  • jQuery select by two name roots and perform one of two function depending on which root was selected

    - by RetroCoder
    I'm trying to get this code to work in jQuery and I'm trying to make sure that for each iteration of each root element, its alternate root element for that same iteration doesn't contain anything. Otherwise it sets the .val("") property to an empty string. Looking for a simple solution if possible using search, find, or swap. Each matching number is on the same row level and the same iteration count. I have two input types of input text elements with two different root names like so: 1st Root is "rootA" <input type="text" name="rootA1" /> <input type="text" name="rootA2 /> <input type="text" name="rootA3" /> 2nd Root is "rootB" <input type="text" name="rootB1" /> <input type="text" name="rootB2 /> <input type="text" name="rootB3" /> On blur if any of rootA is called call function fnRootA();. On blur if any of rootB is called call function fnRootB();. Again, I'm trying to make sure that for each iteration like 1 that the alternate root doesn't contain anything, else it sets the .val("") property to an empty string of the root being blurred. My current code works for a single element but wanted to use find or search but not sure how to construct it.. $("input[name='rootA1']").blur(function(e) { fnRootA(1); // this code just removes rootA1's value val("") //if rootB1 has something in it value property // the (1) in parenthesis is the iteration number });

  • How to format JSON Date?

    - by Mark Struzinski
    I'm taking my first crack at AJAX with jQuery. I'm getting my data onto my page, but I'm having some trouble with the JSON that is returned for Date data types. Basically, I'm getting a string back that looks like this: /Date(1224043200000)/ From a total newbie at JSON - How do I format this to a short date format? Should this be handled somewhere in the jQuery code? I've tried the jQuery.UI.datepicker plugin using $.datepicker.formatDate() wiuth no success. FYI: Here's the solution I came up with using a combination of the answers here: function getMismatch(id) { $.getJSON("Main.aspx?Callback=GetMismatch", { MismatchId: id }, function(result) { $("#AuthMerchId").text(result.AuthorizationMerchantId); $("#SttlMerchId").text(result.SettlementMerchantId); $("#CreateDate").text(formatJSONDate(Date(result.AppendDts))); $("#ExpireDate").text(formatJSONDate(Date(result.ExpiresDts))); $("#LastUpdate").text(formatJSONDate(Date(result.LastUpdateDts))); $("#LastUpdatedBy").text(result.LastUpdateNt); $("#ProcessIn").text(result.ProcessIn); } ); return false; } function formatJSONDate(jsonDate){ var newDate = dateFormat(jsonDate, "mm/dd/yyyy"); return newDate; } This solution got my object from the callback method and displayed the dates on the page properly using the date format library.

  • Getting the value of an input inside a td for each row with jQuery

    - by Anne
    I am still having so many problems with this: function padTitles() { $('tr').each(function () { var tds = $(this).find('input'), text = tds.filter('[id^="TempRowKey_"]').val(), tdToPad = tds.filter('[id^="title_"]'), pad; if (/0\.0$/.test(text)) pad = 10; else if (/\.0$/.test(text)) pad = 35; else pad = 60; tdToPad.css('paddingLeft', pad); }); } Note: here is what I was using before. This worked when the value was not inside an input: var tds = $(this).find('td'), text = tds.filter('[id^="refKey_"]').text(), It is supposed to get the Value of the Inputs with id's that start with TempRowKey_ and then use these for padding. But the code does nothing. Here is my HTML: <tr id="row_1"> <td id="tempRowKey_1" > <input type="text" size="10" value="1.0.0" class="updatable" id="TempRowKey_1"> </td> <td id="title_1"> <input id="Title_1" class="updatable" type="text" value="zxxx" size="100" name="item.Title"> </td>. <td ... </tr> Is there some way I can test this. I can't get access to anything inside the jQuery block?

  • Angular throws "Error: Invalid argument." in IE

    - by przno
    I have a directive which takes element's text and places wbr elements after every 10th character. I'm using it for example on table cells with long text (e.g. URLs), so it does not span over the table. Code of the directive: myApp.directive('myWbr', function ($interpolate) { return { restrict: 'A', link: function (scope, element, attrs) { // get the interpolated text of HTML element var expression = $interpolate(element.text()); // get new text, which has <wbr> element on every 10th position var addWbr = function (inputText) { var newText = ''; for (var i = 0; i < inputText.length; i++) { if ((i !== 0) && (i % 10 === 0)) newText += '<wbr>'; // no end tag newText += inputText[i]; } return newText; }; scope.$watch(function (scope) { // replace element's content with the new one, which contains <wbr>s element.html(addWbr(expression(scope))); }); } }; }); Works fine except in IE (I have tried IE8 and IE9), where it throws an error to the console: Error: Invalid argument. Here is jsFiddle, when clicking on the button you can see the error in console. So obvious question: why is the error there, what is the source of it, and why only in IE? (Bonus question: how can I make IE dev tools to tell me more about error, like the line from source code, because it took me some time to locate it, Error: Invalid argument. does not tell much about the origin.) P.S.: I know IE does not know the wbr at all, but that is not the issue. Edit: in my real application I have re-written the directive to not to look on element's text and modify that, but rather pass the input text via attribute, and works fine now in all browsers. But I'm still curious why the original solution was giving that error in IE, thus starting the bounty.

