• Rotate a drawn rectangle in flex

  i wrote the following code for drawing a rotate rectangle var s:UIComponent = new UIComponent(); s.graphics.lineStyle(1, 0x0000FF); s.graphics.drawRect(50, 50, 200, 200); s.rotation = 30; template.addChild(s); where template is a canvas. Its rotate nicely but the problem is the position is not in right place. i.e. it is not in (50,50) after rotate. How can i solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

And we are developing a application to evaluate programming assignments of student ( for 1st year student level) I just want to know how to integrate C++ compiler using C# code to compile C++ code. In our case we are loading a student C++ code into text area, then with a click on button we want to compile the code. And if there any compilation errors it will be displayed on text area nearby. (Interface is attached herewith.) And finally it able to execute the code if there aren't any compilation errors. And results will be displayed in console. We were able to do this with a C#(C# code will be loaded to text area intead of C++ code) code using inbuilt compiler. But still not able to do for C# code. Can anyone suggest a method to do this? It is possible to integrate external compiler to VS C# code? If possible how to achieve it? Very grateful if anyone will contributing to solve this matter?   Hello, I have a problem with performance of my code under Windows Forms. Have a form, her layout is depending on constructor data, because he layout must be OnLoad or in Constructor generated. I generation is simple, base FlowLayoutPanel have other FlowLayoutPanels, for each have a Label and TextBox with DataBinding. • Good overview tool / board for visualizing Subversion branch acitivity?

  Our team is sometimes finding it a bit confusing and time-consuming to figure out which subversion operations have been perrformed on our different branches in Subversion. Example, when has the Development branch last been merged into the Trunk? When was this particular Tag created, based on what branch etc etc. All of this information can of course be extracted from the Subversion Log, but thats always a manual, time-consuming and error-prone process. Simplest solution seems to be a simple whiteboard with a visualization of all the different branches/tags/trunk in Subversion and people drawing on it, whenever something significant happens. But we're not averse to finding some kind of a digital solution as well, stored centrally. Obviously both systems depend on people actually maintaining the model, but you'll always more or less have that. What do you use as best practice for keeping a clear view on all Subversion operations in the current Sprint (or beyond)?

• How should I think about perspectives and rotation in OpenGL ES?

  As I start to write rendering code, how do I want to consider my drawing operations? Will they always be relative to a fixed coordinate system on the screen, or does this change based on the camera perspective? The best example I can try to come up with is say I'm at (0,0,0) and I draw a line to (3,3,3). If I change the perspective +1 on the X axis and conduct the same operation, does it happen at (4,3,3), or am I just getting a new view of the line still being made at (3,3,3)? When doing rotation, am I moving the point from which a frustum emanates, or am I moving the rendering underneath?

• Warning vs. error

  I had an annoying issue, getting a "Possible loss of precision" error when compiling my Java program on BlueJ (But from what i read this isn't connected to a specific IDE). I was surprised by the fact that the compiler told me there is a possible loss of precision and wouldnt let me compile/run the program. Why is this an error and not a warning saying you might loose precision here, if you don't want that change your code? The program runs just fine when i drop the float values, it wouldn't matter since there is no point (e.g [143.08, 475.015]) on my screen. On the other hand when i loop through an ArrayList and in this loop i have an if clause removing elements from the ArrayList it runs fine, just throws an error and doesn't display the ArrayList [used for drawing circles] for a fraction of a second. This appears to me as a severe error but doesn't cause (hardly) any troubles, while i wouldn't want to have such a thing in my code at all. What's the boundary?

• How taxing would a game map grid be to a web browser?

  Suppose we're making a strategy game (think Civilization) in a web browser. The game has a visible map portion - say 30x30 squares. Each square is 30x30px and has several overlaid images - the terrain, resources, units, roads, etc. The classical way of drawing this would be with a huge <table> where each cell would contain absolutely positioned images. It would probably be rendered in Javascript to reduce traffic. But it's still several thousand images and a huge table. Can the browser take it? Will the performance not drop below any acceptable limits? Alternatively I could keep a pre-rendered map image with as many overlays as possible, but that would be more work, I think.

• jQuery UI problem: why do the elements go flying around the screen?

  Yes, I know the title sounds a little suspicious. I will try to explain this the best I can... The code below is supposed to have the blue div slide down beside the red div. The first time you hit the Show the div button, it works. Also, the Hide the div works. Then when I click to show the div again, it appears to the right of where it is supposed to be! Why is this?!? • Laying out JPanels to make a simple GUI

  Hello, first of all, this is more or less my first GUI and ive learned Java for not more then a week, so it might contain some serious programming errors. What i have right now is: Buttons and labels are part of OptionPanel and are on the left, DrawingPanel is about 5x5 px in size and is on the right. What I am trying to do is a simple test, to get me more familiar with the GUI. User can choose colors as many as he wants. I don't think that making Color model and has_many relationship is good solution here to store colors data in model A. • Is there a unified way to know if a node is visible or not?

  Hello guys, I'd like to be able to know if a node is visible and rendered on screen. As far as I know, there are at least 3 standard and easy ways of making HTML nodes not visible: Setting opacity: 0; Setting display: none; Setting visibility: hidden. I could check for just these three, but I'm afraid people can get creative when it comes to ways of hiding contents: Sending the element offscreen using negative margins; Using a width or height of 0 and hiding overflow; many more I trust people to have developed. So I was wondering if there is a standard way of determining if a node is rendered to the screen. I'm pretty sure all major browsers determine it for themselves to accelerate drawing, so maybe it's somehow exposed.
