  • How to pause an m4b file

    - by Phenom
    When I play m4b files on my computer, they open with iTunes. I can stop the file, but I cannot resume the file from within iTunes. In order to pick up where I left off, I have to open the file again. How can I resume where I left off from within iTunes? Is there another program that will play m4b files and resume from where you left off?

  • Why is lua crashing after extracting zip files?

    - by Brian T Hannan
    I have the following code but it crashes every time it reaches the end of the function, but it successfully extracts all the files and puts them in the right location. require "zip" function ExtractZipAndCopyFiles(zipPath, zipFilename, destinationPath) local zfile, err = zip.open(zipPath .. zipFilename) -- iterate through each file insize the zip file for file in zfile:files() do local currFile, err = zfile:open(file.filename) local currFileContents = currFile:read("*a") -- read entire contents of current file local hBinaryOutput = io.open(destinationPath .. file.filename, "wb") -- write current file inside zip to a file outside zip if(hBinaryOutput)then hBinaryOutput:write(currFileContents) hBinaryOutput:close() end end zfile:close() end -- call the function ExtractZipAndCopyFiles("C:\\Users\\bhannan\\Desktop\\LUA\\", "example.zip", "C:\\Users\\bhannan\\Desktop\\ZipExtractionOutput\\") Why does it crash every time it reaches the end?

  • How can I decode UTF-16 data in Perl when I don't know the byte order?

    - by Geo
    If I open a file ( and specify an encoding directly ) : open(my $file,"<:encoding(UTF-16)","some.file") || die "error $!\n"; while(<$file>) { print "$_\n"; } close($file); I can read the file contents nicely. However, if I do: use Encode; open(my $file,"some.file") || die "error $!\n"; while(<$file>) { print decode("UTF-16",$_); } close($file); I get the following error: UTF-16:Unrecognised BOM d at F:/Perl/lib/Encode.pm line 174 How can I make it work with decode?

  • What if I put two kinds of encoded strings, say utf-8 and utf-16, in one file?

    - by jonny
    In Python, for example: f = open('test','w') f.write('this is a test\n'.encode('utf-16')) f.write('another test\n'.encode('utf-8')) f.close() That file gets messy when I re-open it: f = open("test") print f.readline().decode('utf-16') # it leads to UnicodeDecodeError print f.readline().decode('utf-8') # it works fine However if I keep the texts encoded in one style (say utf-16 only), it could read back ok. So I'm guessing mixing two types of encoding in the same file is wrong and couldn't be decoded back, even if I do know the encoding rules of each specific string? Any suggestion is welcome, thank you!

  • Macbook Pro + Windows: How to make external monitor default monitor for games

    - by Linux Jedi
    When I boot into Windows on my Macbook Pro, I am unable to make the external monitor the default monitor. So when I play games full screen, they automatically open up on my laptop monitor. I want them to open up on my secondary monitor. The only solution I found to this is to make my external monitor mirror my laptop monitor. I can't even close the lid of the laptop monitor because that will cause the system to go to sleep.

  • Collect DOM elements from external HTML documents

    - by sonofdelphi
    I am trying to write a report-generator to collect user-comments from a list of external HTML files. User-comments are wrapped in < span elements. Can this be done using JavaScript? Here's my attempt: function generateCommentReport() { var files = document.querySelectorAll('td a'); //Files to scan are links in an HTML table var outputWindow = window.open(); //Output browser window for report for(var i = 0; i<files.length; i++){ //Open each file in a browser window win = window.open(); win.location.href = files[i].href; //Scan opened window for 'comment's comments = win.document.getElementsByName('comment'); for(var j=0;j<comments.length;j++){ //Add to output report outputWindow.document.write(comment[i].innerHTML); } } }

  • Images to video - converting to IplImage makes video blue

    - by user891908
    I want to create a video from images using opencv. The strange problem is that if i will write image (bmp) to disk and then load (cv.LoadImage) it it renders fine, but when i try to load image from StringIO and convert it to IplImage, it turns video to blue. Heres the code: import StringIO output = StringIO.StringIO() FOREGROUND = (0, 0, 0) TEXT = 'MY TEXT' font_path = 'arial.ttf' font = ImageFont.truetype(font_path, 18, encoding='unic') text = TEXT.decode('utf-8') (width, height) = font.getsize(text) # Create with background with place for text w,h=(600,600) contentimage=Image.open('0.jpg') background=Image.open('background.bmp') x, y = contentimage.size # put content onto background background.paste(contentimage,(((w-x)/2),0)) draw = ImageDraw.Draw(background) draw.text((0,0), text, font=font, fill=FOREGROUND) pi = background pi.save(output, "bmp") #pi.show() #shows image in full color output.seek(0) pi= Image.open(output) print pi, pi.format, "%dx%d" % pi.size, pi.mode cv_im = cv.CreateImageHeader(pi.size, cv.IPL_DEPTH_8U, 3) cv.SetData(cv_im, pi.tostring()) print pi.size, cv.GetSize(cv_im) w = cv.CreateVideoWriter("2.avi", cv.CV_FOURCC('M','J','P','G'), 1,(cv.GetSize(cv_im)[0],cv.GetSize(cv_im)[1]), is_color=1) for i in range(1,5): cv.WriteFrame(w, cv_im) del w