  • javascript/html/php: Is it possible to insert a value into a form with Ajax?

    - by user1260310
    I have a form where users enter some text manually. Then I'd like to let the users choose a tag from a database through AJAX, not unlike how tag suggestions appear in the SO question form. While the div where the ajax call places the tag is inside the form, it does not seem to register and the tag is not picked up by the form. Am I missing something in my code, is this impossible or, if impossible there a better way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions. Here is code: html <form method="post" action="enterdata.php"> <input type="text" name="text">Enter text here. <div id="inserttags"></div><a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="getTags()";>Get tags</a> <form type="button" name="submit" value="Enter Text and Tag"> </form> javascript getTags() { various Ajax goes here, then //following line inserts value into div of html document.getElementById("inserttags").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; // a bit more ajax, then following pulls tag from db xmlhttp.open("GET","findtags.php",true); xmlhttp.send(); } //end function php //gettags.php //first pull tag from db. Then: echo 'input type="text" name="tag" value= "html">Enter tag'; //above output gets inserted in div and is visible on page. Though the above output is visible on page, the form does not seem to pick it up when you click "Enter Text and Tag" to submit the form.

  • VB .NET Passing a Structure containing an array of String and an array of Integer into a C++ DLL

    - by DanJunior
    Hi everyone, I'm having problems with marshalling in VB .NET to C++, here's the code : In the C++ DLL : struct APP_PARAM { int numData; LPCSTR *text; int *values; }; int App::StartApp(APP_PARAM params) { for (int i = 0; i < numLines; i++) { OutputDebugString(params.text[i]); } } In VB .NET : <StructLayoutAttribute(LayoutKind.Sequential)> _ Public Structure APP_PARAM Public numData As Integer Public text As System.IntPtr Public values As System.IntPtr End Structure Declare Function StartApp Lib "AppSupport.dll" (ByVal params As APP_PARAM) As Integer Sub Main() Dim params As APP_PARAM params.numData = 3 Dim text As String() = {"A", "B", "C"} Dim textHandle As GCHandle = GCHandle.Alloc(text) params.text = GCHandle.ToIntPtr(textHandle) Dim values As Integer() = {10, 20, 30} Dim valuesHandle As GCHandle = GCHandle.Alloc(values) params.values = GCHandle.ToIntPtr(heightHandle) StartApp(params) textHandle.Free() valuesHandle.Free() End Sub I checked the C++ side, the output from the OutputDebugString is garbage, the text array contains random characters. What is the correct way to do this?? Thanks a lot...

  • style ul with width to accommodate items

    - by Tallmaris
    Sorry I could not find a similar answer on SO. I have the following markup (generated by jquery ui autocomplete but this is not the issue here) <ul style="z-index: 1; display: block; border: thin solid red; width: 200px;"> <li> <a> <div style="font-size: 0.85em;"> <span style="float: right; padding-left: 10px; color: gray;"> United Kingdom </span> <span style="">text text text text text</span> </div> </a> </li> </ul> As you can see in this fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/fVr8P/2/ the text wraps because the width is limited and the country span is "floating". What I would like would be for the width to enlarge to accommodate the full length, but if I put width: auto; it will expand to 100%. Background The ul is of course coming from jquery ui autocomplete. I am styling the results a bit using the autocomplete.html extension. Problem is that everything is working ok in firefox an chrome because the autocomplete is set to the correct width on creation. in IE this does not happen (width is too small) so the text wraps. I am hping to come to a simple css only solution, without fiddling around in jQuery.

  • my div tag is not aligning properly after jquery.html replacement

    - by Adam
    <div class="container"><span class="field_label">Job</span><input class="fields2" type="text" maxlength="200" name="first_name" /></div> <div class="container"><span class="field_label">Date</span><input class="fields2" type="text" maxlength="200" name="the_date" id="the_date" /></div> <div class="container" id="sched_text">sdfdsfdsf</div> <!-- schedule text--> <div class="container"><span class="field_label">Time</span> .container{ position:relative; display:block; float:right; border: 1px solid; padding-bottom: 10px; } my html/css here has my containers aligning right below each other. However, when I use .html in jquery to change or add text to sched_text it throws the css off and places the div tag not as a block anymore but placed somewhere to the side. Does something change when you use .html text? what would the proper way of doing it? Thanks Ok the issue is that my .html or .text is not a string. I just did .text(the_Week[i][1]); which results in a number. How do I present it as a string?

