  • Why are the default UI controls in my iPhone app blurred?

    Why would the default iPhone interface elements, specifically the UISwitch (unmodified) and a UISegmentedControl appear slightly blurred? I have not changed them or called any private APIs. This blurring occurs when I run it both in the simulator and when I load it on my iPod Touch, so I don't think it's a one off drawing glitch. These elements were created via some code (initWithFrame:) not in interface builder. Here is a screenshot of the blurring in the simulator: http://drp.ly/14rS6a It looks similar on the actual device.   • Why is my PHP upload script not working?

    Hello all, I am doing some simple work with uploading a file. I am ignoring error checking and exceptions at this point just to get my uploads working. I have this HTML form: <form action='addResult.php' method='post' enctype='multipart/form-data' target='results_iFrame' onsubmit='startUpload();'> Entry: <input type='text' id='entry' /> Stop: <input type='text' id='stop' /> Final: <input type='text' id='final' /> Chart: <input type='file' id='chart' /> <input type='submit' value='Add' /></form> As you can see, it calls 'addResult.php' within the iFrame 'results_iFrame'. The Javascript is just for animation purposes and to tell me when things are finished. addResult.php has this code in it (along with processing the other inputs): $upload_dir = "../img/"; $chart_loc = $upload_dir.basename($_FILES['chart']['name']); move_uploaded_file($_FILES['chart']['tmp_name'], $chart_loc); print_r($_FILES); It uses the 'chart' input from the form and tries to upload it. I have the print_r() function to display some information on $_FILES, but the array is empty, thus making this fail. What could I be doing wrong?

    Hai , An asp panel contains only 6 events. if they provide a visibilechanged event it may very useful for me. if it is in windows application ,how easy it is.I dont know why thy are not providing all these.This is same as in the case of gridView, button ,etc. just think , I have an Iframe in an asp panel and two buttons. In first time it is invisible .Buttons named first and second respectively. Two another pages One.aspx,two.aspx. These two pages contains each text box. When you click on the First button . I want to set the Iframe src="One.aspx" and display "first" in the textbox on One.aspx. as same in the case , when user clicks Second button. How to do this ?

    Hi, I have a table called Resource, and i am making a line chart (the chart is complicated, so just assume its a simple xy line chart). I want to execute the report with different resources. I have added a new parameter and bound it to a dataset to return a dropdownlist of resource names. Can i do a mulitiple selection of resource. for example if i want to make chart with ResourceA and ResourceB, only, can i select these two resources from the dropdownlist of parameters. cheers, Oz

  • Is it okay if my ViewModel 'creates' bindable user controls for my View?

    I have an entry-point View with a tab control. Each tab is going to have a user control embedded within it. Each embedded view inherits from the same base class and will need to be updated as a key field on the entry-point view is updated. I'm thinking the easiest way to design this page is to have the entry-point ViewModel create and expose a collection of the tabbed views so the entry-point View can just bind to the user control elements using a DataTemplate on the tab control. Is it okay for a ViewModel to instantiate and provide UI elements for its View?

  • Which jQuery/css menu library for working with ASP.NET TreeView or Menu controls.

    I'm looking for a good jQuery or CSS, or combo, library to enance my left side menu in an an intranet application. I don't like the 'hover only' expand/collapse style of the ASP.NET Menu control on its own, and I don't like the 'icon-click only' expand/collapse style of the TreeView control on its own. I plan on trying the CSS Control Adapters, to render the menu with some self-respect, i.e. as nested <ul> or <ol> elements instead of the usual orgy of tables. Beyond that, I need something to give a bit of style and menulike behaviour to these nested lists, and I would prefer a jQuery plugin for this. Which should I use?

  • Play a video with flash (with no controls, pause, etc) and stretch to full width and height of page.

    Hi, I've managed this so far: [removed url] The plan is to have that video stretch across the whole page (the flash does, the video itself does not). Firstly: well aware of the issues - bad performance, horribly stretched/pixelated video. I know this. However a client wants it so we have to do it, simple as that. Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be achieved? I've been in touch with the creators of the flash video player I'm currently using and they've confirmed it isn't possible with that flash video player. Anyone know of any players where it is possible? Thanks, Tim

  • How can I inherit form and access controls from mother form?

    Hi, I'm in the middle of writing my project and I have this problem: I try to write a library and I want to use it in my application. In library I have a form with menu strip, tool bar, list view, tree view and etc. Everything in library is protected. In my application I have created the form which inherit form the library. I can change and add new functionality to list view and tree view using designer panel in VS 2008 but I don't have access to menu strip and tool bar, even though they are protected. Why is that so? I will be thankful for some advice.

