• Stored Procedure Does Not Fire Last Command

  On our SQL Server (Version 10.0.1600), I have a stored procedure that I wrote. It is not throwing any errors, and it is returning the correct values after making the insert in the database. However, the last command spSendEventNotificationEmail (which sends out email notifications) is not being run. I can run the spSendEventNotificationEmail script manually using the same data, and the notifications show up, so I know it works. Is there something wrong with how I call it in my stored procedure? • Missing parameter error after running MySql query

When trying to update a record, the update does happen but then throws an error saying "'id' parameter is missing at the statement".   I'm having a problem comparing strings in a Unit Test in C# 4.0 using Visual Studio 2010. This same test case works properly in Visual Studio 2008 (with C# 3.5). Here's the relevant code snippet: byte[] rawData = GetData(); string data = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(rawData); Assert.AreEqual("Constant", data, false, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); While debugging this test, the data string appears to the naked eye to contain exactly the same string as the literal. When I called data.ToCharArray(), I noticed that the first byte of the string data is the value 65279 which is the UTF-8 Byte Order Marker. What I don't understand is why Encoding.UTF8.GetString() keeps this byte around. How do I get Encoding.UTF8.GetString() to not put the Byte Order Marker in the resulting string?

  Hi all; I've multiply heard Ruby touted for its super spectacular meta-programming capabilities, and I was wondering if anyone could help me get started with this problem. I have a class that works as an "archive" of sorts, with internal methods that process and output data based on an input. However, the items in the archive in the class itself are represented and processed with integers, for performance purposes. The actual items outside of the archive are known by their string representation, which is simply number_representation.to_s(36). Because of this, I have hooked up each internal method with a "proxy method" that converts the input into the integer form that the archive recognizes, runs the internal method, and converts the output (either a single other item, or a collection of them) back into strings. The naming convention is this: internal methods are represented by _method_name; their corresponding proxy method is represented by method_name, with no leading underscore.   Hi all, I have a class Task(models.Model), and i didn't define id field explicitly (since it defines automatically for you). I checked in the database, it exists for the Task. Now i would like to display it in the list via list_display property in admin.ModelAdmin. I have a bunch of things in there, only id is not showing up for any of the rows i have.   I have a generic class that should allow any type, primitive or otherwise. The only problem with this is using default(T). When you call default on a value type or a string, it initializes it to a reasonable value (such as empty string). When you call default(T) on an object, it returns null. For various reasons we need to ensure that if it is not a primitive type, then we will have a default instance of the type, not null. Here is attempt 1: T createDefault() { if(typeof(T).IsValueType) { return default(T); } else { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } Problem - string is not a value type, but it does not have a parameterless constructor. So, the current solution is: T createDefault() { if(typeof(T).IsValueType || typeof(T).FullName == "System.String") { return default(T); } else { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } But this feels like a kludge. Is there a nicer way to handle the string case?

  Here goes: T1 [id] [desc] 1 lovely 2 ugly 3 slender T2 [id] [userid] [vote] 1 1 3 1 2 5 1 3 2 2 1 1 2 2 4 2 3 4 In one query (if possible) I'd like to return: T1.id, T1.desc, AVG(T2.vote), T2.vote (for user viewing the page) I can get the first 3 items with: SELECT T1.id, T1.desc, AVG(T2.vote) FROM T1 LEFT JOIN T2 ON T1.id=T2.id GROUP BY T1.id and I can get the first, second, and fourth items with: SELECT T1.id, T1.desc, T2.vote FROM T1 LEFT JOIN T2 ON T1.id=T2.id WHERE T2.userid='1' GROUP BY T1.id but I'm at a loss as to how to get all four items in one query. I tried inserting a select as the fourth term: SELECT T1.id, T1.desc, AVG(T2.vote), (SELECT T2.vote FROM T2 WHERE T2.userid='1') AS userVote etc etc but I get an error that the select returns more than one row... Help? My reason for wanting to do this in one query instead of two is that I want to be able to sort the data within MySQL rather than one it's been split into a number of arrays.

The primary key on this table is (Id, Type), so there's no question of duplication of Id,Type pairs. I can create the rows I want with this query: SELECT MyTable_A.Id AS Id, 'C' AS Type, (A_Val + B_Val) AS Value FROM (SELECT Id, Value AS A_Val FROM MyTable WHERE Type='A') AS MyTable_A JOIN (SELECT Id, Value AS B_Val FROM MyTable WHERE Type='B') AS MyTable_B ON MyTable_A.Id = MyTable_B.Id Giving: +----+------+-------+ | Id | Type | Value | +----+------+-------+ | 0 | C | 2 | | 1 | C | 5 | | 2 | C | 13 | +----+------+-------+ But the question is: How do I use this result to insert the generated type-C rows into MyTable?