  • Radio button is not funtioning

    - by user3614421
    I'm having problem with my radio button in my gridview. I want to select any row one by one so that I can perform UPDATE, DELETE, and DISPLAY the row. When I select the button, the page will be refreshed and the button I selected before is not selected anymore. So I can't click any menu to update, delete or display the row. I noticed this is happening when I set the Autopostback = "True". How can I solve it? Any idea? Below are my codes: Page: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function radiobtn(id) { var rdBtn = document.getElementById(id); var List = document.getElementsByTagName("input"); for (i = 0; i < List.length; i++) { if (List[i].type == "radio" && List[i].id != rdBtn.id) { List[i].checked = false; } } } </script> <asp:RadioButton ID="CheckDel" runat="server" onclick="javascript:radiobtn(this.id)" OnCheckedChanged="CheckDel_CheckedChanged" AutoPostBack="True" /> server end: protected void CheckDel_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { CheckBox chkStatus = (CheckBox)sender; GridViewRow row = (GridViewRow)chkStatus.NamingContainer; Session["datestart"] = row.Cells[1].Text; Session["empid"] = row.Cells[2].Text; Session["empname"] = row.Cells[3].Text; Session["days"] = row.Cells[4].Text; Session["leavetype"] = row.Cells[5].Text; Session["leavestatus"] = row.Cells[6].Text; bool status = chkStatus.Checked; } Please help

  • jqGrid - Problems opening in jquery tabs (on Firefox and Google Chrome)

    - by Ben Hargreaves
    I have developed a very simple MVC app to test out trirand's jqGrid for MVC. The app opens a jqgrid in a jquery tab group and everything is ok with IE. However when I use Firefox jqgrid only opens occasionaly in the first tab (but not under any other tab), and in Chrome my jqgrids dont appear to open under any tab of the group. I'm a bit of an MVC newbie (and have only been testing jqgrid out for a few days), but I know my users will want to use different browsers. Trirand have not come back with any answer so wondered if anyone else had had a similar issue. I have really just implemented jqgrid as per the controllers and model in the sample application on the Trirand site, and then combined it with a straightforward jquery tab group. My MVC Details Page is as follows; <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<PRAMSAPP.Models.Family>" %> <%@ Import Namespace="Trirand.Web.Mvc" %> <%@ Import Namespace="PRAMSAPP.Controllers" %> <%@ Import Namespace="PRAMSAPP.Models" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server"> Details </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/scripts/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js"></script> <fieldset> <legend>Family</legend> <div class="display-field"><%= Html.Encode(Model.FamilyID) %></div> <div class="display-field"><%= Html.Encode(Model.FamilySurname) %></div> </fieldset> <div id="tabs"> <ul> <li> <%= Html.ActionLink("GridChildren", "GridDemo", new { controller = "Grid", id = Model.FamilyID })%> </li> <li> <%= Html.ActionLink("Children", "ShowFamiliesChildren", new { famid = Model.FamilyID, page = Page})%> </li> </ul> </div> <p> <%= Html.ActionLink("Edit", "Edit", new { id=Model.FamilyID }) %> | <%= Html.ActionLink("Back to List", "Index") %> </p> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('#tabs').tabs(); }); </script> </asp:Content> And My Controller page is as follows; <%@ Page Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<PRAMSAPP.Models.FamiliesChildrenJqGridModel>" %> <%@ Import Namespace="Trirand.Web.Mvc" %> <%@ Import Namespace="PRAMSAPP.Controllers" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <!-- The jQuery UI theme that will be used by the grid --> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="/Content/themes/redmond/jquery-ui-1.7.1.custom.css" /> <!-- The Css UI theme extension of jqGrid --> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="/Content/themes/ui.jqgrid.css" /> <!-- jQuery library is a prerequisite for jqGrid --> <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <!-- language pack - MUST be included before the jqGrid javascript --> <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/grid.locale-en.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/jqgrid/jquery.jqGrid.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <div> <%= Html.Trirand().JQGrid(Model.FamiliesChildrenGrid, "JQGrid1") %> </div> </body>

  • TinyMCE with AJAX (Update Panel) never has a value.

