    I installed 2.7 with yum. But i didn't used enable shared option so i am not to run mod_wsgi with djnago. Now i want to recompile with enable shared option.     I installed the apache dev headers: sudo apt-get install apache2-prefork-dev Downloaded and compiled the module as outlined here: http://tn123.ath.cx/mod_xsendfile/ Added the following line to /etc/apache2/mods-available/xsendfile.load: LoadModule xsendfile_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_xsendfile.so Added this to my VirtualHost: <VirtualHost *:80> XSendFile on XSendFilePath /path/to/protected/files/ Enabled the module by doing: sudo a2enmod xsendfile Then I restarted Apache. Then this code still just provides me with an empty file with 0 bytes: file_path = '/path/to/protected/files/some_file.zip' file_name = 'some_file.zip' response = HttpResponse('', mimetype='application/zip') response['Content-Disposition'] = 'attachment; filename=%s' % smart_str(file_name) response['X-Sendfile'] = smart_str(file_path) return response And there is not in the Apache error log that pertains to XSendFile. What am I doing wrong?

  • Making Python scripts more user friendly?

    I have a bunch of python scripts I've put together that cut down on busy work, but I'd like to be able to share them in an easier-to-use format for others to be used internally. The scripts aren't accessing anything local, just open API's across a couple web apps. Ideally: a) Users wouldn't have to have a python compiler installed b) They can be using Windows when running it. c) It's simple enough they can just click something, and it will work. I've tried some of the Windows Python executable compilers, but none have really worked well and I was considering just uploading it to a webserver and putting up some basic password access protection around it Any suggestions for sharing scripts?

    Hi, I've been looking and trying around all night, but without success. I configured nginx to serve my static files and proxy all the other traffic: server { listen 80; server_name mydomain.com; access_log /home/boudewijn/www/bbt/brouwers/logs/access.log; error_log /home/boudewijn/www/bbt/brouwers/logs/error.log; location / { proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8080; include /etc/nginx/proxy.conf; } location /media/ { root /home/boudewijn/www/bbt/brouwers/; } } The proxy passing is no problem, but when I go to mydomain.com/media/ or try to access any testfile over there, it's without success. I paid attention to the difference between root and alias, my media folder exists, I paid attention to the trailing slashes, but still I get a 404 when trying to access my static media files. Any help?

    The following is what appears in my error_log: [Sat Nov 17 23:13:14 2012] [warn] mod_wsgi: Compiled for Python/2.7.3. [Sat Nov 17 23:13:14 2012] [warn] mod_wsgi: Runtime using Python/2.7.2. If I check my $PATH variable and even in /etc/paths, /usr/local/bin (which contains Python 2.7.3) comes before /usr/bin (which contains Python 2.7.2). Is there some other path that I'm missing out on? How can I get the correct runtime to be used?

    i am running Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS and it came pre-packed with python2.6 but i need to replace it with python2.7.2. (The reason is simple, 2.7 has a lot of features backported from 3 ) i had installed python2.7.2 using ./configure make make altinstall the altinstall option installed it, without touching the system default version, to /usr/local/lib/python2.7 and placed the interpreter in /usr/local/bin/python2.7 Then to help mod_wsgi find python2.7 i added the following to /etc/apache2/sites-available/wsgisite WSGIPythonHome /usr/local i start apache and run a test wsgi app BUT i am greeted by python 2.6.5 and not Python2.7 Later i replaced the default python simlink to point to python 2.7 ln -f /usr/local/bin/python2.7 /usr/bin/python Now typing 'python' on the console opens python2.7 but somehow mod_wsgi still picks up python2.6 Next i tried, PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH export PATH then do a quick restart apache, but yet again its python2.6 !!     Hello, I am using this pagination class and was looking for a way to make the sql query more dynamic instead of having it hardcoded. I have a 3 <li> elements that I want to be filter buttons, meaning when a user clicks on one of these elements I want It to send the id so I can use it in a sql query. So for the $sql = "select * from explore where category='marketing'"; (as seen below). When the user clicks on the 'automotive' button it will change the category above to automotive.   • Why won't C# accept a (seemingly) perfectly good Sql Server CE Query?

    By perfectly good sql query, I mean to say that, inside WebMatrix, if I execute the following query, it works to perfection: SELECT page AS location, (len(page) - len(replace(UPPER(page), UPPER('o'), ''))) / len('o') AS occurences, 'pageSettings' AS tableName FROM PageSettings WHERE page LIKE '%o%' UNION SELECT pageTitle AS location, (len(pageTitle) - len(replace(UPPER(pageTitle), UPPER('o'), ''))) / len('o') AS occurences, 'ExternalSecondaryPages' AS tableName FROM ExternalSecondaryPages WHERE pageTitle LIKE '%o%' UNION SELECT eventTitle AS location, (len(eventTitle) - len(replace(UPPER(eventTitle), UPPER('o'), ''))) / len('o') AS occurences, 'MainStreetEvents' AS tableName FROM MainStreetEvents WHERE eventTitle LIKE '%o%' Here i am using 'o' as a static search string to search upon. No problem, but not exeactly very dynamic. Now, when I write this query as a string in C# and as I think it should be (and even as I have done before) I get a server-side error indicating that the string was not in the correct format. Logically, I would assume that I have erred somewhere with the syntax involved in parameterizing this query, however, my double and triple checking (as well as, my past experience at doing this) insists that everything looks fine here. Have I messed up the syntax involved with parameterizing this query, or is something else at play here that I am overlooking? I know I can tell you, for sure, as it has been previously tested, that the value I am getting from the query string is, indeed, what I would expect it to be, but as there really isn't much else on the .cshtml page yet, that is about all I can tell you.

  • Query.fetch(limit=2000) only moves cursor forward by 1000 entities?

    Let's say I have 2500 MyModel entities in my datastore, and I run this code: query = MyModel.all() first_batch = query.fetch(2000) len(first_batch) # 2000 next_query = MyModel.all().with_cursor(query.cursor()) next_batch = next_query.fetch(2000) What do you think len(next_batch) is? 500, right? Nope - it's 1500. Apparently the query cursor never moves forward by more than 1000, even when the query itself returns more than 1000 entities. Should I do something different or is it just an App Engine bug?

    How to do either a HQL or a Criteria search (the latter is preferred) involving an enum that is used as flags. In other words, I have a persisted enum property that stores some kind of flags. I want to query all the records that have one of these flags set. Using Eq won't work of course because that will only be true, if that is the only flag set. Solving this using the Criteria API would be the best, but if this is only doable using HQL that is good too.

  • Strange error occurring when using wcf to run query against sql server

    Hi all, I am building an asp.net application, using II6 on windows server 2003 (vps hosting). I am confronted with an error I didn't receive on my development machine (windows 7, iis 7.5, 64 bit). When my wcf service tries launching my query running against a local sql server this is the error I receive: Memory gates checking failed because the free memory (43732992 bytes) is less than 5% of total memory. As a result, the service will not be available for incoming requests. To resolve this, either reduce the load on the machine or adjust the value of minFreeMemoryPercentageToActivateService on the serviceHostingEnvironment config element. and ideas??

  • MySQL query performance - 100Mb ethernet vs 1Gb ethernet

    Hi All I've just started a new job and noticed that the analysts computers are connected to the network at 100Mbps. The queries we run against the MySQL server can easily be 500MB+ and it seems at times when the servers are under high load the DBAs kill low priority jobs as they are taking too long to run. My question is this... How much of this server time is spent executing the request, and how much time is spent returning the data to the client? Could the query speeds be improved by upgrading the network connections to 1Gbps? Thanks Rob
