• How to check for DOM equality with jQuery?

  I'm basically building a simple list, and one of the items in the list is selected. I'm accomplishing this by having a "selected" class applied to whichever item I want to have selected. I have two buttons that go forward and backward which traverse this list. However, when the user gets to the first or the last element in the list, I want to do a post back. This is where I'm stuck, because I'm having trouble identifying that the currently selected item is not the first or the last. Simple Example: <div id="list"> <p>item 1</p> <p>item 2</p> <p class="selected">item 3</p> </div> Let's say the user presses the next button, at this point I'm checking for something similar to this: if (jQuery('#list p.selected') == jQuery('#list p:last-child')) //do post back However, this logic is returning false, which leads me to believe I'm approaching this the wrong way. What is the best way for me to check for this kind of logic using jQuery?

I added the files for the main Bootstrap but use a gem for simple_form to work with it just so you know. • jQuery: preventDefault() not working on input/click events?

  I want to disable the default contextMenu when a user right-clicks on an input field so that I can show a custom contextMenu. Generally speaking, its pretty easy to disable the right-click menu by doing something like: $([whatever]).bind("click", function(e) { e.preventDefault(); }); And in fact, I can do this on just about every element EXCEPT for input fields in FF - anyone know why or could point me towards some documentation? • Javascript callback not firing when AJAX operation complete

The partial result from my controller replaces all items in that div with more of the same class. The OnSuccess method is supposed to fire after the document is updated. Update: k...this gets weird. I added the following to the BindCommunityHover method: alert($(".community-item-li").size()); I'm getting 240 in the alert when the page loads and when the callback fires. So, the callback IS firing, jQuery is matching the elements but not applying the styles...

• How can I add my desired links to be read using PHP Universal FeedParser

  Hello, I have been trying to use the PHP Universal FeedParser to read RSS feeds and display the output on my site. Problem is I am VERY green with this and although it seems very simple. the only link that is working is the link provided in the sample. When I try to add another address with the xml or rss.php extensions, I keep getting errors,the page is loading blank,or the designated area for the feeds is blank. In addition to this, how can I add multiple links to feeds in a syntactically correct manor and how can I limit the amount of feeds?   I'm trying to get the JSON that a TRELLO API Url returns and put it into a string. On my own private board I am getting "401 Unauthorized". But the Trello Api doesn't seem to give any way to authorize a user through the URL. • Width of li with two floats different in IE, correct in FF

  I've worked out most of the kinks with my "lava-lamp" effect that I'm trying to create. Basically I want two curly braces (both are images) to wrap a list-item, then follow over to the next list-item. I always build in FF, then make exceptions for IE. I can't figure out what exception I need to make! I'm using an absolutely positioned li that contains two div's. The first div is floated left, the second is floated right. The width of the li is set to the width of the li it supposed to be wrapping. Thus creating the effect of the braces on the left and right sides of the text. It works beautifully in Firefox, but IE has two issues: The bottoms of the images are cut off. Sometimes they reappear when the animation ends, sometimes they don't. I assume this has to do with height, but no matter what I set the height to, it fails! The width is completely wrong. Here's a live example of it: http://jsbin.com/odome/2 The left position in IE is always 5-7px more than in FF, but that's a small difference. I'm more concerned with the width and the bottoms of the images being trimmed. Thanks, as always, for the help!

  i am using datatables api to display data in my asp.net4.0 application; datatables I have one column [ Delete ] to delete the row data.when i click on this link i send a jquery ajax request to delete the row from database. • jQuery Address - redirect after form submit

  Hello all, I use jQuery and AJAX to load content from links and forms into a content div. In addition I use the Address plugin to enable the back button and refresh. On the server side I use Java and Spring MVC. Since I'm using jQuery Address and AJAX the only page that is directly loaded is "index.html". Everything else is loaded into a content div, and what page to load is specified in the hash, ie. "index.html#/users/add.html" will load "users/add.html". Now, "users/add.html" contains a form for creating a new user. When the form is submitted and everything went OK, the controller redirects to "users/index.html". The problem is that jQuery Address doesn't know about the redirect, so the url will remain "index.html#/users/add.html". And this is a problem when you refresh the page and then get sent back to the form, instead of the index page. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks, Stian

• Super simple CSS tooltip in a table, why is it not displaying and can I make it work?

  Hi, I have been trying to implement many different tooltips on this page for my client, he's adamant that we have a picture of the product show up when you hover over the product name in the order page. I decided to use the super simple CSS tooltip, it's very easy to implement and does exactly what we want. It works on a dynamic page, the others I tried didn't. I have made an example here: CSS tooltip in table example. This page used to be displayed using divs, I have since changed it to a table, as it's tabular data and easier to work with. It worked fine when it used divs, now it's in a table, it won't display the span on hover. My questions are: Why is it not working? How can I make it work? If not, does anyone know another super easy to implement tooltip that can work properly on a dynamic page? Here's the DIV tooltip for reference: DIV display tooltip. • Why does font-size only work when I set background-color on a button?

  I am in Rails 3.2.6, on Chrome. I have the following code in my html.erb file: <div id="beta"> <%= form_tag({}, {:id => "id_search"}) do %> ID: <%= text_field_tag "beta_id" %> <%= submit_tag "Go" %> <% end %> </div> When I set the font-size to 24pt in my CSS file, the text field changes properly, but the button doesn't change at all. I pulled it up in my Developer Tools, and it was getting the CSS property, but just not changing its font size. Even when I put !important, nothing happened. I couldn't change the font-family either. When I changed the background-color property, the button suddenly turned square instead of round, and popped into the correct font-size and font-family. Why was this the case and how can I work around it?

Of course, the next version of Whitespace (0.4) may have its instructions revised even more, but this is just a redesign of what originally was done in a few hours. Hopefully, the instructions make more sense to those new to programming jargon.

• Some jQuery-powered features not working in Chrome

  I'm using a jCarouselLite plugin for creating two image galleries on the main page of my Django-powered site. It happends only in Google Chrome (Ubuntu, stable 5.0.360.0), but not in Firefox or Opera. What could be the reason?

• Jqgrid search option hides the grid table

  The issue is when I click on search option (on pager) it shows the search window but the grid gets hide. I'm including the jqmodal.js file. • google maps not showing actual map and postcode

  Im trying to pass a dynamically generated postode to a page. But currently its not showing the map correctly. Any ideas?