    - by sah302
    I wanted to use a Rich Text Editor for a text area inside an update panel. I found this post: http://www.queness.com/post/212/10-jquery-and-non-jquery-javascript-rich-text-editors via this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1207382/need-asp-net-mvc-rich-text-editor Decided to go with TinyMCE as I used it before in non AJAX situations, and it says in that list it is AJAX compatible. Alright I do the good ol' tinyMCE.init({ //settings here }); Test it out and it disappears after doing a update panel update. I figure out from a question on here that it should be in the page_load function so it gets run even on async postbacks. Alright do that and the panel stays. However, upon trying to submit the value from my textarea, the text of it always comes back as empty because my form validator always says "You must enter a description" even when I enter text into it. This happens the first time the page loads and after async postbacks have been done to the page. Alright I find this http://www.dallasjclark.com/using-tinymce-with-ajax/ and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/699615/cant-post-twice-from-the-same-ajax-tinymce-textarea. I try to add this code into my page load function right after the tinyMCE.init. Doing this breaks all my jquery being called also in the page_load after it, and it still has the same problem. I am still pretty beginner to client side scripting stuff, so maybe I need to put the code in a different spot than page_load? Not sure the posts I linked weren't very clue on where to put that code. My Javascript: <script type="text/javascript"> var redirectUrl = '<%= redirectUrl %>'; function pageLoad() { tinyMCE.init({ mode: "exact", elements: "ctl00_mainContent_tbDescription", theme: "advanced", plugins: "table,advhr,advimage,iespell,insertdatetime,preview,searchreplace,print,contextmenu,paste,fullscreen", theme_advanced_buttons1_add_before: "preview,separator", theme_advanced_buttons1: "bold,italic,underline,separator,justifyleft,justifycenter,justifyright, justifyfull,bullist,numlist,undo,redo,link,unlink,separator,styleselect,formatselect", theme_advanced_buttons2: "cut,copy,paste,pastetext,pasteword,separator,removeformat,cleanup,charmap,search,replace,separator,iespell,code,fullscreen", theme_advanced_buttons2_add_before: "", theme_advanced_buttons3: "", theme_advanced_toolbar_location: "top", theme_advanced_toolbar_align: "left", extended_valid_elements: "a[name|href|target|title|onclick],img[class|src|border=0|alt|title|hspace|vspace|width|height|align|onmouseover|onmouseout|name],hr[class|width|size|noshade],font[face|size|color|style],span[class|align|style]", paste_auto_cleanup_on_paste: true, paste_convert_headers_to_strong: true, button_tile_map: true }); tinyMCE.triggerSave(false, true); tiny_mce_editor = tinyMCE.get('ctl00_mainContent_tbDescription'); var newData = tiny_mce_editor.getContent(); tinyMCE.execCommand('mceRemoveControl', false, 'your_textarea_name'); //QJqueryUI dialog stuff }</script> Now my current code doesn't have the tinyMCE.execCommand("mceAddControl",true,'content'); which that one question indicated should also be added. I did try adding it but, again, wasn't sure where to put it and just putting it in the page_load seemed to have no effect. Textbox control: <asp:TextBox ID="tbDescription" runat="server" TextMode="MultiLine" Width="500px" Height="175px"></asp:TextBox><br /> How can I get these values so that the code behind can actually get what is typed in the textarea and my validator won't come up as saying it's empty? Even after async postbacks, since I have multiple buttons on the form that update it prior to actual submission. Thanks! Edit: For further clarification I have form validation on the back-end like so: If tbDescription.Text = "" Or tbDescription.Text Is Nothing Then lblDescriptionError.Text = "You must enter a description." isError = True Else lblDescriptionError.Text = "" End If And this error will always cause the error message to be dispalyed. Edit: Alright I am getting desperate here, I have spent hours on this. I finally found what I thought to be a winner on experts exchange which states the following (there was a part about encoding the value in xml, but I skipped that): For anyone who wants to use tinyMCE with AJAX.Net: Append begin/end handlers to the AJAX Request object. These will remove the tinyMCE control before sending the data (begin), and it will recreate the tinyMCE control (end): Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_beginRequest(function(sender, args) { var edID = "<%=this.ClientID%>_rte_tmce"; // the id of your textbox/textarea. var ed = tinyMCE.getInstanceById(edID); if (ed) { tinyMCE.execCommand('mceFocus', false, edID); tinyMCE.execCommand('mceRemoveControl', false, edID); } }); Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(function(sender, args) { var edID = "<%=this.ClientID%>_rte_tmce"; var ed = tinyMCE.getInstanceById(edID); if (ed) { tinyMCE.execCommand('mceAddControl', false, edID); } }); When the user changes/blurs from the tinyMCE control, we want to ensure that the textarea/textbox gets updated properly: ed.onChange.add(function(ed, l) { tinyMCE.triggerSave(true, true); }); Now I have tried this code putting it in its own script tag, putting the begin and end requests into their own script tags and putting the ed.onChange in the page_load, putting everything in the page_load, and putting all 3 in it's own script tag. In all cases it never worked, and even sometimes broke the jquery that is also in my page_load... (and yes I changed the above code to fit my page) Can anyone get this to work or offer a solution?

  • Custom Paging for GridView in an UpdatePanel not firing PageIndexChanging event

