  • How can I test to see if a class contains a particular attribute?

    - by BryanWheelock
    How can I test to see if a class contains a particular attribute? In [14]: user = User.objects.get(pk=2) In [18]: user.__dict__ Out[18]: {'date_joined': datetime.datetime(2010, 3, 17, 15, 20, 45), 'email': u'[email protected]', 'first_name': u'', 'id': 2L, 'is_active': 1, 'is_staff': 0, 'is_superuser': 0, 'last_login': datetime.datetime(2010, 3, 17, 16, 15, 35), 'last_name': u'', 'password': u'sha1$44a2055f5', 'username': u'DickCheney'} In [25]: hasattr(user, 'username') Out[25]: True In [26]: hasattr(User, 'username') Out[26]: False I'm having a weird bug where more attributes are showing up than I actually define. I want to conditionally stop this. e.g. if not hasattr(User, 'karma'): User.add_to_class('karma', models.PositiveIntegerField(default=1))

  • XML parsing design using xmlpp and C++

    - by shagv
    I would like to use an xml format similar to the following: <CONFIG> <PROFILE NAME="foobar"> <PARAM ID="0" NAME="Foo" CLASS="BaseParam"/> <PARAM ID="2" NAME="Bar" CLASS="StrIntParam"> <VALUE TYPE="STRING">some String</VALUE> <VALUE TYPE="INT">1234</VALUE> </PARAM> </PROFILE> </CONFIG> CONFIG contains a list of PROFILEs which contain a list of PARAMs which themselves can be any structure (to be defined in the future). The idea was to define classes that parsed each PARAM type and to keep track of which class to use in the PARAM's CLASS attribute. In code I have a config class that manages the list of profiles and a profile class that manages the list of params. I would like the profile class to handle additional param types (that inherit BaseParam) without modification to the profile class (or at the very least with minimal modification). First of all, is this design viable? If so, what are some ways I could use different param classes and have their creation at run-time be automatic (the profile class sees the CLASS attribute and knows which type to create)?

  • Blueprint CSS & Boks: strange behavior with prepend and append in FF and Chrome

    - by Shyam
    Hi, I am working a bit with Blueprint CSS framework and I stumbled upon Boks. I am pretty unfamiliar with the BPCSS framework, but it seems that when using prepend and append, Firefox and Chrome (both) are not liking the input. I generated the code from Boks and for my newbe eye-sight, I can't directly see what went wrong in the export. Even though the span-sizes are correct, they are mutated :S Please help me! <div class="container showgrid"> <!-- first row --> <div class="span-3 prepend-2" id="bar-menuitems"> </div> <div class="span-6 prepend-4" id="banner-logo"> </div> <div class="span-3 prepend-4 append-2 last" id="bar-socialmedia"> </div> <!-- second row --> <div class="clear span-20 prepend-2 append-2 last" id="pane-graphics"> </div> <!-- third row --> <div class="clear span-5 prepend-2" id="banner-xx1"> </div> <div class="span-5" id="banner-xx2"> </div> <div class="span-5" id="banner-xx3"> </div> <div class="span-5 append-2 last" id="banner-xx4"> </div> <!-- last row --> <div class="clear span-6 prepend-9 append-9 last" id="bar-footer"> </div> </div>

  • Django - Specifying default attr for Custom widget

    - by Pierre de LESPINAY
    I have created this widget class DateTimeWidget(forms.TextInput): attr = {'class': 'datetimepicker'} class Media: js = ('js/jquery-ui-timepicker-addon.js',) Then I use it on my form class SessionForm(forms.ModelForm): class Meta: model = Session def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): super(SessionForm, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) self.fields['start_time'].widget = DateTimeWidget() self.fields['end_time'].widget = DateTimeWidget() No css class is applied to my fields (I'm expecting datetimepicker applied to both start_time & end_time). I imagine I have put attr at a wrong location. Where am I supposed to specify it ?

