  • Why would someone use WHERE 1=1 AND <conditions> in a SQL clause?

    - by Bogdan Maxim
    Why would someone use WHERE 1=1 AND <conditions> in a SQL clause (Either SQL obtained through concatenated strings, either view definition) I've seen somewhere that this would be used to protect against SQL Injection, but it seems very weird. If there is injection WHERE 1 = 1 AND injected OR 1=1 would have the same result as injected OR 1=1. Later edit: What about the usage in a view definition?

  • Is there a way to know when the index on uitableview is actually used?

    - by NoviceiPhoneProgrammer
    Is there a way to know when the index on uitableview is actually used? I can’t find any methods in the Apple documentation, but I was wondering if anyone else knows anything. I would basically like to make an animation in my table view that changes depending on what section is selected in the index, and I have no idea how to do this without accessing the table view index. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here is the code: First the table view: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. self.title = @"Movement";//Master View Controller title bar UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"jg_navibar.png"]; [self.navigationController.navigationBar setBackgroundImage:image forBarMetrics:UIBarMetricsDefault]; //Init the array with data bodypartsMutableArray = [NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity:26]; BodypartData *part1 = [[BodypartData alloc] init]; part1.bodypartname = @"Shoulder"; part1.movementname = @"Flexion"; part1.fullimageStartingPosition=[UIImage imageNamed:@"2_shoulder_flexion_end_position.jpg"]; part1.fullimageEndedPosition=[UIImage imageNamed:@"2_shoulder_flexion_end_position.jpg"]; part1.thumbimage=[UIImage imageNamed:@"1_shoulder_flexion_landmarks_thumb.jpg"]; [bodypartsMutableArray addObject:part1]; ......... } then the cell: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:@"MyBasicCell"]; BodypartData *part = [self.bodypartsMutableArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.textLabel.text =[NSString stringWithFormat:part.movementname]; cell.detailTextLabel.text =[NSString stringWithFormat:part.bodypartname]; cell.imageView.image =part.thumbimage; return cell; } and the the detailViewdid load: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. // Init motionManager object and set the Update Interval _motionManager = [[CMMotionManager alloc]init]; _motionManager.deviceMotionUpdateInterval=1/60; //60 Hz [_motionManager startGyroUpdates]; if (_motionManager.gyroAvailable) { _motionManager.gyroUpdateInterval = 1.0/60.0; [_motionManager startDeviceMotionUpdatesToQueue:[NSOperationQueue currentQueue] withHandler: ^(CMDeviceMotion *motion, NSError *error) { CMAttitude *attitude = motion.attitude; //Calculation with rotationMatrix m11 = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%.02f", attitude.rotationMatrix.m11]; m12 = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%.02f", attitude.rotationMatrix.m12]; m13 = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%.02f", attitude.rotationMatrix.m13]; ......... }

  • ActiveSync File Explorer alternative

    - by Andy White
    Is there an alternative to the ActiveSync "Explore" for looking at the file system of a Windows Mobile device? (This same thing can also be accessed from My Computer - Mobile Device). It would be nice if you could just navigate into the device and view or edit files without having to copy them back and forth from the PC. Why does it work this way in the first place? Is the Explore view sort of a "virtual" version of your phone's file system that cannot be edited directly?

  • Android - dialer icon gets placed in recently used apps after finish()