    - by JeffCren
    I have a GridView that uses custom paging inside an UpdatePanel (so that the paging and sorting of the gridview don't cause postback). The sorting works fine, but the paging doesn't. The PageIndexChanging event is never called. This is the aspx code: <asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="upSearchResults" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Always"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="gvSearchResults" runat="server" AllowSorting="true" AutoGenerateColumns="false" AllowPaging="true" PageSize="10" OnDataBound="gvSearchResults_DataBound" OnRowDataBound ="gvSearchResults_RowDataBound" OnSorting="gvSearchResults_Sorting" OnPageIndexChanging="gvSearchResults_PageIndexChanging" Width="100%" EnableSortingAndPagingCallbacks="false"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Select" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:HyperLink ID="lnkAdd" runat="server">Add</asp:HyperLink> <asp:HiddenField ID="hfPersonId" runat="server" Value='<%# Eval("Id") %>'/> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:BoundField HeaderText="First Name" DataField="FirstName" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" SortExpression="FirstName" /> <asp:BoundField HeaderText="Last Name" DataField="LastName" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" SortExpression="LastName" /> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Phone Number" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" > <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="lblPhone" runat="server" Text="" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> <PagerTemplate> <table width="100%" class="pager"> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> </table> </PagerTemplate> </asp:GridView> <div class="btnContainer"> <div class="btn btn-height_small btn-style_dominant"> <asp:LinkButton ID="lbtNewRecord" runat="server" OnClick="lbtNewRecord_Click"><span>Create New Record</span></asp:LinkButton> </div> <div class="btn btn-height_small btn-style_subtle"> <a onclick="openParticipantModal();"><span>Cancel</span></a> </div> </div> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="gvSearchResults" EventName="PageIndexChanging" /> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="gvSearchResults" EventName="Sorting" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> In the code behind I have a SetPaging method that is called on the GridView OnDataBound event: private void SetPaging(GridView gv) { GridViewRow row = gv.BottomPagerRow; var place = row.Cells[0]; var first = new LinkButton(); first.CommandName = "Page"; first.CommandArgument = "First"; first.Text = "First"; first.ToolTip = "First Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(first); var lbl = new Label(); lbl.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl); var prev = new LinkButton(); prev.CommandName = "Page"; prev.CommandArgument = "Prev"; prev.Text = "Prev"; prev.ToolTip = "Previous Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(prev); var lbl2 = new Label(); lbl2.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl2); for (int i = 1; i <= gv.PageCount; i++) { var btn = new LinkButton(); btn.CommandName = "Page"; btn.CommandArgument = i.ToString(); if (i == gv.PageIndex + 1) { btn.BackColor = Color.Gray; } btn.Text = i.ToString(); btn.ToolTip = "Page " + i.ToString(); if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(btn); var lbl3 = new Label(); lbl3.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl3); } var next = new LinkButton(); next.CommandName = "Page"; next.CommandArgument = "Next"; next.Text = "Next"; next.ToolTip = "Next Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(next); var lbl4 = new Label(); lbl4.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl4); var last = new LinkButton(); last.CommandName = "Page"; last.CommandArgument = "Last"; last.Text = "Last"; last.ToolTip = "Last Page"; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(last); var lbl5 = new Label(); lbl5.Text = " "; if (place != null) place.Controls.Add(lbl5); } The paging works if I don't use custom paging, but I really need to use the custom paging. I can't figure out why the PageIndexChanging event isn't fired when I'm using the custom paging. Thanks, Jeff

  • creating objects from trivial graph format text file. java. dijkstra algorithm.

    - by user560084
    i want to create objects, vertex and edge, from trivial graph format txt file. one of programmers here suggested that i use trivial graph format to store data for dijkstra algorithm. the problem is that at the moment all the information, e.g., weight, links, is in the sourcecode. i want to have a separate text file for that and read it into the program. i thought about using a code for scanning through the text file by using scanner. but i am not quite sure how to create different objects from the same file. could i have some help please? the file is v0 Harrisburg v1 Baltimore v2 Washington v3 Philadelphia v4 Binghamton v5 Allentown v6 New York # v0 v1 79.83 v0 v5 81.15 v1 v0 79.75 v1 v2 39.42 v1 v3 103.00 v2 v1 38.65 v3 v1 102.53 v3 v5 61.44 v3 v6 96.79 v4 v5 133.04 v5 v0 81.77 v5 v3 62.05 v5 v4 134.47 v5 v6 91.63 v6 v3 97.24 v6 v5 87.94 and the dijkstra algorithm code is Downloaded from: http://en.literateprograms.org/Special:Downloadcode/Dijkstra%27s_algorithm_%28Java%29 */ import java.util.PriorityQueue; import java.util.List; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Collections; class Vertex implements Comparable<Vertex> { public final String name; public Edge[] adjacencies; public double minDistance = Double.POSITIVE_INFINITY; public Vertex previous; public Vertex(String argName) { name = argName; } public String toString() { return name; } public int compareTo(Vertex other) { return Double.compare(minDistance, other.minDistance); } } class Edge { public final Vertex target; public final double weight; public Edge(Vertex argTarget, double argWeight) { target = argTarget; weight = argWeight; } } public class Dijkstra { public static void computePaths(Vertex source) { source.minDistance = 0.; PriorityQueue<Vertex> vertexQueue = new PriorityQueue<Vertex>(); vertexQueue.add(source); while (!vertexQueue.isEmpty()) { Vertex u = vertexQueue.poll(); // Visit each edge exiting u for (Edge e : u.adjacencies) { Vertex v = e.target; double weight = e.weight; double distanceThroughU = u.minDistance + weight; if (distanceThroughU < v.minDistance) { vertexQueue.remove(v); v.minDistance = distanceThroughU ; v.previous = u; vertexQueue.add(v); } } } } public static List<Vertex> getShortestPathTo(Vertex target) { List<Vertex> path = new ArrayList<Vertex>(); for (Vertex vertex = target; vertex != null; vertex = vertex.previous) path.add(vertex); Collections.reverse(path); return path; } public static void main(String[] args) { Vertex v0 = new Vertex("Nottinghill_Gate"); Vertex v1 = new Vertex("High_Street_kensignton"); Vertex v2 = new Vertex("Glouchester_Road"); Vertex v3 = new Vertex("South_Kensignton"); Vertex v4 = new Vertex("Sloane_Square"); Vertex v5 = new Vertex("Victoria"); Vertex v6 = new Vertex("Westminster"); v0.adjacencies = new Edge[]{new Edge(v1, 79.83), new Edge(v6, 97.24)}; v1.adjacencies = new Edge[]{new Edge(v2, 39.42), new Edge(v0, 79.83)}; v2.adjacencies = new Edge[]{new Edge(v3, 38.65), new Edge(v1, 39.42)}; v3.adjacencies = new Edge[]{new Edge(v4, 102.53), new Edge(v2, 38.65)}; v4.adjacencies = new Edge[]{new Edge(v5, 133.04), new Edge(v3, 102.53)}; v5.adjacencies = new Edge[]{new Edge(v6, 81.77), new Edge(v4, 133.04)}; v6.adjacencies = new Edge[]{new Edge(v0, 97.24), new Edge(v5, 81.77)}; Vertex[] vertices = { v0, v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, v6 }; computePaths(v0); for (Vertex v : vertices) { System.out.println("Distance to " + v + ": " + v.minDistance); List<Vertex> path = getShortestPathTo(v); System.out.println("Path: " + path); } } } and the code for scanning file is import java.util.Scanner; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileNotFoundException; public class DataScanner1 { //private int total = 0; //private int distance = 0; private String vector; private String stations; private double [] Edge = new double []; /*public int getTotal(){ return total; } */ /* public void getMenuInput(){ KeyboardInput in = new KeyboardInput; System.out.println("Enter the destination?   • Custom styled select box

