However, a recent update to Chrome now throws the following error: Uncaught Error: INDEX_SIZE_ERR: DOM Exception 1 This code often positions part or all of the drawn image OFF the canvas, anyone got any idea what's going on here?

• simple document server built over Apache HTTP server

  Hi, I want to build a simple document server. The requirement for now is : provide a hierarchical directory structure for placing documents (like pdfs, doc files) that is accessible through a browser, and provide the facility to search for documents by name and then be able to download them from server. Right now, placing documents can be done manually (directly place the files into some designated directory). I can do the hierarchical structure part of the problem by adding some configs to Apache's httpd.conf file. Basically I create a root directory for documents and then give an alias to this directory in httpd.conf file. That way, I can browse the directory structure in my browser and also download files placed there. I can provide more detail on this if needed. However, it is the searching documents by name part that I am not able to get to a clear solution yet. I have a few ideas like integrating Lucene with Apache server, or maybe using CouchDb, but I am not very sure of all the details to solve this problem. Could anyone suggest some clear approach as to how to solve this part ?

• Getting a 404 when setting up MVC in IIS 6 and using .NET 4 beta 2

  Hi all, I've completed this set up on a fair few IIS 6 boxes, but one is giving me a tough time. The problem occurs when I add the application extension mapping to: c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v4.0.21006\aspnet_isapi.dll When this is in place, I get a 404 error on every request. Even if I remove all files from the application directory apart from a basic test.htm and navigate to that, I still get a 404. I've unchecked the "Verify that file exists" I've set up a .NET 4 application pool and pointed my application to that I've changed the ASP.NET version to 4.0.21006 I've checked the IIS log file, and there's nothing useful in there (it only shows the first bunch of requests after each reboot and then stops logging) I've checked the application event log and nothing gets reported I've installed MVC 2 I've copied the set up onto another box, just to be sure, following all the same steps - and it all works! What else can I look out for?? N.B: If I set .NET to v2 in IIS, then I can successfully navigate to \test.htm

Last friday we installed some windows updates. After the reboot tomcat doesnt start with error: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap We reduced the parameter -Xmx1024m to -Xmx768m and now tomcat starts. • DOMPDF generation error

  Hello, I have a big problem at my work. We had to make a page who displays a exercise for the users. But that page need also to be available as pdf. To do this we used DOMPDF. This worked perfectly on your development server but when we moved it to the production server dompdf generates pdf with errors. When i open the pdf i get the error from Adobe Reader: 110. The first server (development) was Debian. The production server runs CentOS 5. DOMPDF used PDFLib or CPDF, but both generate the same error. Does anybody know what kind of differents on the server i need to be aware of ?

• Exchange 2007 to 2010 public folder replication error 1129

  I currently upgrading from an Exchange server 2007 to 2010. I have moved all mailboxes and OAB. I am having issues replicating the public folders. This is the error I'm getting in the event log on the 2007 box: Error 1129 occurred while processing a replication event. Folder: (6-11ED8367F0C) IPM_SUBTREE\Marketing\Marketing I have looked online and everything about these errors seems to relate from an old 2003 server. Well, we never had a 2003 server. I'm really not sure what to do at this point. Any help?

  Installed Solr on my Windows XP PC. Tomcat seems to be working fine. Cannot get Solr to work. I noticed the TrieDateField is declared in a file called schema.xml in the SolrHome directory. Any thoughts? The Url http://localhost:8080/solr/ returns: HTTP Status 500 - Severe errors in solr configuration. Check your log files for more detailed information on what may be wrong. • An SVN error (200 OK) when checking out from my online repo

  I'm trying to setup my first repo on my host and am getting this error when I use Tortoise to checkout the project: Error: OPTIONS of 'http://mywebsite.com/svn/myproject': 200 OK (http://mywebsite.com) Here is what I did: 1) ssh into my host and head to /home/myaccnt and 'svnadmin create svn' 2) create my project repo: 'svn mkdir svn/myproject' 3) add files to the repo: cd /home/myaccnt/.../myproject (which has /tags, /branch, /trunk); 'svn import file:///home/myaccnt/svn/myproject' (the big ole list of files being added is seen at this point.) At this point I think that I've setup my repo and imported my project into the repo. So, I'm ready to checkout using TortoiseSVN on my Windows box. So: 4) In the folder I'd like to checkout to, I rightclick and 'SVN Checkout' and then make sure my URL is: http://mywebsite.com/svn/myproject Result? Error: OPTIONS of 'http://mywebsite.com/svn/myproject': 200 OK (http://mywebsite.com) Anyone have any thoughts for me? • Use HttpGet with illegal characters in the URL

  I am trying to use DefaultHttpClient and HttpGet to make a request to a web service. Unfortunately the web service URL contains illegal characters such as { (ex: domain.com/service/{username}). It's obvious that the web service naming isn't well written but I can't change it. When I do HttpGet(url), I get that I have an illegal character in the url (that is { and }). If I encode the URL before that, there is no error but the request goes to a different URL where there is nothing. The url, although has illegal characters, works from the browser but the HttpGet implementation doesn't let me use it. What should I do or use instead to avoid this problem?

