  • How to store multiple scroll positions for scrolling div element depending on active View in MultiView (asp.net webform

    confusing title but the best way I can put it. Basically I am currently using a single div with overflow:auto that contains different GridViews. The GridViews are swapped by using a MultiView with each indiviudal view containing a single GridView. I would like to be able to store the scroll position of each view so that I can set the div's scroll position depending on the view that will be switched to.     I'm loading an external .php file using: <script type="text/javascript" src="myfile.js.php"></script> Within the external myfile.js.php file, I'm using: <?php header('content-type: text/javascript'); $message = "Test message"; ?> document.write('<?php echo $message; ?>'); Everything works fine until I change the name of myfile.js.php to just myfile.php Why does it stop working if I remove the .js part from the file name? I'm serving the file as text/javascript, plus shouldn't the .js part be ignored since .php is the actual file extension? Does anyone know why? Thanks!

    I'm using Javawebparts Ajaxparts and would like to use one axis event multiple times in a form. Problem is that std:InnerHTML responseHandler takes its target html tag id in axis-config.xml so it seems impossible to reuse the definition when only thing that should change is the target tag id. Is there a way to set responseHandler parameters on the the page where it is used (in asix:event tag or someting)?

  • One-to-many Associations Empty Columns Issue (Ext on Rails)

    I'm playing with rewriting part of a web application in Rails + Ext. However, I'm having trouble getting an associated models' name to display in the grid view. I've been able to successfully convert several models and arrange the views nicely using tabs and Ext's layout helpers. However, I'm in the middle of setting up an association -- I've followed along with Jon Barket's tutorial on how to do this using Ext -- and I've made all the Rails and JS changes suggested (with appropriate name changes for my models,) the result being that the combo box is now being correctly populated with the names of the associated models, and changes are actually written correctly to database, BUT the data doesn't show up in the column, it's just empty. However, the correct data is there in the 'detail' view. Really just wondering if anyone else ran into this, or had any thoughts on what could be happening. Definitely willing to post code if requested; just note that (AFAIK) my changes follow the tutorial pretty closely. Thanks in advance! UPDATE: Alright, slight progress - kind of. I can get the associated model id # displaying properly -- just by modifying the column model slightly. But I can't get the virtual attribute displayed in the main table (in Jon's example it's country_name.) It still goes blank when I change the data source for that column from dataIndex: 'model[associated_model_id]' to dataIndex: 'virtual_attributes[associated_model_name]' ANOTHER UPDATE: Bump. Has NOBODY here tried integrating Ext with Rails?

    Hi, Assume i have a book entity with an isbn field. When entered a isbn number, i want 2 fields to be updated: title and author. My controller looks like this: def ajaxGetBook = { def book = Book.findByIsbn(params.isbn) if(book==null) book = new Book() render book as JSON } So my call works, and i get a full JSON Book. Now i would like to update 2 texfields by the update attribute <g:remoteField action="ajaxGetBook" update="title" name="isbn" value="${bookInstance?.book?.isbn}" paramName="isbn"/> Now the title field gets updated with the full book object, so that doesn't work. Is it possible to update field title with only the JSON book.title? Is it possible to update more fields at once? I could render book.title as JSON but that works for only one field. Thank you

If you now click on posture 2 you will see the element fades in below posture 1. I need to be able to swap posture 1 with posture 2.     Hello, In asp.net is it a requirement to rebuild the whole page during every callback? For example my web page is split into three distinct areas and I have an update panel for each area. Lets say I want to update the third area, do I have to bother with any processing of the other two areas? For example lets say there is a grid view in area two. What I want is that, when an item selected in the "category" list, everything in the "items" list from that category is also selected. For example, if "Categories" contains "Animal", "Mineral", and "Vegetable", and "Items" contains "Dog", "Cat", "Monkey", "Diamond", "Granite", "Carrot", "Tomato": If "Animal" is selected in one list, "Dog", "Cat", and "Monkey" should be selected; any other selections should remain as they are.     We have a report that compares data between weeks, and it seems like this is the exception and not the rule in the reporting world. I'm looking for an elegant way of selecting "a week" in a Silverlight control. I'd prefer not to spend the time building it ourselves, so it would be nice if I could buy a well polished control that does this. Sure, I could use a drop down list, but I would like a way to easily navigate through potentially years worth of weeks. Any existing controls out there? Any clever ways of using basic controls to achieve our goal? Thank you!

    I'm new to jQuery so this may be a real simple answer. I have a ASP.NET project that I'm trying to dynamically add content to a span element by typing into a text box and clicking a button. Sounds simple right? Well, I can get the content to added, but when the form is submitted the span element is still empty? Why is the new data not submitted? What step am I missing? Please help. If the username in a server, then it is returning the value as "1" otherwise empty, and despite of successfully getting the value from the server based on username is present or not, and assigning the value to variable "x", I'm unable to get message when I pass already exist username. (I'm aware, that I could search the list and set the selectedIndex property for each dropdown, but I have many items and i'm very lazy.) EDIT: npups answer works: I can select my desired item in the first dropdownlist. The problem is however, that new values based on that selected item (it is a CascadingDropDown, remember?) don't show in the second dropdown so I can't select anything there. I would need to somehow invoke the update method of the second dropdown manually: any suggestions?

    I'm using jQuery 1.4.2 to navigate smoothly between similar webpages (in ff3). When clicking on a link, a javascript script should load the new html, filter out the right elements and replace them on the current page. It looks like the $(htmlcode) does not do the thing I expected. The actions below work when loading the page directly, but when using the $.get I have the following problems: the find function seems only to look inside a div element called id="page", which is inside the body element one of the elements has <script>...</script>, but the <script>...</script> is not present in the DOM of $(htmlcode).