    - by Ivan
    Hi to all am trying to use javascript for custom styled select boxes from www.gerrendesign.com/entry_images/selectboxdemo.zip and as I have plenty entries inside one of select box I need to make but am stuck in creation of scrolling function. As this select boxes are compatible with almost all older and new browsers. I need only suggestion or solution how to add scroll in this linked/attached files above - if select box is populated with plenty of entries (example cities, states, or exchange rates...) Am stuck here... Thanks for your cooperation Ivan THIS IS CODE: $(document).ready(function(){ // first locate all of the select tags on the page and hide them $("select.changeMe").css('display','none'); //now, for each select box, run this function $("select.changeMe").each(function(){ var curSel = $(this); // get the CSS width from the original select box var gddWidth = $(curSel).css('width'); var gddWidthL = gddWidth.slice(0,-2); var gddWidth2 = gddWidthL - 28; var gddWidth3 = gddWidthL - 16; // build the new div structure var gddTop = '<div style="width:' + gddWidthL + 'px" class="selectME" tabindex="0"><div class="cornerstop"><div><div></div></div></div><div class="middle"><div><div><div>'; //get the default selected option var whatSelected = $(curSel).children('option:selected').text(); //write the default var gddFirst = '<div class="first"><span class="selectME gselected" style="width:'+ gddWidth2 + 'px;">'+ whatSelected +'</span><span id="arrowImg"></span><div class="clears"></div></div><ul class="selectME">'; // create a new array of div options from the original's options var addItems = new Array(); $(curSel).children('option').each( function() { var text = $(this).text(); var selVal = $(this).attr('value'); var before = '<li style="width:' + gddWidthL + 'px;"><a href="#" rel="' + selVal + '" tabindex="0" style="width:' + gddWidth3 + 'px;">'; var after = '</a></li>'; addItems.push(before + text + after); }); //hide the default from the list of options var removeFirst = addItems.shift(); // create the end of the div selectbox and close everything off var gddBottom ='</ul></div></div></div></div><div class="cornersbottom"><div><div></div></div></div></div>' //write everything after each selectbox var GDD = gddTop + gddFirst + addItems.join('') + gddBottom; $(curSel).after(GDD); //this var selects the div select box directly after each of the origials var nGDD = $(curSel).next('div.selectME'); $(nGDD).find('li:first').addClass("first"); $(nGDD).find('li:last').addClass('last'); //handle the on click functions - push results back to old text box $(nGDD).click( function(e) { var myTarA = $(e.target).attr('rel'); var myTarT = $(e.target).text(); var myTar = $(e.target); //if closed, then open if( $(nGDD).find('li').css('display') == 'none') { //this next line closes any other selectboxes that might be open $('div.selectME').find('li').css('display','none'); $(nGDD).find('li').css('display','block'); //if user clicks off of the div select box, then shut the whole thing down $(document.window || 'body').click( function(f) { var myTar2 = $(f.target); if (myTar2 !== nGDD) {$(nGDD).find('li').css('display','none');} }); return false; } else { if (myTarA == null){ $(nGDD).find('li').css('display','none'); return false; } else { //set the value of the old select box $(curSel).val(myTarA); //set the text of the new one $(nGDD).find('span.gselected').text(myTarT); $(nGDD).find('li').css('display','none'); return false; } } //handle the tab index functions }).focus( function(e) { $(nGDD).find('li:first').addClass('currentDD'); $(nGDD).find('li:last').addClass('lastDD'); function checkKey(e){ //on keypress handle functions function moveDown() { var current = $(nGDD).find('.currentDD:first'); var next = $(nGDD).find('.currentDD').next(); if ($(current).is('.lastDD')){ return false; } else { $(next).addClass('currentDD'); $(current).removeClass('currentDD'); } } function moveUp() { var current = $(nGDD).find('.currentDD:first'); var prev = $(nGDD).find('.currentDD').prev(); if ($(current).is('.first')){ return false; } else { $(prev).addClass('currentDD'); $(current).removeClass('currentDD'); } } var curText = $(nGDD).find('.currentDD:first').text(); var curVal = $(nGDD).find('.currentDD:first a').attr('rel'); switch (e.keyCode) { case 40: $(curSel).val(curVal); $(nGDD).find('span.gselected').text(curText); moveDown(); return false; break; case 38: $(curSel).val(curVal); $(nGDD).find('span.gselected').text(curText); moveUp(); return false; break; case 13: $(nGDD).find('li').css('display','none'); } } $(document).keydown(checkKey); }).blur( function() { $(document).unbind('keydown'); }); }); });

