  Here's what I'm trying to achieve. I would like to write a script that will navigate to a website that requires me to be authenticated as myself, say Facebook, Live Spaces, Twitter or any other, and then have that script search for certain information on one of the pages of the website. I've done something similar in the past with the Windows.Forms WebBrowser control, which is a full blown implementation of IE that can be controlled through code and will store whatever cookies you get once you're authenticated, but it was very unfriendly to modify and I was hoping to use a scripting language instead, maybe Powershell or something of that sort. Are there maybe some good tutorials about this out there on the web? Thanks!

I checked online, and realised that google has a Premier account only that would allow me to use HTTPS supported maps api and it cost $10,000 per year. I do not this kind of money with me.   I have been using DotNetBlogEngine for many years, and today my host (JodoHost.com) officially turned on support for .NET 4.0. What I've noticed immediately is that the website loads tremendously faster on the first load, subsequent loads are only slightly faster. The website is compiled as a .NET 2.0 web application. Is there a known reason for this performance increase? Was there a change in the .NET 4.0 framework that improved the initial load time of websites into an application pool?   In Eclipse 3.5, say I have a package structure like this: tom.package1 tom.package1.packageA tom.package1.packageB if I right click on an the tom.package1 package and go to Refactor-Rename, an option "Rename subpackages" appears as a checkbox. If I select it, and then rename tom.package1 to tom.red my package structure ends up like this: tom.red tom.red.packageA tom.red.packageB Yet I hear that Java's packages are not hierarchical. The Java Tutorials back that up (see the section on Apparent Hierarchies of Packages). It certainly seems like Eclipse is treating packages as hierarchical in this case. I was curious why access specifiers couldn't allow/restrict access to "sub-packages" in a previous question because I KNEW I had seen "sub-packages" referenced somewhere before. So are Eclipse's refactoring tools intentionally misleading impressionable young minds by furthering the "sub-package" myth? Or am I misinterpreting something here?

  Hello, I'm in the progress of implementing a built-in help system based on QtHelp into my application. Since QtHelp is based on Qt's help collection files, I need to produce a set of HTML pages. Since I won't be writing the documentation alone (a few of my colleagues will write, too), I am looking for the best way to produce these files. We are internally using a Wiki, and I know that the documentation should be written in some kind of markup language instead of giving all authors a WYSIWYG HTML editor. So my question is, are there tools out there which help with the process of generating documentation that can be exported as a set of HTML files, and possibly, as PDFs, too?. Thanks in advance! Update: I'm already using Doxygen for C++ documentation generation. But I'm not exactly looking for an API-Documentation generator, but something like LaTeX, which allows you to format the documentation contents like a markup document (much like a Wiki).

  I have this website which decides on the display language by a GET parameter. http://www.mysite.com/index.php?page=home&locale=en which is rewritten as http://www.mysite.com/en/home When no language is specified, the system defaults to English (en). Now how do I tell the search engines that many versions of the website exist? When the search bot enters the site, it will trigger the default English Language and after finishing, will just leave the site without considering other languages. I can very well have a sitemap with links to the default pages of each language, so the bot can navigate from there. But how do I say the bot that the entry in the sitemap is the home page for that language? Like if someone searches for 'mi sitio', they should be presented with the result http://www.mysite.com/es/home and not some other internal page. Any light on this? Thanks.

  Sometimes our project tree can have binary files, such as jpg, png, doc, xls, or pdf. Can GIT, Mercurial, SVN, or other tools do a good job when only part of a binary file is changed? For example, if the spec is written in .doc and it is part of the repository, then if it is 4MB, and edited 100 times but just for 1 or 2 lines, and checked in 100 times during the year, then it is 400MB. If it is 100 different .doc and .xls files, then it is 40GB... not a size that is easy to manage. I have tried GIT and Mercurial and see that they both seem to add a big size of data even when 1 line is changed in a .doc or .pdf. Is there other way inside of GIT or Mercurial or SVN that can do the job?

The CollapsiblePanel is pretty nice - but then you have to program in the minimize button, close button, maximize button, etc. Looking for suggestions that will help me design better UI faster...

[EditorsOnly] What I am trying to accomplish: During the private Beta period of my website, I want no anonymous users to access my site. Only Beta Testers of my site should be able to login and use my site as normal. After the private beta period people can access it using the security structure I already have set up. I have read the tutorial and docs with respect to spider class for scrapy. When we configured the application we had to determine which threading model we would use, in particular the number of producing and consuming threads per queue. We have done this in a rather ad-hoc fashion but after reading the most recent columns by Herb Sutter in Dr Dobbs (in particular this one) I would like to size our threads in a more rigorous manner. Are there any methods/tools to measure the throughput of JMS queues (in particular JBoss Messaging queues) as a function of the number of producing/consuming threads?