    - by Donal Rafferty
    In my application I detect the out going call when a call is dialled from the dialer or contacts. This works fine and I then pop up a dialog saying I have detected the call and then the user presses a button to close the dialog which calls finish() on that activity. It all works fine except that when I then hold the home key to bring up the recently used apps the dialer icon is there. And when it is clicked the dialog is brought back into focus in the foreground when the dialog activity should be dead and gone and not be able to be brought back to the foreground. Here is a picture of what I mean. So two questions arise, why would the dialer icon be getting placed there and why would it be recalling my activity to the foreground? Here is the code for that Activity which has a dialog theme: public class CallDialogActivity extends Activity{ boolean isRecording; AudioManager audio_service; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.dialog); audio_service = (AudioManager) getSystemService(Context.AUDIO_SERVICE); getWindow().addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND); Bundle b = this.getIntent().getExtras(); String number = b.getString("com.networks.NUMBER"); String name = b.getString("com.networks.NAME"); TextView tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.voip) ; tv.setText(name); Intent service = new Intent(CallAudio.CICERO_CALL_SERVICE); startService(service); final Button stop_Call_Button = (Button) findViewById(R.id.widget35); this.setVolumeControlStream(AudioManager.STREAM_VOICE_CALL); stop_Call_Button.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View v){ Intent service = new Intent(CallAudio._CALL_SERVICE); //this is for Android 1.5 (sets speaker going for a few seconds before shutting down) stopService(service); Intent setIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MAIN); setIntent.addCategory(Intent.CATEGORY_HOME); setIntent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP); startActivity(setIntent); finish(); isRecording = false; } }); final Button speaker_Button = (Button) findViewById(R.id.widget36); speaker_Button.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View v){ if(true){ audio_service.setSpeakerphoneOn(false); } else{ audio_service.setSpeakerphoneOn(true); } } }); } @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); } @Override protected void onPause() { super.onPause(); } public void onCofigurationChanged(Configuration newConfig) { super.onConfigurationChanged(newConfig); } } It calls a service that uses AudioRecord to record from the Mic and AudioTrack to play it out the earpiece, nothing in the service to do with the dialler. Has anyone any idea why this might be happening?

  • Changing UI color in Eclipse

    - by Lo'oris
    I'm aware of this topic: I've used it to change most of the editor colors, and that's great. But that wasn't enought, there's still too much white (and I need to change it because it hurts my eyes). I've searched in the preferences (both using Eclipse itself and editing the files) for instances of while (255,255,255) and changed them all. Looks like I'm missing something. too much white in the UI: http://www.imagebanana.com/view/gy89qf7/eclipse_too_much_white_1.png totally white in this screen: http://www.imagebanana.com/view/j8282wf/eclipse_too_much_white_2.png

  • Android @Override usage

    - by BahaiResearch.com
    (Newbie to Java, old time C# guy.) I have noticed a lot of the use of @Override in Android example code. I thought that all Java methods were by default "Virutal"? What then does @Override do? Example: private class HelloWebViewClient extends WebViewClient { @Override public boolean shouldOverrideUrlLoading(WebView view, String url) { view.loadUrl(url); return true; } }

  • Architectural Design for a Data-Driven Silverlight WP7 app

    - by Rosarch
    I have a Silverlight Windows Phone 7 app that pulls data from a public API. I find myself doing much of the same thing over and over again: In the UI, set a loading message or loading progress bar in place of where the content is Get the content, which may be already in memory, cached in isolated file storage, or require an HTTP request If the content can not be acquired (no network connection, etc), display an error message If the content is acquired, display it in the UI Keep the content in main memory for subsequent queries The content that is displayed to the user can be taken directly from a data source, such as an ObservableCollection, or it may be a query on a data source. I would like to factor out this repetitive process into a framework where ideally only the following needs to be specified: Where to display the content in the UI The UI elements to show while loading, on failure, and on success The URI of the HTTP request How to parse the HTTP response into the data structure that will kept in memory The location of the file in isolated storage, if it exists How to parse the file contents into the data structure that will be kept in memory It may sound like a lot, but two strings, three FrameworkElements, and two methods is less than the overhead that I currently have. Also, this needs to work for however the data is maintained in memory, and needs to work for direct collections and queries on those collections. My questions are: Has something like this already been implemented? Are my thoughts about the topic above fundamentally wrong in some way? Here is a design I'm thinking of: There are two components, a View and a Model. The View is given the FrameworkElements for loading, failure, and success. It is also given a reference to the corresponding Model. The View is a UserControl that is placed somewhere in the UI. The Model a class that is given the URI for the data, a method of how to parse the data, and optionally a filename and how to parse the file. It is responsible for retrieving the data and notifying the View whenever the current status (loading/fail/success) changes. If the data downloaded from the network is different from the cache, the network data takes precedence. When the app closes or is tombstoned, the model writes the data to the cache. How does that sound?