  Hello again, I've run into a problem with an application I'm developing in C#/.NET. A problem I can't trace down because it causes my system to crash with a BSOD.   So I am getting the same issue as mentioned here - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1366746/gem-install-mysql-failure-in-snow-leopard But I haven't been able to get it fixed using the answers on this link. Here's a brief history - I had MAMP on my machine, but now I downloaded the latest MySQL from mysql.com and installed version 5.1.46 this new version runs fine and client "mysql" is able to connect and I also have XCode v3.2.1, since someone mentioned that it can cause issues. Here's the error - **Building native extensions. This could take a while... • Zend framework "invalid controller" error message

  When I load the homepage of a ZF site I get a message saying "Invalid controller specified (error)" where "error" seems to be the name of the controller. • "Error loading operating system": Win7/Vista

  Have this computer for about 2 years now. Originally had Vista installed, now have Windows 7 installed. Both on separate hard drives. Also have another drive used strictly for media. About a week ago, the Vista hard drive started going on its way out. Was getting problems on startup. After a few BIOS settings, I was able to get into Windows 7 and everything was fine. However, I started remembering the startup issues, so I deleted the bootup for Vista under msconfig. Didn't restart the computer at that time, though. For a few days, everything was ok. Last night I play a little poker, then hit the hay. I wake up to a good ole "Error loading operating system" on the screen. Just wonderful. Looks like the computer restarted overnight (auto updates, anyone?). So, after a big of finagling and half hearted tries, I can't get past the "Error loading operating system" screen. FWIW, in the BIOS it can see my hard drives fine. So I move on. I get my Windows 7 installation disk to try and do a repair. Go in the BIOS, change boot priority to DVD drive, and we're on our merry way. After loading from the disc, I first try jumping into the "Repair your computer" section. That opens up the System Recovery Options. However, this is where the problem comes into play. I don't see any operating systems here. Nada. What's odd though is if I click on the Load Drivers button, I can see my Windows 7 partition (C:), and can go through the files and folders without issue. What do I do at this point? I can't repair it. It seems like I can traverse the hard drive without issue when in an open dialog in the System Recovery Options, but I'm getting the good ole "Error loading computer" on bootup. Suggestions? Thanks all!!

Gem files will remain installed in C:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/yajl-ruby- 0.7.5 for inspection. Results logged to C:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/yajl-ruby-0.7.5/ext/gem_mak e.out I looked everywehere online, tried to install earlier versions, and attempted a manual install without success (it gave me a stack too deep error). I suspect there are problems with the yajl-ruby gem (http://github.com/brianmario/yajl-ruby), a dependency? (I think) The logs in gem_make.out show: C:/Ruby19/bin/ruby.exe extconf.rb creating Makefile make 'make' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. • Is there anyway to make a Rails / Rack application tell the web server to drop the connection

  There are many security reasons why one would want to drop an HTTP connection with no response (eg. OWASP's SSL best practices). When these can be detected at the server level then it's no big deal. However, what if you can only detect this condition at the application level? Does Rails, or more generally Rack, have any standard way of telling the server to drop the connection without a response? If not, are there some standard headers to pass in that will accomplish that in common web servers (I'm thinking Nginx or Apache)? Even if there is not a standard header is there a reasonable way to configure that behavior? Is this a fool's errand?

• Installing ImageMagick on Mac OSX 10.6

  I just got a new Mac and am trying to setup a local Perl development environment. I'm using MAMP but also need the ImageMagick perl module installed in order to do some of the photo processing our scripts require. I tried installing ImageMagick manually but ran into some issues and after reading online a lot of people reported having issues going this route. The general consensus was to install it using MacPorts instead so I went ahead and installed MacPorts. Unfortunately, MacPorts can't seem to install it successfully either. • PDF form submission

  I have a PDF form (made in Acrobat) that has button to submit via HTTP. What I want to do it have a PHP script that will take the PDF form and e-mail it to me via attachment. What I don't want: --PDF Submit via e-mail button. This requires webmail users to save the pdf and attach it, and is just too confusing for most users. I want one-click and done. --Submit via mailto:[email protected]. Does the same thing as above. If there's a pdf on the server, I know how to use PHP's mail() function to e-mail it to someone. What I don't know how to do is process the PDF once someone hits Submit within the PDF. Does that make sense? Thanks, Jeff

• Rails: periodically use HEAD to check for page changes

  I have a Rails app implementing a game, so it's expected that a player will leave a browser open at the game page. When player Alan takes an action himself, I use AJAX requests to update the game page Alan is viewing to reflect the new state. However, when another player (Bob) takes an action, I don't have (or want) a mechanism to push the change to Alan's view. I would like Alan's page to periodically poll the Rails server to find if there have been any changes since last reload, and to reload the page (either via a whole-page GET or an AJAX call) if not. In order to play nicely with caches and proxies, I'd like to do this by issuing a periodic HTTP HEAD request, get Rails to work out the timestamp of the last change (trivially available from my DB) and respond with that in the Last-Modified header; then have the client-side act on that timestamp. How can I go about doing this?

• Understanding this error: apr_socket_recv: Connection reset by peer (104)

  So, if I do some benchmarking with apache benchmark (ab), and I use large numbers of requests. Then sometimes in the middle of a test I get this error. I don't even know what it means. So how can I fix it? Or is it just something that will happen if the server gets too many hits anyway? The problem is, if I run 10,000 hits, it'll all run perfectly. If I run it again, it'll get to 4000 and get the error: apr_socket_recv: Connection reset by peer (104) A little about my setup: I have nginx taking static requests and processing dynamic ones to apache. The file in question is served from cache by nginx, so I guess it's probably got to do with how nginx is handling the requests? Ideas?
