  • krunner unreadable black text on black background. File a bug? Where?

    I'm running Kubuntu 12.04 beta2 (up to date). Already tried to create a user from the scratch but the problem can still be replicated. I'll make it simple: with any of the available themes (air, air 4 netbooks, oxygen) whenever I disable desktop effects, KRunner instantly becomes black (with black fonts) rendering itself useless because of its unreadable text. Here is a screenshot I took: http://i42.tinypic.com/348sz7n.jpg The weird thing is that with effects enabled KRunner is "light gray" and perfectly functional. What can I do? Should I file a bug? If yes: where? On the KDE bug tracker or the Kubuntu one? Thanks in advance!

  • dynamic multiple instance of swfupload (firefox vs IE)

    We have this dynamic uploader which creates a new instance of swfupload. I'm a little bit confused with the outputs produced by firefox and ie. Firefox have the same output as chrome, safari and opera. Whenever I clicked a button for adding a new instance, the previous instances of swfupload in firefox refresh while IE don't.     Do you know of any text editor that can be used with a spell checker which is smart enough to ignore XHML/CSS and javascript tags? The requirements would be: It must run in Linux; It must be free and open source; It doesn't need to have WYSIWYG capabilities, but they would be welcome. It must have built in "tag skipping" capabilities or be configurable to skip (X)HTML tags, CSS and embedded Javascript; It doesn't need to have a HTML validator, but if it does it will be a plus; I've tried to use spell checker plugins for Kate, HTML validators for Firefox, Eclipse's HTML editor, but I couldn't find a solution that have a speel checker that ignores hml tags.   • How to remove that extra text from URL titles in Firefox browser?

    I am using Firefox with Vimperator. On Mac I use Shiori to bookmark. I also use Pinboard's default add-on (on both Mac and Windows, but mainly on Windows as there's no Shiori). When I used to bookmark, I had this behaviour[A] (before changing Vimperator options): Example: URL: xyz.com TITLE: xyz website Pinboard add-on would fetch the title as xyz website which was fine (I reckon it directly fetches TITLE form the URL). But after installing and starting to use Shiori the title I was getting in its "title" field was xyz website - Vimperator exactly the same what I could see in tabs (seems it's getting what the browser is feeding it). So, I :set titlestring= in Vimperator to remove that extra Vimperator from title. Now, this is what I am getting [B]: When I try to bookmark using Pinboard add-on the title is undefined Using Shiori it results in xyz website - undefined. I tried to change it back to original[C] :set titlestring=Mozilla Firefox (assuming this was the original, before Vimperator) but the results are still the same as [B]. How to get read of that extra - undefined or that extra - Vimperator or - Mozilla Firefox for that matter, while bookmarking pages either with Pinboard add-on or Shiori? One workaround is, instead of no string just add a white-space while setting title in Firefox via Vimperator there but that results in - appended to titles.

  • How can you add two lines of text on a single line in Word 2010?

    Odd title, wasn't sure how to word it. Basically, I have two separate fonts I want to be on the same line, for resume purposes. My name is in a large font at the top, and I want my email and website address right-aligned directly beside it, one on top of the other. However, I want the email and website to combine to the same height as my name. Is this even possible with Word? Surely it is. Here is an awesome graphic of what I'm hoping for. Did not find any instances of that usage. How to use ServerXMLHTTP to replace Server.MapPath in this instance? Thank you so much for your time.

    I need a regexp to match something like this, 'text' | 'text' | ... | 'text'(~text) = 'text' | 'text' | ... | 'text' I just want to divide it up into two sections, the part on the left of the equals sign and the part on the right. Any of the 'text' entries can have "=" between the ' characters though. I was thinking of trying to match an even number of 's followed by a =, but I'm not sure how to match an even number of something.. Also note I don't know how many entries on either side there could be.     Possible Duplicate: Remove auto-complete field entries in Google Chrome Ok... so this is embarrassing. I typed in "boobs" on EncyclopediaDramatica's search because, well, it's a really funny page. But now I've got a problem... EVERY TIME I click a search feild in Chrome now, it shows "boobs" as the first suggestion in the drop down! This is not really socially acceptable as this laptop goes with me everywhere and Chrome is my primary browser. Is there a way I can isolate and remove just that one entry?

  • Can I send some text to the STDIN of an active process running in a screen session?

    I have a long-running server process inside a screen session on my Linux server. It's a bit unstable (and sadly not my software so I can't fix that!), so I want to script a nightly restart of the process to help stability. The only way to make it do a graceful shutdown is to go to the screen process, switch to the window it's running in, and enter the string "stop" on its control console. Are there any smart redirection contortions I can do to make a cronjob send that stop command at a fixed time every day?

  • Why am I not getting text into /var/log/messages?

    Good Morning, Today, I went to look at a backup RHEL5 server that doesn't usually need to get looked at very often. I found that /var/log/messages existed, but had a size of zero. Similarly, messages.1, messages.2, messages.3, and messages.4 are also all empty. /var/log/messages has its correct permissions. (755) Reboot - No help. rm -f /var/log/messages* and service syslog restart - No help. What am I missing?
