  • HTML, CSS: how can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ?

    hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set.   • Reading files with Java

    I would like to know how can I read a file byte by byte then perform some operation every n bytes. for example: Say I have a file of size = 50 bytes, I want to divide it into blocks each of n bytes. Then each block is sent to a function for some operations to be done on those bytes. The blocks are to be created during the read process and sent to the function when the block reaches n bytes so that I don`t use much memory for storing all blocks. I want the output of the function to be written/appended on a new file. This is what I've reached to read, yet I don't know it it is right: fc = new JFileChooser(); File f = fc.getSelectedFile(); FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(f); byte[] b = new byte[16]; in.read(b); I haven't done anything yet for the write process.

  • Powershell - remote folder availability while counting files

    I´m trying to make a Powershell script that reports if there´s a file older than x minutes on remote folder. I make this: $strfolder = 'folder1 ..................' $pocet = (Get-ChildItem \\server1\edi1\folder1\*.* ) | where-object {($_.LastWriteTime -lt (Get-Date).AddDays(-0).AddHours(-0).AddMinutes(-20))} | Measure-Object if($pocet.count -eq 0){Write-Host $strfolder "OK" -foreground Green} else {Write-Host $strfolder "ERROR" -foreground Red} But there´s one huge problem. The folder is often unavailable for me bacause of the high load and I found out when there is no connection it doesn´t report an error but continues with zero in $pocet.count. It means it reports everything is ok when the folder is unavailable. I was thinking about using if(Test-Path..) but what about it became unavailable just after passing Test-Path? Does anyone has a solution please? Thank you in advance

    Hi, I have a webservice, in which I read the settings saved in an xml file. I read the setting by the following command: string dpath = HttpContext.Current.Request.PhysicalApplicationPath.ToString(); XmlTextReader reader = new XmlTextReader(dpath + "Settings.xml"); This is working perfectly when running the application on the localhost, but when I publish the webserver I am getting an error, most probably because the settings are not being loaded. Am I using the right command to read the file ? thanks

    i am using the following code. the problem is that folder location path has to be entered by user. assuming i put that path in a variable say "h", how do i call this variable in xcopy. here is the code i tried. please tell the correct syntax. It must start in the file's containing directory (e.g. /cygdrive/c/scripts/) so that relative paths work. Anyone gotten this to work? Note: I've just found chere, a Cygwin package that manages Windows context menus (Bash Prompt Here). It might have some clues.

    I am developing blackberry application using BlackBerry JDE 5.0.X , in which i am using JSONOrg to parse json response now JSONOrg has few .java file which is using java.lang.Class from rt.jar file. so now the problem is BlackBerry JDE also has its version of java.lang.Class in net_rim_api.jar (which is a dependent jar file for BlackBerry) but i want to take a reference from rt.jar... so how can i differentiate a class which has a same name in two different .jar file ?   • How much ram to be able to convert large (5-6MB) jpegs? [closed]

    I've got a project where we want to be processing large jpegs (5-6MB) with apache and php (using GD library). My understanding is that the server converts the image into a BMP making it quite ram heavy and currently we're unable to do it with our 1gb of memory. Here's the error we get: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17408 bytes) How much ram should we be looking at running with to process images of this size? Edit: As Chris S the purist highlighted below, my post is apparently vague. I am doing the most basic and common manipulation of an image, say turning it from a 4352px x 3264px jpg of 5mb in size, to a 900px x 675px file.

  • Mac OS X: getting names of changed/written files

    I remember having a command line tool on an older Mac OS X version (Tiger?) that told me the name of every file that was written to (or read) by any process on the system. It used fseventd (? or something like that). Is there something like that for the newest Mac OS X (10.6)? It should be run in a terminal window and then I can use the system as normal. Let's say I type cat /etc/passwd, the output of that program would be similar to /bin/cat /etc/passwd I can't use lsof because I can't get the timing right. Is this clear or do you need more information?

    Hey All, Like always, just want to say thank you for all of the help and input in advance. I have a particular site that I am the web developer for and am running into a unique problem. It seems that somehow something is getting into every single PHP file on my site and adding some malware code. I have deleted the code from every page multiple times and changed FTP and DB passwords, but to no avail. The code that is added looks like this - eval(base64_decode(string)) - which the string is 3024 characters. Not sure if anyone else has ran into this problem or if any one has ideas on how I can secure my php code up. Thanks again.

    Essentially what I'm trying to do is sync a production server with a sandbox server, but only the table structures and stored procedures. The procedures aren't any problem since they can be overriden, but the problem is the tables. I want to sync and alter their structures on the production server using mysqldump (or any other way that you can propose) without altering any existing data. If it helps, I only want to add more columns, not remove any existing ones. Also, I am using mysqlyog. Is there any way to do this?

    I am using a .Jar file containing a .properties file in my CF code, however it seems unable to find the .properties file when run from CF. My CF code is simply: propTest = CreateObject("java","package.class"); testResults = propTest.main2(); Is there a special way to reference the .properties file so CF can access it, or do I need to include the file outside the .jar somewhere?

Unfortunately, since I work on e-commerce stuff (PHP), I normally force ssl in most of the checkout forms and it just fails on my laptop. Is there any easy configuration that I might be missing to allow "https" to run under MAMP?   • Reading and writing to files simultaneously?

    Moved the question here. Suppose, I want to store 1,000,000,000 integers and cannot use my memory. I would use a file(which can easily handle so much data ). How can I let it read and write and the same time. Using fstream file("file.txt', ios::out | ios::in ); doesn't create a file, in the first place. But supposing the file exists, I am unable to use to do reading and writing simultaneously. WHat I mean is this : Let the contents of the file be 111111 Then if I run : - #include <fstream> #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { fstream file("file.txt",ios:in|ios::out); char x; while( file>>x) { file<<'0'; } return 0; } Shouldn't the file's contents now be 101010 ? Read one character and then overwrite the next one with 0 ? Or incase the entire contents were read at once into some buffer, should there not be atleast one 0 in the file ? 1111110 ? But the contents remain unaltered. Please explain. Thank you.

    I dont have any experience for web services. please give me some suggestion about the task below. the task is: users will send a txt file (size should less than 20K ) from a .NET application, I need to write a web services which runs by jboss 5.x to read this file and edit this file and send the file back to .NET UI to display the edited version. question is that if the txt file is just test string or binary string, are there any restriction of the string length? if it's binary string, can I need to use BinaryReader class to read it? or not need special reader to read it? (this could be a dumn question :P) what if the .NET application can save the file on either the .NET application server or some shared server location, send a download URL to web serivces, can web services download it and read it? JBoss will be run on Linux sever. After edit the file, how do I send it back? Thanks for your help!
