    Hi all - I have the following static function: static inline HandVal StdDeck_StdRules_EVAL_N( StdDeck_CardMask cards, int n_cards ) Can I export this function in a DLL? If so, how? Thanks, Mike Background information: I'm doing this because the original source code came with a VS project designed to compile as a static (.lib) library. In order to use ctypes/Python, I'm converting the project to a DLL. I started a VS project as a DLL and imported the original source code. The project builds into a DLL, but none of the functions (including functions such as the one listed above) are exported (as confirmed by both the absence of dllexport in the source code and tools such as DLL Export Viewer). I tried to follow the general advice here (create an exportable wrapper function within the header) to no avail...functions still don't appear to be exported.

  • Which management tools would you recommend for software development?

    What would you generally recommend for software developement? Which combination do you use or would you recommend? I assume that tools are needed for Version control, issues/bugs/task, Release management, Requirement management. Tools for Test management and Project management should be accounted for as well, I guess. Did I forget anything? Maybe tools for Continous Integration. I'm not interested in a halfway combination of one ore two tools like a Subversion + Bugzilla (I know they are good but for a company they might not be sufficient). And also tools like make/ant shouldn't be taken into account. I'd like to know a combination that covers all what is important for professional software development. However, it could be a single tool of course if it covers all the management issues. What do you think would be a good combination? I assume a combination should be regardes as good if the tools itself are good but also if they have good integrations. Udate: Something like Ant is just a script not a management tool. Okay: we do already have Perforce. But this is somehow generic. We have different projects that uses C-, VS/.NET-, Python-, PHP and we will be starting new projects in Java. Plenty of languages and frameworks, though some are going to be legacy. So the tools should be generic. Obviously we don't want to use Bugzilla for one project and Jira for another. The management tools have to be generic. Further thoughts: Think of sourceforge: For each project they offer a version control system, an issue tracker, a wiki, ... totally independent of what the project is about. Those are some management tools that a project usually needs. I would say that most companies need such a set of tools. But I could imagine, if a company has several projects, they need further tools too: for Project management, Quality management, ... And I could imagine there are some recommendable combinations of tools. A not really apropiate comparison to this could be LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). A combination of software that has evolved since they work very well together, and are pretty useful for a lot of applications (or rather web sites). So maybe there are some recommendable management tool combinations that also fit toghether like LAMP. The integration is important. Thank you for the incredibly fast and helpful responses!!!

  • Change namespace/filesystem folder names in Visual Studio

    I'm trying to change a namespace in Visual Studio. My folder structure looks something like this: GameAlpha/ GameAlpha.sln GameAlphaRelease/ GameAlphaTest/ GameAlphaLevelEditor/ These include namespaces like GameAlphaRelease. I want to change all this to GameBetaRelease. Before this process, it built fine. First, I changed the solution and project files from Alpha to Beta. Then, I did a "find-replace-all" on the namespace. Finally, I went through the properties of each project and changed the "Assembly Name" and "Default Namespace" to the appropriate Beta title. However, now the solution does not build. The error is: GameAlpha.accessor: The reference to 'GameAlpha.exe' was not found in the list of this projects references. (Project: GameBetaTest) What am I doing wrong? If I remove project GameBetaTest, the solution builds just fine. Also, what is the preferable way to change the names of the folders in the file system?

    So far I've only checked things out and back in to Source Safe but now I want to create a project for parallel development. That is, I want to Share and Branch the entire project. I have been reading the Source Safe Help files on how to do this and although I think I am following the instructions, I end up with an empty folder. Can someone enumerate the steps required to do this? Do you start by creating a new project under the Source Safe root so you have something to Share the original project with? Note: We have SourceSafe 6.0.

  • Need advice on organizing two WPF applications within one Visual Studio solution

    I have a WPF application (KaleidoscopeApplication) organized as follows: Solution (6 projects) Cryptography (DLL) Rfid (DLL) KaleidoscopeApplication (buildable "startup project") Basically, KaleidoscopeApplication contains a bunch of resources (sounds, images, etc) and your standard WPF junk (App.xaml, App.xaml.cs, other xaml and code). I need to create a new application that is very similar to Kaleidoscope, but I'm not sure of the best way to organize. This new app will need access to much of the same code and resources as Kaleidoscope. Preferably, I would like to create a new project in the solution, then simply use the "set as startup project" to pick which app I want to build. However, will I be able to access (share) the Resources folder of Kaleidoscope? I know I will be able to access much of the code if I simply add a reference to the project and include a "using Kaleidoscope". But the resources I'm not so sure about.     Hi Everyone, I am having trouble copying file using SVNKit. After copying the files from source to destination files end up one folder above the intended folder. For ex: When copying files from "https://example.com/svn/repos/trunk/project/src/ex.txt" to "https://example.com/svn/repos/branches/PackageN/project/src", files end up in "project" folder inside PackageN while my intention is to move it to "src" folder inside "project.
