  In windows XP, you can add a shortcut to the start menu or desktop for all users by copying/moving the shortcut to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users[Desktop|Start Menu] I know same is the case in Windows 7 with a slightly different path (C:\Users\Public). However I'm still trying to find out how to add a 'shortcut' for all users. There is no C:\Users\Public\Taskbar. Any ideas? Or is it just not available as a feature?

• What is a good encryptable disk image format suitable for rsync on a PC?

  I’m looking for a solution to encrypt my XP home directory and then rsync the encrypted image file to a remote server. Since I don’t want to transfer several Gigs for even the smallest change in the image I’m looking for a solution which saves the image “chunked” into smaller files. That way Rsync can transfer only the changed elements. Do you have any ideas? Thanks a lot for your help!

  I'm looking for a mouse gestures program for Windows (including XP). I've seen gMote and StrokeIt, both pretty good, but they're both missing one thing: support for Rocker Gestures. If you don't know it, a Rocker gesture is just holding your right mouse button, then clicking your left (and vice versa). StrokeIt, at least, supports Rocker gestures in one direction, but not the other. Anybody know of a good program that has support for Rocker gestures? Thanks

  Whilst creating a site mirror using wget 1.12 on Ubuntu links with a rel attribute set are not downloaded: <a href="link" rel="tag">text</a> Rel="tag" is a microformat (By adding rel="tag" to a hyperlink, a page indicates that the destination of that hyperlink is an author-designated "tag" (or keyword/subject) for the current page). My WordPress theme uses this for link to tags, so 99% of the site is ignored. Edit: it turns out all my permalinks use rel="bookmark" and are skipped as well. • Tomcat app doesn't work with Fingerprint Reader in Windows 7

  I've got a tomcat webapp that uses a fingerprint reader. It works fine under Windows XP and Windows 7 if you double click on tomcat.exe. It doesn't work on Windows 7 if you run tomcat as a service. I imagine that when run as a service the process doesn't have the required permissions to talk to the device. I've tried running it as an administrator and verified that it's doing so with Process Explorer. What else should I check?
