  I'm trying to send an image file through a TCP socket in C, but the image isn't being reassembled correctly on the server side. I was wondering if anyone can point out the mistake? I know that the server is receiving the correct file size and it constructs a file of that size, but it isn't an image file.   Hi I have a grouped table with two sections where I display text with different length and therefore cell height. I have solved the problem with the different length/height with constrainedToSize in cellForRowAtIndexPath. Now I want to add a section with one single row in which I want to show a picture. How should I best implement that? (still a bit of a beginner with the Objective C) I would guess that I would have to create an UIImageView and somehow link that to the cell, but my biggest concern is how do I do with the dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier now that I will have two different type of cells? Appreciate any advice that will help me save time from trial and error!

• Uploadify Not Working

  Hello, I'll re-edit this to tackle the uploadify issue. Its very strange, essentially the script isn't uploading and isn't triggering onAllComplete. Also if I try to upload an image that's to large, and click Upload files, it skips from 0 to 100%. But does not trigger onAllComplete. It does not upload either. Whats strange, is I have an earlier revision of this and the codes no different and it works, ive tried switched back to the same jquery/uploadify/layout and it still doesnt work. However due to the nature of uploadify not being very forthcoming about errors or whats going on, I can't figure out where its going wrong! • Is it possible to update from Windows 8 Enterprise to version 8.1 without having to reinstall the OS?

  Today we are told that the 8.1 update, (a version which allows you to keep apps, settings, and files), is officially being rolled out worldwide. No longer will you have to do a clean OS install, to go from 8 to 8.1. But I don't see the update inside my (Enterprise's) desktop 'Windows Update' program, and furthermore, Microsoft themselves say: If you’re running [Enterprise], you can't install the free update to Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1 from the Store. However they DO also say: If you installed Windows 8 using an MSDN ISO, you might be able to install Windows 8.1 using a similar ISO from MSDN But it does not specify whether this method allows seamless apps and settings-retaining upgrading or not. Is there a method for doing it (whether official or unofficial - perhaps confirmed via experience of updating with some sort of Enterprise 8.1 ISO), or is an update indeed expected for the Enterprise version via the desktop 'Windows Update' program? A further observation which may help: the page I cite refers to the 'Windows Store', which is the 'Modern UI' app store and NOT the desktop 'Windows Update' program which typically updates desktop Office and desktop Windows alike.

• Error when trying to deploy Windows XP SP3 with WDS

  I have created a WDS server running Windows Server 2008 R2. I have built my custom images of Windows 7 using WAIK and MDT 2010 that are installed on the server. I used this guide to help me through the process. The Windows 7 images that I have created capture and deploy properly. I am attempting to follow the same steps from the guide I linked to capture and deploy a Windows XP SP3 image. I am able to sysprep and capture the reference machine with no errors. I am then able to import the custom .wim that I just captured in to MDT 2010 with no issues either. However when I try to deploy this image to a test virtual machine I get the following error: Deployment Error: I have made sure that the .iso that I am importing the source files from originally to create the sysprep and capture sequence is indeed a Windows XP SP3 iso. When I first select a PE boot environment before I deploy I select the x86 PE boot image that I created originally when making this for my Windows 7 deployments. Could this be the issue? If so how do I make a boot image specific for Windows XP SP3 deployments? I have Googled around for this error and some places point to the deployment image not being able to find setup.exe and other important system files for installing the operating system. If so, how do I add these to the image? Any ideas?

  I would like to create a windows xp guest from the windows xp upgrade cd I have, along with one of a few full versions I have around. However, when I reach the stage in the installer where I am prompted to insert a full version cd, the installer can't find it, i.e.: Setup could not read the CD you inserted, or the CD is not a valid Windows CD.. Is there a work-around for this?, my Googling didn't uncover anything. If I specify parameter ks=hd:<device>:/ks.cfg my iso will boot only from usb-drive. Can I specify ks parameter to boot from both type of installation media?

  I purchased Windows 8 online from Microsoft a while ago. Today Windows 8.1 was released as a free update to Windows 8 users over the Windows Store. I was planning to do a fresh install of Windows 8.1 to have a clean system again and UEFI support because I got new hardware since the Windows 8 installation. So my questions are: Where do I get the ISO installation medium for Windows 8.1 64-bit? I tried this microsoft site where I initially got my Windows 8 ISO from, but when entering my Windows 8 key in the Windows 8.1 installer, it says the key is wrong. Even if I get the ISO, will my old key work? I'm concerned because it didn't work in their installer (see previous point) Do they seriously want me to reinstall Windows 8 and after that upgrade to Windows 8.1 through their Store?!

• How to determine why a burned DVD won't boot?

  So I have an interesting problem where a burned DVD of "debian-7.2.0-ia64-CD-1.iso" won't boot. The DVD is a DVD+RW. I have tried erasing, burning, and booting from "debian-live-7.0.0-i386-gnome-desktop+nonfree.iso" and that works fine, but I would rather install debian 7.2 with the x86-64 architecture. After burning "debian-7.2.0-ia64-CD-1.sio", I can mount the CD as well and it appears that all the files show up correctly. I was just wondering if there is any sort of boot sector I can try inspecting on the ISO to see if perhaps it is incorrect. Thanks!

