  • File Not Found error launching Guest OS in a non-administrator user account

    Hi, I am running Fusion 2.0.6 (196839) on an iMac running 10.6.2 with 3 user accounts (1 Administrator). I have Fusion set up to share the Guest OS, and it's been working splendidly for nearly a year. Within the Guest OS (Windows XP PRO), there are also 3 user accounts (1 Administrator). Last night I went to back up my VM to an external drive, and to minimize the file size and transfer time, I deleted all Snapshots but the most-recent one. I then backed up the VM externally (28.23 GB). Today, one of my users tried to launch the Guest OS from within her user account, and received the following error message: "File Not Found: Windows XP Pro-000006.vmdk "This file is required to power on this virtual machine. If this file was moved, please provide its new location." My two choices are Cancel and Browse. When I browse, I can locate the Windows XP Pro-000006.vmdk file, which appears to be contained within the VM file (Windows XP Pro.vmwarevm). However, it still won't launch from a non-Admin user account. If I view the package contents of the VM file from the user account, the above file is present and appears to be created upon each launch of the Guest OS. If I go back to my Administrator account on the Mac and then launch Fusion, the Guest OS works perfectly for all 3 user accounts within XP Pro. I have tried to delete the Guest OS from Fusion's Library within the problem user account, then re-connect it to that Library, but the result is the same. The Guest OS data integrity is 100% -- but is accessible only from the OS X Administrator account. This problem only surfaced after deleting several older Snapshots. Again, the data is there, the Guest OS powers up normally in the Mac's Administrator account, but persistently returns the above error when attempting to power on from a non-Admin account on the Mac. I'm not sure how this is affecting the error, but when I look at Hard Disk Settings, the "unable-to-locate" file is the filename of the virtual HD. I don't want to make any changes to my (working) VM without any advice from the knowledgeable people on this forum. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • "I/O Error Occurred" in vSphere Client working with ESXi

    I have a datastore set up in ESXi where I put all my ISOs. Somehow, something broke (I don't know what) and now I can't upload files to that (or any other) datastore. For large, ISO-sized files, the "Uploading..." dialog pops up, hangs for a while, and then the "I/O Error Occurred" displays. For smaller files (10 meg neighborhood), the "Uploading..." dialog comes up, a progress bar starts going, and it estimates a time remaining. Then it hangs at 1 second remaining for a while, and the same "I/O Error Occurred" comes up. Has anyone seen a problem like this?

  • Rails 3 shows 404 error instead of index.html (nginx + unicorn)

    I have an index.html in public/ that should be loading by default but instead I get a 404 error when I try to access http://example.com/ The page you were looking for doesn't exist. You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved. This has something to do with nginx and unicorn which I am using to power Rails 3 When take unicorn out of the nginx configuration file, the problem goes away and index.html loads just fine.   • Server 2003 - Default installation of SharePoint throws javascript error 'undefined' is null or not an object

    I have been handed a server that has a fresh installation of small business server 2003. SharePoint has been installed, and it is a completely fresh copy (no changes made) I know for a fact that everything was paid for so this isn't some dodgy copy. When I try to click any option in any of the floating menu's in IE 8, the browser asks me if I want to debug .. Error: 'undefined' is null or not an object for example, I got to Projects - and click on the sample project, then click delete on the floating menu that pops up and the error appears. This is brand new, I cannot believe I am having this problem! Has anyone come across this, is it an old problem with easy fix? All windows updates installed - see no updates for sharepoint?   • Should I stop redirecting after successful POST or PUT requests?

    It seems common in the Rails community, at least, to respond to successful POST, PUT or DELETE requests by redirecting instead of returning success. For instance, if I PUT a legal change to my user profile, the idiomatic response would be a 302 Redirect to the profile page. Isn't this wrong? Shouldn't we be returning 200 OK from the request? Or a 201 Created, in the case of a POST request? Either of those, in the HTTP/1.1 Status Definitions are allowed to (or required to) include a response, anyway. I guess I'm wondering, before I go and "fix" my application, whether there is there a darn good reason why the community has gone the way of redirects instead of successful responses.

    I have a website stored on azure for which I got an SSL certificate. I am trying to redirect www.mywebsite.com to https://www.mywebsite.com but with no success.     I have a rewrite that nginx calls like so: location ~* (css)$ { rewrite ^(.*),(.*)$ /min/index.php?f=$1,/min/$2 last; } And it's used on pages like this: http://domain.com/min/framework.css,dropdown.css Works all fine and dandy, but it's not scalable. Adding another element to the URL means I have to directly edit the nginx config. Ideally, I'd like to have nginx rewrite according to how many comma-delimited parameters are passed through the URL, rather than setting a fixed amount in the config. Is this possible?