  • DropDownList Value not changing with UpdatePanel and ModalPopupExtender

    - by Richard
    Greetings, I have an asp.net webpage with an modalpopupextender inside of an updatepanel. When I click Ok on the popup, I can get the textbox values from the popup just fine, but the DropDownLists have the old/default value, not the new value I have selected for them. All the controls on the popup are set to enableviewstate = true, and autopostback = false (I just want to make the trip to the server when I click the ok button, not every time I change the value of the popups). Here is the relevant code. ========================== Client Side <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Panel ID="EditIssuePanel" runat="server" CssClass="modalPopup" Style="display:block;" > <table style="width:500px;"> <tr style="height:50px;"> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <asp:Label ID="lblEditIssueHeader" runat="server" Text="Edit Issue"></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblIssueName" runat="server" Text="Name:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtName" runat="server" Width="250px" MaxLength="50"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblDescription" runat="server" Text="Description:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtDescription" runat="server" Width="250px" MaxLength="1000"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblType" runat="server" Text="Type:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlType" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="B">Bug</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="R">Request</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="O">Other</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblStatus" runat="server" Text="Status:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlStatus" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="L">Logged</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="I">In Process</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="C">Complete</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> &nbsp; </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblPriority" runat="server" Text="Priority:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlPriority" runat="server" EnableViewState="true" AutoPostBack="false"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="L">Low</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="M">Medium</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="H">High</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Logger</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblEnteredByClientUserID" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblDateResolutionRequested" runat="server" Text="Requested Complete Date:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <igsch:WebDateChooser ID="wdcRequestCompleteDate" runat="server"> </igsch:WebDateChooser> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Logged Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblLoggedDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">In Process Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblInProcessDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Resolved Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblResolvedDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn" valign="top"> <asp:Label ID="lblEmailCCList" runat="server" Text="Email CC:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtEmailCCList" runat="server" MaxLength="2000" Rows="0" TextMode="MultiLine" Height="83px" Width="250px"></asp:TextBox> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr> <td> <asp:Label ID="lblIssueID" runat="server" Text="" Visible="false"></asp:Label> <asp:Label ID="lblClientID" runat="server" Text="" Visible="false"></asp:Label> </td> <td align="right"> <asp:Button ID="btnEditOk" runat="server" Text="Ok" onclick="btnEditOk_Click"/>&nbsp;&nbsp; <asp:Button ID="btnEditCancel" runat="server" Text="Cancel" onclick="btnEditCancel_Click" />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </td> </tr> </table> </asp:Panel> . . .   • Help in XPath expression

    - by Ashish Gupta
    I have an XML document which contains nodes like following:- <a class="custom">test</a> <a class="xyz"></a> I was tryng to get the nodes for which class is NOT "Custom" and I wrote an expression like following:- XmlNodeList nodeList = document.SelectNodes("//*[self::A[@class!='custom'] or self::a[@class!='custom']]"); Now, I want to get IMG tags as well and I want to add the following experession as well to the above expression:- //*[self::IMG or self::img] ...so that I get all the IMG nodes as well and any tag other than having "custom" as value in the class attribute. Any help will be appreciated. EDIT :- I tried the following and this is an invalid syntax as this returns a boolean and not any nodelist:- XmlNodeList nodeList = document.SelectNodes("//*[self::A[@class!='custom'] or self::a[@class!='custom']] && [self::IMG or self::img]");

  • What amount of physical RAM would a typical "commodity class" server have, as of late 2013?

    - by marathon
    I'm trying to spec out servers for my company's infrastructure group to build. They tell me anything more than 2GB is too much, which I find ridiculous considering cheap DRAM is about 15 bucks a dimm in bulk and our particular software runs better with more memory. I tried to find out how much google servers use, and pinning down a number is hard. Best I could find in a google research paper was that in 2008, their commodity servers were using 2 and 4GB dimms, but the paper never said how many. I realize "commodity server" is a vague term, but I'm just looking for a rough range in RAM used. I suspect at least 16GB is going to be the norm.

  • How to not allow parts of sortable jquery list to move?

    - by sanpell
    I made a sortable list: <ul> <li class="line"><a href="#" class="food">milk</a></li> <li class="line"><a href="#" class="food">eggs</a></li> <li class="line"><a href="#" class="food">cheese</a></li> </ul> However, I want to make everything with class food not draggable. Since they are links, sometimes when people click them, they accidently reorder the list. Does anyone know how to make just the "food" class items not "draggable"?

  • How can I limit access to a particular class to one caller at a time in a web service?

    - by MusiGenesis
    I have a web service method in which I create a particular type of object, use it for a few seconds, and then dispose it. Because of problems arising from multiple threads creating and using instances of this class at the same time, I need to restrict the method so that only one caller at a time ever has one of these objects. To do this, I am creating a private static object: private static object _lock = new object(); ... and then inside the web service method I do this around the critical code: lock (_lock) { using (DangerousObject do = new DangerousObject()) { do.MakeABigMess(); do.CleanItUp(); } } I'm not sure this is working, though. Do I have this right? Will this code ensure that only one instance of DangerousObject is instantiated and in use at a time?

