• Adding editFTPnetPRO to SSIS package causes error message

  I'm trying to add some secure FTP code to an SSIS package. I've used the EnterpriseDT product successfully on other .NET projects, so I wanted to incorporate it into an SSIS 2008 package I'm working on. If I create a Script Task (VB), edit the script, choose Project | Add Reference, and select the editFTPnetPRO.dll file, it comes back with this error: No template information found. See the application log in Event Viewer for more details. To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. The application log doesn't contain any pertinent details. I have no idea what this is trying to tell me. I've gone down a couple dead ends searching for this error message and following the prescribed fixes, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any idea what might be going wrong? P.S. - I tried the devenv.exe /installvstemplates fix, which didn't change anything. Update: Here is the error captured in the SSIS package when you try to run it: Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'edtFTPnetPRO, Version=6.3.1.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0dce1ad63760d80b' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where is it looking for this file? I tried copying it to the project direcory, the bin folder, and the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.nnnn folder, but it still can't find it, and it won't tell me where it's looking.

How do you set the session? I'm having problems finding any documentation on how to do this. • asp:repeater events - how to postback

  Hello I have an ASP:Repeater Which I would like to display a list of check boxes in. These check boxes are related to a list of user preferences and the users resulting answer. See Code Bellow. I would like to add do one of the following if possible Option 1: It would be great if I could use the Event in the Repeater:OnItemCommand(...) to fire if any of the items change. It would seem to me that this event will only fire if there is a Button | LinkButton | ImageButton item in the list. IE it will not fire if I put in a check box with AutopostBack="True" Option 2: Is there a way I could attach a method to an Event of CheckBox:CheckChanged I would need to pass this method a parameter saying which question/answer combo to change. Option 3: Its your answer if you know an easier way that would be awesome.   I must be missing something obvious here but ... UIControl has a method - (void)addTarget:(id)target action:(SEL)action forControlEvents: (UIControlEvents)controlEvents which lets you add an action to be called when any of the given controlEvents occur. ControlEvents are a bitmask of events which tell you if a touch went down, or up inside, or was dragged etc., there's about 16 of them, you or them together and get called when any of them occur. The selector can have one of the following signatures - (void)action - (void)action:(id)sender - (void)action:(id)sender forEvent:(UIEvent *) none of those tell you what the control event bitmask was. The UIEvent is something slightly different, it's related to the actual touch event and doesn't (I think) contain the UIControlEvent. The sender (UIControl) doesn't have a way to find the control events either. I'd like to have one method which deals with a number of control events as I have some common code regardless of which event or events happened but I still need to know what the UIControlEvents were for some specific processing. Am I missing a way to find out what UIControlEvents were used when the action was called or do I really have to separate my code into -(void)actionWithUIControlEventX; -(void)actionWithUIControlEventY;

• Practical non-Turing-complete languages?

  Nearly all programming languages used are Turing Complete, and while this affords the language to represent any computable algorithm, it also comes with its own set of problems. Seeing as all the algorithms I write are intended to halt, I would like to be able to represent them in a language that guarantees they will halt. Regular expressions used for matching strings and finite state machines are used when lexing, but I'm wondering if there's a more general, broadly language that's not Turing complete? edit: I should clarify, by 'general purpose' I don't necessarily want to be able to write all halting algorithms in the language (I don't think that such a language would exist) but I suspect that there are common threads in halting proofs that can be generalized to produce a language in which all algorithms are guaranteed to halt. There's also another way to tackle this problem - eliminate the need for theoretically infinite memory. Once you limit the amount of memory the machine is allowed, the number of states the machine is in is finite and countable, and therefore you can determine if the algorithm will halt (by not allowing the machine to move into a state it's been in before).

  Hi, I've been given an fla to make some changes too. Basically its a fairly long timeline animation with sound. So far I've successfully added a few button functions for sound etc.. but one has got me stumped. One of the buttons needs to load a child swf. I'm using the code below but I'm recieving an error - 'Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference'. • Troubleshooting ASP .NET Application on Shared Hosting

  Hi, My company has a CRM site hosted externally on a shared server and recently it has been very problematic. Users are being logged out randomly, sometimes only seconds after logging in. We are also getting viewstate validation errors at times. Both problems seem to occur more often when there are two or more people logged in at the same time, but I can't really see any particular pattern. I am using log4net to track the application state and from what I can tell it seems that the application is frequently restarting, causing all sorts of issues. I can see log messages from the Application_Start event handler but there is not always a corresponding message from the Application_End event handler. There is also logging code in the Application_Error event handler but it is not catching anything at the time of the restart. These errors started to occur soon after we moved our site to this shared server, although I don't remember it being this bad at first. Any advice on how to track down these problems would be appreciated. The server is running Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6.0. Sadly I don't have access to the server other than through Parallels Plesk and it doesn't seem to have any useful diagnostic information.