When running this site out of debug mode through visual studio I am not having any problem connecting to the database through the web service and seeing all my data, for both viewing and updating. When I go through the normal web server for the same site, on the same page, no data is showing up. When I put a break on the error portion of the code above in firebug this is information I am getting in the image linked below. link text I am getting what appears to be a 404 error, but when I look on the server all of the files are in the right place... coupled with the fact that it works when in debug mode, I think I am slowly going crazy staring at these same lines of code trying to find the needle in the haystack. Any help or just a direction to look in would be greatly appreciated.

  • I'm receiving an SSL error in various browsers, but I can't find non-SSL content

    I'm receiving an error with my SSL connection. Using google chrome I see the following error: Your connection is encrypted with 128-bit encryption ... however this page includes other resources which are not secure I've scoured the source code, scripts and rendered code in the browser but cannot find where an http:// call is made. I've also used Fiddler2 to examine the traffic and everything is coming across via HTTPS. Has anyone run into this issue before and if so how did you go about finding the culprit. The website is running ASP.NET MVC3 in C#. The page in question is a simple payment page. The only external call is the google analytics tracking code. The page appears to load correctly, all images and scripts are in place.

  • Windows - Delayed Write Failed error on USB hard drive

    I've got a new Verbatim 1.5TB USB hard drive (Samsung HD154UI) and I'm finding myself completely unable to fill it. I'm using Windows XP. Whenever I try to copy a load of files over, it works for some time (will copy over between 20 and 90GB) but eventually stops with an error saying "The specified path is too deep" - the specified is not too deep, there's nothing more than 2 dirs deep that I'm copying. A balloon pops up at the bottom saying "Windows - Delayed Write Failed" telling me the data could not be copied. This wouldn't be too bad if I could just restart the transfer, but after this error has happened I can't write anything else to the disk - including if I eject it and then connect it to another machine. It just seems completely locked. The only way I can unlock it is to delete everything that I was copying to it. I've tried various USB cables and copying from different machines, and the same thing keeps happening.

  • VS 2010 Layer Diagram Validation Error is Showing A Dependency That Doesn't Even Exist (AV0001)

    I'm getting the following validation error on my layer diagram Error 65 AV0001 : Invalid Dependency : Weld.Interface.Core(Assembly) -- Weld.Interface(Namespace) Layers: Application Framework Core, Application Framework | Dependencies: Namespace Reference D:\Projects\Windows Projects\Weld\Weld\ModelingProject1\Weld.layerdiagram 0 0 ModelingProject1 Weld.Interface.Core: This assembly and namespace does not have a reference to Weld.Interface and only references .NET Framework classes Weld.Interface: This assembly and namespace does not have a reference to Weld.Interface There is no dependancy between these two layers in the dependency diagram. I am confused why I am getting this error. No dependency in the project or code, and no dependency is even setup in the layer diagram. Somehow the Validation logic in the layer diagram is seeing a non existant dependency and saying it is an error. Any ideas what either I might have missed or what is causing this problem?

  • Why am I getting a 403 error on a POST to a PHP script?

    Background I want to allow my users to submit a crash report which will get emailed to me. I'm using UKCrashReporter with the bundled PHP script I've modified. This code does a POST to a specified URL along with the crash report. I'm on a shared server running Linux. My main domain is synapticmishap.co.uk. The Problem When I send the crash report off, on the Cocoa side, it reports as having sent it successfully, but I don't receive an email. The code has been used in lots of other well established Cocoa projects and it was working for me a few months ago. That leads me to conclude that the problems are related to my web server setup, something I know almost nothing about. When I look at my log files, I see entries like this: IP Redacted - - [10/Jun/2010:09:47:53 +0100] "POST /synapticmishap/crashreportform.php HTTP/1.1" 403 74 "-" "UKCrashReporter" What I've tried I've tried accessing the page at http://synapticmishap.co.uk/synapticmishap/crashreportform.php via a browser. It loads fine. I've made sure the permissions on this php script are set so anyone can execute it. I've tried removing the deny entries from the section of .htaccess at various levels starting with root. I've downloaded the URLParams plugin for Firefox which allows you to simulate POSTs. I put in the URL above and tried a post with "crashlog" as the parameter and "test" as the value. This generated a 200 log entry in my log file - it seemed to work, although no mail message was sent.   • Lexmark C532 error code won't go away

    I can't get rid of error code 84 - Yellow PC unit missing. I've just replaced all 4 photoconductors with genuine Lexmark parts and now the error code keeps appearing. I've swapped the PC units around so know it's not a faulty unit. I've followed the suggestions in the online Lexmark manuals and even called the Lexmark helpline but to no avail. any suggestions? Printer was fine until it gave me a PC unit life warning and I renewed them. Thanks.

    Hello I am attempting to schedule a task (to open an .exe at a specific time) using C++ win32. But at one specific point I am getting an error, I have searched & searched to try & find the definition of this error but I cannot find it? Do you know what this error means: Hexadecimal: 80004003 Decimal: 2147500035 I wont post the whole function because its rather long (unless you may need it to determine the error context?).