  • Is there any way, short of "copy and paste inheritence" to share a .net class with a Silverlight app

    - by Jekke
    I have a project in two parts: a Silverlight front end and a WCF duplex service. Ideally, I would like to pass a message of a custom type (call it TradeOffer) from the WCF service to be consumed by the Silverlight application. When I try to, I get an error that indicates I can't pass an object of an unknown type across the wire like that and that, maybe, I could do so if I used the InternalsVisibleTo attribute on the server component. I'm not sure if that would work in this environment and know it would be messy in development. I originally put the message definition in a library to be used by both the service and the client, but couldn't add a reference to the library from the Silverlight client (because it's not a Silverlight assembly.) Is there some way I can access the definition of a message class from both the Silverlight client that consumes it and the service that publishes it without using the InternalsVisibleTo attribute or should I write the application another way?

  • Concrete Implementation of Generic Form Not Working in Designer

    - by Dov
    I have a base class, defined as below (I'm also using DevExpress components): public abstract partial class BaseFormClass<R> : XtraForm where R : DataRow { ... } Contrary to what I've read from elsewhere, I'm still able to design this class. I didn't have to create a concrete class from it to do so. But, when I create a concrete class descended from it (as below), that class won't work in the designer. public partial class ConcreteFormClass : BaseFormClass<StronglyTypedRow> { ... } I get this message: The designer could not be shown for this file because none of the classes within it can be designed. The designer inspected the following classes in the file: ConcreteFormClass --- The base class 'BaseFormClass' could not be loaded. Ensure the assembly has been referenced and that all projects have been built. Has anyone seen this before? Any sort of known workaround?

  • Dynamically writing page titles and active classes with php

    - by toomanyairmiles
    For some time now I've been using the following code to dynamically write in html page titles and add an active class to menu items. Is this still a good why to achieve this or are there better/smarter/optimal ways of achieving the same thing? <?php echo (basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'])=='contact.php'? • How to create a css rule for all elements except one class?!

    Hi, I have created a CSS stylesheet for my project. Is there any way I can create a css rule that applies to all table elements EXCEPT table elements belonging to the class "dojoxGrid"? Something like: .not(dojoxGrid) table{ width:100%; border-top:1px solid #dddddd; border-left:1px solid #dddddd; border-right:1px solid #dddddd; margin:1em auto; border-collapse:collapse; } Thanks in advance!

  • Problem with persisting a collection, that references an internal property, at design time in winfor

    - by Jules
    ETA: Jesus, I'm sick of this. This problem was specifically about persisting an interface collection but now on further testing it doesn't work for a normal collection. Here's some even simpler code: Public Class Anger End Class Public Class MyButton Inherits Button Private _Annoyance As List(Of Anger) <DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)> _ Public ReadOnly Property Annoyance() As List(Of Anger) Get Return _Annoyance End Get End Property Private _InternalAnger As Anger <DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)> _ Public ReadOnly Property InternalAnger() As Anger Get Return Me._InternalAnger End Get End Property Public Sub New() Me._Annoyance = New List(Of Anger) Me._InternalAnger = New Anger Me._Annoyance.Add(Me._InternalAnger) End Sub End Class The designer screws up the persistence code in the same way as the original problem. ---- Original Problem The easiest way to explain this problem is to show you some code: Public Interface IAmAnnoyed End Interface Public Class IAmAnnoyedCollection Inherits ObjectModel.Collection(Of IAmAnnoyed) End Class Public Class Anger Implements IAmAnnoyed End Class Public Class MyButton Inherits Button Private _Annoyance As IAmAnnoyedCollection <DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)> _ Public ReadOnly Property Annoyance() As IAmAnnoyedCollection Get Return _Annoyance End Get End Property Private _InternalAnger As Anger <DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)> _ Public ReadOnly Property InternalAnger() As Anger Get Return Me._InternalAnger End Get End Property Public Sub New() Me._Annoyance = New IAmAnnoyedCollection Me._InternalAnger = New Anger Me._Annoyance.Add(Me._InternalAnger) End Sub End Class And this is the code that the designer generates: Private Sub InitializeComponent() Dim Anger1 As Anger = New Anger Me.MyButton1 = New MyButton ' 'MyButton1 ' Me.MyButton1.Annoyance.Add(Anger1) // Should be: Me.MyButton1.Annoyance.Add(Me.MyButton1.InternalAnger) ' 'Form1 ' Me.Controls.Add(Me.MyButton1) End Sub I've added a comment to the above to show how the code should have been generated. Now, if I dispense with the interface and just have a collection of Anger, then it persists correctly. Any ideas?

  • Why doesn't this jQuery snippet work in IE8 like it does in Chrome/Firefox (live demo included)?

