  Hi, I could not figure out how to enter text into HTML Editor using Watin. I tried //ie.TextField(Find.ById("htmlDetail_ctl06_ctl04")).TypeText("ABCD"); But got error: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus. Can you give some example how to enter text into AJAX HTML Editor using watin please? • MVP on Asp.Net WebForms

  I'm not clear about this.... When having a gridview on the View, is the controller who has to set up the Data source, columns, etc? or I just have to expose the DataBinding stuff, fire it from the controller and let the html/codebehind on the view handle all the rendering and wiring up? • WPF slow to start on x64 in .NET Framework 4.0

  I've noticed that if I build my WPF application for Any CPU/x64, it takes MUCH longer to start (on the order of about 20 seconds) or to load new controls than it does if started on x86 (in release & debug modes, inside or outside of VS). This occurs with even the simplest WPF apps. The problem is discussed in this MSDN thread, but no answer was provided there. This happens only with .NET 4.0 -- in 3.5 SP1, x64 was just as fast as x86. Interestingly, Microsoft seems to know about this problem since the default for a new WPF project in VS2010 is x86. Is this a real bug or am I just doing it wrong? EDIT: Possibly related to this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2788215/slow-databinding-setup-time-in-c-net-4-0. I'm using data binding heavily.

If i lower my privacy settings in IE, the cookies get restricted, and if i further lower it to allow all, it gets thru, so it is my P3P compact policy the coz, and needs fixing. If someone can guide me in the right direction, or if i can hire someone for an hour or two to look into it. M.

We use SharePoint in the company for basic document sharing and team sites. I need an easy to use wiki tool which is capable of showing the content like WikiPedia contents and it would be great if I could have the SharePoint tree view and Active Directory authentication also. I googled it and found Atlassian's Confluence and it seems that this product is capable of the requirements. We use Jira for issue tracking, so we can use it's reporting in dashboards. I need and it has a Wiki part which displays wiki pages in tree view. It should be like Does anyone used Confluence or have an idea for other products which meets my requirements

Currently I'm creating my own MyHeaderParser object and using it with reduce() on the header string. It's working, but very fragile. • iPhone UIWebView width does not fit after zooming operation + UIInterfaceOrientation change

  I created a bare bones iPhone app with a UIWebView (Scales Page to Fit = YES, shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation = YES) and loaded a webpage, e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/ Rotating the device shows that UIWebView is auto-resized to fit the width. Good. Incorrect: Zoom into the page and zoom out. Now rotating the device shows UIWebView in a weird width in one of the orientation (if u zoom in landscape, the portrait width is weird, vice versa). This behavior is fixed only when you navigate to another page. Correct: Load the same URL in Mobile Safari. Rotating works & the width fits regardless of the zooming exercise. Is this a UIWebView bug (probably not)? Or is there something that needs to be done to make things "just work" like in Mobile Safari?

• Are TClientDataSets part of your toolkit, or have they been replaced by something else?

  I have 50 or 60 records of four or five fields. I need to load the records into RAM (From a CSV file), search on different fields, enumerate, etc. Not a lot of data, not a lot of functionality. I was all excited to use the new (to me in D2010) TDictionary or TList, but thought that a TClientDataset (which I've never used before) might be more appropriate. With a TClientDataSet, I can use .Locate on any field, enumerate with while NOT CDS.EOF, etc. And, what exactly is this MidasLib that I have to use with CDS? Can I reasonably expect it to be supported in the future? Is TClientDataSet still considered state-of-the-art, or is it showing its age and somewhat deprecated (literally and figuratively)? I've seen colleagues use DX's TdxMemData. Why use it (or any of the other handful of memory datasets I've seen while googling this issue) rather than a CDS? The .ErrorMessage property is so far down the chain that I don't know how to write the LINQ...