  • ASP.NET MVC - Appending data onto a file download

    - by aschepis
    what is the best way to append data onto a file download? I figure that i can make my own class that implements InputStream and just consolidates two input streams (the file first, my additional data to append second.) but is there an existing view class that i can use to just return an InputStream or will i have to roll my own view class as well?

  • How can you tell which columns are unused in ALL_TAB_COLS?

    - by thecoop
    When you query the ALL_TAB_COLS view on Oracle 9i, it lists columns marked as UNUSED as well as the 'active' table columns. There doesn't seem to be a field that explicitly says whether a column is UNUSED, or any view I can join to that lists the unused columns in a table. How can I easily find out which are the unused columns, so I can filter them out of ALL_TAB_COLS?

  • Overfocus in GridView

    - by chuck258
    I'm trying to implement a GridView that Focuses the next Item and "Overscrolls at the End of a List. E.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 I want to scroll 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... just by pressing the right Key. Right now I can only Scroll 1 2 3 and then it stops and I have to scroll with the down Key. I already tried to set the focusViews in code (In the getView() method of my ArrayList Adapter, that fills the GridView) view.setId(position); view.setNextFocusLeftId(position-1); view.setNextFocusRightId(position+1); But that doesn't work. I found the boolean *Scroll(int direction) Methods on grepcode But theese are Package Local and I can't overwrite them. Any suggestions on how to solve this. Can I use another View and get the same Layout as a Gridview? I also set a OnFocusChangeListener to see what happens with no reaction. Edit: I just added this to my MainActivity, but now it seems to onKeyDown only get called when the GridView doesn't handle the KeyEvent (If the Last Item in a row is selected). @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { switch (keyCode) { case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT: if (focusedView > 0) { mContainer.setSelection(--focusedView); Log.v("TEST", focusedView+""); } return true; case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT: if (focusedView < mAdapter.getCount() - 1) { mContainer.setSelection(++focusedView); Log.v("TEST", focusedView+""); } return true; } return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } Edit 2: This is so f***ing stupid but works so damn fine :D @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { switch (keyCode) { case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT: mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_UP, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_UP)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT)); return true; case KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT: mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)); mContainer.onKeyDown(KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT, new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)); return true; } return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } I really don't want to post this as Answer, and I really don't want to have to use this Code because it is such a stupid workaround ;TLDR: Help still needed

  • How to force a textField to become editable?

    - by Tzur Gazit
    I have a custom tableViewCell with a UITextLabel inside it. When the cell is first displayed, the place holder is shown and then disappears when the user types something in. What I want is to go back to the parent view, and then to the sub view again, and that the field will show the text that the user previously typed. If I set the text field, simply with setText, the textField is not editable. Any idea?

  • Android - doInBackground() error in AsyncTask

    - by AimanB
    What my app here basically does is it captures a photo or import from gallery, and when the Upload button is pressed, the image will be uploaded to a localhost server. Before I implemented AsyncTask into the process, it doesn't have any problem uploading whatsoever. Now that I've put AsyncTask, everything went wrong. I don't know which part that I do wrong in this phase. • How do I set the text color of a Cocoa tooltip?

    - by Adam Preble
    I am using BGHUDAppKit for an outline view within a HUD-style (black) NSPanel. As such the text in my outline view cells is light gray or white. Unfortunately this means that when I hover to bring up a tooltip for a cell's value, it shows up as light gray text on yellow, which is illegible. How can I set the text color for the tooltip, or is there a way that I can modify the control itself (without changing its appearance) to work better with the tooltip mechanism?
