  Hello, How can I give the input field below the characteristics listed below? Characteristics: -Text typed into the field starts in the upper left corner and starts on another line (wraps?) when the right border of the field is reached. -A scroll bar appears if the text is more than what can fit into the field. -The text is in Courier font. • php claims my defined variable is undefined

  My php is a little rusty but this is boggling my mind right now. I googled this and read all the stackoverflow questions I could find that looked related, but those all seemed to have legitimate undefined variables in them. That leads me to believe that mine is the same problem, but no amount of staring at the simple bit of code I have reduced this to seems to get me anywhere. • click() not behaving like user click

  I have searched for a solution to this for the last several hours but to no avail. When I click on a button that has a return false in OnClientClick, no postback occurs to the server. When I use jquery to trigger the click function of the button, OnClientClick fires first, but regardless of the return value, a postback occurs. Here's a simple sample... <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:Button ID="Button2" OnClientClick="$('#Button1').click();" runat="server" Text="Trigger" /><br /> <asp:Button ID="Button1" OnClick="Button1_Click" OnClientClick="return false;" runat="server" Text="Button" /> </div> </form> So, in this example, when Button1 is clicked normally, no postback occurs. When Button2 is clicked, a postback always occurs. Is this a bug or intended behavior?

  Searching for a simple first-child detection via javascript (no framework). It should add some class for the first child of the element. Like a css-hacks for ie, but in javascript and for a html file. • javascript function won't stop looping - It's on a netsuite website

  I need to change the shipping carrier drop-down and shipping method radio button once via a javascript function, not forever. I don't want the URL to show the action name and parameter. I simply want to show "Summary" which is what I have hard coded in the URL. How do I achieve this?

• drupal_add_css not working

  Hiya, I need to use drupal_add_css to call stylesheets onto single D6 pages. I don't want to edit the main theme stylesheet as there will be a set of individual pages which all need completely new styles - the main sheet would be massive if i put it all in there. My solution was to edit the page in PHP editor mode and do this: <?php drupal_add_css("/styles/file1.css", "theme"); ?> <div id="newPageContent">stuff here in html</div> But when i view source, there is nothing there! Not even a broken css link or anything, it's just refusing to add the css sheet to the css package put into the page head.   I need some help getting some rich snippets to my site I inserted the review microdata following the instructions given on schema.org here http://schema.org/docs/gs.html#advanced_missing using the star-image for rating and the text for review count, but testing it with the test tool it showed nothing. Of course, the next version of Whitespace (0.4) may have its instructions revised even more, but this is just a redesign of what originally was done in a very short amount of time. Hopefully, the instructions make more sense once someone new to programmings thinks about them.

  Hi Experts, (excuse me if this is not the right forum to post - i couldn't find anything related to non-native programming and related to this topic) I Am trying to set a dynamic HTML into an iFrame on the webpage. I have tried a couple of things but none of them seem to work. I m able to read the innerHTML but can't seem to update it. // Able to read using document.getElementById('iFrameIdentifier').innerHTML; // On Desktop IE, this code works document.getElementById('iFrameId').contentWindow.document.open(); document.getElementById('iFrameId').contentWindow.document.write(dynamicHTML); document.getElementById('iFrameId').contentWindow.document.close(); Ideally the same function should work as how it works for div's but it says 'Object doesn't support this method or property". I have also tried document.getElementById('iFrameId').document.body.innerHTML. This apparently replaces the whole HTML of the page and not just the innerHTML. I have tried out a couple of things and they didn't work document.getElementById('iFrameId').body.innerHTML document.frames[0].document.body.innerHTML My purpose is to have a container element which can contain dynamic HTML that's set to it. I've been using it well till now when I observed that the setting innerHTML on a div is taking increasing amount of time because of the onClicks or other JS methods that are attached to the anchors and images in the dynamic HTML. Appears the JS methods or the HTML is some how not getting cleaned up properly (memory leak?) In IE 7 a script error comes up and the browser just kind of hangs there for a bit then reloads the page. How should I be doing this?