  • Why is android:FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND creating a gradient background in my new activity instead of bluring

    - by nderraugh
    Hi, I've got two activities. One is supposed to be a blur in front of the other. The background activity has several ImageViews which are set up as thin gradients extending across most of the screen and 10dip high. When I start the second activity it sets the background as a gradient occupying the entire window space, that is it appears to be fill_parent'd for both height and width. If I comment out the ImageViews then it blurs and looks as expected. Any thoughts? Here's the code doing the blur. import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.WindowManager; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; public class TransluscentBlurSummaryB extends Activity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND); getWindow().getAttributes().dimAmount = 0.5f; getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DIM_BEHIND, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DIM_BEHIND); setContentView(R.layout.sheetbdetails); OnClickListener clickListener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { TransluscentBlurSummaryB.this.finish(); } }; findViewById(R.id.sheetbdetailstable).setOnClickListener(clickListener); } } And here's the layout with the ImageView gradients. <?xml version="1.0" I get the following error in Chrome every time I try to run my script on a Linux server: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error. In Firefox it just shows a blank white page. Whenever I run it on my local test server (IIS on Windows 7) it runs exactly the way it should with no errors. I am pretty sure that it is a problem with the imap_open function. error_reporting(E_ALL); echo "test"; // enter gmail username below e.g.-- $m_username = "yourusername"; $m_username = "username"; // enter gmail password below e.g.-- $m_password = "yourpword"; $m_password = "password"; // Enter the mail server to connect to $server = '{imap.gmail.com:993/imap/ssl/novalidate-cert}INBOX'; // enter the number of unread messages you want to display from mailbox or //enter 0 to display all unread messages e.g.-- $m_acs = 0; $m_acs = 10; // How far back in time do you want to search for unread messages - one month = 0 , two weeks = 1, one week = 2, three days = 3, // one day = 4, six hours = 5 or one hour = 6 e.g.-- $m_t = 6; $m_t = 2; //-----------Nothing More to edit below //open mailbox $m_mail = imap_open ($server, $m_username . • xs:choice unbounded list

    - by Matt
    I want to define an XSD schema for an XML document, example below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <view xmlns="http://localhost/model_data" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://localhost/model_data XMLSchemaView.xsd" path="wibble" id="wibble"> <text name="PageTitle">Homepage</text> <text name="Keywords">home foo bar</text> <image name="MainImage"> <description>lolem ipsum</description> <title>i haz it</title> <url>/images/main-image.jpg</url> <type>image/jpeg</type> <alt>alt text for image</alt> <width>400</width> <height>300</height> </image> <link name="TermsAndConditionsLink"> <url>/tnc.html</url> <title>Terms and Conditions</title> <target>_blank</target> </link> </view> There's a view root element and then an unknown number of field elements (of various types). I'm using the following XSD schema: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://localhost/model_data" targetNamespace="http://localhost/model_data" id="XMLSchema1"> <xs:element name="text" type="text_field"/> <xs:element name="view" type="model_data"/> <xs:complexType name="model_data"> <xs:choice maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="text" type="text_field"/> <xs:element name="image" type="image_field"/> <xs:element name="link" type="link_field"/> </xs:choice> <xs:attribute name="path" type="xs:string"/> <xs:attribute name="id" type="xs:string"/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="image_field"> <xs:all> <xs:element name="description" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="title" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="type" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="url" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="alt" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="height" type="xs:int"/> <xs:element name="width" type="xs:int"/> </xs:all> <xs:attribute name="name" type="xs:string"/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="text_field"> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="xs:string"> <xs:attribute name="name" type="xs:string"/> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="link_field"> <xs:all> <xs:element name="target" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="title" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="url" type="xs:string"/> </xs:all> <xs:attribute name="name" type="xs:string"/> </xs:complexType> </xs:schema> This looks like it should work to me, but it doesn't and I always get the following error: Element <text> is not allowed under element <view>. Reason: The following elements are expected at this location (see below) <text> <image> <link> Error location: view / text Details cvc-model-group: Element <text> unexpected by type 'model_data' of element <view>. cvc-elt.5.2.1: The element <view> is not valid with respect to the actual type definition 'model_data'. I've never really used XSD schemas before, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could point out where I'm going wrong.

