    I am new to PowerShell. I have to write a script which can return me the first parent(node) value by passing the child node. I have the following XML. When I pass my PowerShell script the value "AAA", it should return "parent2", and when I pass "III", it should return "parent311". Can someone help me write this script?     We have an application that uses Active Reports documents. You pass a document the UNC of the printer and away it goes. We have a group that runs this application within a Citrix session and the truly networked printers function perfectly but shared printers that work well outside of Citrix become unreachable. Printers do not need to be defined on the machine running the report for the system to work. There is something in the way Critrix passes the information to the destination UNC that I don’t understand.

  • How do I extend the virsh/qemu/libvirt Timeout?

    There's a known issue with starting virtual machines with large hard drive images. Apparently, the time-out is 3 seconds, but in reality, it can take up to 15 seconds for a machine to start. I've read several bug reports, and people confirming it's a time-out problem, but I have yet to see a solution. Is there an option I can pass, like: virsh start MyMachine --ignore-timeout Or a config file that needs changed? Thanks!

    I'm having trouble with the Gmail yellow notification area disappearing too quickly in Google Chrome. For reference, I am talking about the notification that appears at the top of Gmail after archiving or deleting a message from a web browser. I tried it on IE9 and it works fine. I have also cleared the cache and cookies on Chrome and the issue persists. Has anybody run into this on Chrome and know of a solution?

  • Is there a program that can colourize the output of any linux command?

    Every fetchmail tutorial I've read says putting your email account password clear-text in a config file is safe. However, I prefer security through layers (since, if my terminal is up and someone suspecting such email foolery slides over and simply types "grep -i pass ~/.*" then, oops, all my base are belong to them!). Now, with msmtp (as opposed to sendmail) I can authenticate using the OSX keychain. Is there an email 'grabber' that lets me use Keychains (or at least, that lets me MD5 the password)?

  • Using wget to save sequential files as well as renaming the file extension

    I run a cron job that requests a snapshot from a remote webcam at a local address: wget http://user:[email protected]/snapshot.cgi This creates the files snapshot.cgi, snapshot.cgi.1, snapshot.cgi.2, each time it's run. My desired result would be for the file to be named similar to file.1.jpg, file.2.jpg. Basically, sequentially or date/time named files with the correct file extension instead of .cgi. Any ideas?

    Hello, I've built a new machine: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 (2x 2gb) Amd Athlon II X4 630 Box AM3 I tried memtest with hiren boot cd (tested only 3gb) and showed no error. Then I tried the built in ram test from the win7 cd (2 passes no errors). I also deleted with a 0 pass the hard drive. Although the archived pages will probably be in Google's cache for a few weeks after they've gone and some of the pages will be in the Way Back Machine I'd like to archive those sites to my hard disk for future reference.   • IP Address doesnt get passed with Squid as a reverse proxy.

    Im using squid as a reverse proxy to host multiple web servers on one internet IP. It works fine and has been doing so for the past few months. I have just noticed that every request sent to my servers is logged as comming from the squid servers IP address. Is there anyway to make squid pass the originating IP to the web servers?
