  • Circular dock/menu in css or jquery

    Is it possible to have a circular menu or dock using css or jquery.? I have a set of images as the dock items that need to be displayed as a circular dock... however the number of items in the dock are not constant and may vary.... so i cannot tend to use constant values for positioning each item in a pre-defined manner. Ajax loads some images into this particular div and i need to use css or jquery to style this so that they get displayed as circular dock items. Any idea on how this can be implemented..? I would like a browser in-specific implementation, but i also welcome if some one has some solutions specific to few browsers... UPDATE I don't think i exactly want a pie menu... it easily gets messed up as the number of dock items increase. I am looking for a spiral dock. and by spiral i mean that the menu items must be in the following alignment..

    I'm currently learning C++ and i run into the simple problem of converting an int to a string. I've worked around it using: string IntToString(int Number) { stringstream Stream; Stream << Number; return Stream.str(); } but though it would be more elegant to use something like: int x = 5; string y = x.toString(); but how do i add the toString() method to a built in type? or am i missing something totally fundamental?

  • Hide other domains' menus from node edit form on a Drupal site using domain access

    I'm in the process of making some improvements to a live Drupal site that's using the Domain Access module to run a number of microsites. I'm trying to find a way of restricting the menus a user can post content to from the node edit screen. A user on one of the domains should only be able to post content to menus associated with that domain. Is there a simple way of achieving this? I'm guessing there are some hooks I could use, but so far I have been unable to identify them. I'd prefer not to have to install further modules to achieve this and to be able to add some code to the current site to alter the forms. The site is struggling with the large number of modules we've had to install on it already.

  • Monitoring .NET ASP.NET Applications

    I have a number of applications running on top of ASP.NET I want to monitor. The main things I care about are: Exceptions: We currently some custom code which will email us when an exception occurs. If the application is failing hard it will crash our outlook... I know (and use) elmah which partly solves the problem however it is still just a big table of exceptions with a pretty(ish) UI. I want something that makes sense of all of these exceptions (e.g. groups exceptions, alerts when new ones occur, tells me what the common ones are that I should fix, etc) Logging: We currently log to files which are then accessible via a shared folder which dev's grep & tail. Does anyone know of better ways of presenting this information. In an ideal world I want to associate it with exceptions. Performance: Request times, memory usage, cpu, etc. whatever stats I can get I'm guessing this is probably going to be solved by a number of tools, has anyone got any suggestions?

  • Is this possible with Sql 2005 CTE?

    I have been working on a query that will return a suggested start date for a manufacturing line based on due date and the number of minutes needed to complete the task. There is a calendar table(LINE_ID, CALENDAR_DATE, SCHEDULED_MINUTES) that displays per manufacturing line, the number of minutes scheduled for that day. Example: (Usually 3 shifts worth of time scheduled per day, no weekends but can vary) 1, 06/8/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/7/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/6/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/5/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/4/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 In order to get the suggested start date, I need to start with the due date and iterate downward through the days until i have accumulated enough time to complete the task. My Question can something like this be done with CTE, or is this something that should be handled by a cursor. Or... am i just going about this the wrong way completely??

  • How can I generate a random human-readable colour from a seed? C#

    Got a logfile, and it has all kinds of text in it. Currently it is just displayed as one colour, and each entry says something like: Log from section 1: Some text here Log from section 125: Some text here Log from section 17: Some text here Log from section 1: Some text here Log from section 125: Some text here Log from section 1: Some text here Log from section 17: Some text here Now the logfile is displayed in real time, and it would be nice to make the rows with the same section number the same colour. However there could be potentially quite a large range of numbers. What I want to do is create a method that will take a number, and randomly generate a unique colour. The colour must be readable against a black background though, so #000000 is no good, nor is #101010 or anything too dark to read. Ideally two similar numbers will not produce the same colour because in the above examples, the numbers 1 and 17 might be too similar, and some numbers might be in the 10,000 range. Any ideas on this?

    I'm working on new data type for arbitrary length numbers (only non-negative integers) and I got stuck at implementing square root and exponentiation functions (only for natural exponents). Please help. I store the arbitrary length number as a string, so all operations are made char by char. Please don't include advices to use different (existing) library or other way to store the number than string. It's meant to be a programming exercise, not a real-world application, so optimization and performance are not so necessary. If you include code in your answer, I would prefer it to be in either pseudo-code or in C++. The important thing is the algorithm, not the implementation itself. Thanks for the help.

  • Force Decimal Regex

    Hi, I'm looking for a regex or a way to format the NumberValidator so that only decimal places are allowed. The domain="real" allows you to put integer values, but I need to force the user to but in 2.0 if they want an integer. This is because they pass through a Castor mapping file, it complains if it gets an integer when it expects a decimal. I dont want to restrict the number of decimal places, just insist that there must be a point, and a number after it. Any help would be much appreciated.

    I am showing 6 posts on one page. On the 7th post, pagination occurs on so on. goal: If there is more than one page (page 1, 2, 3, etc..), JavaScript is to add a specific div element. If there are only 6 posts or less, no pagination occurs, no div element is added. The number of posts to show: $showposts = get_query_var('showposts'); The current post number I can keep track of: $post_count++; Problem is I can keep track of posts 1-6 but how to tell if if it goes over to 7 and starts pagination? I thought there was a global variable that returns if pagination occurs, but I can't seem to find it. (I know there is global to detect pagination via <!--nextpage--> but so far I can't find it's equivalent for index.php).

