• __defineSetter__ on innerHTML stops it from rendering

  Hi, i'm trying to create a watch method for HTML elements, using __define[GS]etter__ when a property is changed. It reacts just fine when i set the value, but if the property listened to, is innerHTML, it somehow fails to render the given string. So basically, when im adding something to innerHTML it doesn't show. Im using the watch method described in this previous question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1269633/javascript-watch-for-object-properties-changes I could of cause just not listen to innerHTML changes, but i'm also wondering if the __defineSetter__ somehow prevents original handling of setting the value. • Structure of Astar (A*) graph search data in C#

  How do you structure you graphs/nodes in a graph search class? I'm basically creating a NavMesh and need to generate the nodes from 1 polygon to the other. The edge that joins both polygons will be the node. I'll then run A* on these Nodes to calculate the shortest path. I just need to know how to structure my classes and their properties? I know for sure I wont need to create a fully blown undirected graph with nodes and edges.

• Ant loadfile override property

  Hi, I'm trying to use the Ant task <loadfile> in a loop to parse the contents of a file. I have something like <loadfile srcFile="@{some.input}" property="my.property"> Since Ant properties are immutable, this doesn't work for me. I need 'my.property' to update on every iteration. Is there a way to achieve this? I know Ant-contrib has a <var> task but I'm not sure how to use <loadfile> with it. Any recommendations? Thanks.

  Often, I have a list of objects. Each object has properties. I want to extract a subset of the list where a specific property has a predefined value. Example: I have a list of User objects. A User has a homeTown. I want to extract all users from my list with "Springfield" as their homeTown. I normally see this accomplished as follows: List users = getTheUsers(); List returnList = new ArrayList(); for (User user: users) { if ("springfield".equalsIgnoreCase(user.getHomeTown()) returnList.add(user); } I am not particularly satisfied with this solution. Yes, it works, but it seems so slow. There must be a non-linear solution. Suggestions?

When installing the second time I'd like that the ancient value will not be overridden. 1) What kind of "Condition" should I set in the setup properties of ServerIp registry key. 2) Is it possible to recuperate the ancient value from registry and display it in the "ServerIp" textBox in the installer dialog box? • Linking error in OMNeT++ using Boost serialization library

  I'm very new to OMNeT++ and I'd like to use the serialization-library contained in the boost framework. However, when trying to use it, I get quite many errors such as: Description Resource Path Location Type undefined reference to `boost::archive::archive_exception::~archive_exception()' OmCCN line 36, external location: /home/alexander/UniBE/BT/simulator/boost-compiledLibs /include/boost/serialization/throw_exception.hpp C/C++ Problem . I guess the problem is that I didn't yet link the compiled library in OMNeT. I've had a look at the makefile but any changes there are worthless since it is generated automatically by makemake. Furthermore, trying to access the menu item 'makemake' in project properties OMNeT++ IDE throws an error (The currently displayed page contains invalid values). Can anyone give me a hint concerning what the error could cause or how to link the compiled library correctly? Any hints are very appreciated! cheers alex

  Prior to .net 4.0, I implemented a solution using named data slots in System.Threading.Thread. Now, in .net 4.0, there is the idea of ThreadLocal. How does ThreadLocal usage compare to named data slots? Does the ThreadLocal value get inherited by children threads? Is the idea that ThreadLocal is a simplified version of using named data slots? An example of some stuff using named data slots follows.   I have a class class ChartLine{ protected: vector<Point> line; // points connecting the line CString name; //line name for legend CPen pen; //color, size and style properties of the line }; where Point is a structure struct Point{ CString x; double y; }; In main() I dynamically allocate objects of type ChartLine with new operator. If I use delete afterwards, will default destructor ~ChartLine() properly dealocate (or clear) member ChartLine::line(which is vector btw) or I would have to clear that vector in ~ChartLine() manually? • Is it possible to import specific class from project propreties

  I have 2 projects. First project need to include second. When I copy sources from second project to first I need to modify manually import path to R.java file. The problem is that I need to use SVN external link connection between this 2 projects, that is mean, one project (the bigger one) will take sources from another through svn and should be able to use it without any modifications. If I would be able to specify R.java file path anywhere in project properties it will resolve my problem by changing manually that path. Need to specify that package name of these 2 projects are different. Another solution to resolve this problem also would be accepted. Thank you.

