  I am confused about how best to design this algorithm. A ship has x pirates, where the age of the jth pirate is aj and the weight of the jth pirate is wj. I am thinking of a dynamic programming algorithm, which will find the oldest pirate whose weight is in between twenty-fifth and seventy-fifth percentile of all pirates. But I am clueless as to how to proceed.

I was wondering what accessibility and usability issues should be taken into account when creating a website for such users, apart from obvious ones - such as bigger font, compatibility with current standards, straight-forward interface. I notice that GMail's iPad interface (and other mobile interfaces) doesn't scroll down in a normal web browser (pretending to be an iPad via a user-agent hack). How can one access this API on a PC? I have a school full of tablet PCs that aren't wonderful in tablet mode due to lack of application support, but there looks to be an increasing number of web-based apps that will fill this gap.

  Hi guys, I'm developing an Windows Mobile 6.5 start menu replacement called JWMD Stuick. Currently, I'm able to detect if the Start Menu is created or destroyed by checking GetWindowLong() API.. Though this does not guarantee if Start Menu is visible or not because other cooked ROM was even if the Start Menu is closed or an app was executed from Start Menu -- the Start Menu GWL still has value. Do guys have better ways or ideas how to check if Start Menu is Visible? Thanks.
