  I am reading a .xls file and then procesing it inside and rewriting it in the end of my program. I was wondering if someone can help me to parse the dates as my input file name is like file_1_2010_03_03.csv and i want my outputfile to be newfile_2010_03_03.xls is there a way to incorporate in matlab program so i do not have to manually write the command xlswrite('newfile_2010_03_03.xls', M); everytime and change the dates as i input files with diff dates like file_2_2010_03_04.csv.   I have 3 files. xxx which imports xxx2 and xxx2 imports xxx3 which one raises OppsError exception. xxx3.py: class OppsError(Exception):pass def go(): raise OppsError() xxx2.py: import xxx3 xxx3.go() xxx.py: try: import xxx2 except xxx3.OppsError: print 'ops' When i run xxx.py i get error NameError: name 'xxx3' is not defined. Is importing xxx3 inside xxx only way to catch OppsError?

  I have a program which places structures in a linked list based on the 'name' they have stored in them. To find their place in the list, i need to figure out if the name im inserting is earlier or later in the alphabet then those in the structures beside it.   I have the directory ~/fooscripts/ and inside there are foo1.txt, foo2.txt, etc etc I have a command that takes the file foo1.txt as input and does some calculation. The output location etc is handled internally in fooprog fooprog -user-data=foo1.txt I would like to automate the whole thing in a bash script so that the script will parse all txt files in ~/fooscripts/ sequentially. I am a newbie in bash. Could anyone give me a hint?

  I have a custom tableViewCell with a UITextLabel inside it. When the cell is first displayed, the place holder is shown and then disappears when the user types something in. What I want is to go back to the parent view, and then to the sub view again, and that the field will show the text that the user previously typed. If I set the text field, simply with setText, the textField is not editable. Any idea?

  There are a few related questions on SO - but have not found the answer - I would like to generate a "signature"/bucket id to report a minidump/crash back to our issue tracking system. Since MS already does this with "bucket ids" I figured I could just re-use their bucket/signature generation. Can I get that ID from either a top level filter or the _EXCEPTION_POINTERS object I have inside the filter or the _MINIDUMP_EXCEPTION_INFORMATION structure or from the minidump itself? This is a C++ application.
