  • How can chunks be allocated in a node.js stream in object mode all at once?

    I can see how buffers, and strings can be sent as chunks, but I'm having a problem thinking about how streams can be dealt when working in object mode. Say I have a byte stream from an http request message. I want to take that message, parse, and then transform it into one big object. I already know how to parse the message. What I'm wondering is if the message is big so it has many chunks, but I want to make one object for the output how can I make sure the data event waits for the whole thing? Is this just a matter of not using the push method until the chunked data has finished being sent? That would then restrict the stream data output to a smaller object which I think I'm fine with for now. As an added condition the larger data will be reduced in size after the the transform.

    Dear experts, I am trying to assign an function within an function object property without actually invoking then function itself. for instance, I have the following function object class definition function objectOne(name, value, id){ this.name=name; this.value=value; this.id=id; this.methodOne=methodFunction(this); } the last line this.methodOne=methodFunction(this); I want to pass the current object to the function but at the same time i don't want to execute the function right now. But if I do it this way without the bracket this.methodOne=methodFunction then the argument of this object would not be passed as a parameter to the function. Is there a way to work through this.     I have a list with two or more objects of class Agent. Name = "A" Priority = 0 ResultCount = 100 ; Name = "B" Priority = 1 ResultCount = 100 ; Both objects have the same ResultCount. In that case I only need one object and not two or more. I did this with a Linq Query with Distinct and an custom made Comparer. IEnumerable<Agent> distinctResultsAgents = (from agt in distinctUrlsAgents select agt).Distinct(comparerResultsCount); With this query I get only one object from the list but I never know which one. But I don't want just any object, I want object "B" because the Priority is higher then object "A". How can I do that?     Suppose that I have an object then how could I know if the object is derived from a specific generic class. For example: public class GenericClass<T> { } public bool IsDeriveFrom(object o) { return o.GetType().IsSubclassOf(typeof(GenericClass)); //will throw exception here } please notice that the code above will throw an exception. The type of the generic class cannot be retrieved directly because there is no type for a generic class without a type parameter provided.

  • How to declare and use the name of a function from a json object?

    Hello, I have a json object collection of geo locations that I build in the server. Each of those objects has two properties: "marker" and "onClick". Marker is for storing a Google Maps marker object and the onClick stores the name of the function to be called when that marker is clicked on the map. When I'm pushing the location objects into an array using javascript in the client side, I create the markers and assign them to each location object within the array. My problem is that when I bind the marker with the onClick property, the function won't be found in the DOM and get an error. Is there a way to declare a property in a json object for using it on an event binding? Hope I could explain it clearly, if not, please let me know. Thanks!

I have then converted the object to a TLB. I've not really touched on this area before so any help will be appreciated.   • absolute expiration cache object - can it be manually removed ?

    Hello, been pulling my hair out over this for the past few hours. i have a cache object.. HttpRuntime.Cache.Insert("Members", AllMembersList, null, DateTime.Now.AddHours(1), TimeSpan.Zero); when i try and clear the cache object.. HttpRuntime.Cache.Remove("Members"); its value doesnt change, untill 1 hour is up or when i reset the server. My question.. for a cache object that is set absolute expiration, can i manually clear it or will it exist for the full hour ? what i would like is this object to last for an hour but depending on program execution be able to clear it so it will contain fresh data. any help is most appreciated truegilly

  • When is a Transient-scope object Deactivated in Ninject?

    When an object in Ninject is bound with InTransientScope(), the object isn't placed into the cache, since it's, er, transient and not scoped to anything. When done with the object, I can call kernel.Release(obj); this passes through to the Cache where it retrieves the cached item and calls Pipeline.Deactivate using the cached entry. But since transient objects aren't cached, this doesn't happen. I haven't been able to figure out where (or who) performs the deactivation for transient objects. Or is the assumption that transient objects are only ever activated, and that if I want a deactivateable object, I need to use some other scope?

    I have problem that i just cant figure out right now. I am trying to develop a Windows-8 style app and im stuck implementing this functionality. I have a MainWindow which contains a ListBox and a Button (lets say addButton). When i click the button i navigate to a new page, lets say AddCustomerPage with this.Frame.Navigate(typeof (AddCustomerPage)); AddCustomerPage has 1 textBox and 1 button (lets say doneButton. When i click the button i want the string in the textBox to be added to the ListBox on the previous page. This is my current functionality: 1. MainWindow is created. Click addButton AddCustomer page is created. MainWindow is destroyed(problem). Click doneButton A MainWindow object is created with a ListBox with 1 item. Repeat the add process, i always get a MainWindow with a ListBox with 1 item. Thanks for the help.   • How to convert System.Object that's really an int32[] to a double[] ?