  I have service in which i am accessing few configuration properties from grailsApplication I am injecting it like this class MyWebService{ def grailsApplication WebService webService = new WebService() def getProxy(url, flag){ return webService.getClient(url) } def getResponse(){ def proxy = getProxy(grailsApplication.config.grails.wsdlURL, true) def response = proxy.getItem(ItemType) return response } } When i call getProxy() method, i see this in tomcat logs No signature of method: org.example.MyWebService.getProxy() is applicable for argument types: (groovy.util.ConfigObject, java.lang.Boolean) values: [[:], true] Possible solutions: getProxy(), getProxy(java.lang.String, boolean), setProxy(java.lang.Object) which means grailsApplication is not getting injected into the service, is there any alternate way to access configuration object ? according to burtbeckwith's post configurationholder has been deprecated, can't think of anything else. Interestingly the very same service works fine in my local IDE(GGTS 3.1.0), that means locally grailsApplication is getting injected, but when i create a war to deploy to a standalone tomcat, it stops getting injected.

I understand why I can't do this - any recommendations for a design that will achieve much the same result? (For clarity - what I am trying to do is provide a library with an abstract base class but the concrete versions MUST implement a few properties/methods themselves and yes, there are good reasons for keeping it static.)

• from JS to iphone dev - what's the best language to start with?

  I am a total beginner and would like to eventually learn to develop for the iphone. I have just done a beginner's CS course where the language we learned was JavaScript. We studied basic concepts like: variables, arrays, loops (for,while,if,if..else..), properties and functions. I'm wondering if I am starting in the right/wrong place by following this book: Learn C on the Mac by Dave Mark? I have read a few chapters and am finding it a bit hard to get my head around the way that C works, for example the way that Strings are printed seems overly complicated as compared to JS. Do you think that JS was the wrong language to start off with and would I be better to go from JS straight to Objective-C rather than to C? I have tried to read up on previous threads on the merits/demerits of learning C first but haven't found any that relate JS to learning C/Obj C/ Cocoa. Any advice appreciated as I am very new to this. Thanks

• How do I get MSBuild Task to generate XML Documents when building a solution?

  I have a solution with lots of projects. Each project is configured to generate the XML documentation file when building in Debug-Mode (which is default). That works when I build in Visual Studio 2008. In my build script on my integration server I advise MSBuild to build the whole solution, but it won't generate the documentation files. What can I do? I already tried to explicitly give the Debug-Condition to the build process, but it makes no difference. <Target Name="BuilSolution"> <MSBuild Projects="C:\Path\To\MySolution.sln" targets="Build" Properties="SolutionConfigurationPlatforms='Debug|Any CPU'"/> </Target> There seem to be some ideas to solve this problem when building single projects, but I can't afford to do this, so I need a hint for doing it this way. • OSGI bundle (or service)- how to register for a given time period?

Search did not give me a hint, how can i behave with the following situation: I'd love to have 2 OSGI implementations of the same interface: one is regular, the other should work (be active/present/whatever) on the given time period (f.e for Christmas weeks :)) The main goal is to call the same interface without specifying any flags/properties/without manual switching of ranking. Application should somehow switch implementation for this special period, doing another/regular job before and after :) I'm a newbie, maybe i do not completely understand OSGI concept somewhere, sorry for that of give me a hint or link, sorry for my English. Using Felix/Equinox with Apache Aries.

  Hello, I would like to control how linq querries my database programaticaly. For instance, I'd like to querry the column X, column Y, or column Z, depending on some conditions. First of all, I've created an array of all the properties inside my class called myPropertyInfo. Type MyType = (typeOf(MyClass)); PropertyInfo[] myPropertyInfo = myType.GetProperties( BindingFlags.Public|BindingFlags.Instance); the myPropertyInfo array allows me to access each property details (Name, propertyType, etc) through the index*[i]* Now, how can I use the above information to control how linq querries my DB? Here's a sample of a querry I'd like to exploit. var myVar = from tp in db.MyClass select tp.{expression}; Expression using myPropertyInfo[i] to choose which property(column) to querry. I'm not sure if that's the way of doing it, but if there's another way to do so, I'll be glad to learn. Thanks for helping.

