• Escaping an equals sign in DOS batch string replacement command

  I need to replace some text in a JNLP file using a DOS batch file to tune it for the local machine. The problem is that the search pattern contains an equals sign which is messing up the string replacement in the batch file. I want to replace the line, <j2se version="1.5" initial-heap-size="100M" max-heap-size="100M"/> with specific settings for the initial and max heap sizes. For example at the moment I have, for /f "tokens=* delims=" %%a in (%filePath%agility.jnlp) do ( set str=%%a set str=!str:initial-heap-size="100M"=initial-heap-size="%min%M"! echo !str!>>%filePath%new.jnlp) but the = in the search pattern is being read as part of the replacement command. How do I escape the equals sign so it is processed as text?

But if I nest HLayout and VLayout it is not giving desired result.

• Databinding to ObservableCollection in a different UserControl?

  Question re-written on 2010-03-24 I have two UserControls, where one is a dialog that has a TabControl, and the other is one that appears within said TabControl. I'll just call them CandyDialog and CandyNameViewer for simplicity's sake. There's also a data management class called Tracker that manages information storage, which for all intents and purposes just exposes a public property that is an ObservableCollection. As long as CandyNames is populated first, and then the consumer UserControl is displayed, all of the names are there. I obviously don't get any errors in the Output Window or anything like that. The issue I have is that when the ObservableCollection is modified from the model, those changes are not reflected in the consumer UserControl! I've never had this problem before; all of my previous uses of ObservableCollection updated fine, although in those cases I wasn't databinding across assemblies. Although I am currently only adding and removing candy names to/from the ObservableCollection, at a later date I will likely also allow renaming from the model side. Is there something I did wrong? Is there a good way to actually debug this? Reed Copsey indicates here that inter-UserControl databinding is possible. Unfortunately, my favorite Bea Stollnitz article on WPF databinding debugging doesn't suggest anything that I could use for this particular problem.

But now I need a regex expression with a unknown size of numbers in the bracket . • Attaching .swf assets to Flex3 by calling getDefinitionByName()

  Hello! Does anybody please know, how could you attach symbols from an .swf file in the Actionscript part of your Flex3 file? I've prepared a simple test case demonstrating my problem. Everything works (there are icons at the 4 buttons, there is a red circle) - except the getDefinitionByName() part. My target is to attach a symbol from library "dynamically" - i.e. depending at the value of the suit variable at the runtime. • vertical scrolling of text in UItextfield

  I am filling Uitextfield with Uibutton click event.(e.g. clicking on BUTTONA will add 'a' to textfield.). my problem is that when inserted text reaches the end of textfield, further characters inserted into textfield via UIbutton are not visible.instead ... is seen . how to let text inside Uitextfield scroll to left when width of UItextfield is reached(just like when we enter characters in UItextfield via keyboard) ? • mod_pagespeed is rewriting but not combining

  I have the following problem. I installed mod_pagespeed but i am not getting the results i want! It does rewrite my css and changes the to the cache url but its not combining the css files. • Using JQuery to open a popup window and print

  Hello, A while back I created a lightbox plugin using jQuery that would load a url specified in a link into a lightbox. The code is really simple: $('.readmore').each(function(i){ $(this).popup(); }); and the link would look like this: <a class='readmore' href='view-details.php?Id=11'>TJ Kirchner</a> The plugin could also accept arguments for width, height, a different url, and more data to pass through. The problem I'm facing right now is printing the lightbox. I set it up so that the lightbox has a print button at the top of the box. That link would open up a new window and print that window. This is all being controlled by the lightbox plugin. It wants to print the moment the window appears. As a result, if I click "cancel" to the print dialog box, it'll popup again and again until the window loads. The first time I tried printing I got a blank page. That might be because the window didn't finish load. I need to find a way to alter the previous code block to wait until the window loads and then print. I feel like there should be an easy way to do this, but I haven't found it yet. Either that, or I need to find a better way to open a popup window and print from the lightbox script in the parent window, without alternating the webpage code in the popup window.

• Resizing QT's QTextEdit to Match Text Height: maximumViewportSize()

  I am trying to use a QTextEdit widget inside of a form containing several QT widgets. The form itself sits inside a QScrollArea that is the central widget for a window. My intent is that any necessary scrolling will take place in the main QScrollArea (rather than inside any widgets), and any widgets inside will automatically resize their height to hold their contents. I have tried to implement the automatic resizing of height with a QTextEdit, but have run into an odd issue. I created a sub-class of QTextEdit and reimplemented sizeHint() like this: QSize OperationEditor::sizeHint() const { QSize sizehint = QTextBrowser::sizeHint(); sizehint.setHeight(this->fitted_height); return sizehint; } this-fitted_height is kept up-to-date via this slot that is wired to the QTextEdit's "contentsChanged()" signal: void OperationEditor::fitHeightToDocument() { this->document()->setTextWidth(this->viewport()->width()); QSize document_size(this->document()->size().toSize()); this->fitted_height = document_size.height(); this->updateGeometry(); } The size policy of the QTextEdit sub-class is: this->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::MinimumExpanding, QSizePolicy::Preferred); I took this approach after reading this post. Here is my problem: As the QTextEdit gradually resizes to fill the window, it stops getting larger and starts scrolling within the QTextEdit, no matter what height is returned from sizeHint(). If I initially have sizeHint() return some large constant number, then the QTextEdit is very big and is contained nicely within the outer QScrollArea, as one would expect. However, if sizeHint gradually adjusts the size of the QTextEdit rather than just making it really big to start, then it tops out when it fills the current window and starts scrolling instead of growing. I have traced this problem to be that, no matter what my sizeHint() returns, it will never resize the QTextEdit larger than the value returned from maximumViewportSize(), which is inherited from QAbstractScrollArea. Note that this is not the same number as viewport()-maximumSize(). I am unable to figure out how to set that value. Looking at QT's source code, maximumViewportSize() is returning "the size of the viewport as if the scroll bars had no valid scrolling range." This value is basically computed as the current size of the widget minus (2 * frameWidth + margins) plus any scrollbar widths/heights. This does not make a lot of sense to me, and it's not clear to me why that number would be used anywhere in a way that supercede's the sub-class's sizeHint() implementation. Also, it does seem odd that the single "frameWidth" integer is used in computing both the width and the height. Can anyone please shed some light on this? I suspect that my poor understanding of QT's layout engine is to blame here.