  • syslog-ng and nging logs to mysql

    - by Katafalkas
    So couple of days ago I asked how to log php and nginx logs to centralized MySQL database, and m0ntassar gave a perfect answer :) cheer ! The problem I am facing now is that I can not seem to get it working. syslog-ng version: # syslog-ng --version syslog-ng 3.2.5 This is my nginx log format: log_format main '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] "$request" ' '$status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" ' '"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for"'; syslog-ng source: source nginx { file( "/var/log/nginx/tg-test-3.access.log" follow_freq(1) flags(no-parse) ); }; syslog-ng destination: destination d_sql { sql(type(mysql) host("127.0.0.1") username("syslog") password("superpasswd") database("syslog") table("nginx") columns("remote_addr","remote_user","time_local","request","status","body_bytes_sent","http_ referer","http_user_agent","http_x_forwarded_for") values("$REMOTE_ADDR", "$REMOTE_USER", "$TIME_LOCAL", "$REQUEST", "$STATUS","$BODY_BYTES_SENT", "$HTTP_REFERER", "$HTTP_USER_AGENT", "$HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR")); }; MySQL table for testing purposes: CREATE TABLE `nginx` ( `remote_addr` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `remote_user` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `time` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `request` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `status` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `body_bytes_sent` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `http_referer` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `http_user_agent` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `http_x_forwarded_for` varchar(100) DEFAULT NULL, `time_local` text, `datetime` text, `host` text, `program` text, `pid` text, `message` text ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 Now first thing that goes wrong is when I restart syslog-ng: # /etc/init.d/syslog-ng restart Stopping syslog-ng: [ OK ] Starting syslog-ng: WARNING: You are using the default values for columns(), indexes() or values(), please specify these explicitly as the default will be dropped in the future; [ OK ] I have tried creating a file destination and it all works fine, and then I have tried replacing my destination with: destination d_sql { sql(type(mysql) host("127.0.0.1") username("syslog") password("kosmodromas") database("syslog") table("nginx") columns("datetime", "host", "program", "pid", "message") values("$R_DATE", "$HOST", "$PROGRAM", "$PID", "$MSGONLY") indexes("datetime", "host", "program", "pid", "message")); }; Which did work and it was writing stuff to mysql, The problem is that I want to write stuff to in exact format as nginx log format is. I assume that I am missing something really simple or I need to do some parsing between source and destination. Any help will be much appreciated :)

  • Windows 7 & Photoshop CS5.1 - "Fonts missing" issue - I have the font!! (sort of)

    - by Tigue Von Bond
    I've noticed a really aggravating issue with Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 on at least two occasions. I downloaded a layered PSD file to work with, in the release notes it directed me to a download page for all of the font used, which was Futura Medium Condensed. I chcked and did not have any Futura fonts at all. So I downloaded and installed the font from the source provided by the provider of the PSD. I closed and reopened Photoshop and when I open the PSD file I get an error saying: Some text layers contain fonts that are missing. These layers will need to have the missing fonts replaced before they can be used for vector based output. I then go to edit the text layer and receive: The following fonts are missing for text layer "discount" Future CondensedExtraBold Font substitution will occur. Continue? If I click OK, it substitutes Myriad Pro for this layer. Didn't I download the right font? I go into the font dropdown and see I have a font with a slightly different name "Futura-CondensedExtraBold-Th Regular" I have also seen this issue with Helvetica. I have received a PSD file, same "some text layers contain fonts that are missing These..." error dialog when I open up the file - and when I go to edit a layer with text I get: The following fonts are missing for text layer "Home": Helvetica Font substitution will occur. Continue? I click continue - it substitutes Myriad Pro - and check my font list and sure enough I have a bunch of Helvetica fonts, none exactly named "Helvetica" Is this a common issue? Googling it yielded a few people with similar problems (I think all on Macs) but either no concrete help or no response. Is it that the two font names aren't EXACT matches? If that is the case is there any way of setting up Photoshop to more intelligently substitute or even set up some sort of mapping (if "Helvetica" then substitute "Helvetica Lt Std" ? Is there anything else, maybe something that I am not thinking of?
