    Can the locale configuration of a system OR the keyboard type configuration of that system in anyway affect which API is called at the Kernel level? To be specific, if a program is invoking 'CreateFile()' API then the windows API documentation says that the call gets delegated to either CreateFileA or CreateFileW. If that program is being run on a system present in China with a Chinese Keyboard then which of the two functions will be called?

    If I have a string that looks like either ./A/B/c.d OR .\A\B\c.d How do I get just the "./A/B/" part? The direction of the slashes can be the same as they are passed. This problem kinda boils down to: How do I get the last of a specific character in a string? Basically, I want the path of a file without the file part of it.

    Hi, I'm using Luntbuild with Subversion and would like to have our svn tagging environment specific (dev, testing, etc.) and I'm wondering if there's a way to use a variable in the VCS Adapters section. I'm looking for something like this: Directory for tags: tags/Builds/${env}/Service Where ${env} is a variable I can set in the Luntbuild builders section or elsewhere.   • Need a good way to store data in a DB from a table on a webpage that can have N columns.

    Users need to be able to add a specific type of column to an otherwise static table on my web page and then save the information they enter in there to the database. I've been told that in reality they will almost never go over 5 columns but I would rather support N. The columns will all be of the same datatype. My first thought was to have an XML column with the values from all added columns in there but I was curious if anyone else had come up with a better solution. Suggestions?

    I want GWT to not serialize some fields of my object (which implements Serializable interface). Normally, transient keyword would be enough. However, I also need to put the object on memcache. The use of transient keyword would make the field not being stored on memcache also. Is there any GWT-specific technique to tell the serializer to not serialize a field?