• GWT - ListBox - pre-selecting an item

  Hey there Stackoverflow, I got a doubt regarding pre-selecting(setSelectedIndex(index)) an item in a ListBox, Im using Spring + GWT. I got a dialog that contains a painel, this panel has a flexpanel, in which I've put a couple ListBox, this are filled up with data from my database. But this painel is for updates of an entity in my database, thus I wanted it to pre-select the current properties for this items, alowing the user to change at will. I do the filling up in the update method of the widget. I tried setting the selectedItem in the update method, but it gives me an null error. I've searched a few places and it seems that the listbox are only filled at the exact moment of the display. Thus pre-selecting would be impossible. I thought about some event, that is fired when the page is displayed. onLoad() doesnt work.. Anyone have something to help me out in here? Thx in advance, Rodrigo Dellacqua

• VS2010 add-in custom menu item in files of Solution Explorer

  Hey guys, I need to create a custom menu item for Visual Studio 2010 Add-in in C#, but I have had no luck in coming with a solution anytime soon. I am aware that there was a similar post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2486818/visual-studio-add-in-adding-a-context-menu-item-to-solution-explorer But it did not help, as the blog follows the process through the integration package, and the video is done through VB. I had attempted to convert the VB syntax to the C# syntax, but about half way through the video, the Add-in methods has significantly changed from 2005 to 2010, as some of the methods have removed or changed. Is there any good tutorials on making a custom menu item on the Solution Explorer in the lastest Visual Studio in C#, and is there a good website that could be used as a reference for looking over the VS add-in API? I've used Microsoft's main website, however it is confusing and wordy, which is difficult to understand and find the methods, properties, or commands that I am looking for. Any help would be appreicated, Thanks in advance.

What I'm trying to do is take a UIImage and add a shadow to it, then return a whole new UIImage, shadow and all. My question: i want to design a database, that will be used for a production facility of different types of products where each product has its own (number of) parameters. because i want the serial numbers to be in one tabel for overview purposes i have a problem with these different paraeters . One solution could be EAV, but it has its downsides, certainly because we have +- 5 products with every product +- 20.000 serial numbers (records). it looks a bit overkill to me... I just don't know how one could design a database so that you have an attribute in a mastertable that says: 'hey, you could find details of this record in THAT detail-table". 'in a way that you qould easely query the results) currenty i am using Visual Basic & Acces 2007. but i'm going to Visual Basic & MySQL. thanks for your help. Bob

  As part of some build automation of running xUnit.net tests with MSBuild, I'm running into a case where I need to loop over a batch of items. Inside the loop, I need to detect whether an iteration failed, but I want to continue executing regardless. Then after the batched bit, I need to know whether one or more errors have occurred in order to report the outcome to TeamBuild. IOW, in pseudocode: Task Name=RunTests CreateItems ForEach item CallTarget Target=RunTest ContinueOnError=true CombineNUnitResults Report success/failure Task Name=RunTest XUnit item I'm hoping this can be achieved without a custom task (or hacking the xunit.net MSBuild task as Jonne did). • Visual Studio 2010: adding a service reference to a 2008 generated wsdl

  Doesn't produce a app.config . In my team there is a guy who has Visual Studio 2008, he created a webservice. Then there is me, adding this webservice to a console project. Adding the service reference goes without problems but no valid app.config is generated. It's just empty <configuration> </configuration> When I disable 'reuse types' in my service reference it works but then I get an ambiguous error. Is this a bug? I found http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2159107/visual-studio-does-not-generate-app-config-content-when-add-service-reference this one, but there is no solution there, so I thought I bump the problem up again. • Java OpenGL color material darkens when depth test is disabled

  I've been working with the depth buffer in OpenGL (JOGL) to ensure certain items are rendered in front of others by disabling the depth buffer (detailed in my previous question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2516086/java-opengl-saving-depth-buffer). This works, except when I set the color of an item that is being drawn when the depth test is disabled, none of the material shininess shows up. The item is rendered as a darker version of the original color (it seems like there is no lighting effect really applied to it). Is there a reason why this would be happening? and how might I prevent this? thanks, Jeff

• SQL Server 2008 Restore from Backup fails with error 3241 'cannot process this media family'

  I am attempting to backup a database from a SQL Server instance on one machine and restore it to another, and I am encountering the frequently discovered 'SQL Server cannot process this media family' error. Each of my instances are SQL Server 2008, but with different patch levels Restore: 10.0.2531.0 Backup: 10.0.1600.22 ((SQL_PreRelease).080709-1414 ) The restore DB is express. Not sure about the backup version. The backup version is on a virtual private server. The restore is on my development box. When I restore to a different database on the source (backup) server, it restores fine. Lots of stuff on google about this issue, some on stackoverflow about this issue, but nothing which is this exact situation. Any thoughts? It should be straightforward to do a backup and restore from one machine to another (having done this thousands of times in with SQL 6.5,7,2000,2005).

