from creating empty volumes, the rest of the work will have to wait until then. Final Update (Jan 5, 2011): I was able to get spares working in both raid arrays without data loss this week. Both are now listed by the controller as "FAULT TOLLERANT" (yay!). I was also able to build on the progress from my last update and now have a functional "spare" server in VMWare Server 2.0. The spare can run and use our erp software, but I can't put it into production because I can't (yet) print from that box (and I have no idea why). Even so, this VM will do in a pinch if I have no other choice, and between it and the repaired RAID arrays I'm comfortable pushing on until I can junk the machine in November.

• Separate functionality depending on Role in ASP.NET MVC

  I'm looking for an elegant pattern to solve this problem: I have several user roles in my system, and for many of my controller actions, I need to deal with slightly different data. For example, take /Users/Edit/1 This allows a Moderator to edit a users email address, but Administrators to edit a user's email address and password. I'd like a design for separating the two different bits of action code for the GET and the POST. Solutions I've come up with so far are: Switch inside each method, however this doesn't really help when i want different model arguments on the POST :( Custom controller factory which chooses a UsersController_ForModerators and UsersController_ForAdmins instead of just UsersController from the controller name and current user role Custom action invoker which choose the Edit_ForModerators method in a similar way to above Have an IUsersController and register a different implementation of it in my IoC container as a named instance based on Role Build an implementation of the controller at runtime using Castle DynamicProxy and manipulate the methods to those from role-based implementations Im preferring the named IoC instance route atm as it means all my urls/routing will work seamlessly. Ideas? Suggestions?

• Reloading the model of a TTTableViewController

  My problem is that I have a Register Controller and a Login Controller. The Login Screen displays a Login Screen or a Logout Screen depending if a user is logged in. Now when a user registers, does not close the app, and then goes to the Login Screen it will still display a Login Screen, although there is a logged in user already. This is because the Screen is created when the application loads and does not change afterwards. I tried doing this: - (id)init { if (self = [super init]) { [self invalidateModel]; [self reload]; but that did not work, since it is only called on the first init. then i tried: - (void)viewDidLoad { [self invalidateModel]; [self reload]; } But that method had the same problem. Then I found this method: - (TTNavigationMode)navigationModeForURL:(NSString*)URL; with the following options: typedef enum { TTNavigationModeNone, TTNavigationModeCreate, // a new view controller is created each time TTNavigationModeShare, // a new view controller is created, cached and re-used TTNavigationModeModal, // a new view controller is created and presented modally TTNavigationModeExternal, // an external app will be opened } TTNavigationMode; It seems like TTNavigationModeCreate would be the right thing to use, but I have no clue how to use it. After someone logs in as User, they can click on links that send them away into the system and away from the users controller. This is an incredibly noob question, but how can I access that User's ID and other attributes from anywhere else, such as an unrelated view or unrelated controller? • How do I reuse code in Zend Framework

  I am working on a web application which requires the user to login before they see or do anything. No part of this app should be accessible without being logged in. (Except of course, the login controller) Currently I am using sessions to handle the authentication and I have put code in each controller in the init() function to check if their session is valid. This was a temporary workaround, but it is redundant and inefficient. I would like my init() function to be similar to the following, but I am not sure how to achieve it: public function init() { // If user not logged in redirect to login controller $myLibrary = Zend_Library_MyLibrary(); $myLibrary->CheckAuth(); } So my question really has two parts: Where is the best place to store code that will be used in multiple controllers? • Validation control issue

  Hello, I have a multiview that simulates a menu with different kind of options. Each view within the multiview control holds a bunch of controls (listbox, label, etc..) Everything worked just fine, until i wanted to implement Validation control(s). For example when i click on my menu viewA gets displayed with its controls. There i wish to implement a RequiredFieldValidator. But the problem is, if i click on a other menu option (which is in fact a other view in my multiview) then it gives the error message 'Please enter a message" which is the errorMessage of the first RequiredFieldValidator of the first menu option (first view). All my controls are named with a unique name, so there is no mixup amongst the ControlToValidate="" Offcourse this is not suitable, cause those menu choices are indepentant. And its not the intention i have to fill in everything, cause its a menu afterall, and not a form where i have to enter everything at once. How can i have a RequiredFieldValidator on my views that do not take each other in account? • What is the best practice for adding persistence to an MVC model?

  I'm in the process of implementing an ultra-light MVC framework in PHP. It seems to be a common opinion that the loading of data from a database, file etc. should be independent of the Model, and I agree. What I'm unsure of is the best way to link this "data layer" into MVC. Datastore interacts with Model //controller public function update() { $model = $this->loadModel('foo'); $data = $this->loadDataStore('foo', $model); $data->loadBar(9); //loads data and populates Model $model->setBar('bar'); $data->save(); //reads data from Model and saves } Controller mediates between Model and Datastore Seems a bit verbose and requires the model to know that a datastore exists. //controller public function update() { $model = $this->loadModel('foo'); $data = $this->loadDataStore('foo'); $model->setDataStore($data); $model->getDataStore->loadBar(9); //loads data and populates Model $model->setBar('bar'); $model->getDataStore->save(); //reads data from Model and saves } Datastore extends Model What happens if we want to save a Model extending a database datastore to a flatfile datastore? //controller public function update() { $model = $this->loadHybrid('foo'); //get_class == Datastore_Database $model->loadBar(9); //loads data and populates $model->setBar('bar'); $model->save(); //saves } Model extends datastore This allows for Model portability, but it seems wrong to extend like this. • Zend Framework: Zend_DB Error

  I'm trying to learn ZF, but got strange error after 20 minutes :) Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Db_Adapter_Exception' with message 'Configuration array must have a key for 'dbname' that names the database instance' What does this error mean? I got DB information in my config file: resources.db.adapter=pdo_mysql resources.db.host=localhost resources.db.username=name resources.db.password=pass resources.db.dbname=name Any suggestions?