  My forms are losing session variables on shared hosting very quickly (webhost4life), and I think I want to replace them with cookies. Does the following look reasonable for tracking an ID from form to form: if(Request.Cookies["currentForm"] == null) return; projectID = new Guid(Request.Cookies["currentForm"]["selectedProjectID"]); Response.Cookies["currentForm"]["selectedProjectID"] = Request.Cookies["currentForm"]["selectedProjectID"]; Note that I am setting the Response cookie in all the forms after I read the Request cookie. Is this necessary? Do the Request cookies copy to the Response automatically? I'm setting no properties on the cookies and create them this way: Response.Cookies["currentForm"]["selectedProjectID"] = someGuid.ToString(); The intention is that these are temporary header cookies, not persisted on the client any longer than the browser session. I ask this since I don't often write websites.

  Hi, I making a eclipse view that is working with selected elements from other views. Let say I have opened a java file in the editor that has the following fields in it: private String world = " world!" private String hello = "hello" + world; When I select "hello" in the Outline view I'm able to get IFiled selection and I have access to it's properties, but what i need is the true value of the field ("hello world!").   Hi Hi have an observable collection that I bind to a DataGrid using the itemsource property of the DataGrid. All the properties of the class inside the collection are displayed properly in the DataGrid. Now, I want to hide some fields to the DataGrid using the browsable attribute [Browsable(false)] in the class. It works well in winforms, but it seems not working in WPF. Someone knows why? I can hide the columns later, but I don't want to loss performance in this way. Is there any other solution? Thanks.

• Gaining Reference to the Dialog from Dialog content

  Here's my scenario: I've got a div on Page A. When an event happens (whatever I define, a click, whatever), I do a div.Dialog, set its properties and open it The data inside is returned from an async .ajax call that grabs the data from a url and appends it to the div by calling div.html(data) inside the .ajax callback, so it's essentially loading a PageB by getting the data (content) and appending it to the div that's calling the dialog("open")...nothing special here I don't think. My question: In Page B, how do I reference the dialog so I can do some things to it? For instance in Page B's content that I received back from that .ajax call and added to the div via .html(data), there is a button and when clicked I need to close the dialog. Right now my buttons are not working because one of them closes out the dialog and the other should redirect to a new page but both do not work now because I have no reference to the dialog that it's in to manipulate it.

• Android - BaseGameUtil Complicated Import

  I've seen many topics in stackoverflow, such as Cannot import BaseGameUtils (Eclipse weirdness) and Android: cannot import BaseGameUtils successfully in Eclipse but none resolved my problem. I've followed https://developer.android.com/google/play-services/setup.html#Setup - the Add Google Play Services to Your Project [Using Eclipse with ADT], I THINK my project correctly references the google play services lib since up to that point nothing wrong happened. Then, following https://developers.google.com/games/services/android/quickstart, I've downloaded BaseGameUtils but when I import the two projects [TypeANumber & BaseGameUtil], they came named as main and MainActivity. I've renamed BaseGameUtil as so and have marked it as lib and imported it to my project through Properties Android Library, but I can't extend extend a class from BaseGameUtil because it's not even suggested. Also, I have not installed Android L and Android 4.4W from SDK Manager in Eclipse, altough I think that's no the case. Can anyone please help in this? Thanks so much in advance

• Get name of property as a string

  I'm trying to improve the maintainability of some code involving reflection. The app has a .NET Remoting interface exposing (among other things) a method called Execute for accessing parts of the app not included in its published remote interface. Here is how the app designates properties (a static one in this example) which are meant to be accessible via Execute: RemoteMgr.ExposeProperty("SomeSecret", typeof(SomeClass), "SomeProperty"); So a remote user could call: string response = remoteObject.Execute("SomeSecret"); and the app would use reflection to find SomeClass.SomeProperty and return its value as a string. Unfortunately, if someone renames SomeProperty and forgets to change the 3rd parm of ExposeProperty(), it breaks this mechanism. I need to the equivalent of: SomeClass.SomeProperty.GetTheNameOfThisPropertyAsAString() to use as the 3rd parm in ExposeProperty so refactoring tools would take care of renames. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance.