  • Parsing string logic issue c#

    This is a follow on from this question My program is taking in a string that is comprised of two parts: a distance value and an id number respectively. I've split these up and stored them in local variables inside my program. All of the id numbers are stored in a dictionary and are used check the incoming distance value. Though I should note that each string that gets sent into my program from the device is passed along on a single string. The next time my program receives that a signal from a device, it overrides the previous data that was there before. Should the id key coming into my program match one inside my dictionary, then a variable held next to my dictionaries key, should be updated. However, when I run my program, I don't get 6 different values, I only get the same value and they all update at the same time.     I'm interested in the computational power of neural nets. It is generally accepted that recurrent neural nets are Turing complete. Now I was searching for some papers which proofs this. What I found so far: Turing computability with neural nets, Hava T. Siegelmann and Eduardo D. Sontag, 1991 I think this is only interesting from a theoretical point of view because it needs to have the neuron activity of infinite exactness (to encode the state somehow as a rational number). S. Franklin and M. Garzon, Neural computability This needs an unbounded number of neurons and also doesn't really seem to be that much practical. (Note that another question of mine tries to point out this kind of problem between such theoretical results and the practice.) I'm searching mostly for some neural net which really can execute some code which I can also simulate and test in practice. Of course, in practice, they would have some kind of limited memory. Does anyone know something like this?

    I need to run a Select statement (DB2 SQL) that does not pull adjacent row duplicates based on a certain field. In specific, I am trying to find out when data changes, which is made difficult because it might change back to its original value. That is to say, I have a table that vaguely resembles: A, 5, Jan A, 12, Feb A, 12, Mar A, 12, Apr A, 9, May A, 9, Jun A, 5, Jul And I want to get the results: A, 5, Jan A, 12, Feb A, 9, May A, 5, Jul discarding adjacent duplicates but keeping the last row. The obvious: Select Letter, Number, Min(Month) from Table group by Letter, Number does not work -- it doesn't include the last row.

    I know that peripheral devices such as a hard driver, a floppy driver, etc are controlled by reading/writing certain control registers on their device controllers. I am wondering about the following questions: Is it true that when these peripheral devices are plugged onto the computer, the addresses(port numbers) of their control registers are thus determined by how they are attached to the address bus (i.e. the hard-wiring rules, not any soft things)? Who makes the scheme of the port number assignment? If I was given a naked computer(with no operating system and with many peripheral devices), how could I figure out the port number assignment so I can use them to control peripheral deveices.   • Sharepoint connected web parts question

    I have one web part (the provider) which displays insurance claims in a gridview. When user clicks on one this value(case number) is passed via IWebPartField interface to another web part(consumer) which displays detailed info about the claim. So far so good. I can select different claims in the provider and the details show up in the consumer just fine. The moment I add a TextBox to the consumer, the consumer no longer recognizes the case number passed. I need the user to be able to enter a value in the textbox and click a button to update that claim info. I can debug and attach to process and it looks like it is getting the case in the callback function, etc, but when it is setting parameters for the stored proc in CreateChildControls, it is null. Comment out the TextBox and it works fine. Any clues as to what is going on? Brand new to Sharepoint web parts...any help appreciated! thanks, PhilJ

I am trying to take : g**x where g = 256 bit number x = 256 bit number Python hangs at this point, i have read alot of forums, threads etcc but only come to the conclusion that python hangs, as its hard for it to process such large numbers. any idea how can it be done? any two line piece of code, any library, anything that can be done.(ALSO PLEASE I AM A NEW PYTHON USER AND THIS IS FIRST TIME I DID PROGRAMMING IN IT, SO NO COMPLEX METHODS ...HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND :s)

  • UIPickerView and empty core data array

    I have a viewcontroller showing items from a core data entity. I also have a tableview listing records from the same entity. The table is editable, and the user could remove all the records. When this happens, the view controller holding the pickerview bombs because it's looking for records in an empty array. How to prevent this?     Hello everyone, I want to count the number of accounts from the resulting table generated from this code. This way, I know how many people liked blue at one time. Select Distinct PEOPLE.FullName, PEOPLE.FavColor From PEOPLE Where FavColor='Blue' Lets say this is a history accounting of what people said their favorite color when they were asked so there may be multiple records of the same full name if asked again at a much later time; hence the distinct. The code I used may not be reusable in your answer so feel free to use what you think can work. I am sure I found a possible solution to my problem using declare and if statements but I lost that page... so I am left with no solution. However, I think there is a way to do it without using conditionals which is what I am asking and rather have. Thanks. Edit: My question is: From the code above, is there a way to count the number of accounts in the resulting table?

  • How to represent a Many-To-Many relationship in XML or other simple file format?

    I have a list management appliaction that stores its data in a many-to-many relationship database. I.E. A note can be in any number of lists, and a list can have any number of notes. I also can export this data to and XML file and import it in another instance of my app for sharing lists between users. However, this is based on a legacy system where the list to note relationship was one-to-many (ideal for XML). Now a note that is in multiple lists is esentially split into two identical rows in the DB and all relation between them is lost. Question: How can I represent this many-to-many relationship in a simple, standard file format? (Preferably XML to maintain backwards compatibility)
