• Pylons/Routes Did url_for() change within templates?

  I'm getting an error: GenerationException: url_for could not generate URL. Called with args: () {} from this line of a mako template: <p>Your url is ${h.url_for()}</p> Over in my helpers.py, I do have: from routes import url_for Looking at the Routes-1.12.1-py2.6.egg/routes/util.py, I seem to go wrong about line it calls _screenargs(). This is simple functionality from the Pylons book. What silly thing am I doing wrong? Was there a new url_current()? Where?

• Find the minimum gap between two numbers in an AVL tree

  I have a data structures homework, that in addition to the regular AVL tree functions, I have to add a function that returns the minimum gap between any two numbers in the AVL tree (the nodes in the AVL actually represent numbers.) Lets say we have the numbers (as nodes) 1 5 12 20 23 21 in the AVL tree, the function should return the minimum gap between any two numbers. In this situation it should return "1" which is |20-21| or |21-20|. It should be done in O(1). Tried to think alot about it, and I know there is a trick but just couldn't find it, I have spent hours on this. There was another task which is to find the maximum gap, which is easy, it is the difference between the minimal and maximal number.

• EC2 instance suddenly refusing SSH connections and won't respond to ping

  My instance was running fine and this morning I was able to access a Ruby on Rails app hosted on it. An hour later I suddenly wasn't able to access my site, my SSH connection attempts were refused and the server wasn't even responding to ping. I didn't change anything on my system during that hour and reboots aren't fixing it. I've never had any problems connecting or pinging the system before. Can someone please help? • fetching a url using $.getJSON and parsing it correctly

  This is probably really stupid but i can't find the problem with my code. It fetches a url that returns json and the function is then supposed to return a string: function getit() { var ws_url = 'example.com/test.js'; var user = false; $.getJSON(ws_url, function(data) { alert('user '+data.user);//shows john user = data.user || false; } ); return user;//should return john but returns false } test.js will have something like this: {"id":"12","username":"ses","user":"john","error":""} or like this: {"error":"123"} I also tried if(data.user){}else{} but it didn't work either.. • Makecert problem under Windows 7

  I'm creating a certificate to use with an SslStream, and I've been doing it this way under XP: makecert -r -pe -n "CN=aName" -ss my -sr localmachine -sky exchange -sp "Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider" -sy 12 server.cer If I understand this correctly, this creates a certificate in server.cer, and creates a private key for it in my personal certificate store. Once I have done this, I can create a certificate object like this: X509Certificate.CreateFromCertFile(certFile); I then use it with the SSLStream, and everything works fine. Now that I have switched to Windows 7, the private key seems to be disappearing every time I restart the machine. I run a command prompt as Administrator, and execute the same makecert command shown above. This succeeds and the SSL connection works correctly. If I restart the machine, the call to AuthenticateAsServer fails with the exception "The server mode SSL must use a certificate with the associated private key." Why is the private key disappearing? What do I need to do to make it stick around?

  I am running the following command on unix box. java -Xms3800m -Xmx3800m org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -out Cust.txt -in test13l.xml -xsl CustDetails.xsl It is a java command, which calls Xalan processor to parse through the xml file (test131.xml) using the xsl stylesheet (CustDetails.xsl) and returns Cust.txt. The command works fine and the output is generated. It takes 12 minutes to process an xml file size of 1.1 GB. It takes 22 minutes to process a file size of 1.44 GB. However, when I try to process a file size of 1.66 GB, it errors out with the following message: (Location of error unknown)XSLT Error (java.lang.OutOfMemoryError): null I have increased the java heap size to 3800 not sure what I can do more.   If i do this: GetOptions( 'u=s' => \$in_username, 'r=i' => \$in_readonly, 'b=i' => \$in_backup ); exit usage() unless $in_username && $in_readonly && $in_backup; and call the program like this: ./app.pl -u david -r 12 -b 0 it always results in calling usage(), so obviously the 0 is not seen as an integer value. What can i do accept integer values AND 0?

  I know that this has been asked and answered before, but for the life of me I cannot find where I am going wrong. More often than not I get a call to a non-object error indicating that $getOpt is not a proper Mysql query. I have tried every fashion of quoting, bracketing, etc for the $backaa variable but it's just not working for me. What obvious thing am I missing?

• Discrete and Continuous Classifier on Sparse Data

  I'm trying to classify an example, which contains discrete and continuous features. Also, the example represents sparse data, so even though the system may have been trained on 100 features, the example may only have 12. What would be the best classifier algorithm to use to accomplish this? I've been looking at Bayes, Maxent, Decision Tree, and KNN, but I'm not sure any fit the bill exactly. The biggest sticking point I've found is that most implementations don't support sparse data sets and both discrete and continuous features. Can anyone recommend an algorithm and implementation (preferably in Python) that fits these criteria? Libraries I've looked at so far include: Orange (Mostly academic. Implementations not terribly efficient or practical.) NLTK (Also academic, although has a good Maxent implementation, but doesn't handle continuous features.) Weka (Still researching this. Seems to support a broad range of algorithms, but has poor documentation, so it's unclear what each implementation supports.)

• lmerTest package install failing on Ubuntu 12.04

  I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS precise 32-bit and trying to install the lmerTest package for R version 2.14.1... When I try to install from the CRAN repository or R-forge: install.packages("lmerTest") or install.packages("lmerTest", repos="http://R-Forge.R-project.org"), I get the error: Warning in install.packages : package ‘lmerTest’ is not available (for R version 2.14.1) So I downloaded the Package Archive File from CRAN and tried to install from this Package source: lmerTest_2.0-11.tar.gz ,but get the error: "installation of package /home/.../lmerTest_2.0-11.tar.gz’ had non-zero exit status" I had a similar problem when trying to install lme4, and using the advice from lme4 package install failing on Ubuntu 12.04 was able to download the package using "sudo apt-get install r-cran-lme4" after which it appeared in my R package list and installed fine from there. I tried a similar tactic with lmerTest "sudo apt-get install r-cran-lmerTest" but just get "Unable to locate package r-cran-lmerTest", so really don't know what to do now, bearing in mind that I'm a novice with both Ubuntu and R, any suggestions/help would be much appreciated

  Hi. I am trying to make a loop that loops through all different integers where exactly 10 of the last 40 bits are set high, the rest set low. The reason is that I have a map with 40 different values, and I want to sum all different ways ten of these values can be multiplied. (This is just out of curiosity, so it's really the "bitmanip"-loop that is of interest, not the sum as such.) If I were to do this with e.g. 2 out of 4 bits, it would be easy to set all manually, 0011 = 7, 0101 = 5, 1001 = 9, 0110 = 6, 1010 = 10, 1100 = 12, but with 10 out of 40 I can't seem to find a method to generate these effectively. I tried, starting with 1023 ( = 1111111111 in binary), finding a good way to manipulate this, but with no success. I've been trying to do this in C++, but it's really the general method(if any) that is of interest. I did some googling, but with little success, if anyone has a good link, that would of course be appreciated too. :)

  Hi, I have a time series based mining model in SQL 2005 Analysis Serveries. I understand in 2008 you can do what if analysis by using EXTEND_MODEL_CASES with a Natural Prediction Join. I'm looking for a workaround or some method of doing the same thing but with 2005. My time series has 3 inputs, and one predict_only. I'd like to use the prediction function to see what types of prediction it makes for 6-12 time intervals in the future with inputs in a separate table. Is there any way to do this or something similar? Thanks