• Sharing external storage between different operating systems?

  I just received a Lacie 1TB external usb/firewire/esata drive. I have 2 machines. A macbook running osx 10.6 and a desktop running windows 7. I would like to rip my dvd collection to iso and store on my external. Right now I use my macbook's disk utility to rip dvds to iso. However my desktop is what is connected to my hdtv. I mainly just use the desktop for media. I'd like to format the external with a 200 GB partition for time machine backups and have the rest for storage. DVD iso are often above 8GB so that sort of eliminates FAT file systems correct? Do I have any options to be able to have my mac and pc both see the drive?

However, when logging in using IE7 or Chrome the browers invoke a file download, i.e. the File Download dialog is displayed. • Strange activity in My Pictures folder: Thumbnail doesn't match actual picture.

  After finding an amusing picture on a popular imageboard, I decided to save it. A few days past and I was browsing my images folder when I realised that the thumbnail generated by Windows XP in the thumbnails view did not match the actual image. Here is a comparison image: What's even stranger in this situation is that the parts of the photograph that are different have actually been replaced with what might be the correct background. Furthermore, it is a jpeg (no PNG transparency tricks) that is 343 kilobytes but only 847x847 pixels wide. What could be going on here? Could there be anything malicious in the works, or hidden data? Before anyone asks, I have checked and preformed the following: Deleted Thumbs.db to reload thumbnails. Opened image in different editors. (they appear with the text) Moved image to a different directory. Changed the extension to .rar. All these steps produce the same results. Pre actual posting update: It seems that opening the image in paint, changing the image entirely (deleting entire contents and making a red fill) will still generate the original thumbnail, even after deleting Thumbs.db etc. I'm also hesitant to post the original data, in case there is something malicious or hidden that could be potentially illegal. (Although it would be very beneficial to see if it works on other computers and not just my own).

  Im using jigdo-lite to download a Debian DVD ISO. I already have the CD version of the image, so I added the CD files to the task. Now I need to download many files (not all) of the DVD ISO. The default jigdo-lite uses wget to download files. It seems jigdo (wget) downloads only one file at a time with one connection. So I'm getting a low download speed. How can I accelerate the download speed using jigdo? Possible Solutions: Using different download manager with jigdo. Is it possible? If yes, How? Using jigdo (wget) to download multiple files at once. How? Getting download links of remaining files to download so that they can be downloaded with a download manager and later added to jigdo iso. How?

• Requesting better explanation for expires headers

  I have successfully implemented expires headers however, for several days I have been stumped by one thing. This article: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/how-to-add-far-future-expires-headers-to-your-wordpress-site-1533 states Keep in mind that when you use expires header the files are cached in the browser until it expires so do not use this on files that changes frequently. Other sites indicate the same in my reading. But this doesn't seem to be true. I have updated an image, using the same name, several times. Each time I update and refresh my browser, the new image (with the same name) displays. I understand from this article that the old image should display unless I use a new name. Do you happen to know where the misunderstanding is?   SNMP ifInOctets = 2145342796 - about 2GB. ifconfig: RX bytes:174302710687 (174.3 GB) Interestingly, the sent bytes agree almost perfectly: ifOutOctets: 1002415050 - about 1GB ifconfig: TX bytes:1002418728 (1.0 GB) It's not an SNMP discontinuity: snmpwalk -v2c -c public localhost 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.19 iso.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.19.1 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00 iso.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.19.2 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00 iso.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.19.3 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00 Anyone have an idea for this discontinuity in the sent data numbers? • A "region code" restriction for a custom created video dvd file

  I want to create a video dvd ( no menus, just "plug and play" ) from a few video files. I`m doing it like this: ffmpeg -i sample-media/hellboy-2.wmv -y -target ntsc-dvd sample-media-to-mpeg/hellboy-2.vob dvdauthor -o sample-dvd -x dvdauthor-settings.xml mkisofs -dvd-video -o hellboy-2-trailers.iso sample-dvd/ where "dvdauthor-settings.xml" is: link. But when I try to play the iso file in windows it says: Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region. When I open the *.IFO file with IfoEdit it says that all world regions are unabled. Can someone tell me why is this happening? ( maybe the whole process of creating the *.iso file is wrong? )

• Minimal Fedora Installation

  I am working on a Fedora 13 minimal iso image with no Desktop environment. I just need wxPython support. I removed the gnome from kickstart and build the iso image using livecd-creator. But now my application is not loading as gnome is gone. Earlier my application(myapp.desktop) was placed in /usr/share/gnome/autostart/ and starts automatically. So what should i do now the run my application? To run my wxPython appalication should i have to install display manager(xdm, gdm, kdm etc..)? If i install gdm, it takes lots of space. what should i do? In short i need Fedora 13 minimal iso image with no desktop environment and with wxPython support.