  This binding <tk:DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding Path=Id, Mode=OneWay}" Header="Sale No." Width="1*" /> Gives this error A TwoWay or OneWayToSource binding cannot work on the read-only property 'Id' of type . . . The "Id" property is indeed readonly, I thought though that Mode=OneWay would be sufficient. I'm tired and I know I'm missing something obvious so I'll apologies now for asking a really dumb question. Thanks BW

I'm trying to "re-skin" an existing site that has been nicely built using div's and ul's, etc, and it has a good existing CSS file, but when I start making changes to the CSS I quickly find that I break the layout. My feeling is that it is very hard to get a feel for how all the CSS will work together and indeed what CSS is affecting parent and sibling elements in the HTML. So, my question is "what are the best-practices around re-skinning an existing web-site by replacing the CSS only and not modifying the existing HTML?" I can't change the classes, ids, node hierarchy, etc. An example of the particular site that I am trying to re-skin is http://demo.nopcommerce.com/. • Secondary monitor bug: a problem in WPF or in the graphics driver?

  I have discovered a strange bug with my WPF application and I am trying to determine whether it is a problem with WPF or my graphics driver so that I can report it to the appropriate company. I have a Quadro FX 1700 with the latest drivers (197.54) on a Windows XP system, running a .NET 3.5 SP1 application. I have dual monitors, and when I maximize then minimize a child window of the main window on my primary monitor, the child window gets drawn on the secondary monitor as well. It appears in both places. I made a sample application (code is below) which induces this behavior. Start the application and ensure the main window is on your primary monitor. Double-click the main window. A green child window should appear. Click the green child window to maximize. Click the green child window to minimize. Can anyone else reproduce this problem? On my system the green child restores, but then it's drawn on both my primary and secondary monitors, rather than just the primary monitor. • jQuery not loading on Master Page when the Content Page is in a child folder.

  I have a site where I am trying to implement a jQuery UI based MessageBox in my master page. Content pages are arranged accoring to business area folders, i.e. '~/Branding/Contracts.aspx'. I find that when I load such a content page, jQuery, which is referenced in the master page as below, does not load. I assume that this is because the browser is requesting 'Branding/Scripts/jQuery '. What can I do about this?   When I add jquery to sharepoint 2007 (MOSS) and try and use it on a page no matter what I write on the client i get an "object expected" at the line/column where the "$" appears. I have used fiddler to check that the client is downloading the query JS (which it is) But its like its being ignore and therefor eth "$" is not understood. Searching google everybody is saying its the selector not finding the elements but see code below I do not see how it can not find my very simple example. • Running a Java program with a .dll from Adobe AIR's native process

  I would like to be able to operate a scanner from my AIR application. Since there's no support for this natively, I'm trying to use the NativeProcess class to start a jar file that can run the scanner. The Java code is using the JTwain library to operate the scanner. The Java application runs fine by itself, and the AIR application can start and communicate with the Java application. The problem seems to be that any time I attempt to use a function from JTwain (which relies on the JTwain.dll), the application dies IF AIR STARTED IT. I'm not sure if there's some limit about referencing dll files from the native process or what. • Nested class or not nested class?

  I have class A and list of A objects. A has a function f that should be executed every X seconds (for the first instance every 1 second, for the seconds instance every 5 seconds, etc.). I have a scheduler class that is responsible to execute the functions at the correct time. What i thought to do is to create a new class, ATime, that will hold ptr to A instance and the time A::f should be executed. The scheduler will hold a min priority queue of Atime. Do you think it is the correct implementation? Should ATime be a nested class of the scheduler?

  I have a composite drop down calendar user control that consists of a textbox and and calendar image and a validation control. I expose a property called "TextBox" on the usercontrol which returns a reference to the textbox used within the control. This is the textbox that the user enters the date into. In the ASPX page, I have an instance of this usercontrol: <uc1:DropDownCalendar ID="dtmDateFirstEntry" runat="server" Required="True" /> In my code behind, I want to detect when a user has tabbed off of the textbox and, using an UpdatePanel, referesh an appropriate message depending on the date that was specified. I didn't think that the trigger control had to be within the UpdatePanel. I thought that was the whole point of adding the trigger. How do I refresh this update panel changes to the text in the date usercontrol. Next I will have to add other triggers to trigger the refreshing of the Update Panel from other controls scattered across the page, so clearly all of the trigger sources cannot be within the UpdatePanel.
