    The setup: I have a project that is using CouchDB. The documents will have a field called "tags". This "tags" field is an array of strings (e.g., "tags":["tag1","tag2","etc"]). I am using couchdb-lucene as my search provider. The question: What function can be used to get couchdb-lucene to index the elements of "tags"? If you have an idea but no test environment, type it out, I'll try it and give the result here.

    Hi. I'm using sql plus to execute a query (a select) and dump the result into a file, using spool option. I have about 14 millions lines, and it takes about 12 minutes to do the dump. I was wondering if there is something to make the dump faster?   • Double.TryParse() input decimal separator different than system decimal separator

    I have a source XML that uses a dot (".") as a decimal separator and I am parsing this on a system that uses a comma (",") as a decimal separator. As a result, value of 0.7 gets parsed with Double.TryParse or Double.Parse as 7000000. What are my options to parse correctly? One of them is to replace dots in source with commas with String.Replace('.', ',') but I don't think I like this very much.

  • django: search forms and redirect

    After processing form from POST I should redirect, to prevent user from hitting back. However, I am using form to determine search query on a database, so I need to either pass params to the redirected site or the result of a search. Or maybe there is some other good practice, how to solve this problem? Maybe in this situation I am allowed not to redirect (nothing happens, if user performs search again).

    I'm trying to design a database to record game histories for a game I'm working on. I have 3 different tables: users, gamehistories, and gamescores. Columns for tables: users: uid, displayname, email gamehistories: gid, pubID, start (datetime), end (datetime) gamescores: gid, uid, score I am trying to produce the following result set given a userID (uid): Opponent's displayname, my score, opponent's score, duration Any ideas? Is my design ok? How can I query these tables to get game histories for a given uid?

    Hi all! Do you have any idea how to covert different Unicode characters to their closest ASCII equivalents? Like Ä - A. A googled but didn't find any suitable solution. Trick Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("Ä")[0] didn't work. (Result was ?). I found that there is class Encoder that has Fallback property that is exactly for cases when char can't be converted, but implementations (EncoderReplacementFallback) are stupid and convert to ?.     Hello, I've got a Problem with ArrayList. I need it to store a result. Because I want to start with element n I tryed to give the ArrayList a capacity with ensureCapacity(n+1) to use set(n,x) but I get an IndexOutOfBoundsException. I tryed to store n add(x) before the use of set and this works. So I'd like to know why it doesn't work on my way and how to solve this because put n times a add(x) isn't a good style ;-) Best regards, Sebastian

    I have heard perl is a good language at doing regex but i am a bit confused at the characters that requires escaping I tested the code on http://regexlib.com/RETester.aspx and got the result I want //home/dev/abc/code/hello/world.cpp#1 //home/dev/((.*?)/[^/]+).*# Match $1 $2 //home/dev/abc/code/hello/world.cpp# abc/code abc However, I am not quite sure how do i translate this to perl code I tried, \/\/home\/dev\/\(\(\.\*\?\)\/\[\^\/\]\+\)\.\*\# and \/\/home\/dev\/((.*?)\/[^\/]+).*\# and both failed Don't you think the escaping makes the regex very unreadable?     I have an application which performs 30 independent tasks simultaneously using multithreading, each task retrieves data over http, performs a calculation and returns a result to the ui thread. Can I use tpl to perform the same tasks? Does tpl create 30 new threads and spread them over all the available cores, or does it just split the tasks over the available cores and use one thread per core? Will there be a performance boost using tpl over multithreading in this case?

I call in onDestroy Intent data = new Intent(); setResult(RESULT_OK, data) But when it comes to onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) the resultCode is 0 (RESULT_CANCELED) and data is 'null'. So, how can I pass result from activity terminated by BACK button?
