  • How to stop processes from going into the page file

    I have a server, and windows vista, 64-bit, 4gb ram. Sometimes the server randomly drops into the page file, and disconnects everyone who was online. Only after I click the cmd.exe window does it comes back out. How do I mark a program as not eligible for the page file? If this is relevant, I'm using a Minecraft server with the following command line arguments: java -server -Xmx256M -Xms256M -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseAdaptiveGCBoundary -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=200 -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit -XX:SurvivorRatio=16 -Xnoclassgc -XX:UseSSE=3 -XX:ParallelGCThreads=3 -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

  • Cancelled a format using diskpart at 0%. Can I get the data back?

    I wanted to format my USB thumbdrive, but incorrectly did the following on my external HDD!! CMD -- Diskpart select disk 2 clean create partition primary select partition 1 active format fs=fat32 While it was still at 0% however, I cancelled the format and quit from CMD. I can no longer see the HDD in My computer though, and it shows up as below in diskpart Disk 1 Status - Online Size- 1800 GB Free - 0B Is there anything I can do to get the data and HDD back?

  • One google IP address is failing. Is there a way to force a switch to different one?

    The google ip address 74.125.53.100 is failing. I know no one would believe this so I did an online ping: As this image shows one of the IP addresses for Google is failing. But there are others. If I type them in then I can get to Google just fine. But when I try to search, Google reverts back to the broken IP. Is there any way for me to say "I want to do a search with one of the working IP addresses"?

    I want to buy a Nokia 5530 and run Gizmo5 on it in order to receive and make calls. I want to get a call in number based in England and was wondering if receiving calls via the call in number on my mobile via wifi would use any of my callout credit? I ask because the Skype lite version uses your callout credit if you receive a call on it using your online number (it doesn't if you use the desktop version). Thanks!

Hi can do a rewrite rule like this: RewriteRule ^/myapp(.*) http://xxx:8080/myapp$1 [P,L] This way, if a user goes to the URL http://xxx/myapp he can enter the app fine, but the port will still show up on the browser. I want the URL that the user sees to be always http://xxx/myapp How can I do this using mod_rewrite?

    when I install stuff under built-in Administrator - the other users cannot see the changes. for example I changed VS2012 install - added Blend and few other features - and they are invisible under another user - my 'Microsoft account' ... I surely don't want this kind of behavior. Can it be changed? EDIT: I want those apps 'legitimately installed' for all users so I can use Search and see them on my Start screen.

Every reference I've found online for doing this is using older versions of SQL Server, and the driver that they tell you to use 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0', is not present in 2012 from what I can tell.     I have a collection of ripped CDs that were transcoded to a very low bitrate. (and I lost the original MP3s) I'd like to re-rip the CDs to a higher bitrate, and apply the ID3 tags from the existing rips to the new files. (These are custom tags; they will not be found in online databases) Is there any way to automatically copy ID3 tags by length and track number, or do I need to write one myself?

    Do anyone know why since Maverick update, Navicat can't connect anymore to any database which is saved into "/Users/Username" folder? It keeps saying: "Database file path is not correct". If I copy/paste the same DB in any other folder it connects perfectly. I need to open DBs in that folder because that's the folder where Xcode put the Apps ones and I can't everytime I need to modify them, copy/paste them on my desktop and then put them back again.

    I wonder what main purposes and benefits can one get after he sets up a webserver running on Linux installed on a VM which is hosted by Windows and that this webserver can be used as a local host for windows ? That is, I have java application that is a webserver made on Linux, I set up the virtual machine for the windows client apps to listen to its (Linux)'s local IP address and port e.g 192.168.50.50:11111 When my webserver runs, I can use http://192.168.50.50/ as the windows's localhost address (instead of 127.0.0.1 as I usually do).   • Asus K55A Windows 8.1 touchpad smart gestures not working

    Took me a bit to realize that since upgrading to 8.1 my touchpad smart gestures (two finger scroll, top down swipe, left in swipe, ect) don't work. I have read up a little online but can't seem to find an answer or fix that 1) sounds trustworthy and 2) is put into language and steps that I understand. I already have a hard time navigating windows 8 in general, so any help is awesome, but please dumb it down for me if you can. Thanks -K-