• Accessing an iFrame's dom from a Firefox Extension

  Hi all, I've spent a long time trying different things to get this to work but nothing does and documentation is not helping much. I'm trying to populate a form inside an iframe that I dynamically inject into a page. To inject that iframe I do: myObject.iframe = document.createElement("iframe"); myObject.iframe.setAttribute("src", data.url); myObject.iframe.setAttribute("id","extension-iframe"); myObject.window.document.getElementById('publisher').appendChild(myObject.iframe); myObject.iframe.addEventListener("load", function(){ myObject.populate(data); }, false); which works fine and DOES trigger the populate() method. My problem is getting the document or window objects for that iframe. I've tried all of the following: myObject.iframe.window myObject.iframe.document myObject.iframe.content but these are all undefined. I also tried passing the event object to that iframe's load event listener and then doing: event.originalTarget But that didn't work either. • Xlib mouse events and ButtonPressMask

  I have written a simple program which will report key press and release events for a particular window. In my case, it is mostly the terminal since I invoke the program from the terminal. I am able to get the key press and release events taking place in the terminal window (I have used XSelectInput() with KeyPressMask and KeyReleaseMask on the terminal) but the same is not working with ButtonPress and ButtonRelease. Not just these, but any events related to the mouse are not being reported. When the user choose open, outlook sometimes gives the error "The file [].ics" is not a valid internet Calender file"? It is always the same event that is written to the response. • Aggregating / Collecting AJAX requests

  I have situation where a user can manipulate a large set of data (presented in a table) by using a bunch of filters represented as checkboxes. The page is AJAXed up so the user doesn't have to wait for a full page refresh every time they click a filter. The way it's currently implemented is by having an event handler watch all the checkboxes and request filtered data from the server when a click event is triggered. This works fine. However, there is a usability & performance issue with doing it this way. For example, if a user clicks 6 checkboxes, 6 AJAX requests are triggered and they all come back at various intervals causing the page to be updated 6 times. This will most probably annoy the user and seems rather inefficient. I want to put some kind of timeout on the event handler to do something like this: "Wait for 1 second and if there are no more filters clicked trigger the AJAX request". However, at the moment I've only been able to delay all 6 requests by 1 second. I'm not sure how to aggregate / collect the filter info into 1 AJAX request. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

When that event gets fired, I would like to get the ItemsControl element that is the container for this TextBox. How do I get that ItemsControl from my event handler? Please note: Because the ItemsControl is in the DataTemplate of DataGrid, I don't believe I can just add an x:Name and reference it from my code-behind. Or is there a way to do that? Thank you!

  I've got a business app in C#, with unit tests. Can I increase the reliability and cut down on my testing time and expense by using NModel or Spec Explorer? Alternately, if I were to rewrite it in F# (or even Haskell), what kinds (if any) of reliability increase might I see? Code Contracts? ASML? I realize this is subjective, and possibly argumentative, so please back up your answers with data, if possible. :) Or maybe an worked example, such as Eric Evans Cargo Shipping System? If we consider Unit tests to be pecific and strong theorems, checked quasi-statically on particular “interesting instances” and Types to be general but weak theorems (usually checked statically), and contracts to be general and strong theorems, checked dynamically for particular instances that occur during regular program operation (from B. Pierce's Types Considered Harmful, where do these other tools fit? We could pose the analogous question for Java, using Java PathFinder, Scala, etc.

  Im new on Google Chrome Extensions coding, and i have some basic questions. I want to make a Chrome Extension, and the scheme is the following: -a popup window, containing buttons and result fields (popup.html) -when a button is clicked, i want to trigger an event, this event should connect to a webserver (i make the servlet too), and gather information from the server. (XMLHttpRequest()) -after that, i want my extension to load the gathered information into one of the result fields. Simple, isn't it? But i have several problems, right at the beginning:( I started developing with reading tutorials, but i have fog on the main structure of an extension. Now, i started an app, containing a popup.html, manifest.json ... In popup.html theres a result field, and a button <div id="extension_container"> <div id="header"> <p id="intro">Result here</p> <button type="button" id="button">Click Me!</button> </div> <!-- END header --> <div id="content"> </div> <!-- END content --> When button is clicked, i trigger an event, handeled with jquery, code here: <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#button").click(function(){ $("#intro").text("Hello, im added"); alert("Clicked"); }); }); </script> And here comes the problem, in popup.html this doesnt work, if i load it to Chrome, nothing happens. • Is it good practice to call module functions directly in VB.NET?

  I have a Util module in my VB.NET program that has project-wide methods such as logging and property parsing. The general practice where I work seems to be to call these methods directly without prefixing them with Util. When I was new to VB, it took me a while to figure out where these methods/functions were coming from. As I use my own Util methods now, I can't help thinking that it's a lot clearer and more understandable to add Util. before each method call (you know immediately that it's user-defined but not within the current class, and where to find it), and is hardly even longer. What's the general practice when calling procedures/functions of VB modules? Should we prefix them with the module name or not?

The downside is that this solution is more code and signal handlers are separated from model itself and unknowing reader can miss them altogether. So, colleagues, do you think it's worth it?

• How do I get Java to use my multi-core processor?

  I'm using a GZIPInputStream in my program, and I know that the performance would be helped if I could get Java running my program in parallel. In general, is there a command-line option for the standard VM to run on many cores? It's running on just one as it is. Thanks! Edit I'm running plain ol' Java SE 6 update 17 on Windows XP. Would putting the GZIPInputStream on a separate thread explicitly help? No! Do not put the GZIPInputStream on a separate thread! Do NOT multithread I/O! Edit 2 I suppose I/O is the bottleneck, as I'm reading and writing to the same disk... In general, though, is there a way to make GZIPInputStream faster?   Hi all! I'm a real noobie with flash and I was wondering if somebody could help me with this one. I have this actionsript 3 code, where the cursor image "ball_mc" follows the mouse's position with a slight delay: stage.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,followBall); function followBall(event:Event):void { var dx:int = ball_mc.x - mouseX; var dy:int = ball_mc.y - mouseY; ball_mc.x -= dx / 5; ball_mc.y -= dy /5; } 1) How can I get the cursor image automatically return to the center of the stage on mouseout? As of now, it stays at the position where the mouse leaves the stage. 2) How can I reverse the movement of the mouse? So that when I, for example, move mouse to the right, the cursor image would move to the left? And when moving the mouse up, the image would go down. The stage is 800 x 250 pixels, in case that makes any difference.
