• Wrapper class for HttpGet / Post in Java?

  Hi, Sorry, I'm quite new to Java. I've stumbled across HttpGet and HttpPost which seem to be perfect for my needs, but a little long winded. I have written a rather bad wrapper class, but does anyone know of where to get a better one? Ideally, I'd be able to do String response = fetchContent("http://url/", postdata); where postdata is optional. Thanks!

  I have a Perl script to open this page http://svejo.net/popular/all/new/ and filter the names of the posts but except headers everything seems encrypted. Nothing can be read. When I open the same page in a browser everything looks fine including the source code. How is it possible to encrypt a page for a script and not for a browser? My Perl script sends the same headers as my browser (Google Chrome).

  At the moment I have an existing application which basically consists of a desktop GUI and a TCP server. The client connects to the server, and the server notifies the client if something interesting happens. Now I'm supposed to replace the desktop GUI by a web GUI, and I'm wondering if I have to rewrite the server to send http packets instead of tcp packets or if I can somehow use some sort of proxy to grab the tcp packets and forward them to the web client? Do I need some sort of comet server?

  Hey, I have some code which queries a web server using HTTP GET URLConnection connection = new URL("www.example.com" + "?blah=ok").openConnection(); connection.setRequestProperty("Accept-Charset", "UTF-8"); InputStream http_response = connection.getInputStream(); Now when I run this code while connected to WiFi I get the expected response but when I run this with WiFi disabled I instead seem to get the response of www.example.com without the appended query. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Essentially I need to submit the same form twice on different servers, for the second server I'm adding some security measures to the post data. I can receive $_POST information on the second form perfectly fine, however I'm having major troubles with my $_FILES - I've tried separating the two so there's a separate request for post and files data but still no luck. • 301 redirects in .htaccess on apache

  I guess this should be straightforward but my host got me to switch server from zeus to apache following which the .htaccess file with existing individual 301 redirects failed to work causing an internal server error, so have commented them out for the time being. Could someone explain how to set these up to work in their new apache context? I have the following in my .htaccess Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^mypage.php$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}/mypage [R=301,L] The objective is to go from https://mysite.com/mypage.php to https://mysite.com/mypage This gives me a 404 error. I don't actually have the directory mypage/ existing. But from my understanding, I don't need to actually have mypage for mod_rewrite to work. What am I doing wrong?