    Does anyone know how i can find similar descriptions in excel and replace them with 1 other description is there a wild card? i am. trying to make a pivot chart with a list of transactions and their descriptions and i want to group all my ATM withdrwls but i cant. On the pivot chart they appear as ATM Withdrwal-REF-1234 and each of these "withdrwls" have different reference and as a result they show up as individual items on the chart...how can i group say all my ATM withdrwals as 1 ATM Withrdawl item so that it shows a 1 atm withdrwl item on my pivot chart?

  • Is there a project setting that controls getting to Game Center's Sandbox?

    This is different from the others; it's cool. I know that your Bundle Identifier needs to match your iTunes Connect's version. I know you need to make a new AppleID through your dev app and not through Game Center. Most people get this fixed when they force quit their app and game center and launch theirs first. I am not one of those people. If I take the GKTapper tutorial and use my game's Bundle Identifier as the only change, things are good. On launch, it asks me if I want to use an existing or make a new account. But more importantly, it says * Sandbox *. (Before I log in, mind you; this is not an account problem at all.) Once inside I can see my achievements. If I load my game, I has a sad. On launch I get the same dialog, but it does not say Sandbox. My game is two weeks away from being done after many long months. Moving everything in to a new project is possible, but a pain. So the question is: What magic setting does GKTapper or a new project have that my game that I started in June does not that lets you get to Game Center's Sandbox?

    Hi I have to design such that whenever user pass a query I process it using servlet and then call the js page to draw the chart 1 user writes a query on a page 2 the page call the servelt class public class MyServlet extends Httpservlet implements DataSourceServlet {..... return data The user see a beautiful string like this.. google.visualization.Query.setResponse......... /Tiger'},{v:80.0}, {v:false}]}]}}); 3 when the user hits on different html page myhtml.js it draws the chart. I want the Myservlet class itself call the myhtml.js page and draw the chart directly. and want to eliminate the beautiful string google.visualization.Query.setResponse......... /Tiger'},{v:80.0}, {v:false}]}]}}); from coming on user's browser What should i do? I tried using functions to call another page like request dispatcher(), redirect() calling myhtml.js page directly after myservlet process the query results. But i get the result like this google.visualization.Query.setResponse......... /Tiger'},{v:80.0}, {v:false}]}]}}); and the entire myhtml.js code page below it on the browsers that to without the chart been draw.     I would like to create a jQuery plugin with an API something like this: $("#chart").pluginName().attr("my_attr"); Instead of these: $("#chart").pluginName_attr("my_attr"); $.pluginName.attr("#chart", "my_attr"); Basically, instead of having to namespace every method that acts similar to ones in jQuery, I'd like to "scope" the methods to a custom api, where $("#chart).pluginName() would return an object such that get, attr, find, and a few others would be completely rewritten. I'm sure this is not a well-liked idea as it breaks convention (does it?), but it's easier and more readable, and probably more optimized, than the two options above. What are your thoughts?

    Which one gives you more advantages: Microsoft or SUN/Oracle certification? If you don't mind, please relate your answer to your career (dev, sys-admin, dba), industry (finance, general consulting, business apps, software house), and location (where you live, does it influence your decision?) as well. One reason I asked this because I heard that having MCP (in C#, MCSAD or whatever the cert is called these days) could give you extra point from the employer perspective if they're a Microsoft Partner. I don't quite understand why and am also wondering if SUN/Oracle certificate holder have similar edge/benefit. I'm also interested to know if Certification plays role where you live. For example: certification could be a big negative sign in Silicon Valley, but might be helpful if you're in other US/Canada cities or outside USA/Canada. If you are an independent software consultant, do these certification helps you win bids? I totally understand that this question might be subjective and could be "closed". But it doesn't hurt to ask I suppose. I also understand that there are people who dislike/disagree (or have negative perspective on technology certification). While there are people who have the opinion that "these are not the kind of employers you would want to work with", I respect you guys, but sometime a pure software product company might not exist in certain cities in the world. And if certification can help one's career somewhere else, I guess that means more opportunities right? I've had experienced in both platforms: (short) .NET and (not too long) Java (minus Oracle DB stuff), but I think it's about time I have to pick one of them and be good at. Where I live right now might also dictates my career albeit insignificant. Anyhow, this last paragraph is just tiny blurb. Thanks!