  • outbound ftp on server 2008 r2 stalls

    - by Scott Kramer
    the built in command line ftp client in server 2008 does not support passive mode so I've used these commands to allow outbound ftp (it stalls without this) 1) Open port 21 on the firewall netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="FTP (no SSL)" action=allow protocol=TCP dir=in localport=21 2) Activate firewall application filter for FTP (aka Stateful FTP) that will dynamically open ports for data connections netsh advfirewall set global StatefulFtp enable however in server 2008 r2, these commands seem to work, but it does not affect the outbound ftp, it stalls I do not want to use an alt client

  • how to develop domain specific language on top of another language ?

    - by sofreakinghigh
    say i found a good open source software/library written in python. i want to wrap some of the functions or methods that i have created into easy to understand language of my own. do porter_stemm(DOC) (the DSL) would be equivalent to the function or series of methods written in python. i want to create a DSL that is easy to learn, but need this DSL translated into the original open source software software. im not sure if i am clear here but my intention is: create an easy to learn code language that users can use to solve a problem in a certain niche. this simple language needs to be translated or compiled or interpretated via some middleware into the original open source software's language (python).

Thanks!

  • How to exit vncconfig process properly

    - by Stan
    On CentOS 5.7, when open up a vncconfig, a tray icon shows on the taskbar. Hit close or the x button to close the vncconfig doesn't exit the vncconfig, the tray icon is still there. Next time, if I open up another vncconfig rather than clicking the one on taskbar. There will be another vncconfig tray icon added to the taskbar. Except using kill $pid to remove the tray icon, is there any other way to exit the vncconfig process properly? See screenshot below:

  • Opening Excel 2007 to a specific worksheet from a file:// link

    - by Ben M
    Our internal website links to Excel files on a network-mapped drive. The links specify the filename and worksheet to open, in the following format (path and link information omitted): ExcelFileName#'SheetName'!$A$1 This works fine with Excel 2003, but we're moving to Excel 2007, which won't even open the file if that extra information is present. I haven't been able to find a definitive answer on whether this feature has been removed (or the syntax changed) in 2007. Any help will be highly appreciated!

  • What's the easiest way to get an iPhone 3GS movie into iMovie?

    - by bpapa
    It seems like the steps right now are: Shoot movie sync iPhone with Mac via iTunes Open iPhoto Import photos from iPhone into iPhoto Open iMovie (or retart if it was already running) On startup, iMovie detects videos in iPhoto and imports them. Yikes. Is there an easier way? It's a bit odd that the videos are handled as photos, in the first place. And no, I'm not jailbreaking my iPhone simply to save me a few of these steps.

  • Insert A Line At The Beginning Of A File

    - by thebourneid
    I'm trying to insert/add a line 'COMMENT DUMMY' at the beginnig of a file as a first row if /PATTERN/ not found. I know how to do this with OPEN CLOSE function. Probably after reading the file it should look something like this: open F, ">", $fn or die "could not open file: $!"; ; print F "COMMENT DUMMY\n", @array; close F; But I have a need to implement this with the use of the Tie::File function and don't know how. use strict; use warnings; use Tie::File; my $fn = 'test.txt'; tie my @lines, 'Tie::File', $fn or die "could not tie file: $!"; untie @lines;

  • Strange error: cannot convert from 'int' to 'ios_base::openmode'

    - by Dylan Klomparens
    I am using g++ to compile some code. I wrote the following snippet: bool WriteAccess = true; string Name = "my_file.txt"; ofstream File; ios_base::open_mode Mode = std::ios_base::in | std::ios_base::binary; if(WriteAccess) Mode |= std::ios_base::out | std::ios_base::trunc; File.open(Name.data(), Mode); And I receive these errors... any idea why? Error 1: invalid conversion from ‘int’ to ‘std::_Ios_Openmode’ Error 2: initializing argument 2 of ‘std::basic_filebuf<_CharT, _Traits* std::basic_filebuf<_CharT, _Traits::open(const char*, std::_Ios_Openmode) [with _CharT = char, _Traits = std::char_traits]’ As far as I could tell from a Google search, g++ is actually breaking the C++ standard here. Which I find quite astonishing, since they generally conform very strictly to the standard. Is this the case? Or am I doing something wrong. My reference for the standard: http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/iostream/ofstream/open/

  • How do I prevent ConEmu auto-attaching to every single cmd.exe?

    - by naxa
    I don't want ConEmu to attach to every cmd I open, but this is how it works now. I remember that I told ConEmu to do this, but I don't want it anymore. Maybe I just overlooked something, but I've read all the settings pages and I couldn't find an option to disable it. Am I missing something? How do I prevent ConEmu from attaching every single cmd.exe I open? My ConEmu version is 121109 x86, on winXPproSp3x86.
