  I am running Plesk 9.5 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and have about 15 websites infected with some malicious code appended to the end of java files. I have installed Clamav and it has managed to pickup the infected files which have a pattern of starting with either /*km0ae9gr6m*/ or /*gootkitstart*/ and ending with /*qhk6sa6g1c*/ or /*gootkitend*/ My Plesk panel is up to date and security patches were installed. How can I isolate the security vulnerability on the server?

• Javascript on a desktop wallpaper (XP)

  I have a desktop wallpaper shipped out by my domain, it's a HTML wallpaper that displays information like today's date, etc. It also has the internet usage rules. Using jquery I've made it so that the rules are hidden and displayed when you click on the section heading. The JS runs fine and it hides the rules, but it appears that once the desktop "loses focus" the javascript stops and clicking the headings does nothing. Anyone know a way to keep javascript running?

All my drivers are up to date, downloaded directly from the vendor site, installed with administrative privileges, etc. Yet, all OpenGL applications cannot render the interface (or any visuals). Examples are Blender (3D modeling software) and Babo Violent (top-down FPS). All the controls, sound effects and music are live, but the screen is black or light gray, respectively. What can one do?

  As you might know sandboxing software doesn't work in 64bit Windows due to patchguard. What are the alternatives for a person looking to test untrusted / temporary software? Edit: @Nick I'd prefer an alternative to VMs as I'm not happy with the extended startup time, the extra login sequences and the memory overhead that accompanies booting a VM solution to test something out ocassionally as a home user. Also it's another system that needs to be kept secure and up to date.

I do not want to use VBA, I was successful in sequencing the protection steps, but now can not repeat the process. • Confused with DKIM, SPF and Exim Configs

  I've now spent 2 hours trying to figure out this issue and I am about to give up and go to bed. I've been having issues with Gmail rejecting emails from my VPS server because of false spam alerts (probably caused by lfd sending too many emails). So I changed my Exim config to send emails from a different IP (my VPS comes with 3) and that fixed the issue. I also enabled DKIM and SPF on my domains for added measure. But now, all my emails appear as ("From: Sender Name via server.domain1.com") where server.domain1.com is my VPS hostname. I previously had the same issue in Outlook and turning off "Set SMTP Sender: headers" solved that problem. But I believe adding the DKIM and SPF now makes Gmail add "via server.domain1.com" to my messages. How do I fix this? • Word 2010 - Styled paragraph separating into separate numbered lines

  USING WORD 2010 I have a style "Heading 4 Par" which is a style based on Heading 4. It is a numbered style. My problem is when I apply the "Heading 4 Par" to say a 3 lined paragraph it separates each of the lines in the paragraph and numbers it. I always show the formatting characters and as far as I can see there is only ONE paragraph mark situated at the end of what is supposed to be a paragraph. eg. Original: 7.4 Text.... text con't..... Text... After Applying Format: 7.4 Text... 7.4 text con't... 7.4 text con't. After I've applied the format it behaves as though each line should be the start of a new paragraph but there is no paragraph mark to show this. This is driving me crazy! Help!

• Locking down firmware to keep stolen laptop from being formatted?

  On the Mac laptops there are ways through the terminal to lock down the computer so that if someone tries to format the computer they won't be able to do it without the password. This way locks down the firmware. Is there a universal way to do the same thing on a PC? I know there are brands out there such as Samsung, Dell, etc that utilize different fimware types, and in turn will mean that their firmware will be locked down differently. That being said is there a "command code" that will allow you to lock the firmware to keep theives from formatting the hard drive and wiping out your data? I know a person who has time, and knowledge can get any password, and hopefully the person is smart enough to use another password to lock down the firmware, but that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking if it's possible, and if so how? Does the standard PC user require a 3rd party app, or can it be done through the command line? Or Terminal if you are on Linux?

Even with a monospaced font, I find the TextBox feature to be difficult in terms of formatting. Crazy Bob has an article on how he handled it in 2004 (he creates PDFs from the code samples and then includes those). However, I would like to know if there have been any changes since then. My question revolves around the problem of installing a program from source. If I where to build a distro with no package management system what possibilities would I have for maintaining the program is up to date. My only idea would be to keep a record of all the programs installed from source and perform a periodic check to identify if a new version is out.