  I'm trying to download an html file with curl in bash. When I download it manually, it works fine. However, when i try and run my script through crontab, the output html file is very small and just says "Object moved to here." with a broken link. Does this have something to do with the sparse environment the crontab commands run it? I found this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1279340/php-ssl-curl-object-moved-error but i'm using bash, not php. What are the equivalent command line options or variables to set to fix this problem in bash? (I want to do this with curl, not wget)

• use jsonp to get xml cross domain

  I am trying to read xml into a webpage from another server, and I assume that my problem is Same-Origin Policy, and therefore a cross domain problem. I have a bit of googling and it seems that jsonp is the way forward. Based on some examples I found here on stackoverflow and another sites, this is what I have, and it does not "hit" the server with the xml. I can view the xml in a browser. $(document).ready(function(){ $.ajax({ type: 'GET', dataType: 'jsonp', url: 'http://192.168.0.106:8111/getconfiguration?', success: function (xml) { //do stuff with received xml }}); Any suggestions? please keep in mind that I am a newbie with regards to JS / JQuery ;o)

• Missing Menu Bar in Visual Studio 2010

  When I opened up Visual Studio 2010 this morning, my Menu Bar (you know, the bar with File, Edit, etc. on it) was missing. I've tried all of the right-click menus, customize options, Function keys and Google searches that I can think of but to no avail. This is exactly the kind of humiliation that brings sobriety to my ever-growing ego as a developer. I'm actually posting this on StackOverflow.com for the world to see. Next, I will be just as humiliated when someone replies to this and tells me precisely how simple it is and how ignorant that I am for not knowing the simple key combination or finding it on Google. • CSS Frameworks like 960 and Blueprint?

  This is at the framework level, not dealing directly with CSS, so posting to SO. I just learned about the existence of CSS frameworks. 960 Grid System seems pretty awesome, then I found Blueprint, which seems to do the same thing and more. Is there a better word than "framework" to categorize this? Are there any other products in this category? In response to one of the comments http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1483565/link-to-a-site-designed-using-a-css-framework-blueprint-960-etc, "how many example frameworks do you want? he just listed two of them.", I'd love to have more than two examples, unless those are the only two in the running. Blueprint, which is "the original CSS framework" 960 Grid System, which is a tool to have a grid underlying your screen. YUI 2: Grids, similar to 960? The rest of YUI is more similar to JQuery?

• Winforms ComboBox autocomplete search multiple parts of string

  Very similar question to this one... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/522521/autocomplete-for-combobox-in-wpf-anywhere-in-text-not-just-beginning but my issue is for windows-forms rather than WPF. I have a winforms databound combox working great with autocomplete list coming from the data items in the combobox. Of course the client wants it to work "better", and that means that they want the autocomplete to work by searching and showing autocomplete options for any matching (contains()) string not just the starting string (startswith()) I know it's probably not just a property that can be set in the combobox, but can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Struts 1 - struts-taglib.jar is not being found by my web application

  I am using Struts-1. I have developed a struts-based web application. I am using struts tags in my JSP pages supplied in struts-taglib.jar by inserting the following lines in the JSP file: <%@ taglib prefix="html" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" %> <%@ taglib prefix="logic" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-logic" %> <%@ taglib prefix="bean" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-bean" %> Now the application is working fine when I run it on my localsystem but when I deploy it on a server, it shows the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://struts.apache.org/tags-html cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application From the above exception, it seems that the application hasn't found the struts-taglib.jar file. But I have put the struts-taglib.jar in /WEB-INF/lib directory. Then where is the problem?