    - by Siracuse
    I asked for help earlier on Stackoverflow involving highlighting spans with the same Class when a mouse hovers over any Span with that same Class. It is working great: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2709686/how-can-i-add-a-border-to-all-the-elements-that-share-a-class-when-the-mouse-has $('span[class]').hover( function() { $('.' + $(this).attr('class')).css('background-color','green'); }, function() { $('.' + $(this).attr('class')).css('background-color','yellow'); } ) Here is an example of it in usage: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/638285/0utput.html However, it doesn't appear to work properly in IE8, while it DOES work in Chrome/Firefox. Here is a screenshot of it in IE8, with my mouse hovered over the " min) { min" section in the middle. As you can see, it highlighted the span that the mouse is hovering over perfectly fine. However, it has also highlighted some random spans above and below it that don't have the same class! Only the span's with the same Class as the one where the mouse is over should be highlighted green. In this screenshot, only that middle green section should be green. Here is a screenshot of it working properly in Firefox/Chrome with my mouse in the exact same position: This screenshot is correct as the span that the mouse is over (the green section) is the only one in this section that shares that class. Why is IE8 randomly green-highlighting spans when it shouldn't be (they don't share the same class) using my little jQuery snippet? • What is Ruby's analog to Python Metaclasses?

    - by Sean Copenhaver
    Python has the idea of metaclasses that, if I understand correctly, allow you to modify an object of a class at the moment of construction. You are not modifying the class, but instead the object that is to be created then initialized. Python (at least as of 3.0 I believe) also has the idea of class decorators. Again if I understand correctly, class decorators allow the modifying of the class definition at the moment it is being declared. Now I believe there is an equivalent feature or features to the class decorator in Ruby, but I'm currently unaware of something equivalent to metaclasses. I'm sure you can easily pump any Ruby object through some functions and do what you will to it, but is there a feature in the language that sets that up like metaclasses do? So again, Does Ruby have something similar to Python's metaclasses? Edit I was off on the metaclasses for Python. A metaclass and a class decorator do very similar things it appears. They both modify the class when it is defined but in different manners. Hopefully a Python guru will come in and explain better on these features in Python. But a class or the parent of a class can implement a __new__(cls[,..]) function that does customize the construction of the object before it is initialized with __init__(self[,..]).

  • Extracting table rows with a particular attribute from an HTML File, using HTMLAgilityPack

    - by Soham
    Consider this html snippet: <tr> <td valign=top class="tim_new"><a href="/stocks/company_info/pricechart.php?sc_did=MI42" class="tim_new">3M India</a></td> <td class="tim_new" valign=top><a href='/stocks/marketstats/indcomp.php?optex=NSE&indcode=Diversified' class=tim>Diversified</a></td> <td class="tim_new" align=right valign=top>2,487.25</td> <td class="tim_new" align=right valign=top><font color=#16a903>187.25</font></td> <td class="tim_new" align=right valign=top><font color=#16a903>8.14</font></td> <td class="tim_new" align=right valign=top>2,801.90</td> <td class="tim_new" align=right valign=top>0.06</td> </tr> Realize these three things: The HTML file from which this snippet has been taken, contains multiple number of HTML tables. The table from which this snippet has been extracted doesnt contain only rows of the shown format, but also of other formats like this, for example: <tr><td colspan=7><img src="http://img1.moneycontrol.com/images/blank.gif"height="5"></td></tr>` This same table contains multiple rows of the format which I need to extract. So given this scenario, is it possible to run a code, which extracts, the link with the class name = "tim_new"? Help Appreciated, Soham

  • Circular dependencies in StructureMap - can they be broken with property injection?

    - by Andy
    Hi, I've got the simplest kind of circular dependency in structuremap - class A relies on class B in its constructor, and class B relies on class A in its constructor. To break the dependency, I made class B take class A as a property, rather than a constructor argument, but structuremap still complains. I've seen circular dependencies broken using this method in other DI frameworks - is this a problem with Structuremap or am I doing something wrong? Edit: I should mention that class B's property is an array of class A instances, wired up like this: x.For<IB>().Singleton().Use<B>().Setter(y => y.ArrayOfA).IsTheDefault();

  • Static lib that links another static lib and qmake? Odd linking error

    - by Dan O
    I have two qt .pro files, both using the lib TEMPLATE and staticlib CONFIG. The first library (lets call it 'core') is a dependency for the second lib (I'll call it 'foo'). In fact, there's a class in foo that extends a class in core, I will call this class Bar. When I instantiate the class (which is defined and implemented in foo, but extends a class (Bar) from core) in another project (not a lib) I get the following linking error: /usr/bin/ld: Undefined symbols: Bar::Bar() Basically, the linker cannot find the class in the core lib that has been derived in the foo lib, but ONLY when I instantiate the class in a third project that is using both libs. Is this behaviour expected? Regards, Dan O Update: I fixed it by directly invoking the Bars constructor in the third project before using derived class... does anyone know why I need to do this?
