  • SMTP 552 4.3.1 Session size exceeds fixed maximum session size.

    I'm having a frustrating problem with one of our clients who is running an exchange SMTP server. I have an emailing component that is written in .net and I've specifically used Mono DLL's to ensure that the email component sends the ELO and QUIT command for each message it sends. Each mail I send will never exceed 10MB's including attachments, which is lower than the session size value set in the clients exchange configuration. Still the problem persists. Any ideas where to look?

  • Bugzilla mail_delivery_method using TLS for Gmail

    I installed the TLS as described in http://www.dawood.in/bugzilla%5Falerts%5Fusing%5Fgmail.html and verified that the package is installed. Restarted the Apache server. Log in as admin to the bugzilla. Gone to Administration - Parameters - Email I can't see the option for SMTP::TLS under mail_ delivery_method. Any ideas, Thanks, Matt

  • Bind an ip address to Postfix as outgoing ip

    Is that possible to bind all available public ip addresses on a server to one Postfix instance as its outgoing ip pool and let it choose a random ip or specified ip from the pool each time it sends out an email? If above is not possible, can it be configured to listen on one public ip address per instance and each time it delivers a message, it use the binded one as outgoing ip address.

  • Android ActiveSync/Outlook Error

    Getting the following error when attempt to press "Refresh" inside the Mail app for an exchange server account. Using an Android 2.1 device (Evo). "Exchange email synchronization is disabled".     Windows Live Mail by default changes straight quotation marks (" and ') to typographic quotation marks, aka "smart quotes" (“, ”, ‘ and ’). This often results in the recipient of the email seeing blank rectangles or other symbols instead of the smart quotes, due to encoding problems. Unlike in most programs, there's doesn't seem to be any built-in option to disable this, and searching online for solutions only leads to workarounds, like hitting Backspace immediately after typing a single or double quote, and switching to "Plain text" mode. Is there any way to disable this behaviour?

  • Backup IMAP mail, then access via IMAP again

    I am looking for a tool to backup an entire IMAP account and then expose that backup (read-only) via IMAP again. This would be perfect for backing up email from any provider, and allowing the backup to be accessed from any mail client even years after closing the account. I suspect this could be achieved using a full blown IMAP server by configuring it to mirror some other server; but I am hoping for a simpler solution.

    At work we are running Surgemail. The desktop mail client is Outlook which downloads mail over POP3, and so email is stored on users desktops in PST files. Looking at the features of Surgemail compared to Exchange 2007 can anyone provide a convincing argument to change? The argument must be user related or disaster recovery related they can not be about administration of the system.

  • postfix cannot getting my domain name?

    Hi I'm trying to setup webmin+postfix+dovecot+roundcube, for this moment I want things be as simple as possible so I'm using linux users as email accounts. I can send/receive from the same domain, I mean [email protected] can send/receive to/from [email protected] I tested smtp/imap with outlook and says no problem. if I send a mail from gmail it reject with error of: Technical details of temporary failure: The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect. when I login with roundcube the email address display in the right corner is something like user1@com and I get this error message from logs: [11-Nov-2012 07:39:03 +0400]: IMAP Error: Login failed for user1 from 187.150.xx.xx. Could not connect to com:143: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /var/www/webmail/program/include/rcube_imap.php on line 191 (POST /webmail/?_task=login&_action=login) it says Could not connect to com:143 looks like it cannot read the domain name. I used http://mxtoolbox.com/ to check the mx record and it says it can find the server of mail.mydomain.com.   • Outlook 2007 won't close

    I use Outlook 2007 at home as an IMAP client and RSS feed reader. I have a problem that when I close outlook, the window exits, but the process remains running. This prevents me from opening outlook again and on Win7 prevents rapid shutdown of my computer. How can I have Outlook 2007 exit for real?   • SBS domain name choice

    We are about to set up SBS 2011 at my small company < 10 users. My collaborator wants to name the SBS domain "example.local" . I'm of the opinion we should name the SBS domain "corp.example.com" and setup DNS so the "corp" record is a NS record to the SBS server's private IP. FYI: "Example.com" isn't the real domain name and while the website is hosted outside our office, email will be stored on the SBS server in our office after passing though a spam filtering smart host hosted elsewhere too.

    I have an issue with Evolution mail in Ubuntu. Evolution opens up, starts downloading emails asoon as I click on something in Evolution it closes down, I know there are about 2000 mails that need to be downloaded. And sometimes Evolution comes back again and if I click something in evolution it disappears again. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10. This happened since I added two extra email accounts?     I am using Virtualmin and have it set up to have Postfix scan incoming emails with ClamAV (using clamdscan) and delete any emails which contain a virus. However when I email myself the EICAR test string, it comes through just fine. I know ClamAV will report this file as a virus. How can I troubleshoot this / what could be wrong?

    I have a Windows-2003-Server with five computers (Windows XP) accessing it using a domain. I would like to remove the server and the domain and go straight to peer to peer (file sharing via a NAS). We are moving our email to an Exchange Hosting Provider. We no longer need people to log in from different computers and have their desktops available from any computer on the network (however, I do want to get those files off of this setup).     I'm not entirely sure whether this part of stack exchange is the most adequate for my question, but it would seem to me that people sharing this kind of concern would converge either here, or possibly on a more unix-specific sub site. Either way, here goes. Background Feel free to skip to The Question, below. This should, however, help those interested understand where I'm coming from, and where I expect to get, messaging-wise. My online talking place-to-go has been IRC for the last fifteen years. I think it's a great protocol, and clients out there are very good. I still use, and will always continue to use IRC for most of my chat needs. But then, there is private instant messaging. While IRC can solve this with queries and DCC chats, the protocol just isn't meant to work too well on intermittent connections, such as a mobile device, where you can often walk around places with low signal. I used MSN for a while, but didn't like it. The concept was awesome, but I think Microsoft didn't get the implementation quite right. When they started adding all that eye candy, and my buddies started flooding me with custom icons and buzzing my screen to it's knees, I shut my account and told folks that missed me to just email or call me. Much whining happened, I got called many weird things for not using MSN, but folks eventually got over it. Next, Google Talk came along, and seemed to be a lot better than MSN ever was. The protocol was open, so I could use whatever client I felt a fancy for. With the advent of smart phones, I just got myself a gtalk client on the phone, and have had a really decent integrated mostly-universal IM solution. Over the last few months, all Google services have been feeling flaky. IMs will often arrive anywhere between twenty minutes and one hour after being sent, clients will randomly disconnect, client priorities seem to work sometimes, and sometimes just a random device of those connected will get an IM. I think the time has come to look for greener grass. The Question It's rather hard to put what I'm looking for into precise words. I guess I just want something that is kind of like MSN/Gtalk, but that doesn't let me down when I need it. IRC is pretty much perfect, but the protocol just isn't designed to work well on mobile devices. Really, at this point I'm considering sticking to IRC for desktop messaging, and SMS/email on the phone, but I hope that in this day and age there is something better out there.

  • Can thunderbird with -no-remote launch firefox without it?

    We have two thunderbird profiles, and we launch thunderbird using -no-remote as follows: thunderbird -no-remote -P Profile1 and thunderbird -no-remote -P Profile2 unfortunately, this means that if either of us click on a link in an email, and firefox is already running, we get a warning message telling us that firefox is already running, rather than having it open the link. Is it possible for thunderbird to use firefox's remote, even though it has been launched with -no-remote? (if it makes a difference, this is on Xubuntu Karmic)