  I am trying to convert a list of property id numbers that has a standard format of 0000-A-00000-00-00, where my worksheet has the various combinations of 1-A-123 10-B-1234 Ideally they would read as follows 0001-A-00123-0000-00 0010-B-01234-0000-00 I've tried using the custom number formatting but it doesn't like the letter in the middle of the number. I didn't know if my only option was to break them apart and then put them back together again. I would accept a solution that merely put the leading zeros at the front of the number, (max is 4 characters) so the result could look like 0001-A-123

  We bought several 3T SAS hard disks want to use with our Dell R710 server. But we found our R710 can't recognize the 3T hd, and then we dig out the raid card is PERC 6i which doesn't support it. Contacted with Dell that H700 and H800 support 3T hd, thought we can buy a H700 , but the SAS cable is not available in the market right now. And it seems very hard for us to change the raid card, also no suitable tools to tease the special screws. So I want to know if any other method to use these 3T hds instead of putting them in the warehouse? Can I low formatting it to 2TB, and plug it into Dell R710 to use? Or a SAS to USB adapter to use it as USB external disk? I just want to use them by Dell R710 even external.

• Cross-match a number of worksheets to one master worksheet

  Hopefully the title is not too confusing. Basically, I have a master list of addresses and those addresses are listed in multiple columns (Column A - street number, Column B - street name, Column C - street type etc) and I get a another set of addresses on a daily basis with the same address formatting. What I need to do is cross-match the daily changing list of addresses to the first list to remove any matching entries. So, for example, if the first list has 123 Main St on it, I have to ensure that there are no entries of 123 Main St on any subsequent daily lists. I'm using one address as an example but the lists contain upwards of 10000 addresses that have to be cross matched. I don't need them flagged or highlighted, just deleted from the daily lists (though if they have to be flagged or highlighted, I could work with that) Any help here would be much appreciated.

• Multi-Document TOC showing in wrong order

  I had a large document that was having formatting issues, so I split it into 2 files. Chapters 1-7 are in the main doc with the TOC and a second doc has chapters 8-12. I have the following: {TOC \O "1-3" \H \Z \U} {RD \f "MCDPS Training Manual Part2.docx"} The TOC is created and has entries from both documents, however its showing the entries from Chapter 8-11 first and then Chapter 1-7. I've read that it should list them based on page numbers, but its not. Chapter 8 starts at page 121, yet its listing it first. How can I get it to show the TOC from the main doc first and then the RD?

• Alienware m15x (older model) BSOD investigation

  A frined of mine asked me to help him with an Alienware m15x laptop that had a little service history. It was bought in june 2008, serviced in january 2009 for a random fps drop problem, Alienware returned it saying nothing was wrong. The laptop still had hiccups, but after juggling a few drivers and settings, the fps drops weren't as noticeable. Eventually it died in Sept. 2009. It would not boot up locking itself on a white/gray screen. (i think it was overheating .. clocking in 100 degrees Celsius). So back to Alienware it went. They replaced the GPU and all was fine. Up until these blue screens started showing up. One other thing that was updated was the HDD and a Windows 7 reinstall, in August. From then on it seems to have started its BSOD. Could this be the culprit? Why? 0_o The original Windows was Vista but it was upgraded with a digital download/purchase of Windows 7 Home Premium and activated after installing windows. No errors on the old HDD, just on the latest installation. LE:Due note that now the old HDD is used to see if issues re-occur. So please, I am in need of someone who can interpret these windows dump files: Minidump I may have come to some conflicting conclusions. So if someone can clarify each dump/date and the probable cause/error it had; and a final conclusion or solution, we would be very grateful. • Windows 7 "Could not reconnect all network drives" on boot

  Windows 7 won't reconnect to my network drives on startup. Once it is done booting opening Windows Explorer and clicking each share will mount them. Windows 7 Enterprise N Service Pack 1 I have attempted formatting the windows machine - first thing done to machine was to map the network drives, upon reboot they were disconnected. It is running on an Crucial M4 64gb SSD. The host of the network shares is a Ubuntu-Server machine connected through a gigabit switch. A modem provides dhcp, although both these machines have static IP's defined. It won't reconnect the drives regardless of whether they're SAMBA shares or NFS shares - therefore I believe it's an issue with the windows machine. Ubuntu 11.10 (GNU/Linux 3.0.0-12-server x86_64) I've tried using ip address instead of netbios name for mapping shares on the windows machine, Also tried setting EnableLinkedConnections=1 gpedit.msc Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - System-Logon - always wait for the network at computer startup and logon = yes
