  I have a project that I need to create 2 Arrays, one to hold Student Names and one to hold Student Scores. The user inputs the size of the array, and the array needs to be sorted using BubbleSort (putting the high scores at the top). I have started the project, created the first array for scores, I have successfully done bubble sort and sorted the grades. Now I can't figure out how to make an array for Names, and once I do how do I make the names array correspond to the Grades array BubbleSort?   Hello, I want to determine if a string is the name of a month and I want to do it relatively quickly. I saw another question that talked about a Regex to match a month name and a year which could be adapted for this situation. Would the Regex be faster? Is there any other solution that might be faster?

  I am having a problem figuring how to check a string for the same characters in a row then count that same character in a row then printing it out then giving the location of the last occorance of that character count then printing it out then moving to the next character in the string that is different then the previous character and the program is case sensitive. So the input could be: aaaaAAAbbbddccc How would I compress this string to: a4A3b3d2c3 ? and then decompress it?

  I have a List(of String()). I have written a custom comparer (implements IComparer(of string)) to do an alphanumeric sort. Is there a way to sort the List using a given index to determine which position in the String() to sort by? In other words one time I might sort by Index = 0 and another time by Index = 3. The length of all String() in the list is the same. For reference this question is similar to Sort List<String[]> except I am using VB.net and that question is hardwired to Index=0.

• How to use batch rendering with an entity component system?

  I have an entity component system and a 2D rendering engine. Because I have a lot of repeating sprites (the entities are non-animated, the background is tile based) I would really like to use batch rendering to reduce calls to the drawing routine. What would be the best way to integrate this with an engtity system? I thought about creating and populating the sprite batche every frame update, but that will probably be very slow. A better way would be to add a reference to an entity's quad to the sprite batch at initialization, but that would mean that the entity factory has to be aware of the Rendering System or that the sprite batch has to be a component of some Cache entity. One case violates encapsulation pretty heavily, while the other forces a non-game object entity in the entity system, which I am not sure I like a lot. As for engine, I am using Love2D (Love2D website) and FEZ ( FEZ website) as entity system(so everything is in Lua). I am more interested in a generic pattern of how to properly implement that rather than a language/library specific solution. Thanks in advance!

  Will changing links to remove query string parameters that are no longer used have any negative impact on search engine rankings? Say I have a page about.php on my site, and all of my links to this page are of the form http://www.example.com/about.php?foo=bar and I've made some changes to the script such that the parameter foo is no longer used. I would like to remove the unused parameter from the links so the URL will look cleaner, but I am concerned that this could cause problems with SEO. Is it safe to remove ?foo=bar from my links?

I have gone into Network Connections dialog box and elected not to show an icon when it is disconnected, yet it remains visible. I have gone into the Task bar properties and elected to always hide this icon, but that doesn't remove it from the system tray. How do I remove it? Thanks

  I need to run Symantec Endpoint Protection scans on Windows 7 systems using the SYSTEM account. I know that I can run DoScan.exe to manually run a scan, and this works fine using a regular user account. Unfortunately, when I try to run DoScan as SYSTEM, the application exits immediately without running a scan. Is there a way that I can get this to work, or another application besides DoScan.exe that I should be using?

  I recently copied my win xp install from one hard to another(via ubuntu live cd) Everything went well, except that all the hidden system files(boot.ini, ntdlr, io.sys) are no longer hidden. I tried this: attrib +s c:/IO.sys No effect. The files are still visible even though the setting to hide system files is checked. Any solutions? Thanks.

  Is there any way to map the A000????.??? filenames in the System Volume Information to their original names, without restoring them? The reason I ask is that several files in one user's System Volume Information RP1 were infected by a rootkit. Although they've been removed, I'd like to be able to figure out what they were originally. A0001253.sys and A0001211.sys are not very helpful names. :) It happened on two systems, one XP SP2, the other XP SP3.

  On Windows 7, the 'system' process is taking up 100% CPU (well 50% on a duel core) for a rather long time. Its CPU usage doesn't seem to drop at all. How can I diagnose this problem?   I have been banging my head with this one more the two weeks, and still don't know what the problem is ( I can't narrow it down). The problem is the following. I have a solution with 3 project in it all written in c# and I with LINQ. One project is the main web site, the other is the data layer (communication with the database) and the third one is a custom little CMS. The problem is the following: On a hosting provider when I publish the site it all works perfectly, but this site was needed to be hosted on the client server so I needed to do that. But the problem is that I also needed to configure the client server, because they don't have an Administrator employed (I know, I know ;) ). So far I have tried the following: -setting time out on connection string to a higher value -configuration and after that turning off server firewall -checking the connection string over and over again (they are the same for all three projects and are saved in web.config) Important notes: I have tried executing the project from VS2008 with a connection string to the same database and the results are the same. That's why I think the problem is the SQL Server 2005 and not the IIS7. Any bit of information is more then welcomed.