  Hello, I am building a web application and because it has a layout. I don't want to have to create a seperate navigation bar for each page. • JQuery UI Autocomplete showing as bullets

  The JQuery UI Demo page for autocomplete (link) has a nice looking search box and drop down with nice colors and highlights and such. When I implement it for myself, I end up with a bulleted list. How do I get my drop down of suggestions to look like theirs? A few notes/code fragments: I'm working in .NET land, so I'm using the <asp:ScriptManager> tag with <asp:ScriptReference>s inside it to get the hosted jquery.min.js (1.4.2) and jquery-ui.min.js (1.8.1) files from Google. My input box is fairly simple: <div class='ui-widget'> <label for="terms">Term: </label> <input id="terms" class="ui-autocomplete-input"> </div> My autocomplete looks like: $(""#terms"").autocomplete({source:""GetAttributesJSON.aspx"",minLength:2}); I get the correct data back, so that's not the issue. I just want fancy graphics. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

• Designing a fluid Javascript interface to hide callback asynchrony

  How would I design an API to hide the asynchronous nature of AJAX and HTTP requests, or basically delay it to provide a fluid interface. I am guessing that a well designed API like this should work like a query builder (think ORMs) where each function call builds the query (HTTP URL in this case), until it hits a looping function such as each/map/etc., the HTTP call is made and the passed in function becomes the callback. An easy development route would be to make each AJAX call synchronous, but that's probably not the best solution. I am interested in figuring out a way to make it asynchronous, and still hide the asynchronous nature of AJAX.

• x-dom-event-stream in Opera 10 Only Working on First Event

  I have a python script (in the CherryPy framework) that sends Event: and data: text as this Opera blog post describes to a client browser. The javascript that recieves the x-dom-event-stream content is almost identical to what they show in the blog post. However, the browser displays only the first event sent. Anyone know what I'm missing? I tried a few older versions of Opera and found that it works in Opera 9.52 but not in any newer versions. What did they change? • How to enable commenting on the Facebook Like Button

  I'm integrating the Facebook Like Button into a site. The likeing functionality is working fine except that you cannot add comments to your like after you've clicked the like button. Several sites including CNN has this working so this should be possible. The docs mention that you need to use the JavaScript SDK to get commenting to work, which I am doing; however I cannot get commenting to show up. A fuller-featured Like button is available via the XFBML tag and requires you use the new JavaScript SDK. The XFBML version allows users to add a comment to their like as it is posted back to Facebook. I cannot find details on which options are available for this more "fully-featured" XFBML like button. I'm wondering if there is a setting that I need to add, an option that I'm not passing in, or anything that I've overlooked. I am on a dev server, and I'm linking back to the live site for now. Perhaps the ContactURL and the base URL of the liked page need to be the same in order to get commenting to work? • Drag-n-Drop on contentEditable elements

  There are numerous WYSIWYG editors available on the internet, but I'm yet to find one that implements some form of drag-n-drop implementation. It is easy to create one's own editor, but I want to the user to be able to drag elements (ie. tokens) from outside the editable area and have them drop it at a location of their choice inside the editable area. It is easy to inject html at a specific location of an editable element, but how do one determine where the caret should be when the user is dragging a DIV over some element in the editable area. To better illustrate what I'm trying to explain, see the following scenario. The editable area (either an IFRAME in edit mode or a DIV with its contentEditable attribute set to true) already contains the following text: "Dear , please take note of ...." The user now drags an element representing some token from a list of elements, over the editable area, moving the cursor over the text until the caret appear just before the comma (,) in the text as shown above. When the user releases the mouse button at that location, HTML will be injected which could result in something like this: "Dear {UserFirstName}, please take note of ...". I do not know if anyone has ever done anything similar to this, or at least know of how one would go about doing this using JavaScript. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

• Skipping one item in the column

  I created a simple news website. I store both videos and images in IMAGES table. Videos added have videos and images added have images stored in a column called ImagesType. Images and Videos attached to a news is stored in ImagesID column of the NEWS table. My problem occurs when I need to display the first image of a news. i.e. IMAGES table: ImagesID ImagesLgURL ImagesType 1 /FLPM/media/videos/0H7T9C0F.flv videos 2 /FLPM/media/images/8R5D7M8O.jpg images 3 /FLPM/media/images/0E7Q9Z0C.jpg images NEWS table NewsID ImagesID NewsTitle 1 1;2; Street Chic: Paris ERROR 2 3; Paris Runway NO ERROR The following code give me an error with the 2nd news item because the first ImageID stored in the list is not an image but a video. I need to figure out a way to skip the video item and display the next image. I hope I made sense. • Observing events on injected elements using prototype

Is there a way to fix this without having to apply a new event observer each time? Thanks.