    Hello- I get data from a 3rd party API that just gives me back a System.Object, which I know to be a double[] under the covers. And to deal with that return type, I have found the code below to work wonderfully. However, I also get back some int[] arrays that are also masquerading as System.Object, specifically dates in the form YYYYMMDD (e.g. 20100310). The conversion to float fails, and it just says that the specified cast is not valid.   • Bancassurers Seek IT Solutions to Support Distribution Model

    Oracle Insurance's director of marketing for EMEA, John Sinclair, attended the third annual Bancassurance Forum in Vienna last month. He reports that the outlook for bancassurance in EMEA remains positive, despite changing market conditions that have led a number of bancassurers to re-examine their business models. Vienna is at the crossroads between mature Western European markets, where bancassurance is now an established best practice, and more recently tapped Eastern European markets that offer the greatest growth potential. Attendance at the Bancassurance Forum was good, with 87 bancassurance attendees, most in very senior positions in the industry. The conference provided the chance for a lively discussion among bancassurers looking to keep abreast of the latest trends in one of Europe's most successful distribution models for insurance. Even under normal business conditions, there is a great demand for best practice sharing within the industry as there is no standard formula for success.  Each company has to chart its own course and choose the strategies for sales, products development and the structure of ownership that make sense for their business, and as soon as they get it right bancassurers need to adapt the mix to keep up with ever changing regulations, completion and economic conditions.  To optimize the overall relationship between banking and insurance for mutual benefit, a balance needs to be struck between potentially conflicting interests. The banking side of the house is looking for greater wallet share from its customers and the ability to increase profitability by bundling insurance products with higher margins - especially in light of the recent economic crisis, where margins for traditional banking products are low and completion high. The insurance side of the house seeks access to new customers through a complementary distribution channel that is efficient and cost effective. To make the relationship work, it is important that both sides of the same house forge strategic and long term relationships - irrespective of whether the underlying business model is supported by a distribution agreement, cross-ownership or other forms of capital structure. However, this third annual conference was not held under normal business conditions. The conference took place in challenging, yet interesting times. ING's forced spinoff of its insurance operations under pressure by the EU Commission and the troubling losses suffered by Allianz as a result of the Dresdner bank sale were fresh in everyone's mind. One year after markets crashed, there is now enough hindsight to better understand the implications for bancassurance and best practices that are emerging to deal with them. The loan-driven business that has been crucial to bancassurance up till now evaporated during the crisis, leaving bancassurers grappling with how to change their overall strategy from a loan-driven to a more diversified model.  Attendees came to the conference to learn what strategies were working - not only to cope with the market shift, but to take advantage of it as markets pick up. Over the course of 14 customer case studies and numerous analyst presentations, topical issues ranging from getting the business model right to the impact on capital structuring of Solvency II were debated openly. Many speakers alluded to the need to specifically design insurance products with the banking distribution channel in mind, which brings with it specific requirements such as a high degree of standardization to achieve efficiency and reduce training costs. Moreover, products must be engineered to suit end consumers who consider banks a one-stop shop. The importance of IT to the successful implementation of bancassurance strategies was a theme that surfaced regularly throughout the conference.  The cross-selling opportunity - that will ultimately determine the success or failure of any bancassurance model - can only be fully realized through a flexible IT architecture that enables banking and insurance processes to be integrated and presented to front-line staff through a common interface. However, the reality is that most bancassurers have legacy IT systems, which constrain the businesses' ability to implement new strategies to maintaining competitiveness in turbulent times. My colleague Glenn Lottering, who chaired the conference, believes that the primary opportunities for bancassurers to extract value from their IT infrastructure investments lie in distribution management, risk management with the advent of Solvency II, and achieving operational excellence. "Oracle is ideally suited to meet the needs of bancassurance," Glenn noted, "supplying market-leading software for both banking and insurance. Oracle provides adaptive systems that let customers easily integrate hybrid business processes from both worlds while leveraging existing IT infrastructure." Overall, the consensus at the conference was that the outlook for bancassurance in EMEA remains positive, despite changing market conditions that have led a number of bancassurers to re-examine their business models.
