    Possible Duplicates: How to show popup message like in stackoverflow Header message just like at Stack Overflow How to display a message on screen without refreshing like SO does? I'm looking for something like StackOverflow's banner that pops up (or rather drops down) from the top of the screen when you have a new alert. Preferably some javascript widget, though I'd be open to anything that will work with an ASP.Net MVC2 web page. All I'm looking for is a simple top-banner alert/message that looks good, preferably with a cancel button. Is there something like that, freely available?

    So when you go to /appointments the get() action is called, so then would the view be get.jsp (assuming you are using .jsp, and assuming you are mapping action names to views)? And what about the getnewform? It seems to be returning an object?   • Xml files stop being served by IIS6 after allowing .net to process the .xml extension

    I added a route into my site to allow for a sitemap and everything worked fine in IIS7 but once I deployed the route stopped working. Since the live server is running IIS6 I needed to put a new mapping in for .xml to be processed by .net and then it started to work. My issue though is on every other xml file on the site now. I keep getting a 404 error when trying to view xml files, but the sitemap.xml route works. Is this a routing issue or an IIS setup issue?   • JqGrid doesn't work in ASP.NET MVC2

    I have a project in ASP.NET MVC1 using VB.NET controlers and JqGrid. it works fine under MVC1. After migrating the project to ASP.NET MVC2, the grid is no longer populated. It seems that there is some new restrictions on returned Jsonresult in MVC2. How to solve this in VB.NET. Controler function populating the jqgrid is something like this : Function GetGridRecordset(ByVal qry As String) As JsonResult Dim result = New JsonResult() ... ...   • IIS 7.0 - Every site suddenly redirecting root request to forms authentication

    Suddenly, IIS 7.0 is redirecting every request for the root of any domain hosted on the box to ~/Account/Logon, which is our Forms Authentication redirect. Additionally, some JavaScript and image requests are being similarly redirected, but not other aspx pages. This is not desirable. Nobody will admit to changing anything. Any ideas? EDIT: It turns out that something has gone wrong with the disk permissions. Can anyone point me to the way things are supposed to be in Windows Server 2008 for a standard ASP.Net installation? The disk permissions are out of whack now.

I have got a model public class Name: Entity { [StringLength(10), Required] public virtual string Title { get; set; } } public class Customer: Entity { public virtual Name Name { get; set; } } a view model public class CustomerViweModel { public Customer Customer { get; set; } } a view <% using(Html.BeginForm()) { %> <%= Html.LabelFor(m => m.Customer.Name.Title)%> <button type="submit">Submit</button> <% } %> and a controller [HttpPost] public ActionResult Index([Bind(Prefix = "Customer")] Customer customer) { if(ModelState.IsValid) Save else return View(); } No matter what I enter as the title (null, or a string 10 chars), ModelState.IsValid is always true. The Title field in the Customer object has a value, so the data is being passed around, but not being validated? Any clues?

  • Spring - Redirect after POST (even with validation errors)

    I'm trying to figure out how to "preserve" the BindingResult so it can be used in a subsequent GET via the Spring <form:errors> tag. The reason I want to do this is because of Google App Engine's SSL limitations. I have a form which is displayed via HTTP and the post is to an HTTPS URL. If I only forward rather than redirect then the user would see the https://whatever.appspot.com/my/form URL. I'm trying to avoid this. Any ideas how to approach this? IList<ProductOptionModel> OptionsRetData = new List<ProductOptionModel>(); foreach (var CurProductOption in this.ProductOptions) { OptionsRetData.Add(CurProductOption.ToDataModel()); } returnData.Options = OptionsRetData.AsEnumerable(); I'd like to convert this to a LINQ single line statment and came up with the following. returnData.Options = this.ProductOptions.Select(o => o.ToDataModel()); and am recieving the following error. Server Error in '/' Application. Sequence contains no matching element So why does the first statment work but not the LINQ and, what steps can I take to resolve it.

    I have this <%=Model.StartDate%> <%=Html.Hidden("StartDate", Model.StartDate)%> it outputs: 2010-05-11 11:00:00 +01:00 <input type="hidden" value="2010-03-17 11:00:00 +01:00" name="StartDate" id="StartDate"> What the... It's a paging mechanism so the hidden value was valid on the first page and I've been able to move forward to the next page. But since the values won't update properly it ends there. What do I need to do. Using firefox.

  • Tomcat not showing Spring Context initialization errors when running from Eclipse WTP

    Hi all, Im working with Eclipse Galileo (WTP), Spring 2.5.6-SEC01 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.28. When I run my application from Eclipse, I'm able to see Tomcat standard output and error from the console view. When there is a Spring initialization error (ex: malformed spring XML) I'm not able to see the error message or the stacktrace at the Console view. Anyone found before a problem like this? how you solve it? Thanks in advance, I'm getting mad :-) Edited: I'm seeing all Tomcat startup messages and my System.out.println and System.err.println messages in Eclipse Console. I also try to pass this two system properties to my Tomcat Server: -Djava.util.logging.manager="org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager" -Djava.util.logging.config.file="C:\apache-tomcat-5.5.28\conf\logging.properties"

  • Spring - disable bind exceptions (for a particular property)

    Hi all, In a web application I'm working on using Spring 2.5.6.SEC01, I essentially have an Integer field that takes a number to determine which page to scroll to. The requirements changed, and we no longer want to display an error message, but simply ignore the user's input if they enter an invalid number, say "adfadf". I was reading that you can do that via: TypeMismatch.property=Some New Error Message However, after having tried that, we are still getting the original error message: java.lang.Integer.TypeMismatch=... I only want to disable this message for that given property. How can I do that? I still want binding to occur automatically, I just don't want to hear about it now. Walter

There are other controllers with say a @RequestMapping of "/test" etc. My application seems to be mapping correctly for paths like /appname/test, but if I add a trailing slash to the path, like so "/appname/test/ then it maps to the controller that has the @RequestMapping for root path "/". Any idea why?
